Head of NASA Praises Prayer and Christian Influence in Government: Left Has Orbital Meltdown

I live in Oklahoma. As such this post from Geri Ungurean on her blog Absolute Truth from the Word of God about former Oklahoma Representative Jim Bridenstine (my District roughly representing Tulsa) tapped to be Administrator of NASA by President Trump got my attention.

One Nation Under God by Jon McNaughton

Evidently Bridenstine is not shy about his Christian faith and it’s driving Leftists and Separation of Church/State activists nuts. Ungurean begins with SCOTUS concurring atheistic doctrine can simulate religion then goes into the fallacy of Separation of Church and State. Then Ungurean examines how Bridenstine Church/State Separation activists crazy.

Absolute Truth from the Word of God

Jim Bridenstine

Did you know that The Supreme Court has said a religion need not be based on a belief in the existence of a supreme being? In the 1961 case of Torcaso v. Watkins, the court described “secular humanism” as a religion.

And in 2005, a Federal court deemed “Atheism” a religion.

Read about that decision here:

From wnd.com  — written in 2005

Court Rules Atheism a Religion

Decides 1st Amendment protects prison inmate’s right to start study group

A federal court of appeals ruled yesterday Wisconsin prison officials violated an inmate’s rights because they did not treat atheism as a religion.

“Atheism is [the inmate’s] religion, and the group that he wanted to start was religious in nature even though it expressly rejects a belief in a supreme being,” the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals said.

The court decided the inmate’s First Amendment rights were violated because the prison refused to allow him to create a study group for atheists.

Brian Fahling, senior trial attorney for the American Family Association Center for Law & Policy, called the court’s ruling “a sort of Alice in Wonderland jurisprudence.”

“Up is down, and atheism, the antithesis of religion, is religion,” said Fahling.

The Supreme Court has said a religion need not be based on a belief in the existence of a supreme being. In the 1961 case of Torcaso v. Watkins, the court described “secular humanism” as a religion. source

But if a person has the audacity to mention “God” or “Prayer to Him” in public; in this case in front of a Christian ministry by the HEAD of NASA– the reaction of the atheists is anger and of course citing the “Wall of Separation of Church and State.  So, the employees of NASA are attempting to take away a person’s freedom of speech because it will make them look bad – you know, guilt by association.

UNREAL

Let’s get something straight before I post about the Left’s response to the head of NASA (who happens to be a Christian).

You will not find “Separation of Church and State” anywhere in our Constitution.  The Left will tell you it’s there, but that’s a lie. This lie has been repeated so many times that the average person believes it.

So, where did the saying originate?

Satan is a liar and the father of them.  He is also the author of confusion.  He took our First Amendment and twisted it, just as he does with God’s Holy Word.

Here is the First Amendment of our Constitution:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Do you  see in the First Amendment the verbiage “Separation of Church and State?”

Neither do I.

We don’t see it because it is NOT there.  The First Amendment was given its place of prominence because our Founding Fathers wanted to insure that the government would never establish a “religion” that would be forced upon the American people; and that we would always have freedom of speech.

Then why do we hear this clause so much?

In 1802, a group of Baptist ministers from Danbury, CT wrote to Thomas Jefferson. They were concerned about the possibility that the State would impose a denomination and their freedom to worship as Baptists might be in jeopardy.

Here is Thomas Jefferson’s response to these CT pastors:

Jefferson’s Letter to the Danbury Baptists

The Final Letter as sent:

To messers. Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut.

Gentlemen

“The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful and zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, & in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more and more pleasing.

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.”  (Emphasis mine)

Th Jefferson
Jan. 1. 1802.

In the past 100 years, the phrase “Wall of Separation between Church and State” (taken from Jefferson’s letter) has been misconstrued  to mean that anything to do with Religion must be separate from State or Federal Government.

First of all, as I said before – the phrase “Separation of Church and State” is found no where in the Constitution.  God-hating individuals have repeatedly used this statement (which was to PROTECT the Christians) so many times, that the average person on the street will tell you that this is part of America’s Constitution.

And don’t forget that this man (Jim Bridenstine) was addressing a Christian Ministry – NOT an audience filled with NASA employees!

Brethren, you should print this article out so that you can speak truth to a person who is parroting the lie that this clause is found in our Constitution!

NASA Chief Finds Space for Faith

April 18, 2019

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand the First Amendment. Or maybe, after the spat over a speech by NASA’s Jim Bridenstine, it does. Thanks to the double standards of secularism, public officials can’t even talk about faith without making headlines. It’s no wonder, then, that when the head of America’s space program gave remarks at a Christian ministry, even he had trouble finding signs of intelligence in the criticism that followed.

Capitol Ministries [Blog Editor’s Link], the organization that Jim has supported for years, is hardly controversial. Nine of the president’s 15 cabinet officials are sponsors of the ministry — whose aim is simple: influencing government with biblical teachings. During his talk, Bridenstine even talked about the importance of that goal and what it means in the context of these times. “I love what Ralph said earlier: We’re not trying to Christianize the U.S. government. We believe in an institutional separation, but we also believe in influence. And that’s a big distinction and an important distinction, and that’s why I love this ministry.”

Jim couldn’t have been more clear: No one in the Trump administration is trying to create a theocracy. They just want the same freedom to bring their personal views to bear on public policy that liberals have. Still, secularists like Business Insider’s Dave Mosher, seem intent on dragging Bridenstine through the mud for daring to talk about actual NASA history — like Buzz Aldrin’s communion on the moon and the Apollo 8 astronauts’ Bible reading in orbit.

In a 2,000-word rant about the faith of Trump’s team, Mosher insists that “Some ethics and legal experts outside NASA have expressed concern over Bridenstine’s speech. They believe it ran afoul of the establishment clause of the First Amendment, which outlines a separation of church and state, and might have also violated ethics rules for federal executives.” Quoting people like Virginia Canter of Citizens for Responsible Ethics, Mosher tries to paint Bridenstine as a typical Establishment Clause abuser. “One’s personal beliefs must be respected, but when appearing in an official capacity, you have to adhere to certain ethical standards,” Canter explained. “One is not to give the impression that you are officially endorsing any products or service or enterprise.”

Funny, where was Mosher when Barack Obama was headlining political fundraisers for Planned Parenthood? Or worse, invoking God’s blessing on the abortion giant? Everyone from Hillary Clinton to Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have not only endorsed the group’s “service” — but funneled hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to it. No one seemed to care when they appeared in their official capacities to preach the gospel of abortion. But put a Christian on the stage from the Trump administration — encouraging something as innocent as prayer — and they’re a walking ethics violation! This is NASA, for crying out loud. What are they worried about? Jim sending astronauts to evangelize the galaxy?

If secularists are upset about Bridenstine’s speech, then they should have been shaking the White House gates over the last administration’s agenda for the space agency. How quickly we forget those shocking comments in 2010 when President Obama told NASA administrator Charles Bolden that his new mission should be “to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations…” If you’re looking for a textbook abuse of public office, I’d say start with the Obama administration. After that, giving a few remarks at a charity function seems like small potatoes.

But hypocrisy is the name of the Democratic game. Like Secretary Mike Pompeo and countless other Trump officials before him, Bridenstine is just the latest target of an intolerant Left whose only goal is purging faith from public life and history. If activists can’t get Christians to stay quiet, then they’ll try to drive them out of government altogether. That will be tough to do in this administration, thanks to the fearless leadership of Trump. If his team has learned anything, it’s how to stand up to bullies. That shouldn’t be hard for a man Jim Bridenstine. He was already light years ahead of the opposition. source

I say WELL DONE to the head of NASA!  He is not ashamed of our Lord Jesus before men, and neither will Jesus be ashamed of him before His Father!

