Take a Stand with Christians in Muslim Dominated Nations

December marks a point when the spirit of Christmas motivates Christians to take on a sense of the Love of God and a hopeful future in Christ. Whether or not the Lord Jesus Christ was actually born as the Son of God in December or a more acceptable historical date (many historians think October) is irrelevant. The relevance is the meaning of the season.

Christmas is a good time to think of the Christians who are literally brutally persecuted even to death where they are a minority. Although Muslim nations are not the only place where Christians are a minority, it is in Muslims nations in which some of the cruelest persecutions take place rabidly against Christians. The ISIS genocidal acts against Christians may come to mind first among Westerners because the rarity of reporting on Christian persecution currently shows blips of ISIS slaughtering of Christians. If you know a way to aid these Brothers and Sisters in faith DO SO! If you don’t know a way, find a person or organization that does. Barring resources dear God in Heaven at least get on your knees and pray.

I have a Christian friend in Pakistan who is actually from Pakistan. His name is Shamim Masih. Pakistan Islamic persecution of Christians may not be on the level of ISIS; nonetheless it is still quite horrific. Shamim makes a meager living as a Christian journalist in Pakistan. Even though the living is meager, his activities are still devoted to human rights for his fellow Christians which includes whatever Christian love that can be offered on a ministerial basis.

Due to Shamim’s selfless devotion to the community of Christians in Pakistan (the Brothers and Sisters of ALL Christians) this is a good time to remember the work of people like Shamim. If you already support a person like Shamim, dear God in Heaven, KEEP DOING IT! If you have room in your budget to send some support Shamim’s way please do so. If you don’t have your version of a Shamim Masih, please consider supporting Shamim Masih. Especially during this Christmas season.

Below are the contents of two emails which were sent in late November to me from Shamim Masih. The first is a Christmas appeal. The second is a typical report from Shamim on the brutality experienced constantly by Christian Pakistanis from the Sunni Muslim majority of Pakistan.

Pertaining to the brutality of Muslims against Christians in Pakistan Shamim using a starting point of an interfaith harmony conference sponsored by Universal Nexus for Interfaith Trust & Engagement (UNITE). Frankly I am not certain how much Shamim agrees with my sentiments on the Antichrist nature of the Islamic religion. So I note with a dubious attitude toward the seemingly Muslim domination of this so-called interfaith harmony agenda of UNITE. As you will read below the conference took place between November 24 and 25 2015 in Islamabad. I’m cross posting the Slide Share presentation of this conference’s agenda for harmony between Islam and the religious minorities of Pakistan of which Christianity is one of many minorities.

Like so many Leftist multiculturalists and Muslim apologists, I find this agenda a bit misleading:

Slide Share Presentation:

Here are some selected excerpts from the UNITE agenda from the earlier parts of the Slide Share demonstration:

o This despite the fact that under Islam, the rights of minorities in Muslim societies are fully protected to ensure their complete security and harmony; and the same can be deemed ideal for any society.

o In order to ensure, safeguard and promote the rights of non-Muslims as enshrined in Islam …

o The head of UNITE is the country’s young, renowned religious leader Mufti Abu Huraira Mohiuddin, who is already rendering exemplary guidance by preaching patience and tolerance, religious harmony while educating youth about Islam’s progressive message in the country.

OBJECTIVES

o The main objective –

o Elaborate a clear connection between all the religions of the world with Islam.

o Strive for peaceful coexistence between all religions.

o Make aware Islam’s inclusiveness to all religions.

o Encourage and promote education for the larger public benefit concerning religious education among the different religions.

GOVERNING BODY

o The name, addresses and descriptions of the present members of the governing body are:

o Sardar Muhammad Yousaf – Patron in Chief

o Mufti Abu Huraira Mohiuddin – Chairman

o Mufti Abu Bakar Mohiuddin – Vice Chairman

o Sardar Shahjahan Yousaf – General Secretary

o Jameel ur Rehman – Joint Secretary

o Zee Waqar Ahmed – Finance Secretary

o Sajjad Ahmed – Secretary Information

Hmm … Does this sound like the Islam of the Quran, Hadith and Sira? “… under Islam, the rights of minorities in Muslim societies are fully protected to ensure their complete security and harmony …”

A deceptive Muslim answer is something like this: Islam insures the rights of minorities and fully protects the security and harmony of minorities. The thing is a Muslim fails to tell a non-Muslim is this promise is EXTREMELY conditional. In quoting the opening sentence of a pro-Islam website entitled “General Rules for dealing with non Muslims the proviso runs like this:

Islam orders Muslims to deal kindly and justly to all non Muslims as long as they do not oppose or oppress Muslims or place obstacles in the way of spreading Islam.

