Below is a post sent by Shamim Masih profiling Dr. Muhammad Amjid as a man working to improve the lot of the poor in Pakistan. Shamim is heavily involved in charity/non-profits that promotes inter-faith cooperation to help the poor discover a better path to a prosperous life. Inter-faith in this case is usually between Islam and Christianity. I have noticed that Islamic minority faiths such as Shia and Ahmadiyya. Sunni Islam considers Shia and Ahmadiyya to be heresies and as such they are not well treated in Pakistan.

I like to be clear that I consider Islam of any stripe to be an antichrist religion. Thus I am not real big on the interfaith maxim because ultimately Sharia Law takes the stand that Christians are deceived by corrupted Scripture and thus to be humiliated for being infidels.

Shamim in all likelihood does not appreciate my stand on interfaith work with Islam. On the other hand if Moderate Muslims are willing to take a stand in the spirit of equal rights for humans of all faiths, races and creeds I believe it to be magnificent.

I like to try to get corroborating information on Dr. Amjid via Google, I could not this time. However let’s examine some of the organizations Shamim associates with Dr. Amjid.

Shamim credits Dr. Amjid for founding SHELTAR International. Shamim writes a bit of what SHELTAR represent but I am going to post the info from the organization’s homepage to bring a little more clarity:

SHELTAR International has come forward to bring revolution by social progress through community involvement and capacity building in the health, education, environment and rehabilitation sectors.

SHELTAR was established in 1999 to address the problems and sufferings of deprived humanity. SHELTAR is contributing its share to the development of the society. SHELTAR’s principal objectives are to bring social and behavioral change in the system through mass awareness and community participation. SHELTAR aims to recognize the derogatory and forlorn health conditions, which have stigmatized our rural commune.

Our vision is to alleviate poverty and ill health through communal well-being.

To bring virtual revolution by social progress through community involvement and capacity building in health, education, environment and rehabilitation sectors.

SHELTAR International sounds a bit like a subsidiary of UN Agenda 21 which is a path to global government and quasi-freedom as filtered through the eyes of Eco-Marxism. Agenda 21’s Eco-Marxism is not compatible with American Liberty and our Constitutional Bill of Rights. On the other hand an effective Eco-Marxist Agenda 21if successfully implemented would probably benefit Christians in Pakistan more than hinder them. Islam and Sharia are not exactly known for tolerance of cross-cultural Liberty.

All-Pakistan-Muslim-League-APML logoShamim also reveals that Dr. Amjid was (or is – I’m not clear yet) the Senior VP former Pakistan dictator Parvaiz (or Pervez) Musharraf’s political party known as All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). Musharraf established the APML as a political means to regain power rather than the auspices of the Pakistan military. That hasn’t worked for Musharraf.

Evidently APML is not popular with Shamim. I haven’t delved into the reasons as to why. Shamim makes a point Dr. Amjid denies he has joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) [SA PPP history HERE and HERE]. In Googling the PPP I discovered that a more Pakistan People's Party stampprevalent spelling of Dr. ‘Amjid’ is ‘Amjad’. There are several Google search engine links relating how Dr. Amjad has been a senior advisor to General Musharraf and that he has joined the PPP. I don’t understand the reason that Dr. Amjid refutes that claim. Perhaps the explanation is something as simple as the press releases confused meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf as a PPP positive in politics.

Shamim’s confidence in Dr. Muhammad Amjid seems to based on thoughts expressed in the first paragraph of Shamim’s article:

The people from different communities can develop strong ties with each other, once their leaders interact and work jointly for harmony and tolerance, said Dr. Muhammad Amjid.

Involve in positive change

Islamabad Pakistan (Shamim Masih): Peace and harmony must not be promoted only in words, but also in concrete actions of peace. The people from different communities can develop strong ties with each other, once their leaders interact and work jointly for harmony and tolerance, said Dr. Muhammad Amjid.

Talking to Shamim in an interview Dr. Amjid said that non-violence and dialogue is an effective tactic to resolve conflicts and remove prejudice, and therefore people from different faiths must come closer by taking joint initiatives for promotion of peace and harmony.

Dr. Muhammad Amjid, a business magnate, a futuristic and politically in, lives and runs his business in Islamabad for the last two decades. A former student of Forman Christian College, Lahore, settled in Islamabad and started his business and gradually stepped in list of the successful business man of the history of Islamabad/Rawalpindi. Being the Chief Executive of Pharmaceutical Production unit, he has been involved in Research & Development of different Pharmaceutical Products, which include Drugs, Vaccine & sera. In addition, the Open International University awarded due to above work Ph. D. for complementary Medicine.