But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:33).

A MESSAGE TO MY [Geri Ungurean] READERS

Brethren,

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for subscribing to “Absolute Truth From the Word of God.”

Many of you have been so generous by sending gifts to my P.O. Box. It’s always so surprising and warms my heart when I see gifts from my readers.

Here is the address for the P.O. Box:

Geri Ungurean
PO BOX 1031
Savage, MD 20763

But I did something recently that I did not feel comfortable about. I added a “Donate” button which I just took down.  My husband and I had a scare (and it’s not over) We received a letter from the VA stating that the government is looking at the money paid out to disabled Veterans and they may be cutting back the amount. Tim  was in the Vietnam war and volunteered for Desert Storm.

Anyway, I told hubby that I should try to find a full time job.  He was against that because of my health issues and also he said that it would cut back the writing ministry. And who is going to hire a woman who is almost 68? LOL!

So, friends urged me to place a donate button on the site.  I haven’t felt right since I did that. It was like saying to God that I didn’t trust Him that He would take care of us.  It’s like a heavy weight has been lifted off since I took down that Donate button!

Your prayers are much needed and so appreciated for this ministry, and I thank you so very much for adding us to your prayer list!

I love you all so much!

I can’t wait to meet you in heaven as we worship our Precious Jesus together!

What a Glorious Day that will be!

Extreme LGBTQ Minority Crazy Political Clout

John R. Houk

© September 17, 2017

The ungodly LGBTQ must be concerned if sentient non-earth people will be offended if a Family/Biblical values person heads NASA. Apparently, the homosexual lobby fears space aliens might be influenced in the space exploration of the final frontier.

Rep. Jim Bridenstine’s (R-OK) NASA nomination is being opposed because he is wise enough to not agree with a Gay lifestyle. Of course, the Leftist MSM is lining up behind the godless LGBTQ. How can a group of people who ONLY represent 4.1% of the population (Pew Research 2016) have that kind of political clout? If you can’t agree that the LGBTQ is a special Rights group of people you must be a racist evil homophobe. As if homosexuals are a race of people rather than a group of people that chose a deviant lifestyle.

Yup, I said “deviant”. I don’t care if Medical organizations, Psychologist organizations, and/or Psychiatric organizations were essentially pressured decades ago into normalizing homosexuals rather than keeping with their original analysis that same-sex relations is deviant.

The American Psychiatric Association (APA) was harassed by political pressure rather than scientific data to end the mental deviancy listing of homosexual practices:

They [i.e. Rogers H. Wright and Nicholas A. Cummings] got established and revered practitioners to write chapters which explore these important issues. The following regarding the removal of homosexuality from the DSM in 1973 was written as a matter of verifiable fact:

“The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association yielded suddenly and completely to political pressure when in 1973 it removed homosexuality as a treatable aberrant condition. A political firestorm had been created by gay activists within psychiatry, with intense opposition to normalizing homosexuality coming from a few outspoken psychiatrists who were demonized and even threatened, rather than scientifically refuted. Psychiatry’s House of Delegates sidestepped the conflict by putting the matter to a vote of the membership, marking for the first time in the history of healthcare that a diagnosis or lack of diagnosis was decided by popular vote than by scientific evidence”(page 9) The truth on how homosexuality was removed from the DSM by APA – Commentary on Dr Yik’s response to Lawrence Khong; POSTED BY CONCERNEDSGCITIZEN; Homosexuality and Science; 9/14/13

I can’t blame the article writer using a pseudonym. Homosexual activists use both defamation – to shame – and violence – to strike fear – against truth tellers to silence them from the American public.

Here is a brief description when science was abandoned for submission to political pressure:

  • 1973 – Board of Trustees of The American Psychiatric Association (APA) approves the deletion of homosexuality from the DSM-II and substitutes a diagnosis of “sexual orientation disturbance.” Intense discussion and debate followed.

  • On Dec 15 1973, the Board of Trustees of the APA voted to delete homosexuality altogether from the DSM. Opposition from several psychiatrists immediately followed. A referendum on the Board’s decision was called.

  • 1974 – the entire membership of the APA was polled for their support or rejection of the Board’s decision. žOf the 10,000 voting members, nearly 40% opposed the Board’s decision to normalize homosexuality. Decision was hardly unanimous. (Controversially, a survey conducted in 1979 asked 10,000 psychiatrists if they felt homosexuality “usually represented a pathological adaptation.” ž69% of respondents said “yes,” and 60% said homosexual men were less capable of “mature, loving relationships” than heterosexual men.)

The author of Destructive Trends in mental health was right to conclude:

“Diagnosis today in psychology and psychiatry is cluttered with politically correct verbiage, which seemingly has taken precedence over sound professional experience and scientific validation.” (Ibid.)

Since the APA barely removed homosexuality as a deviant mental disorder, the American Left and Homosexual Activists were well armed with the needed propaganda to slowly persuade the American public to accept ungodly homosexuality.

Even a recent scientific study revealed by Life Site circa November 2016 show homosexuality is not normal:

Those who are setting our so-called “values”, such as the small but powerful group of academics, mainstream media, and homosexual activists, do so by attempting to impose strange myths and ideas that have no scientific basis.

These myths include the one that homosexuals are “born that way”, can’t change, and must be accepted for “who they are”. Further, those claiming they are a different gender than that with which they were born, i.e. the transgendered, who “feel” they belong to other than their gender at birth, must be accepted as such.

The public is supposed to put aside its intelligence and common sense, and respectfully bow collectively in obeisance to these “expert” opinions. These opinions, however, are complete and utter hogwash.

… However, the myth-makers attempt to force their nonsense on us by the heavy hand of the law, claiming that it’s “discrimination” to refuse to accept the myths as truth.  Jurisdictions which don’t obey their rulings are economically punished, parents are forbidden to protect their children from the monstrous “bathroom” laws that permit males to use girls’ showers, lockers and change rooms.  It’s all a fraud based on propaganda with no scientific legitimacy.

Bombshells Explode The Myths

The first bombshell was a landmark study published in The Journal – The New Atlantis, (August 23, 2016). The Journal is a well-known journal of science, technology and ethics based in Washington D.C.  This article analysed [sic] the scientific evidence of LGBT issues published to date in scientific journals.

… Dr. Mayer stated he supports every sentence in this report without reservation since it is about science and medicine.  He also stated he was alarmed to learn during his review of over 500 scientific articles that the LGBT community bears a disproportionate rate of mental health problems compared to the population as a whole.

  • The other author is Dr. Paul McHugh, one of the leading psychiatrists in the world. … These scientists reviewed hundreds of peer reviewed studies on sexual orientation and gender identity from the biological, psychological and social sciences.  Their conclusions were as follows:

  • The belief that gender identity is an innate, fixed human property independent of biological sex – so that a person might be a ‘man trapped in a woman’s body’ or ‘a woman trapped in a man’s body’ – is not supported by scientific evidence.

  • Only a minority of children who express gender-atypical thoughts or behaviour will continue to do so into adolescence or adulthood. There is no evidencethat all such children should be encouraged to become transgender, much less subjected to hormone treatments or surgery.

  • Non-heterosexual and transgender people have higher rates of mental health problems (anxiety, depression, suicide), as well as behavioral and social problems (substance abuse, intimate partner violence), than the general population. Discrimination alone does not account for the entire disparity.