The key to understanding despotism in Islam is the part that says, “… as long as they do not oppose or oppress Muslims or place obstacles in the way of the spreading Islam.” The rest of this webpage tells you of all the justice of protection non-Muslims but fails in the extreme the retribution incurred for opposing or preventing the spread of Islam by example showing how much more compassionate your religious faith is than Islam. Oh baby just read the news to see how Muslims treat non-Muslims for breaking the above proviso.

Then check out the names of UNITE’s governing body. Every single one of these guys on this interfaith/harmony organization’s governing body are Muslim! Where the heck is the so-call interfaith harmony in UNITE’s body politic? The links embedded into the governing body are from me the Blog Editor.

At any rate moving on back to Shamim Masih. Please take a prayerful moment to contemplate on supporting his Christian work in Pakistan. Directly below Shamim provides an avenue to contact him to set up a support arrangement whether it is one-time or ongoing. At the end of the second Shamim email I provide a Western Union path to support Shamim. Sadly Shamim tells me nary a person has used that method so perhaps follow the instructions directly below.

God is good and Jesus Christ the Savior is Lord.

Make Christmas Special for Your Sponsored Child

Christmas traditions hold so much value in our lives. They help us comprehend more deeply the joy we sing about at Christmas—whether we’re building gingerbread houses, caroling throughout the community, hanging ornaments on the tree, or exchanging gifts, each tradition helps us embrace the miracle that become possible through Jesus . . . the firstborn of our eternal family! Christmastime awakens our appreciation for the ultimate reason for the occasion—the celebration of the greatest gift of all—Christ Jesus.

Many Christian families cannot afford and their children remain neglected. It really hearts me and this year I have planned to do something special. With your help I can reach many people. Many of you are witness to my services towards Christian community in the country.

This Christmas, you’re invited to share this incredible gift, along with some of your special traditions, with your sponsored child. Make them feel a part of your Christmas celebration. This year we have planned to support at least ten families.

Elimination of Violence

Persecution against Religious Minorities

By Shamim Masih

Sent: 11/29/2015 3:03 AM

ISLAMABAD: There was an International conference in Islamabad on 24-25 November, 2015 [UNITE.org and UtahReps.net], to create interfaith harmony and better interaction with religious minorities of the country. It was just a public show for the vested interest of a close relative of the Federal Minister Sardar Yousaf [Wikiwand] and some other people. Practically the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has shut down the role of Ministry of Interfaith Harmony and religious minorities has been facing the same kind of discrimination. Locally people see so little solidarity and harmony but religious extremists with a specific mind set continues to violate basic human rights with impunity. For the past weeks, we saw the continued horrific, religious rights violated daily. I just returned from Dist. Faisalabad where a Christian school girl, Sara, 8, has faced torture and was locked for an hour or so by her head teacher for using [school] toilet which is meant to use by Muslims only [Pakistan Christian Post]. This matter was raised in the Senate by the Senator Sharry [or Sherry] Rehman [Wikipedia]. Also Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani [Wikipedia] has ordered an inquiry [Christianity Today] on this issue but [so far] there is no result. A local Christian family is pressured to compromise with the education department. And this issue was dumped to death. Forced conversions, kidnappings and rapes of minority women is on and nobody bothers to look into this matter. Unfortunately some of Christian representatives are [too] busy to present a win- win situation to the West for their vested interests.

Tahir Naveed Chaudhry [Pakistan Minorities Alliance], chairman Pakistan Minority Alliance (PMA) has raised the issues facing minorities. Addressing to the conference, Tahir Naveed Chaudhry said that to create a better interaction between different religions of the country:

o The government should stop discriminatory behavior towards religious minorities.

o The government should provide minorities living rights.

o Forced conversions should stop.

o Minority seats in the Parliament house should be increased according to the population.

o There should be a transparent and fair census.

o Abuse and misuse of blasphemy law should end.

o Discriminatory material in text books should be banned.

Chaudhry said that discrimination in the legislation shows the dual face of the country, when Article 25 [PakistanConstitution.com] protect the rights of all citizen of the country but Article 41[http://sja.gos.pk] restricts the minority members to become president, and 18th Amendment has barred them to be the prime minister [18th Amendment 29(3)] of Pakistan. Pakistan must stop its discriminatory behavior.