We are forced to wonder when someone doing charitable work among the poorest of this nation trying to ease their misery- the name appeared, Dr. Muhammad Amjid,  kind hearted man comprehend the ache of the average man faces and fervent to alleviate miseries of his surroundings. Being practical, he started a non-profit organization under the name “SHELTAR International” in 1999. SHELTAR International; is a society for health, Environment, Literacy and Rehabilitation. It aims to bring social and behavioral change in the system through mass awareness and community participation.  Hepatitis is a virus that travels through the blood stream and attacks the liver. Pakistan is among those countries that have a high carrier rate of Hepatitis B and C and as compare to women it is more prevalent in men. A large number of people need to have screening for Hepatitis. Talking about the humanitarian work done, he briefly described that though the tests are not very expensive but the fact is most of our community is poor and vulnerable so cannot they cannot afford these tests. Sheltar International identified and polish the potential of the community to avail the opportunity and also to improve their quality of life. Keeping in view the above mentioned problem SHELTAR International supported women VOs and they have series of activities against Hepatitis to provoke the rapidly spreading HBV & HCV in our local community. He has very positive in resolving the issues of the people.

Dr. Muhammad Amjid had been part of the governing team in previous government, and associated with All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) as Senior Vice President. He denied the news printed about joining Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), he said he met with Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in December, 2012 but didn’t join PPP as party member.

Dozens of former military dictator Gen (Retd) Parvaiz Musharraf’s aide, including Fawad Chaudhary, have quit APML so far.

Like I have full faith in the fact that there is God, I also have solid belief that Pakistan is here to stay and we have everything. There is shortage of nothing but committed leadership who work for the sake the country. I simply have no doubt in writing; he is committed to deliver to the nation.

Be Blessed,

Shamim Masih

Albert David is a Pakistani-Christian activist and Chairman of the Pakistan United Christian Movement (PUCM). PUCM is a political party dedicated to upgrade the social and community status of Pakistani Christians that have for the most part lived under persecution and poverty at least since the British pulled out with the partition split of the Indian Subcontinent into sovereign Pakistan (Muslim) and India (primarily Hindu but a whole slew of religions including Islam hence the concept of a democratic republic as a hopeful unifier).

Below is some information PUCM Facebook About Page:

Equality, Unity, Prosperity.

Inspired by Jesus Christ’s ministry of unconditional love, peace, tolerance and sacrific(e). PUCM envisages a tolerant, peaceful, just and prosperous Pakistan. A motherland where all citizens are ensured equality, not judged by color, cast, creed or religion, but by the content of their character and allegiance to the state.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” Psalm 133:1

Based on the biblical message in Psalm 133:1. PUCM’s mission is to promote and build unity among the Christians of Pakistan reflecting mutual respect and understanding, political and socio-economic progress and prosperity. PUCM aims to achieve this by providing direction and facilitating developmental opportunities for all, especially to youth.

Political Agenda:

– Equal electorate rights – Election not Selection.

– Increased representation, including women, in legislative forums at Federal and Provincial levels – Transparent census.

– Abolishment of minority wings in mainstream political parties – Increased political participation, equal status & allocation of general seats.

– Eradication of Socio-Political discrimination – Socio-economic empowerment.

– Elimination of religious intolerance – promotion of democratic and social values at grass roots levels.

– Revisiting of all discriminatory laws and sections of Constitution – Equal rights for all.

Mein Bhi Pakistan Hoon – Equality for all Pakistanis

Below is an article sent by Shamim Masih a Pakistani-Christian journalist that free lances often but can be read often at The article is a profile of Albert David speaking to Pakistani Christians undoubtedly with the goal of establishing a unity consensus. You need to be aware there are some very brave people standing for Christ in Muslim lands that are wholly unfriendly to Christianity and Christians. Shamim sent many photographs to demonstrate his point about Albert David which I am neglecting to post. You can also read the article with photos at HERE.

Minorities, particularly Christians, are deliberately sidelined in Pakistan

Emerging political leader become the most visible guest in the town during the advent carnival

By Shamim Masih

Sent: December 27, 2012 9:47 AM

ISALAMABAD PAKISTAN (SHAMIM MASIH): With the advent of December, Christians all over the world kicked off their preparations to celebrate the most important festival of the year ‘Christmas’ across the world including Pakistan.

With every passing day till the eve of Christmas, Pakistani Christians prepare to celebrate the festivity with zeal and enthusiasm, feeling the echo of church bells for the mid night services on Christmas eve that announce the birth of Jesus. While preparing for Christmas, the Christians living in Pakistan renew their spirit of celebrating Christmas which continues throughout the month. The programs and celebrations leading to Christmas include Christmas dinners, carol singing and other get together that have an element of sharing the joys of Christmas with the less fortunate.

Albert David – Chairman Pakistan United Christian Movement (PUCM) launched his new political party in October this year has created awareness in the town during the Christmas celebrations in the twin city. His presence bloom the events this year in the maximum annual Christmas programs in the town. Talking to the Christians he raised awareness among the Pakistani Christians to demand election not selection everywhere in the country.

Mr. Albert was invited to 25 programs organized by different churches, social organizations and community groups. PUCM chairman availed this wonderful opportunity not only to share the message of Christmas but also talked about the importance of Christian community to being vibrant and visible in the National political scene.

Chairman PUCM during his speeches focused on the true message and spirit of Christmas, unconditional love, peace, hope and most importantly sharing of joys with less fortunate. He also stressed upon Christians to actively participate in National politics to ensure their increased visibility and importance. He consistently emphasized on the need of unity under a political platform as that would become the rationale for other majority parties to acknowledge the importance of non-Muslim Pakistanis.

