Unlearning What’s been Called ‘Right-Wing’

If you are a Conservative-Patriot (YOU are probably on Chairman Joe’s enemy list), you are probably aware violent organizations such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM) are essentially Marxists advocating an anti-Liberty and anti-Christian transformation of America by any form intimidating violence they can dish up.

The lying hypocrisy is evident in the tactics of Antifa (which is short for Anti-Fascism) and BLM which use violence to terrorize the public into submission yet call their peaceful opponents Right-Wing Fascists. THIS BRINGS ME to the lie (at worst) or misinformation (at best) pertaining to Fascism (and its political cousin Nazism) as “Right-Wing”. Fascism/Nazism differs from Marxism, BUT not as an opposite. RATHER Fascism/Nazism is merely a Socialist Totalitarian variation of Marxism.

I ran into a Brian C. Joondeph post at American Thinker that brings tremendous clarity to the reality of Fascist/Nazi ideology as LEFT-WING political thought. Something you probably have to unlearn from your school brainwashing days.

As you read the Joondeph post, you come to understand the current tyranny that has been thrust stealthily into our lives is a quiet version of the same tyranny thrust upon Europe from the mid-1930s until the end of WWII in 1945. Here’s a hint: The trumped up charges of a J6 Insurrection eerily mirrors the burning of the German Reichstag in 1933 which Hitler used to secure his dictatorship. If you’ve been paying even a little attention, you can probably place your finger on other similarities.

The United States of Fascist America

Fascism is a political ideology which, unfortunately, is mischaracterized by both media and academia. For example, Wikipedia describes fascism as, “A far right, authoritarian, ultra-nationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, central autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation and race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.”

The definition is mostly correct, except for the first words, claiming fascism is a “far right” ideology. Hitler was considered a fascist but his party, contrary to the political science experts (disguised as journalists), was far left. The Nazi Party is the Nationalist Socialist German Workers’ Party. Note the name “socialist,” an ideology of the left, not the right.

Another famous fascist, Benito Mussolini further clarified, “Fascism should rightly be called corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power.”

That’s where America is now, corporate and government power merging into a totalitarian behemoth, crushing any and all dissent. Note that this isn’t nationalizing private corporations as in Venezuela and Cuba, but it’s the government still controlling corporations through coercion and collaboration.

Take for example the recent Twitter File revelations. The federal government took control of big tech and social media giants to control free speech and dissent. It was more than simply the Biden campaign pressuring Twitter. The FBI had weekly meetings with social media corporations to warn them of “Russian interference” or “hack and leak operations,” which they knew very well were nothing of the sort.

And despite denials, Biden administration officials may still be meeting with media executives. Who is on President Biden’s guest list during the many weeks he is at one of his Delaware vacation homes?

The result was social media suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story, which would have likely altered the 2020 presidential election outcome. Specifically, “16% of Biden voters would have voted differently if Hunter Biden laptop story was not suppressed by media, big tech.” In an election decided by about 50,000 votes in a few swing districts, this was obvious election interference. And it wasn’t only the FBI, but also the Department of Homeland Security.

Executives from Facebook and Twitter, including the recently fired head of Trust & Safety Vijaya Gadde, held regular meetings with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to discuss censorship on a wide range of topics, including the withdrawal from Afghanistan, coronavirus, and “racial justice,” according to leaked documents.

Further revelations from Twitter Files part two noted, “Teams of Twitter employees build blacklists, prevent disfavored tweets from trending, and actively limit the visibility of entire accounts or even trending topics—all in secret, without informing users.”

This is called “shadow banning”, a practice that Twitter executives, under oath before Congress, denied. Elon Musk, opening the windows at Twitter headquarters, discovered that the social media giant was “visibility filtering,” a euphemism for shadow banning.

Will any former Twitter executives be prosecuted for lying to Congress? Fat chance. The DOJ practices its own form of shadow banning, only prosecuting Trump supporters and opponents of the ruling class, emulating the “justice” systems of banana republics.

Rep Adam Schiff provided a recent illuminating example of government controlling a private organization by demanding censorship, in violation of the First Amendment. As tweeted by his colleague Rep Diana Harshbarger,

Government, through big tech and social media, is using banning, algorithms, or censorship to push its political world view while suppressing all dissent. This is one of many ways to rig an election, by controlling the campaigns and narratives by blocking or promoting information and news.