The New Year can lessen the trouble from the previous year for the Pakistani minorities if government takes necessary measures to protect minorities. We are witness to the year-round occurrence and continue to an alarming degree of the violence against the Christians of the countries. Persecution against minorities is not only blasphemy allegations but is an attack on their bodily integrity and their dignity. Police brutality towards minorities is no secret [Christian Post]. There are number of cases been reported the suspicious deaths of Christians without police custody. Lack of interest towards complaints by the Christians minority has created a recognized level of impunity that exacerbates the situation in the country. Political influence on the judiciary and police has extended the forms and ways to violence and discrimination against the Christian minority. Most recently, in the capital, Islamabad, PML-N a sitting parliamentarian reportedly has used its power to grab land of Pak Development Foundation ® (PDF) of 1.2 acre, where PDF is running vocational institute as well. The local land grabber with the help of PML-N parliamentarian registered a First Investigation Report (FIR) -134/15, at Police Station (PS) Banni Gala, Islamabad [Blog Editor: If not the incident meant by Shamim, THIS is at least is an example of land grabbing practices] against PDF management and Basharat Khokhar [Christians in Pakistan], chief Coordinator United Church Council Islamabad (UCCI).

On the other hand the refusal by police officers to even register an FIR in most cases raised by Christians, illustrates that western nation assessment of “sufficiency of protection” are flawed at best – yet the big sponsors i.e. Britain, the European Union and the US the current status quo will continue or reach a nadir [Assist News Service]. The West is busy in bringing Legislative amendments to enable speedy return of asylum seekers to their home country. Benefits for asylum seekers have been reduced and rules for family immigration are tightened.

People across the globe simply have to challenge their politicians to intervene on behalf of Pakistani Christians or eventually this attrition will lead to the eradication of Christians in Pakistan. We need to place an emphasis on the universality of violence against religious minorities in Pakistan, the multiplicity of its forms and the ways in which violence, discrimination against minorities, and the broader system of domination based on subordination and inequality are inter-related. The value of interfaith harmony is that it serves as a time of analysis of the issue and then of re-dedication to take both short-term and longer-range measures.

Be Blessed,

Shamim Masih

Stop Raising Voice for Justice, Peace and Respect

ISLAMABAD: Let the voices of justice, peace, and respect for law enforcement be heard. People around the world have seen the iron man protecting a Christian minor girl Rimsha (accused of burning holy papers of Islamic verses that focused international attention on Pakistan’s unsympathetic blasphemy laws) up to a helicopter outside the prison, when she was released on bail. I have also seen him during the said case protecting her attorney Tahir Naveed Chaudhry during the case trial.Rimsha Masih & Basharat Khokhar at Helocopter Although Chaudhry’s role as a lawyer was not prominent but his presence was there which won her release on bail. Later Rana Abdul Hameed, Rimsha’s attorney came in and saved her skin up to the apex court. I am an eye witness and have seen him in or outside the Islamabad courts running in rain or sun. Although I knew him before but since then we came close to each other and working together for the rights of Christians. Rimsha was held in jail before getting bail, but the cleric was later accused of fabricating evidence and the case against the girl was dropped. Later Rimsha and her family found refuge in Canada. But this man is still under threat and facing threatening calls on routine basis. Yes, he is Basharat Masih Khokhar, a police official, who had been serving as a security guard with Shahbaz Bhatti, a slain Federal Minister for minorities in Islamabad.

Basharat Khokher has been struggling for Christian rights for many years. In November, 2008, he was accused of harsh blasphemy law and a First Investigation Report (FIR) 267/08 was registered against him under 295-C and 109 Pakistan Penal Code, when he was saving a Christian colony in Rawal Dam Islamabad. He was arrested in the same case in January, 2009 and was put into prison. He remained in the jail for five months and was released on bail from Islamabad High Court on June, 2009. After he was released on bail, he was appointed as security guard to Shahbaz Bhatti, a Federal Minister for minorities. After the assassination of Shahbaz Bhatti on March 2011, he worked with Dr. Paul Bhatti, his brother, during this time he left no stone unturned to save the minor Christian girl Rimsha’s life. Finally his case was discharged on the baseless allegation on June, 2011. Since then, he is under constant threats. According to him, he received many threatening calls and was attacked on September 9, 2012 at Zero point Islamabad. Basharat Khokher’s car was damaged and received injuries. Later he filed a complaint in Abbpara police station, Islamabad. On December 15, 2012, the same group followed him to his house and attacked his house. He sent his family into hiding for fear his family members would be attacked again.