The second bombshell was exploded by a top researcher for the American Psychological Association (APA), lesbian activist, Dr. Lisa Diamond, co-author-in-chief of ‘the APA Handbook’ of sexuality and psychology and one of the APA’s most respected members.  She admitted that sexual orientation was “fluid” and not unchangeable.  By doing so, Dr. Diamond confirmed that the myth that “homosexuals can’t change” is now a dead-end theory.  She summarized the relevant findings in a lecture at Cornell University stating that abundant research has now established that sexual orientation – including attraction, behaviour and self-identity – is fluid for both adolescents and adults for both genders. (The LGBT fraud has been exposed, and they’re definitely not happy about it; By Claire Chretien; Life Site News; 11/15/16 1:37 pm EST)

The Multiculturalist Left and the lying Homosexual activist-lobbyists have been brainwashing Americans for decades. Even now I am guessing NO one has heard the recent science confirming the brainwashing lies.

ERGO, the reality of the Will of God found in His Word shows the purpose of the Creator of one male and one female is the standard He intends for His creation. If God’s Word calls same-sex relations an abomination in His sight, then it is so – Leviticus 18: 22; 20: 13 NKJV:

22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

God in Christ is no less approving –Romans 1: 18-19, 26-27 NKJV:

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

And yet, it is not God’s will that any human should perish in eternal separation from His Presence. All humanity is born in a sin nature. That is the reason the Almighty emptied Himself of Divine prerogatives and became fully human to born as a perfect human to be the sacrificial lamb for Adam’s hereditary disobedience.

Jesus the infant was conceive in the womb of a human female by the power of the Holy Spirit (not human copulation as the Muslims erroneously believe). The infant Jesus became a man. Jesus as the Son of God and the son of man simultaneously, ministered His Divine purpose for three years then became the Lamb of God dying for humanity’s sin nature so that all that believe in the Resurrection of Jesus are re-united with God Almighty in spirit now and in our resurrection from the dead our natural appearance will be changed spirit, soul and body –Galatians 3: 10-14 NKJV:

The Law Brings a Curse

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”[a] 11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”[b] 12 Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.”[c]

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”[d]), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

I have no idea how those of the Jewish faith handle the brutal punishments of the Law in this modern era, but for Christians the punished prescribed in the Law in this life has eternally been paid for by the Lamb of God. That includes the numerous sin punishments that is also applied to heterosexuals and as to the subject of this post, those who have made the choice of a homosexual lifestyle.

I am fairly certain that homosexual apologists and Leftist Multiculturalists will try to disarm God’s Word by attempting to twist it to bend to human academics to fit their world view. That is unfortunately the problem with Humanist thinking. Humanism intentionally dismisses the Divine paradigm because world order darkness blinds Humanists unable to see the Light of Salvation of Jesus Christ the Son of God/Lamb of God that can Redeem those stuck in Humanist darkness.

That is the plus of Rep. Jim Bridenstine, President Trump’s nomination to lead NASA. If Bridenstine is a good Christian, he will not make a person blinded in homosexual darkness suffer for their social choices but rather direct them according to merit. That is probably unlike a virulent homosexual that would make it their life’s aim to persecute a Christian employee for their beliefs with shaming or worse – violence.

In essence, the Left and Homosexual activists are actually attempting to utilize a religious test to disqualify Jim Bridenstine from being the next NASA Administrator. I like the observations made by Mark Whittington on the Bridenstine nomination:

However, it appears that Bridenstine is being subjected to a religious test for the position that he has been nominated for. Many people oppose some items on the LGBT agenda out of sincere religious conviction. Bridenstine’s private and political beliefs are being used as a disqualifier for becoming head of NASA, even though those views would not affect his conduct as administrator. The space agency has no influence whatsoever on whether or not people of the same sex have the right to marry. That issue was decided by a ruling of the Supreme Court and is now the law of the land.

One wonders if these questions are going to come up during the hearings when they finally take place. Bridenstine will likely reply that he will follow the law, as he is obligated to do, and perhaps openly wonder what these issues have to do with returning to the moon and re-establishing American dominance in space. (Now Jim Bridenstine is in trouble with the LGBT community; By Mark Whittington; Blasting News; 9/14/17)

The LGBTQ ungodly nuts are trying to same political muscle they used way back in 1973 to disqualify Jim Bridenstine in 2017. The Left-Wing Washington Post actually has a news story of those that are supportive of the Bridenstine nomination largely due to the fact his Congressional record demonstrated a huge support for NASA’s space exploration agenda with the addition of private capital cooperation:

Bridenstine’s nomination comes as NASA is increasingly relying on the private sector to perform tasks that were once the exclusive domain of the government. …

Now, under Trump, the growing private sector is looking to capitalize on its momentum and partner with NASA to go even farther — to the moon and deep space. And it regards Bridenstine as someone who would be good for business.

“NASA needs dedicated and inspired leadership, and Representative Bridenstine is an outstanding choice to provide precisely that,” said S. Alan Stern, chairman of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, an industry group representing many space companies and start-ups.

The Coalition for Deep Space Exploration, representing many of the big legacy contractors, said it also welcomed the nomination, saying Bridenstine “has been an active and vocal advocate for space on Capitol Hill.”

NASA is poised to ask the private sector for proposals to develop a lunar lander that could take experiments and cargo to the surface of the moon, with flights starting as early as 2018. Bridenstine, who serves in the Navy Reserve, has advocated a return to the moon, writing in a blog post last year that “from the discovery of water ice on the moon until this day, the American objective should have been a permanent outpost of rovers and machines, with occasional manned missions for science and maintenance.”

In addition to backing work with younger, entrepreneurial firms, Bridenstine has also voiced his support for the traditional industrial base, made up of behemoths such as Lockheed Martin and Boeing. They want to ensure that programs such as the Space Launch System, the massive rocket being developed by NASA, and the Orion crew capsule continue …

Mike Gold, the chairman of a commercial space advisory committee for the Federal Aviation Administration, said that Bridenstine would be able to unite the industry with “his support for a diverse array of activities such as deep-space exploration, private-sector partnerships, Earth science and technology development.” (Support builds for Bridenstine to lead NASA despite past skepticism on climate change; By Christian Davenport; WaPo; 9/11/17)

WaPo gravitates to the Left so it is unsurprising that the article continues by stating that in Congress Bridenstine was critical of Obama spending more on Climate Change than on weather forecasting.

The Senate will be involved in the confirmation hearings for Bridenstine. The Multiculturalist Dems in the Senate were extremely displeased that Bridenstine does not share the concerns of the immediacy of a doomed earth from constantly fudged statistics pointing toward Climate Change disasters.

Between Homosexual activists and Leftist Eco-Marxists, Bridenstine at the very least can be grilled by Leftist Senators about issues that have zero to do with the science of space exploration.

My fellow Okies, write, email or phone Senators Inhofe and Langford to make a stir about the real issues that Jim Bridenstine should be judged as a capable Administrator of NASA.

Lucas-Bridenstine Weather Forecasting Bill Passed in the House

My Oklahoma Representative Jim Bridenstine (R-OK1) had some legislation pass the House as part of the joint House-Senate Committee work to get a Bill to the President to sign. I’m just not certain if it will land on Obama’s desk or Trump’s desk. I pray it is Trump’s desk.

Yesterday the U.S. House unanimously approved H.R. 353, the Lucas-Bridenstine Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act.  This legislation prioritizes protecting lives and property.