Elon Musk discovered and acknowledged, “US political candidates were blacklisted while running for office.” Anyone want to guess which political party these candidates belonged to? Did it extend internationally, as in Brazil? Musk believes that is “possible.” Government in bed with corporations.

Twitter is the only social media giant shining a light on the tech sector’s willing participation in government fascism. What about Facebook, Google, YouTube, and Instagram? Will any sunlight shine on their similar practices?

No way, unless Elon Musk or someone else who supports American liberty and the US Constitution purchases these companies. Most elected Republicans have no interest in this entire topic as they too benefit from this new American fascism. Any bets that Mitch McConnell, Liz Cheney, Kevin McCarthy, or their staff told social media giants who to “visibility filter”?

It is not only Twitter and Facebook, but other big media organizations that have merged with the government, at least the Democrats and Republican establishment. Think of the leaks from the FBI, CIA, and DOJ to favored reporters at the New York Times or Washington Post, all to advance a favored narrative.

This would include the myriad bogus stories about candidate or President Trump as a Russian asset. How many leaks came from the Mueller Special Counsel team, a government entity, colluding with big media to shape public perception and the news narrative? Or from past and present government employees, all receiving either a government salary or pension, given an open forum on cable news shows to gaslight the public that the Hunter Biden laptop story was “classic Russian disinformation” when these former intelligence directors and agencies knew otherwise. Again, the merger of government and corporate power.

What meetings and influence have the CDC and NIH had on the COVID narrative, banning and shaming anyone who dared to question COVID dogma of vaccines being “safe and effective,” or that vaccines prevent infection and transmission, or that masks and distancing were effective, and that young healthy individuals dropping dead in record numbers is all “disinformation”?

Did Doctors Fauci and Walensky or their underlings, also meet with Twitter censors? Or did the FBI and DHS handle this for them? What role did Dr Fauci’s daughter play in any of this as she conveniently worked at Twitter? Just as the FBI’s general counsel and Spygate attorney James Baker conveniently moved to Twitter, obstructing the recent Twitter releases, shielding the FBI from scrutiny. The swamp indeed runs deep.

We may soon find out about COVID collusion as Elon Musk just tweeted, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci”, suggesting another Twitter release focusing on COVID narrative manipulation.

Lastly there are other corporations bowing to the government agenda. Investment entities such as BlackRock, are pushing ESG and “stakeholder capitalism,” pet projects of Democrats and some Republicans. How many corporations are pushing the ruling establishment’s doctrine on climate change, guns, or LGBT? How many banks have cancelled the accounts of those who do not share the political beliefs of the ruling class? Are those corporations being pressured by the government to promote these political positions, even if detrimental to their business interests?

It’s clear that the US government, both on the federal and state level, worked with social and traditional media to censor and suppress free speech, push favored agenda, punish political opponents, and influence elections, all in violation of the First Amendment.

This is fascism, the merger of government and corporate power. Twitter is only the tip of the iceberg. Will those in charge probe other media and corporate collusion? Doubtful as they have no interest in exposing their own malfeasance.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump are the two lone voices shining a light on the growing American fascism. Will anything change beyond Twitter becoming more of a fair and honest platform? Will Republicans push for more transparency, or do they enjoy the censorship as much as Democrats?

Is their hope for America, freedom of speech, and fair elections? Or are we turning into the United States of Fascist America?

Every Republican president since the 1970s has been called a fascist. Ironic, no? After all, fascism has its roots in the left. Dinesh D’Souza, author of The Big Lie, explains.

The big reveal is quite contrary to what Antifa (Anti-Fascist) Communist liars will tell you. Fascism and Nazism is just another version of totalitarian Socialism just as Communism is. And D’Souza reveals Fascism’s founding idealogue is Giovanni Gentile an Italian which for some mysterious reason Leftist Academics have buried his name recognition. As D’Souza notes, could the reason be the Gentile ideology hits too close to the truth about the current American Left? HMMM…?

“He’s a fascist!”