Most recently, he complained at the police station and said that on December 19, 2014 at 10:37 pm, he received a phone call from a landline number that threatened him and asked to stop raising a voice against terrorism. He said that he held candle vigil against the terrorist attack in Peshawar Army ran school, which left 147 people killed including 132 school children. The voice told him to keep in mind the scene of carnage of Shahbaz Bhatti and Salman Taseer, governor Punjab.

This is really pathetic that we cry over spilled milk but do not take protective measures when the situation can be controlled and the life of a man can be saved. I have seen many Christian rights defenders [that are] much active on social media but there are few who really work hard to safe guard other’s rights, Basharat Khokhar is one of them, who act on the rights of Christian from foot. I think, he is an asset and human rights organizations should come in to raise a voice against the extremists who work behind the radicalism.

Pakistan’s Blasphemy Law vs. U.S. Constitution and Culture

Sharia Erases Liberty toon

Leftist Race Baiting is America’s of Executing Blasphemy Law

John R. Houk

© October 1, 2014

Shamim Masih is providing a follow-up (scroll below my thoughts) on the rumors and status of the Christian Zafar Bhatti who has been convicted for committing blasphemy in Pakistan.

As Shamim Masih reported yesterday in his report “CLAAS has nothing to do with Zafar Bhatti case, says Basharat Khokhar,” Pakistani Christian Zafar Bhatti has not been receiving the material and legal support publicized by the Pakistan Christian Civil Rights organization CLAAS. Regardless of the initial reported rumors, Bhatti is alive, unwounded but not well. This is the horrendous blasphemy Pakistan law that was supposedly committed and indeed convicted for (Sources on legal issues):

Zafar Bhatti is accused of blasphemy under Pakistan’s 295C blasphemy law. He was charged in July 2012, based on rumors that he insulted Muhammad’s mother in text messages. Zafar worked selling medicines, and he often went door-to-door with his presentation. He also used those opportunities to share Christ in the various homes, reading the Bible and praying with families. He also established a small NGO called “Jesus World Mission” [NGO link on Facebook] whose purpose was to assist the poor.

On July 11, 2012, he was accused by a fellow NGO worker of sending blasphemous text messages from a mobile phone that she had given him. Zafar and his wife left the village to avoid a massive riot. Police arrested him on July 26, charging him under 295c of the legal code, which are informally called the “blasphemy laws.”

In jail, Zafar has been beaten several times. Someone also tried to poison his food. Several of the Muslim prisoners pressure him, saying if he accepts Islam he will be forgiven. Zafar’s sister and wife are quite concerned for his well-being in prison as his case moves through the legal system. “Pray that God will help my brother stay strong in his faith,” said his sister. (Prisoner Alert: Zafar Bhatti; reposted from Persecution Blog [that link now dead]; Before It’s News; 9/4/13 12:32)

Once again, Pakistan’s blasphemy law has been used to bring unsubstantiated charges against members of religious minorities. Rev Zafar Bhatti, president of the Jesus World Mission, is in prison after he was accused of violating the ‘black law.’ Judges now must decide whether or not to heed the appeal made on his behalf and release him on bail. A Muslim leader said the Christian clergyman sent him text messages that insulted Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. Catholic leaders and human rights activists have responded immediately, pleading for his innocence, noting that police has been subjected to pressures and that the case is vitiated by errors in law.

Rev Bhatti hails from Karachi, but moved to Lahore in 2010, in Nawaz Sharif Colony, where he has worked on behalf of local Christians and religions minorities for the past two years. On 10 July, he decided to move with his family to the capital Islamabad. The next day, Ahmed Khan, deputy Secretary of the local Jamat Ehl-e-Sunnat, unexpectedly filed a complaint against the Christian clergyman at the New Town police station, in Rawalpindi.

According to the police report, Khan received some text messages on his mobile phone with insulting language towards Muhammad’s mother from an unregistered but visible number, which he kept in the phone’s memory. At the police station, he said that if the agents did not open an investigation for blasphemy under article 295-C of the Penal Code, his organisation would take matters in its own hands.

Police arrested Rev Bhatti on 16 July and his sister-in-law Nasreen Bibi. In custody, the pastor was physically abused and tortured to extract a confession but he stood his ground, rejecting the accusation and insisting on his innocence.