Our aim is to have zero deaths from tornadoes and other extreme weather events. This bill gets us closer to that day.  I thank my House colleagues for their support, and anticipate swift Senate passage and that the President will sign it into law.

This legislation is the product of a bipartisan effort.  It directs the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to focus resources and effort to:

  • Rebalance NOAA funding to place a higher priority on weather-related research and activities;

  • Emphasize developing accurate forecasts and timely warnings of high impact weather events;

  • Create programs to extend warning lead times and improve forecasts for tornadoes and hurricanes;

  • Develop a plan to utilize advanced technology to regain U.S. superiority in weather modeling and forecasts;

  • Increase focus and continue development of seasonal forecasts and how to maximize information from these forecasts; and

  • Enhance coordination among various federal government weather stakeholders.

The legislation also authorizes and extends a NOAA pilot program already under way thanks to a partnership between the House Science Space and Technology and the House Appropriations Committee. Under this pilot program, NOAA has already issued two contracts to procure commercial satellite weather data. This pilot program could bring about a paradigm shift in how NOAA makes decisions about future procurement of critical weather data.

House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman Lamar Smith added, “Americans from coast to coast will now be better prepared for severe weather with the passage of the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act.  This bill has been four years in the making and is long overdue.  It will transform our nation’s weather gathering efforts and help save lives and property.  This legislation strengthens the underlying atmospheric science while simultaneously advancing innovative technology and reforming operations to provide better weather data, models, and forecasts.  America can thank Reps. Lucas and Bridenstine for leading this innovation initiative.  We look forward to the Senate approving this bill soon.”

The Washington Post called this “the first major piece of weather legislation adopted since the early 1990s.”  The legislation, originally introduced in the House in 2013, passed the House in 2015, and last December the Senate approved an amended version.  Provisions in the bill approved today are nearly identical to the Senate version, so we can anticipate swift passage again in the Senate and presentation to the President for signing into law.

Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R) was elected to Congress in 2012 by first defeating the GOP incumbent in the Primary then winning the seat to the 1st Congressional District of Oklahoma in the November 2012 vote. He came in as a Tea Party candidate supporting less government and less taxes. He is my Congressional Representative.

I set this up because I received an email update that highlights two very bills that I suspect if it makes the Leftist-in-Chief’s desk they will be vetoed. At any rate they still represent the civil rights of Pro-Life medical professionals and the other bill more specifically defines what each branch of government can and cannot do pre-empting bureaucratic rules as laws that are not enacted by Congress,

Rep. Bridenstine first highlights the Conscience Protection Act which enables a medical professional or hospital to NOT be forced to perform abortions if it violates their conscience. This would not only undercut Obama’s Executive Orders that instruct the Obama Administration bureaucrats to force otherwise BUT ALSO prevent a State apparatus under the thumb of Leftists from forcing conscience violations.

The next Congressional Rep. Bridenstine looks at is Separation of Powers Restoration Act. SCOTUS is case law oriented more than interpreting the Constitution with Original Intent standards. The result has led to the slow watering down of the intended Liberties and Rights of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and Amendments ratified after the Bill of Rights. Thus the unconstitutional doctrine of the Living Constitution has superseded Original Intent that has led to Executive Branch superiority in a system in which Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches were originally arranged as separate but equal with a concept of Checks and Balances institutionalized in the Constitution.

The Separation of Powers Act (SOPRA) is specifically designed to reverse the course of Federal Bureaucratic Agencies from turning regulations into the force of law without action from Congress. SOPRA would eliminate the case law that established the Chevron Deference (1984) standards in which Courts would uphold bureaucratic regulatory interpretation of legislation as the force of law.

The Bridenstine email below is editorially focused on the two Acts mentioned above. The Congressman addresses other issues as well but these two piqued my interest.

Conscience Protection Act - Bridenstine

By Jim Bridenstine

Sent 8/3/2016 5:02 PM

The House recently passed landmark pro-life legislation to stop abortion coercion. The Conscience Protection Act prohibits government from penalizing or retaliating against any health care provider who refuses to participate in abortion activities, or insurers who refuse to provide coverage. The bill also creates a right to sue for anybody forced to violate their consciences on abortion.

I believe that abortion takes the life of an unborn child and harms women. Even if some disagree with that, we can all agree that government should respect everyone’s freedom to NOT participate in abortions. Government should not require hospitals, doctors, nurses and insurances plans to carry out, assist in, or pay for abortions. The Conscience Protection Act enhances important protections against abortion coercion. The Senate should waste no time in getting this bill to the President’s desk.

Federal law has protected conscience rights on abortion since the 1970s across the private sector.  In 2005, the “Weldon Amendment” expanded these rights to cover institutions receiving government funds. Now, state and local governments, including California and New York, are increasingly threatening to withhold funding to coerce insurers to provide abortion coverage and pro-life hospitals, doctors, and nurses to participate in abortion activities.

When government engages in abortion coercion, the only available remedy is filing complaints to the Department of Health and Human Services. Predictably, HHS has slow-rolled its response. That’s why the Conscience Protection Act is so important: the pro-life community needs standing to sue, not more paperwork to fill out.

Recently, the House passed the Separation of Powers Restoration Act (SOPRA), a bill that aims to take back Congress’s legislative power. President Obama has consistently used bureaucratic rules and regulations to bypass Congress and implement his liberal agenda.

The Separation of Powers Restoration Act is a good step towards reining in the executive branch’s ability to essentially create laws through regulations, however, more must be done. Congress must use the power of the purse to defund harmful rules and regulations when the executive branch steps outside its Constitutional authority.

I live in Oklahoma. For voting purposes, I reside in Oklahoma’s First Congressional District. That means my Congressman is incumbent Jim Bridenstine – Republican. In the 2012 Primary Bridenstine upset then Republican incumbent John Sullivan who had been the District’s Representative since 2002.

Sullivan was considered a Conservative, but Bridenstine ran as a Tea Party candidate, meaning as an antiestablishment Republican. Bridenstine has stood true to the Conservative antiestablishment principles that enabled him to defeat Sullivan and eventually win the 2012 general election.

Now we are in 2016. Bridenstine is facing a Primary challenge from longtime Tulsa oilman Tom Atkinson. Atkinson definitely has money because he has run political ads promoting his Conservative credentials and his lifelong Tulsa heritage. I have checked out the Atkinson campaign website and he indeed has a Conservative heritage. … But, so had former Representative Sullivan.

For me, the term “longtime Tulsa oilman” signifies a Republican Establishment candidate. Again for me, that means he is a status quo kind of guy that Conservatives need to walk away from within the GOP. If the GOP Establishment gets its way, then it will be time for Conservatives to form their own Political Party to erase the Republican Party as did the Republicans did the Whig Party by 1860.

I am staying with Jim Bridenstine as my Congressman in the 1st Congressional District of Oklahoma. My fellow Conservatives, encourage Republican voters to stick with Bridenstine in the June 28th Primary so Conservative Independents can vote for him in the November 8th General Election.

FreedomWorks’ Congressman of the Month – Jim Bridenstine

Jim Bridenstine

BY NEIL SIEFRING

Email Notification: 5/8/2016 3:30 PM

FreedomWorks

Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-Okla.) was elected to the U.S. House of representatives in 2013 and represents Oklahoma’s First Congressional District. A military veteran, Rep. Bridenstine served nine years as an aviator for the United States Navy and experienced combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, he continues to serve in the National Guard.