For decades, this has been a favorite smear of the left, aimed at those on the right. Every Republican president—for that matter, virtually every Republican—since the 1970s has been called a fascist; now, more than ever.

This label is based on the idea that fascism is a phenomenon of the political right. The left says it is, and some self-styled white supremacists and neo-Nazis embrace the label.

But are they correct?

To answer this question, we have to ask what fascism really means: What is its underlying ideology? Where does it even come from?

These are not easy questions to answer. We know the name of the philosopher of capitalism: Adam Smith. We know the name of the philosopher of Marxism: Karl Marx. But who’s the philosopher of fascism?

Yes—exactly. You don’t know. Don’t feel bad. Almost no one knows. This is not because he doesn’t exist, but because historians, most of whom are on the political left, had to erase him from history in order to avoid confronting fascism’s actual beliefs. So, let me introduce him to you. His name is Giovanni Gentile.

Born in 1875, he was one of the world’s most influential philosophers in the first half of the twentieth century. Gentile believed that there were two “diametrically opposed” types of democracy. One is liberal democracy, such as that of the United States, which Gentile dismisses as individualistic—too centered on liberty and personal rights—and therefore selfish. The other, the one Gentile recommends, is “true democracy,” in which individuals willingly subordinate themselves to the state.

Like his philosophical mentor, Karl Marx, Gentile wanted to create a community that resembles the family, a community where we are “all in this together.” It’s easy to see the attraction of this idea. Indeed, it remains a common rhetorical theme of the left.

For example, at the 1984 convention of the Democratic Party, the governor of New York, Mario Cuomo, likened America to an extended family where, through the government, people all take care of each other.

Nothing’s changed. Thirty years later, a slogan of the 2012 Democratic Party convention was, “The government is the only thing we all belong to.” They might as well have been quoting Gentile.

Now, remember, Gentile was a man of the left. He was a committed socialist. For Gentile, fascism is a form of socialism—indeed, its most workable form. While the socialism of Marx mobilizes people on the basis of class, fascism mobilizes people by appealing to their national identity as well as their class. Fascists are socialists with a national identity. German Fascists in the 1930s were called Nazis—basically a contraction of the term “national socialist.”

For Gentile, all private action should be oriented to serve society; there is no distinction between the private interest and the public interest. Correctly understood, the two are identical. And who is the administrative arm of the society? It’s none other than the state. Consequently, to submit to society is to submit to the state—not just in economic matters, but in all matters. Since everything is political, the state gets to tell everyone how to think and what to do.

It was another Italian, Benito Mussolini, the fascist dictator of Italy from 1922 to 1943, who turned Gentile’s words into action. In his Dottrina del Fascismo, one of the doctrinal statements of early fascism, Mussolini wrote, “All is in the state and nothing human exists or has value outside the state.” He was merely paraphrasing Gentile.

The Italian philosopher is now lost in obscurity, but his philosophy could not be more relevant because it closely parallels that of the modern left. Gentile’s work speaks directly to progressives who champion the centralized state. Here in America, the left has vastly expanded state control over the private sector, from healthcare to banking; from education to energy. This state-directed capitalism is precisely what German and Italian fascists implemented in the 1930s.

Leftists can’t acknowledge their man, Gentile, because that would undermine their attempt to bind conservatism to fascism. Conservatism wants small government so that individual liberty can flourish. The left, like Gentile, wants the opposite: to place the resources of the individual and industry in the service of a centralized state. To acknowledge Gentile is to acknowledge that fascism bears a deep kinship to the ideology of today’s left. So, they will keep Gentile where they’ve got him: dead, buried, and forgotten.

But we should remember, or the ghost of fascism will continue to haunt us.

Republic of the People or Tyranny of Democracy

Be very alert my fellow Conservative Americans!

 

I’m on the email list of Israpundit. Israpundit is a Pro-Israel blog founded and operated by Ted Belman. Israpundit does a lot of the same thing I do in cross posting interesting content from other sources. My Israpundit email list for 8/25/19 had the title “Who Is Antifa?” by Ray DiLorenzo of “STAND UP AMERICA” listed fifth. With all the Antifa violence going on, especially in Portland Oregon, the title piqued my interest.