“Zhaffar Bhatti is innocent,” said Khalid Jill, of APMA. “We are going to fight for his release.” In his view, police began a case against him under “pressure,” but we “are going to appeal because he was charged under the wrong article of the law.”

Mgr Rufin Anthony, bishop of Islamabad-Rawalpindi, is of the same opinion. “How can police be sure” about the offender’s identity? “It is clear that it is a case of personal animosity,” probably in connection with some land. (Christian leader falsely charged of blasphemy in Islamabad; By Jibran Khan; AsiaNews.it; 8/13/12)

Zafar is accused of sending blasphemous cell phone text messages to an Islamic cleric. Problem is, Zafar is illiterate and would have no way of knowing how to write a text message.

The Pakistan contact says Zafar survived an assassination attempt in prison March 31. Apparently poison was placed in his food, causing him to bleed from his nose and mouth.

Here’s a portion of the email sent to me about Pakistani Christian prisoner Zafar Bhatti:

“Muslim prisoners told him he would be forgiven (for the alleged blasphemy incident) if he accepted Islam. But he refused to accept Islam. Muslim prisoners are trying to kill him… and are saying they will tell jail authorities that he is using bad language about Prophet Mohammed. Zafar’s sister says ‘everyday Muslim prisoners come around Zafar and call him kafar (infidel) and use bad language against him and Christianity.’ They are giving him mental torture. Zafar’s life is in danger in jail.” (Pakistani Prisoner in Urgent Need of Prayer; By Gary Lane; Blogs CBN.comThe Global Lane; 7/17/13 11:43 AM)

Zaffar Bhatti was poisoned in Jail and suffered unsasnitory (sic) living conditions which affected his legs and body, yet he survived. And as he hailed the Name of Jesus loud and clear echoing in the prison cell walls, the prison inmates and the guards became astonished and asked what was that? They never heard how Christians hail the name of Jesus aloud. But since then, they have kept their silence and refrained from persecuting Zaffar Bhatti. https://www.facebook.com/notes/jesus-world-mission/zaffar-bhatti-wins-his-safety-in-jail-through-jesus-name/653922414625661 (Updates on Zaffar Bhatti: Chairman Jesus World Mission; By Ahsan Nabi Khan; Ahsan Nabi’s Blog; 9/20/13)

I want you to notice the large bulk of this information is NOT from any Mainstream Media sources. The irony is if you Google ‘Zafar Bhatti’ most Mainstream Media sources still have the rumors that he was killed in Adayla Prison awaiting execution for the absurd Blasphemy conviction.

The Christians on death row for Blasphemy convictions are growing all the time. To my knowledge no one has been executed as yet. On the other hand death row Christians are victims often victims of attempted murder or murder by guards and/or inmates. Zafar Bhatti is an example of the many Pakistani Christians that are relatively unknown in America because our media has opted not to report on the horrendous treatment of Christians in Pakistan unless it is a catastrophic event in which many Christians die.

Shamim Masih is openly soliciting donations for care of Zafar’s legal bills and for his family that also live constantly under the threat of Muslim mob violence or mob execution. If you read this and KNOW someone or some Organization that can offer some very needed support Zafar you can send money directly to Shamim Masih who was contacted by Zafar’s family to get the word out on the Christian Pastor’s precarious life and death situation. For Americans willing to step up, the best way is through Western Union. Here is the Shamim Masih contact information to send money via Western Union for Shamim to present to the Zafar Bhatti family:

For Americans especially, I have discovered the best way to donate to Shamim Masih is via Western Union sending this LINK to a Western Union agent in Islamabad. Include Shamim’s phone – +92-300-642-4560

By clicking “LINK” above Western Union will take you through the process of donating in U.S. Dollars in which Western Union converts to Rupees. Shamim’s phone is needed because that is how Western Union contacts Shamim to make him aware funds are available.

If you desire a tax deduction for your giving you need to find a reputable organization that has the proper U.S. Non-Profit tax status to that will contribute to the needs of Zafar Bhatti and his family.

OR try contacting Tahir Naveed Chaudhary the Chairman of the Pakistan Minorities Alliance (PMA) specifying on how to help Zafar Bhatti: HERE.

There is more donation methods toward Shamim Masih at the end of his update report posted after my thoughts entitled, “Zafar Bhatti blasphemy accused is perfectly fine, says his wife Nawab Bibi”.