Talking about the constitutional amendments, Mr. Albert said that during the past 65 years of the National assembly, the 207 seats for parliamentarians were increased to 335, while the women’s seats were raised from 15 to 60.

However, the 10 number seats reserved for minorities the seats approved 30 years back, increased to 14, which is not proportional to its population increased. Even these seats were filled by selection, rather election, he added.

PUCM wants to aware not only Pakistan’s government, but also to the entire world that Pakistani Christians are being deprived of the deserving rights, even though in the foundation of the Pakistan. The time has come that all Pakistani Christians have to stand for their rights and we will not compromise on selection of the candidates liking of the majority parties. PUCM firmly believe that being Pakistanis we are equal citizen and will have equal rights.

SION: Stop Islamization of Nations Forms …

Pamela Geller is the Ann Coulter of the Counter-Jihad movement to expose the dark side of Islam usually through her Blog Atlas Shrugs. Geller has been recently elected to be the head of a transnational Counter-Jihad organization designed to unite all Counter-Jihadists put up a unified front against Leftist Multiculturalists and Muslim Apologists (most often she be read as Radical Muslim Apologists).

I am guessing the organization is a spin-off of the separate organizations internationally in which the U.S. one is called Stop Islamization of America (SIOA). The transnational version is called Stop Islamization of Nations (SION). I don’t know if anyone has made the connection or even if it was the intention, but think about this similarity: SION – Zion. I am certain Radical Islamic organizations will pick up on that right away. Anything similar to Zion will be viewed as pro-Israel. Imagine that a transnational pro-Israel organization that is not specifically made up of Jews. That is sure to send the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) – Stephen Coughlin Seminar on OIC – into apoplexy as well as the Muslim Brotherhood and their separate nation offshoots.

Any way here is the Yahoo News story that Pamela Geller Tweeted.

SION: Stop Islamization of Nations Forms International Activist Leadership Team, the SION President’s Council

By PR Newswire

Yahoo News

NEW YORK, Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Leaders of counter-jihad organizations from all over the world have announced the formation of the first activist leadership team uniting counter-jihadists in Europe, the U.S., Australia, India, Israel and elsewhere: the President’s Council of Stop Islamization of Nations (SION).

The President’s Council was formed after the extraordinary successful international counter-jihad rally in Stockholm on August 4, when the heads of the leading worldwide counter-jihad organizations held a series of workshops and planning meetings. The initial members of the President’s Council are SIOE’s Anders Gravers; Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll of the EDL; Debbie Robinson of the Q Society of Australia, Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller. The members of the newly formed council unanimously voted to elect Pamela Geller Council President.

Geller said in a statement: “I am honored. This is a momentous beginning to what I am confident will become a powerful force for defending freedom worldwide.”

The President’s Council differs from the SION Board, which includes Swiss parliamentarian Oskar Freysinger; Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media; Ashraf Rameleh of Voice of the Copts; Ali Sina, the renowned ex-Muslim author and founder of; Wafa Sultan, the ex-Muslim human rights activist and author; the German pro-freedom activist Stefan Herre of Politically Incorrect; the Israeli author Dr. Mordechai Kedar; the Hindu human rights activist Babu Suseelan; and Anders Gravers of Stop Islamisation of Europe (SIOE).

This Board functions in an advisory capacity, while the President’s Council is a steering committee. It functions as a mobile, proactive, reactive on-the-ground team developing and executing confidential action plans that strike at the heart of the global anti-freedom agenda.

The SION President’s Council’s next initiative will be the first session of the International Freedom Defense Congress, which will be held in New York on September 11, 2012. The principal focus of the Congress will be a media workshop pertaining to Islamic supremacist attempts to restrict the freedom of speech in the free world, and the smear campaigns against freedom fighters in newspapers and media institutions in the West.

The objective of this first-of-its-kind workshop is to develop media-related mechanisms to address the smear campaigns. It will also address the media’s double standard regarding Islam and other religions. The Congress will discuss at length the reasons behind and the results of the Western media’s offensive campaigns against freedom of speech and the truth about Islam, jihad, Islamic supremacism and Muslims.

The International Freedom Defense Congress will represent a quantum leap in media action, as it discusses, beyond rhetoric, the practical steps to address the phenomenon of the Islamic war against free speech.

SION establishes a common American/European coalition of free people determined to stand for freedom and oppose the advance of Islamic law, Sharia. Islamic law is not simply a religious system, but a political system that encompasses every aspect of life; is authoritarian, discriminatory, and repressive; and contradicts Western laws and principles in numerous particulars. SION respects Muslims as fellow human beings and rejects Islamization as a comprehensive political, religious, cultural and social system of behavior and ideology.

SION stands for:

§  The freedom of speech – as opposed to Islamic prohibitions of “blasphemy” and “slander,” which are used effectively to quash honest discussion of jihad and Islamic supremacism;

§  The freedom of conscience – as opposed to the Islamic death penalty for apostasy;

§  The equality of rights of all people before the law – as opposed to Sharia’s institutionalized discrimination against women and non-Muslims.