 

Before I followed through with a cross post myself, I thought I’d do a little checking into Stand Up America. So I Googled it (Yeah I know, I should have Duck Duck Go’d it). I typed in “Stand Up America” and went to the first entry on the Google search engine. I was stunned!

 

The page loading from https://www.standupamerica.com/ is the word “RESIST” in large bold caps. Realizing these days that “RESIST” is the mantra of the Dems to all things relating to the Trump Administration, I warily scrolled down. Here are the words that greeted my curiosity:

 

“WE ARE STAND UP AMERICA

 

After the 2016 election, millions of progressives came together in the Stand Up America community to resist Trump’s dangerous agenda. We’re now focusing our efforts on standing up to the Trump administration’s corruption and strengthening our democracy across the country. We’re committed to providing you with the information you need to take timely, impactful action and make your voice heard.”

 

I thought, “WHAT?!” That description didn’t sound like a website that would expose Antifa but rather a website that would promote Antifa ideology. So I went to the website’s About Page for further clarification:

 

“WHAT WE DO — AND WHY WE DO IT:

 

Stand Up America began in the weeks after the 2016 election, when hundreds of thousands of concerned Americans came together online to organize and resist Trump’s dangerous agenda. Our community has quickly grown to over two million Americans, across all 50 states, who are taking action and making their voices heard daily.

 

We’re focused on advocating for an immediate impeachment inquiry to air the evidence of Trump’s crimes, standing up to his administration’s corruption, and strengthening our democracy across the country.

 

The Stand Up America team is here to provide you with the information and resources you need to take meaningful action. My God! Stand Up America sounds like a hate America-hate Trump Antifa sympathetic website. That couldn’t possibly be the folks Israpundit was cross posting to expose the Communist background of anti-American ideals of Antifa, right?

 

So I came to my senses and Duck Duck Go’d “Stand Up America” coupled with the author of the Israpundit exposé post’s name – Ray DiLorenzo.

 

And Shazam! I discovered DiLorenzo’s name was associated with another “Stand Up America.” To be precise though, the name is “STAND UP AMERICA US FOUNDATION.” And the URL is “http://www.standupamericaus.org/sua/”. The key being evil “Stand Up America” is a dot-com and good “Stand Up America” is a dot-org.

 

Stand Up America US’s About Page promotes the American principles of the U.S. Republic the Founding Fathers would have been proud. And NOT the concepts of “Democracy” that would have Founders churning in their graves:

What You Need To Know

Antifaschistische Aktion, abbreviated as Antifa or anti-fascist, was an organization affiliated with the Communist Party of Germany that existed from 1932 to 1933. In the postwar era the historical organization inspired new groups and networks, known as the wider Antifa movement, many of which use the aesthetics of the historical Antifaschistische Aktion, especially a modified version of its logo. There is much confusion as to who Antifa is, and what they stand for. First, let’s define fascism that they say they are against: Fascism is a set of political beliefs that includes strong control of society and the economy by the state, and the halting of any resistance. In a fascist nation, private enterprise would continue, but all private commercial endeavors would be heavily controlled by the state. Examples would be Nazi Germany and Mussolini’s Italy.

 

In a Communist society, all means of production would be owned and controlled by the state. Communism is theoretically classless and egalitarian. In reality, the ruling class always does very well. Examples would be the former Soviet Union, Communist China, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos and North Korea. All have had to introduce some form of capitalism to survive, some more than others. There are no pure Marxist systems in existence today. It simply does not work.

 

Hitler expelled the Communists from Germany in the early thirties as they were stealing his thunder and his voice. The Fuhrer was very impressed with Mussolini’s fascism and how effective it was, hence the fascist/Nazi alignment during World War II. These deported German Communists hit the U.S. college circuit, joining every major university, until they have now almost completely taken over our education system.

 

Fascism and Communism are not opposite ends of the spectrum, rather, they are first cousins on the left. Both are secular socialist with power being absolute with no opposition tolerated, especially from God. No natural rights, only that which they choose to dispense.