Can you imagine the silliness of being convicted to a death sentence for voicing your opinion about Mohammed in a negative way? If such laws existed in the USA I would have been lynched long ago. As a Christian living in the land of Liberty I often condemn the theology of Islam directly from that so-called religion of peace’s own revered books such as the Quran, Hadith and Sira. The Quran is considered immutable even by devoted Muslims that call themselves Moderate. It is misleading that the Quran is not presented in a chronological order because there are basically two sides of a coin in the book. One side concentrating mostly form Mohammed’s home town of Mecca prior to fleeing are all about peace and toleration through Allah. The flip side of the coin are Mohammed’s words and actions in Medina which by Western standards are quite lecherous, greedy, brutal and intolerant. According to Islamic theology, especially as seen through the Sunni sect and Abrogation, the Medina portion of the Quran outweighs the Mecca portion when consulted on a theo-political jurisprudence matter. I do not have an irrational fear of Islam as the word ‘Islamophobia’ might indicate, rather I have a very rational dislike for the Islam that is very anti-Christian (ergo antichrist religion) and anti-Jewish (ergo antisemitic) in their holy writings. Thank God I have the right to expose the essence of Islam’s antichrist nature in America. Pakistan I probably wouldn’t make it to the court house before Christ-hating Islamic Supremacists murdered me for my beliefs as blasphemous to Mohammed, Allah and Islam in general.

Every charge of Blasphemy in Pakistan is an attack on Civil Rights issues taken for granted in the United States of America. We as Americans have the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. (Bold text mine)

In America the Constitution is nearly holy writ for the American way of life. Hence Religious Freedom and Free Speech is protected even if individuals, people of devout faith, atheists or various political ideologies are offended. As Americans when a person or group of a divergent faith, no faith or political persuasion offends another American; the offended vents in written or peaceful protest form. Violent responses has become as heinous crimes in the minds of all Americans of faith, no faith, race, gender and politics. Now it is true peaceful protests have evolved into violence but this has occurred less and less in the USA since the 1960s. These days when violence does erupt it is almost never to do with religion or politics, rather when the perception of a minority race that their race has experienced a horrendous rupture in Civil Rights, the minority breaks out into violence. These days the majority population as a whole rarely if ever instigates violent protest over an incident. This was not the case during the 1960s and the very early 1970s in which the Civil Rights Movement was forcing the White majority to abandon long-time prejudices primarily against African-Americans (Black Community).

The Southern U.S. had been entrenched in the hostility toward Black Americans having the same Equal Rights as White Americans because of the former Black Slave status ended with the North (Union) victory over the South (Confederacy) States effectively ending the institution of slavery but not the White attitude toward former slaves. The 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution became the foundation to provide Equal Rights to American minorities even though the end of the slavery of Black Americans was the purpose. Those Amendments became ratified in 1865, 1868 and 1870 respectively. BUT full implementation was not forced upon the segregationist South and various non-South urban areas until the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. That is roughly 100 year variance between slavery emancipation and the enforcement of Civil Rights.

This is my point: other than some race baiting by certain politicians (coughPresident Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and more), Civil Rights violence has nearly ceased to exist. Regardless of the fact that discrimination does still exist it is not even close to the level that Black Americans experienced prior to the forced policies of the Civil Rights policies of the U.S. government in the 1960s and early 1970s.

As I was researching the limited sources I could access pertaining to Zafar Bhatti and his family I discovered that Zafar’s sister – Nasreen Bibi – experienced a tragedy at the hands of Muslims in 2010. Then 12 year old Shazia Bashir worked for a Muslim family as a domestic servant. When her parents were finally granted access to their daughter they found her tortured with cuts to her body of which Shazia eventually succumbed to in the hospital. At any rate forgive me for interjecting the U.S. Constitution be sure to read about Zafar Bhatti’s very urgent needs as reported by Shamim Masih.

Zafar Bhatti blasphemy accused is perfectly fine, says his wife Nawab Bibi

Shamim Masih, Basharat Khokhar, Nasreen Bibi & Nawab Bibi

ISLAMABAD: Zafar Bhatti accused of blasphemy case confined in the Central Jail Adiala (or Adayla) Rawalpindi, is perfectly fine and fit, says his wife Nawab Bibi after visiting him in the jail on September 29, 2014. She is thankful to Tahir Naveed Chaudhary, Chairman Pakistan Minorities Alliance – PMA and Basharat Khokhar, Rights Activist for arranging their visit to Adayla Jail.