Rep. Bridenstine isn’t one to stand down from a fight, especially if it is something he firmly believes is right. Upon entering Congress, Bridenstine’s first official vote was against John Boehner’s (R-OH) selection as Speaker of the House in 2013. He has been a member of the House Freedom Caucus, which aims to support, “open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty,” since its inception.

Overall, Rep. Bridenstine boasts a 95 percent lifetime rating on the FreedomWorks Congressional Scorecard. His belief in free market values, entrepreneurship, and fiscal constraint are consistently evident with legislation he supports and introduces in Congress. He has voted to repeal Obamacare, to reduce federal spending, eliminate unnecessary federal programs at the Department of Energy, and to try and prevent the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from regulating nearly any waterway in the United States.

He has been a vocal opponent of increasing federal regulations on education, signing on as a co-sponsor of H. Res. 476, legislation which would denounce President Obama’s effort to impose Common Core on the states through applications for federal grants. In the energy sector, Rep. Bridenstine stands in support of American citizens and businesses rather than the federal government and its regulatory regime, as he sponsored H.R. 1487, the American Energy Renaissance Act, to prevent EPA regulations from shuttering the coal industry while also increasing American energy exports by lifting the crude oil export ban.

Rep. Bridenstine has also labored to increase public accountability of his fellow legislators. On January 6, 2016, he introduced H.R. 4328, the Read the Bill Act, which would “prohibit the consideration in the House or Senate of any legislation over 300 pages which has not been published online at least 72 working hours prior to consideration, would require an additional 24-hours for every 100 pages of bill text beyond 300 pages, and take away the force of law of any legislation using ‘fast track’ procedures.” He is also a co-sponsor of H.R. 4486, the Do Your Job Act, which would prevent the payment of salaries of members of the House or Senate if the respective chamber does not hold a vote on final passage of each of the 12 regular appropriations bills prior to the end of the fiscal year.

With an undergraduate degree from Rice University with three majors, an MBA from Cornell University, service to his country in the military, and experience as the executive director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium, Bridenstine is a particularly seasoned leader. He currently sits on both the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. He has a specific interest in space affairs and praises entrepreneurs for advancing breakthroughs in space technology.

He believes NASA has become a “jack of all trades” and hopes to help it focus on human exploration and pioneering space, as was its main objective in 1958. Through his legislation, H.R. 4945, the American Space Renaissance Act, he proposes that the Pentagon should focus on buying services from commercial providers instead of owning all the systems itself and transition from a very few large and expensive government satellites to a system of smaller, less-expensive ones. He has a website detailing the aspects of his bill.

Rep. Jim Bridenstine is a patriot and a statesman. He has spent his time in the House of Representatives fighting for the Constitution and fiscal responsibility. He has taken on leadership that has gone astray, and is a voice for his constituents… For these reasons, we’re proud to name Rep. Jim Bridenstine FreedomWorks’ Congressman of the Month for May, 2016!

Govt. Temporarily Refunded – Baby Parts Keep Rolling

John R. Houk

WARNING! – Graphic Video toward bottom – Children should not see this

Congress passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) yesterday to keep the government funded yesterday. The controversy in this 9/30/15 CR was it kept the baby killing and baby parts selling organization Planned Parenthood fully funded. Apparently ALL the Democrats made sure the baby killing and the trafficking in baby parts continued. Sadly the Republicans split on murdering babies and trafficking in live baby parts with the majority voting no for the CR.

The Senate easily approved the interim funding measure earlier Wednesday on a vote of 78-20.

While Congress has funded the government at least through December, the the [sic] funding of Planned Parenthood has angered conservative Republicans who argue GOP leadership has not fought hard enough for their values.

Indeed, the measure passed with a majority of Democratic votes — 186 Democrats voted in favor of the spending bill and 151 Republicans voted against it. Ninety-one Republicans voted for the short-term funding measure. President Obama is expected to sign it today, before funding expires at midnight. (SHUTDOWN AVERTED: HOUSE PASSES FUNDING BILL DESPITE MAJORITY OF GOP ‘NO’ VOTES; By CAROLINE MAY; Breitbart.comBig Government; 9/30/15)

I haven’t checked to see how many GOP Senators voted for the CR but it must have been a bunch for a 70-20 favorable vote. In the HOUSE NINETY-ONE Republicans voted for baby killing and marketing live baby parts in the name of keeping the government afloat.

On Wednesday September 16 on the CNN-GOP debate Carly Fiorina gave a vivid description of harvesting a live baby for body parts (which means a live birth then murdered and then dissected for internal organs). The Leftists cried boohoo and foul for the CMP video exposés implicating Planned Parenthood had no action of Fiorina’s description but only a description. THE THING IS Carly was talking about some video action that was not a part of CMP video releases. As a reminder, here’s what Carly Fiorina ACCURATELY described:

VIDEO: Carly Fiorina Response to Planned Parenthood on CNN Debate | The Blaze

I can’t assert this is the specific video that Presidential candidate for the GOP nomination viewed, but it is remarkably similar to her description. Due to the graphic nature I am beginning with the Youtube description first. Then I will show the roughly fifteen minute video.

Carly Fiorina was right

Published by AbortionNo

Published on Sep 29, 2015

Carly Fiorina, CNN Republican presidential debate, September 16, 2015:

“Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says, ‘We have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.’ This is about the character of our nation, and if we will not stand up and force President Obama to veto this [Planned Parenthood defunding] bill, shame on us.”

Ms. Fiorina was referring to a Center for Bio-Ethical Reform (CBR) video depicting a few seconds of a 17-½ week fetus, still alive and moving, following an intact-delivery abortion. Here we post the entire unedited video. The total running time is approximately 13 minutes and the video is in five segments as the camera operator turns the camera on and off.

CBR and the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), in whose undercover Planned Parenthood investigative video the CBR abortion footage appears, have been falsely accused of misrepresenting a miscarriage as an abortion. The first segment of the unedited video depicts the abortion itself, with the baby delivered alive and struggling in the abortionist’s gloved hand. Segments 2 and 3 depict the baby still moving in a stainless steel pan after repeatedly being handled abusively by the abortionist. Segments 4 and 5 are static gynecological shots of the baby’s mother.

This unedited version of the disputed footage proves incontestably that this termination is an abortion. Mothers at risk of miscarriage present at hospitals, not abortion clinics. Hospitals are in the business of sustaining pregnancies and saving babies. Abortion clinics are in the business of terminating pregnancies and killing babies. This video depicts a termination and the subsequent abuse and neglect of a preemie obviously delivered alive. No attempt is made to provide the neonatal intensive care a hospital would extend to a wanted baby. It is possible that the abortionists performing this termination violated both state and federal law by withholding care from a baby who survived an abortion.

Ms. Fiorina made reference to a baby’s heart still beating while its brain was being harvested (a process which Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services calls “digging”) and a former StemExpress “procurement technician” says, “I’m sitting here and I’m looking at this fetus and its heart is beating, and I don’t know what to think” (National Review, August 19, 2015). The article adds that “… her StemExpress supervisor instructed her to cut through the face of the fetus in order to get the brain.”

The unedited version of this abortion depicts an intact-delivery termination and Planned Parenthood partner StemExpress admits through its CEO (Cate Dyer), “Oh yeah, if you had intact cases, which we’ve done a lot, we sometimes ship those back to our lab in its entirety …” (The Daily Signal, August 21, 2015).