According to the details; there were rumors that Zafar Bhatti a victim of the 295-C [Blasphemy Law] imprisoned in Adayla Jail, was attacked after the attack of Muhammad [perhaps also Ali] Asghar, another blasphemy victim in the same premises. A police constable named Yousaf attacked Muhammad Asghar on September 25, 2014; he received a gunshot and was taken to the hospital and is still under treatment. Since then there were unverified reports [that Zafar was killed] and Zafar’s family was worried about him.

Early morning on 29th September, Tahir Naveed Chaudhary chairman PMA and Basharat Khokhar took Nawab Bibi and Nasreen Bibi and went to see Blasphemy victim Pastor Zafar Bhatti. They met Zafar in the jail and found him in good health. Tahir Naveed Chaudhary, who has been attorney to Rimsha (a minor girl, victim of blasphemy), said it was [his] first visit after the speculations and after the fact finding. We decided to take care of the family and the case as well. PMA has decided to provide assistance to the family and legal aid for the accused. Basharat Khokhar, a member [of] civil society, said that I voluntarily [provided] assist[ance] to the persecuted because I have faced the same charges. Human Rights champions work [assistance] as a business but I am passionate to save the beleaguered community.

Nawab Bibi, wife of the Zafar Bhatti, supported Basharat Khokhar and said that he [has] been helping us since the case is registered. Joseph Francis [of CLAAS] came to us and had a photo session, he also provided us assistance of Rs. 5000 twice, and she [had] answered when asked about the CLAAS assistance provision. Nasreen Bibi, sister of Zafar Bhatti, said he [i.e. Joseph Francis] is [the] least [to] bother solving the case and seems interested to prolong the case for his vested interest. That is the reason he uses delay tactics in the case. Both females showed their confidence on these gentlemen [i.e. Tahir Naveed Chaudhary and Basharat Khokhar].

The group came to my house after their meeting with Zafar Bhatti in the jail.

Persecution against religious minorities is very common in Pakistan. But it is observed that some Human Rights champions, without realizing the pain of the victims, play with the life of the poor Christian families.

All Saints Church in Peshawar is Under Attack

Peshawar Pakistan 2

I just posted a Shamim Masih article about the corrupt political system in Pakistan that discriminates minorities with a focus on Christian-Pakistanis. As I was going through my emails I discovered Shamim had sent some news info about two Islamic Terrorist homicidal suicide bombers detonating themselves in an over 100 year old Christian Church killing and maiming Christian-Pakistanis.

Shamim was not privy to all the details by the time he sent the story to me. It has been discovered that the homicidal suicide bombers were the Taliban. The very group of Islamic terrorists that Pakistan’s government has been openly trying to negotiate a political peace because the political party running the show won their election based on demonizing the USA’s Global War on Terrorism (you know – the war that Obama says we are not fighting).

All Saints Church in Peshawar is Under Attack

Peshawar: The Sunday Church Service at All Saints Church in Peshawar ended in heartbreak as two suicide bombers blew themselves up while the Sunday service just ended. [The explosion] killed more than 90 worshipers, 34 of them women, 7 children and more than 110 were injured. According to the Minister of Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan the situation is different but Church sources said the death toll is expected to rise as many of the injured are in a critical condition. [The] interior minister said that the government would bear the cost of rebuilding the damaged church and declared three days mourning. Many other organizations announced the same. Peshawer blast Christian Victims

Peshawar [is the] capital city of KPK province, 188 Km away from the capital Islamabad. All Saints Memorial Church was its distinctive Saracen architecture first opened for service in December 1983 [Editor: I am guessing Shamim meant 1883 – See Also HERE]. The church is located in Kohati gate, an inner city area of the city. The church capacity is about 500 – 600 and usually the gathering is around [that number]. After the church service on Sunday, a person blows himself up and little later another man did the same thing. The blast shattered the glass panes of the nearby houses. Police said that the terrorists opened fire at the security guards at the entrance of the church, possibly killing one. The security’s agency said it was a suicide bombing [and] no group has as yet taken responsibility for this [Editor: As of this posting it is reported it was the Taliban]. They said each of the bombers was carrying eight kg of explosives. The federal government has decided to tighten the security for minorities and the institutions after this incident.