A World Magazine article, August 19, 2015, describes “… an aborted baby’s beating heart, a post-abortion occurrence that’s not uncommon, according to Ben Van Handel, executive director of Novogenix Laboratories.”

Ms. Fiorina’s characterizations are not hyperbole.

The terms of our abortion clinic access agreements explicitly forbid us from disclosing any information which could identify the abortion providers from whose clinics we obtain imagery. Dates, locations, affiliations and staff and patient information are confidential. Violating these prohibitions could subject CBR to legal liability and jeopardize clinic access for current and future projects. We are even obligated to delete the audio track on all of our videos.

The Grantham Collection is a component of the CBR abortion imagery archive. Questions related to this very disturbing video should be directed to Gregg Cunningham, cbr@cbrinfo.org, 949-206-0600.

Addendum: Medical malpractice lawsuits have become so common that OB/GYNs practice defensive medicine. They protect themselves by over-diagnosing, over-treating and over-prescribing. No doctor delivering this baby as a preemie in a hospital would fail to provide neonatal intensive care. Even if he had no compassion for the baby or his parents, he would provide care to avoid being sued for negligence. Warren Hern, in his book “Abortion Practice” warns of the difficulty in estimating fetal ages. A baby moving as vigorously as this one is presumptively entitled to care and would receive it — unless the attending physician is an abortionist, which is the case here.

Miscarried embryos and fetuses are virtually all still births involving a baby who expired in the uterus and was later born dead. A preemie in a hospital is born alive and given intensive care — not slapped around in a pan as happened here with a baby who survived the abortion depicted at the beginning of the video.

God have mercy on the voters that voted for Senators and Representatives who supported the Continued Resolution without defunding Planned Parenthood. The baby killing entrepreneurs of Planned Parenthood has made America complicit in the murder of children.

I am pleased my Oklahoma District One Representative Jim Bridenstine voted NO.

A Failure To Govern

Rep. Bridenstine Votes “No” on Continuing Resolution

By Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK 1)

Sent: 9/30/2015 8:30 PM

Jim’s Blog

House.gov Website

Today I voted “No” on the Continuing Resolution (CR). Continuing Resolutions are a failure to govern, a failure to represent the people, and a failure to exercise the power of the purse.

The House passed the bills to fund the government in the proper process. The Senate failed to take up any of them due to Democrat filibusters. Accordingly, a CR was presented as the only option for funding the federal government.

Representatives should be able to appropriate funds for programs the people approve and withdraw funds from those they oppose. In Federalist 58, James Madison said, “The power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people…”

I have never voted for a CR. Those who voted for the “clean” CR today, or any of the numerous CRs over the past 7 years, voted to fund Planned Parenthood, the President’s unconstitutional executive amnesty, sanctuary cities, Obamacare, and the Iran nuclear deal. There is nothing “clean” about this process. In passing a CR, Congress abandons its representative duty and fails to fulfill the role given to it by the Constitution.

Rep. Jim Bridenstine Votes to Stop the Iran Deal

On September 11th the House voted on three bills to stop President Obama’s atrocious Iran nuclear agreement. These bills make clear that the American people, acting through their elected representatives, reject the President’s capitulation to Iran. America’s next President can — and should — end the agreement on day one and restart the most effective sanctions regime ever created. The Iran deal will endanger the security of America and our closest allies and partners, as I have explained at length (here and here).

Bridenstine & Lankford Tax Reform Emails

James Lankford & Jim Bridenstine

Senator James Lankford and Rep. Jim Bridentine

Congressman  & Senator from Oklahoma

By John R. Houk

I participated in one of those mass emails to Congress recently in which an email was sent to my Oklahoma Representative from District One and my Okie Senators. I believe the mass emailing was about tax reform. Dog gone it, I can’t remember the facilitator of the email was. I just remember a payment was not necessary and a contribution would have been appreciated. I participate and didn’t think anything further about my participation.

Here’s the thing though yesterday I received a response from Rep. Jim Bridenstine. Incidentally the Republican I supported in the First District 2012 Primary as Tea Party Conservative who defeated Republican incumbent John Sullivan. And check it out – Sullivan was a standard Oklahoma Republican. However, as a Congressman, Sullivan towed the GOP marching order line. Bridenstine won in 2012 campaigning on a Less Government, Fairer Taxation and dump Obamacare. And of course Bridenstine won reelection in 2014.

Senator James Lankford, my Republican Senator responded today (5/12/15) to the mass email on tax reform. Frankly I enjoyed both their responses even though I suspect they were form letter responses canned according to constituent questions. Since I liked the responses that was some good canning.

Regarding Tax Reform Email

By Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK District 1)

Congress Website: http://bridenstine.house.gov/

Thank you for contacting me regarding tax reform.  I appreciate your opinion and value your input on this important issue.

As you may know, in the 113th Congress I introduced House Joint Resolution 104 to repeal the 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and eliminate the IRS. The 16th Amendment allows the federal government to impose the income tax.  There are viable alternative plans for raising revenue fairly to support constitutionally enumerated functions of the federal government that don’t require the 16th Amendment.  The current system is broken beyond repair and it’s time for the United States to move beyond our dated tax structure.

Our current tax code is an unfair system which discourages investment, innovation and entrepreneurship.  Our income tax has become so convoluted that even professionals have a hard time understanding its mechanics.  The system is subject to endless manipulation by individuals and groups seeking to gain even the slightest monetary advantage.

The 4th Amendment to the Constitution guarantees, “The right of people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.” The 16th Amendment effectively negates the 4th Amendment.  Now is the time to repeal the 16th Amendment and eliminate the IRS.

If successful, the repeal of the 16th Amendment will eliminate the personal and corporate income tax, the estate and gift taxes, and taxes on investment earnings at the federal level.  Personally, I am in favor of replacing it with the Fair Tax, but I believe that supporters of other alternatives to our broken tax system can also get behind this effort.

Thank you again for writing and expressing your thoughts on this important issue.  Please visit my website at http://bridenstine.house.gov to send me another message with your thoughts and opinions, read my positions on major issues, or sign up for my E-Newsletter. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns on the IRS targeting scandal and the vote to hold Lois Lerner in Contempt of Congress.  I served as a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for four years and was actively involved with this investigation from the beginning. I appreciate the time you took to engage yourself in this important matter.

On April 10, 2014, after numerous hearings, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted to hold Ms. Lerner in Contempt of Congress.  On May 7, 2014, the bill to hold her in contempt passed the House in a bipartisan vote of 231-187. I supported both measures.

I also supported H. Res. 565, a resolution calling on the Attorney General to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate IRS targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.  In addition to 224 Republicans, 26 Democrats voted in favor of the resolution, which passed by a vote of 250 to 168.

On April 1, 2015, the Justice Department announced they will not seek criminal charges against Ms. Lerner. In a letter written to Speaker John Boehner, Ronald Machen, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, said a criminal case would not be presented to the grand jury over Ms. Lerner’s refusal to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Justice Department attorneys determined that Ms. Lerner did not waive her Fifth Amendment right during her opening statement of general claims of innocence on May 22, 2013.  Because she exercised her constitutional right, she cannot be prosecuted for contempt.

You might be interested to know the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration indicated in congressional testimony on February 27, 2015, that there could be criminal wrongdoing in the disappearance of IRS emails related to the Lerner case.  Additionally, on April 2, 2015, a federal judge ordered the IRS to turn over any lists of potentially targeted groups.

I am disappointed but not surprised by the Justice Department’s decision not to take up the contempt case.  The IRS still owes every American taxpayer the truth about whether or not the IRS specifically targeted Americans seeking tax-exempt status based on their political beliefs. I will continue to seek the facts, so we can ensure this type of misconduct does not happen again.

Please feel free to contact me again via email at www.lankford.senate.gov for more information about my work in the United States Senate for all of us…

The American people have been deceived and betrayed once more by the newly elected Republicans, who portrayed themselves as conservatives. These newly elected joined the rank and file establishment Republicans, and on January 6th, they helped reelect a big spending, Republican-in-Name-Only Statist, John Boehner, as Speaker of the House to the 114th Congress, which illustrates that despite a Republican majority, the 114th Congress will not be truly conservative in its character.

Boehner won the Speaker position with 216 votes of 408 cast, less than a majority of the full House. With 164 Democrats voting along ideological lines for Nancy Pelosi, twenty-four courageous Republican Congressmen remembered their oath to the Constitution and set aside personal ambition and partial considerations for committee chairs, and they voted for the true interests of America and Her people, by voting for alternative Republican candidates for Speaker of the House.

Despite claims to the contrary, every Republican Congressman was aware of the fact that 64% of Republican voters wanted to “dump Boehner”, due to a campaign by Joseph Farah at ‘WND’, which generated over 500,000 letters urging House members to fire Boehner. Most of the new Congressmen received votes, during their campaigns, based on their assurances that they would seek Boehner’s removal as Speaker.

Many disturbing reasons led to the movement to oust Boehner. He has overseen the largest government spending spree of any Speaker in U.S. history, including Nancy Pelosi; he insisted on fully funding Obamacare at the end of the last Congressional session, when he also pushed House members to fund Obama’s immigration amnesty until February 27, 2015; and he gave a $1.1 trillion spending bill his blessing in December of 2014.

Obama’s amnesty for illegal aliens could have been fought by passing month to month continuing resolutions and demanding concessions at every juncture to keep government funded. But now, by passing the “Cromnibus” [Link] and funding the Dept. of Homeland Security through February, Boehner and the House allowed Obama to build the administrative structure needed to issue his deferred prosecution orders and work permits for the parents of the DREAM “children.”

Reported by several journalists including Melissa Quinn at the ‘Daily Signal’ (Jan 5), Rep. Jim Bridenstine placed this fight in its proper perspective, stating:

The CR/omnibus legislation ($1.1 trillion spending bill) sufficiently undermines the checks and balances enshrined in the Constitution that it warrants my pending vote against the Speaker. John Boehner went too far when he teamed with Obama to advance this legislation. He relinquished the power of the purse, and with it he lost my vote.”

Some Congressmen, such as Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) Vice-Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, expressed their fear that they would lose their position if they opposed Boehner. They called it “a hard vote” to go against their principles, but they haven’t any principles; the hard votes were delivered by the twenty-four courageous American patriots, men of honor, integrity and principle, who stood and opposed Boehner, including Scott DesJarlais, Ted Yoho and Louie Gohmert.

And yes, the retaliations are already underway. Rep Daniel Webster (R-FLA), who opposed Boehner, and Rep Richard Nugent (R-FLA), who voted for Webster, were both removed from the Rules Committee hours after the vote. Boehner also used retaliation in 2012, when he threw Representatives Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), Justin Amash (R-MI) and David Schweikert off their committees.

Given the numbers, there was going to be a Republican Speaker no matter who the candidates were, since the vote continues until one candidate gains a simple majority. At the very least, the true conservative Republicans were hoping to force a second vote for the first time since 1923, when Frederick Gillett (R-MA) needed nine ballots to win the Speaker’s seat (Congressional Research Service).

Statements similar to Rep. Diane Black’s (R-TN), that opposing Boehner would “position Democrats to exert greater influence over the outcome”, are nothing more than a weak, blatant attempt to cover their own self-serving cowardice. And every Republican vote for Boehner was a vote for their own personal ambition and massive government and its associated expenditures.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) stated, “Critics may call my vote unwise … but I challenge them instead to defend the undemocratic manner in which the Speaker has moved legislation through the House of Representatives.”

In 2015, Obamacare, illegal immigration, energy, jobs, the tax code and education, along with appropriations and budget issues, will all present America a string of failures under John Boehner’s direction as Speaker of the House. The next two years will be full of faux conservatives full of feigned anger, and Republicans still will have accomplished nothing.

How can Boehner continue to lead the cooperation – err, ugh – “opposition” to Obama (as the crowd laughs uproariously), when he has lost the confidence of his own party?

It’s no wonder Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was gushing as she handed the Speaker’s gavel to Boehner. Her party sees John Boehner as being malleable in Obama’s hands.

How could any Republican vote for Boehner for Speaker of the House in good conscience, knowing that he is working to undermine conservative principles?

When Americans vote for candidates calling themselves “conservatives”, they expect to receive honorable leaders, who understand the basis for true conservatism, determined to uphold their oath to the Constitution. Time and again, John Boehner has violated his oath and blocked the efforts of new Congressmen to advance conservative policies that would have had better than expected results, if only one gathered the strength to do the right thing.

Twenty-four Republicans who opposed Speaker Boehner, as they fought for Constitutional government, are an inspiration for many Americans. Their votes also represent the largest in-party repudiation of a sitting Speaker since 1923.

Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of the Tea Party Patriots, observed:

Republicans should study the names of those who were brave enough to stand up and cast their vote against the status quo of the Boehner establishment. One day, they will lead that party, and the party and the nation will be far better for it. Tea Party Patriots everywhere salute them.”

The 2014 election was about making the changes the American people demand, something Boehner has refused to do. Every single Republican was tasked by America to dump Boehner, but the majority of them were too busy running to protect their cushy assignments and their committee positions and running scared from a whiny Fool’s retaliation. Every single Republican who cast their vote for Boehner betrayed the U.S. Constitution and the American people in so doing.

I sign a lot of petitions pertaining to Conservative issues (usually meaning anti-Leftist) and Counterjihad issues. Sometimes I get a response form my Congressman and one or both of my Senators. Typically the response runs something like, “Thanks for your concern, if you are ever in Washington DC don’t hesitate to contact my office.” I live in Oklahoma. I won’t being showing up anytime soon in our nation’s capital.

I actually received a response that was a bit more detailed from my Congressman Rep. Jim Bridenstine and one of my Senators in Jim Inhofe. Now I’d like to think these two Republican gentlemen actually took the time to compose the email with their own hand on their keyboard. That is probably wishful thinking, but I’ll pretend anyway. It was probably one of their staff that drew the short straw to answer email one day.

The Bridenstine email came yesterday and the Inhofe email came today. Both emails were canned enough that I can’t be exactly sure to which canned petition-email I signed. By the tone of Bridenstine’s email his was probably a response to an ‘Impeach Obama’ petition. And Senator Inhofe’s email was probably a response to either a Benghazigate petition or a ‘ban the Quran’ canned petition. In the case of Senator Inhofe I am thinking it was probably the ‘ban the Quran’ petition for I believe that was the latest petition I electronically signed.

I got to tell ya, if Senator Inhofe or a staff member responded to ‘ban the Quran’ I am a bit surprised.  That is a bit of a radical petition in this day of political correctness. So if it was Inhofe then kudos to him. If it was an Inhofe staff member then kudos to him as well and I am praying that staffer doesn’t get reprimanded for addressing ‘ban the Quran’.

At any rate I am going to post both the Bridenstine and Inhofe responses. It was smart politics on their part because at the very least there is the impression of listening to their constituents back home in Oklahoma.