As the country was staggered by the latest bomb blast and Christians all around the country came on the roads to protest against it. Sohail Johnson, chairman Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan lead the protest rally in Lahore in front of the press club, Lahore and in Youhanabad and went to Peshawar city with his group. He said that he is going to provide them with medicine and food items as required. Bishop Yaqoob Paul also participated in the protest rally. Nadeem Anthony Advocate High Court, Yousaf Kamran, Human Rights Activist, Christian Protest Church BombingShaleem Yousaf, social activists also participated in protest rally in Lahore.

Albert David chairman Pakistan United Christian Movement left for Peshawar as soon as he heard about this sad incident. Tahir Naveed Chaudhry condemned the blast and said protection of minorities is a central duty of the state but unfortunately it didn’t do [such protection]. Protest rally was [centered] around the condemnation of the bombing in Islamabad/Rawalpindi as well, Samuel Yaqoob led this rally.

Dr. Paul Bhatti left for Peshawar and strongly condemned the bomb blast and said that terrorists have no religion. He expressed solidarity with the families injured.

Man of Letter and Spirit

Tahir Naveed Chaudhry & Shamim Masih

Shamim Masih writes of how Pakistani-Christians of means too often forsake the needs of Pakistani-Christians in abject poverty. Shamim then proceeds with a glimmer of hope in the person of Tahir Naveed Chaudhry (Shamim and others abbreviate the last name as “Ch.”) who has formed a Political Party that aims to be a voice of minorities (not just Christians) that are overwhelmed with discrimination by Pakistan’s Sunni majority.

According to the sources, Tahir Chaudhry has launched a political party with the name, Pakistan Minorities Alliance (PMA) aims to protect Christians’ rights in the country. Talking to the media at the launching ceremony he said that minorities in the country are being targeted frequently during the past decades. I am devoted to serve my community and have spared my life to protect their rights, he said. Man of Letter and Spirit

ISLAMABAD: Life of the slum settlers is perhaps the most heart-wrenching thing that I have ever encountered…… I have had the privilege of traveling to many places, but in all of visits, I have never encountered poverty like this – streets flowing with open sewage, garbage rotting everywhere. I know that this is where Jesus would be if He were here right now. If we are not willing to be here, too, then perhaps something is wrong with us. Perhaps we have grown callus to what Christ has done for us – to the call to dedicate our lives to serving Him and “Going into the entire world to share the Good News!” let’s forget about ourselves long enough to lend a helping hand to other marginalized community.

I usually write and try to be the voice of the people who face persecution by any means. And some [for] time people facing violation ask for some help which is beyond my control. I have to say sorry as I am not [in] this position to do so. Frankly speaking; I am one of those who need support. Anyway, for some time I requested some human rights champions for [times such as] this, sometimes they [make] promises which they do not even fulfill. In the past month, two young Christian girls from the slum area of the capital [were] accused of a theft case in a beauty parlor. Unfortunately human rights champion Joseph Francis (CLAAS) said when asked to provide them legal assistance, this doesn’t come in our policy. I have been not [able] to understand [what] is important in their policy [pertaining to] a life of common Christians in their [donors] name that Joseph Francis is getting funds. Should I ask the policy makers therein, whether the blasphemy accused [that] come under persecution [are a part of the policy funding]? I don’t know about the donors’ agencies policy, what are the criteria they have derived for it? The families were being helped out by one of my Muslim colleagues. He smashes on the Christians [NGO] organizations who always claim [such advocacy for the persecuted].

As every Pakistani knows damn well, Christians are among the most downtrodden and vulnerable people in Pakistan, especially since the passage of the despicable blasphemy law during the Zia ul Haq dictatorship. The moral and political health of any society is expressed in how it treats its most vulnerable citizens.

In spite of this critical situation a man who lends his hand to the entire minorities, especially Christians [is Tahir Naveed Chaudhry]. I still love Pakistan, despite everything. That should not be surprising; I also love my own country, and my friends and family, despite their faults, as I trust them to love me despite mine, says Tahir Naveed Ch.

Yes! He is man who accepts this challenging role in this society. Yes, he is the man, who has been Rimsha’s attorney during the time when she was [not known much by the world]. [Rimsha was] a minor Christian girl accused of a blasphemy case in Islamabad (the capital). Yes, he is the man, who not only struggled for her freedom but protected her during her case trial.

It was a day on August 11, 2013, when he has taken an initiative to launch his political party at his home place Sarghoda Dist. There were more than 300 participants there, listening carefully to his future plan. Let’s see and pray for how long he could be able to prove himself [to be] a man of letter and spirit.

Be Blessed,

Shamim Masih