1st District, Oklahoma

Dear Mr. Houk,

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding President Obama and the many recent government scandals casting serious doubt on the administration’s integrity.  I appreciate your opinion and value your input on these important issues.

I understand your frustrations with President Obama. As you may know, I recently gave a one-minute speech on the floor of the House of Representatives challenging his leadership.  I encourage you to view it by clicking on this link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86UL9ekiXDk.

On March 12, 2014, the House passed, with my support, H.R. 4138, the Executive Needs to Faithfully Observe and Respect Congressional Enactments of the Law (ENFORCE) Act
[Blog Editor: Text to H.R. 4138].  If enacted, H.R. 4138 will authorize either chamber of Congress, upon adoption of a resolution, to bring civil action, when the President or any other federal officer has established or implemented a policy in violation of the constitutional requirement that the President faithfully execute the law.

I am also a cosponsor of H. Res. 442, the Stop This Overreaching Presidency Act [Blog Editor: Message from original sponsor Rep. Tom Rice and text].  This legislation directs the House of Representatives to bring civil action to challenge certain policies and actions taken by the Executive Branch in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.  It was subsequently referred to both the House Committee on Rules and the House Committee on Administration, where it currently awaits consideration.

With regards to impeachment, at this time I believe there are more constructive and effective means to challenge the President’s conduct and hold him accountable. Given the present composition of the Senate, impeachment would likely be an exercise in futility; at worst, it could allow the President and his supporters in Congress to distract the public from the very real and serious scandals the administration is facing. However, please know that I will continue to hold President Obama and his administration accountable and promise to keep your thoughts on this matter in mind at all times.

Thank you again for writing and expressing your thoughts on this important issue.  Please visit my website at http://bridenstine.house.gov to send me another message with your thoughts and opinions, read my positions on major issues, or sign up for my E-Newsletter. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links below. I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Sincerely,

Jim Bridenstine

U.S. Senator from Oklahoma

Dear Mr. Houk:

Thank you for your correspondence regarding Islamic extremism in the United States.  This is a critical issue, and as your voice in Washington, D.C., I appreciate being made aware of your concerns.

Our ongoing war on terrorism is being fought both at home and abroad.  It is complex and interwoven as there are many different individuals and organizations who make it difficult to differentiate the extremists from the law abiding citizens.  However, we must be diligent to assess the true internal and external threats of any extremists, whatever their ideology may be.  Extremists have made it clear that they do not respect individual life, and we must remain committed to fight this battle against radical ideology.

On the homeland security front, the United States has focused on law enforcement, prosecution, and improving the training and preparedness of first responders.  The Department of Homeland Security, established in November 2002, focuses on guarding our border and infrastructure, analyzing terror threats, and coordinating our nation’s response to future emergencies.  An important policy initiative was the enactment of the USA Patriot Act in 2001.  This law bolsters the government’s abilities to investigate, to bar and expel foreign terrorists from the United States, and to punish acts of terrorism.

In response to the increased focus on homeland security, there have also been efforts to involve the Department of Defense (DOD) more closely with federal, state and local agencies in their homeland security activities.  On October 1, 2002, DOD activated a new combatant command, Northern Command (NORTHCOM), to combat terrorism abroad and to protect American citizens at home.  Since the September 11, 2001 attacks, these efforts have made it more difficult for terrorists to operate and to succeed in their attacks.

In combating extremists abroad, the post-September 11 battle against Al Qaeda is worldwide and multifaceted, involving diplomatic and financial, as well as military actions.  On the law enforcement and intelligence front, the United States is working closely with its counterparts around the world to share information and arrest Al Qaeda operatives worldwide, with some successes.

The rise of the Muslim Brotherhood is also of great concern to me. Unfortunately, as you may know, on June 24, 2012 the Muslim Brotherhood candidate, Mohamed Morsi, won Egypt’s first democratic presidential election. Morsi had been the previous leader of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), and a member of parliament.  Although the election seemed to be free and fair, Morsi’s election is further evidence to me that Egypt will face further destabilizing times in the months and potentially years ahead.  Please be assured that I consider any threat by the Muslim Brotherhood internationally or here domestically as a supremely serious threat to our national security, and will investigate any allegations of their involvement in terrorist activities thoroughly.

We are facing an enemy that has the weapons, skills, and mentality to strike at innocent civilians within our own borders.  I believe it is vital that we decisively end the chronic under-funding of our defense needs.  We also need to continue to invest in enhancing our intelligence capabilities, particularly in the area of human intelligence.  Moreover, we must push ahead with the development and deployment of a missile defense system.  The ultimate terror weapon would be a ballistic missile armed with a chemical, biological or a nuclear warhead.  The greatest trust placed upon Congress by the American people is to provide for their security by maintaining a strong national defense.  The U.S. must build and sustain military capabilities required to respond to possible future threats across the spectrum.

I will continue to do everything in my power to protect our nation and its citizens from domestic and foreign threats. We must continuously strive to protect the freedoms our servicemen and women fight for everyday. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns.  Please do not hesitate to contact me again on this or any other important issue.

Bridenstine 1 of 9 to vote against Boehner for speaker

Jim Bridenstine & Family sworn in 1-4-13 OK mock ceremony

I live in Tulsa, OK. I voted for Jim Bridenstine in the GOP Primary that defeated long time District 1 Republican Incumbent John Sullivan. Sullivan was a Conservative but he tended to tow the line of the GOP Establishment.

Many of us Conservatives were hoping Rep. Boehner would be voted out as Speaker of the House because he was willing to sell too much of the Conservative farm to find a compromise on budget issues. It did not happen; Boehner retained the Office of Speaker of the House.

I am gratified to know that the Congressman I voted for – Jim Bridenstine – was one of nine that had the cajones to vote to oust Speaker Boehner. I only pray when Committee assignments are handed out that Boehner recognizes an ouster movement occurred because of too much compromise with Leftist Dems.

Bridenstine 1 of 9 to vote against Boehner for speaker

By Peter Urban Stephens Washington Bureau

12:06 pm – January 04, 2013 — Updated: 12:07 pm – January 04, 2013

Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise

WASHINGTON — Oklahoma freshman Rep. Jim Bridenstine, R-Tulsa, was one of nine Republicans Thursday to vote for someone other than John Boehner for House Speaker.

“We lost seats in the House. We lost the Senate. We lost the presidency. I just thought it was time for new leadership,” Bridenstine told the Associated Press.

Representing District 1, which includes Bartlesville and Tulsa, Bridenstine was one of Oklahoma’s two newest congressmen sworn into office on Thursday.

Also taking the oath were Markwayne Mullin and three other members of the state’s congressional delegation — Tom Cole, James Lankford and Frank Lucas.

Looking ahead to his first term, Bridenstine said it is “daunting” but “a true honor.”

Bridenstine upset longtime incumbent John Sullivan in last year’s Republican primary and went on to defeat his Democratic opponent in the November election.

He is a Navy pilot who had tea party backing when he was campaigning for the 1st Congressional District, which covers northeastern Oklahoma.

Earlier in the day, Bridenstine participated in a “mock” swearing-in ceremony with other members of the Oklahoma delegation. He was joined by his wife, Michelle, six-year-old son Walker, four-year-old daughter Sarah, and 10-month-old son Grant.

Mullin, who owns a plumbing business, won the open seat for the 2nd Congressional District that was vacated by Democrat Dan Boren, who decided to retire. That district stretches across 26 eastern Oklahoma counties.