 

On Monday, a disenchanted former Antifa member was interviewed on Fox News. He was as confused as so many others. He called Antifa the real fascists. No, they are not fascists. Antifa was and is primarily a global Communist movement using fascist tactics…breaking up meetings, rallies, destroying property, clubbing a few people, etc. They use the moniker ‘anti-fascist’ to keep you confused with no idea as to their real intentions. Democrats don’t speak out because they are close relations…the militant wing of the party doing the dirty work, but keeping enough space between them to distract you. Democrats are not strangers to militant wings, hence the KKK.

 

They both have all the earmarks of beginning as organized crime. If someone wants free stuff from the government, they vote or support those that promise it. The money is taken from those that do work (oppressors) and gives it to those who won’t work (the oppressed). It’s a social & political contract. Give me power, I give you free stuff and will protect your receivership. Of course, if you give them enough power you will eventually no longer have a vote or a choice in the matter or even the free stuff.

 

Democrats love to promise what they know is impossible just to sit back and watch the Republicans say no, and then with expressions of righteous indignation explain in a press conference that Republicans just don’t care. Republicans fall for it every time.

 

Antifa are people that have been indoctrinated that America is an illegitimate country, built on the backs of slaves, racist to its very core where common citizens, especially those of color, have no chance at a decent life. They have been stirred up to a point of hate. They are either ignorant of history or just lying to themselves.

 

To Antifa, anyone that disagrees with them, is not entitled to free speech. Heck, anyone who disagrees with Democrats is labeled a racist, homophobe, whatever. They both see themselves as the arbiters of morality even while they are assaulting people and killing babies. Conservatives are not fascist. If there are fascists in this country, they will reside in the Democrat Party. What group of politicians works the hardest to control every aspect of commerce and limit freedoms?

 

If a group is going to seize power or arrange a civil war, you need a reason and that always points to a class of people, a faction, an enemy. And the Left is busy creating just that…an enemy they need to destroy in order to achieve their ends. You know, the middle class ‘racists’, ‘white supremacists’, ‘deplorables’, conservatives…all the people that are representative of the people that built this country. That would be everyone that isn’t a socialist, whatever the race. Hitler and Stalin would be proud.

 

The immediate goal of Antifa and the Left is to create chaos with anarchy close behind. The Antifa website, itsgoingdown.org admits that Antifa members are either Marxists, Maoists or anarchists. They urge their followers to make the country ungovernable and to participate in mass insurrection and physical violence….anarchy.

 

Many Democrat-controlled cities are close to anarchy now. San Francisco and Los Angeles are becoming unlivable. Dallas will not bother prosecuting theft unless it is over $750. Even the New York Times admits that Democrat-controlled cities are unlivable and that is saying a lot.

 

Why does the Left ignore Antifa? Why do they demand that prison populations be reduced? Why is the rule of law being assaulted? If violent demonstrations and mass shootings continue…the people will demand a heavy-handed response from the government…especially gun confiscation, making the country ripe for takeover. I am not convinced that the mass shootings as of late are totally unrelated. They seem to fit the intention nicely. Do not assume they wouldn’t stoop to such a low.

 

Who is funding Antifa has proven difficult. They are highly decentralized with loose affiliations with other groups. What we do know is that the Democrat Party and George Soros have used paid protest organizers and protesters in the past. We don’t believe the protesters are motivated by money, but rather their hatred of America. George Soros has an affiliation with Antifa through a group called The Alliance for Global Justice that supports Refuse Fascism, an Antifa group. Their goal is to “Drive out the Trump/Pence regime.”

 

There is no strong Fascist movement in America, but there is a strong Communist presence. Popular phrases such as social justice that Obama put into fashion are popular communist signals. The movement is now filled with every disenchanted dirt bag, with built-in Antifa Brown Shirts in attendance in case you’re not listening. This is no longer politics, but an attempt at a Communist/Socialist takeover of this country.

 

As we get closer to the 2020 election, and especially if the Democrats lose, I see cities like Portland, Oregon and a town near you descending into total chaos as the Left gets more aggressive in their attempt to be rid of Trump and the America we love.

 

If we do not get a handle on this problem soon, Western civilization will resemble a post-apocalyptic Mel Gibson movie.

Donald Trump is surging in the polls for the GOP nomination for President. Many pundits believe the rising polls is a temporary phenomenon that will change as the GOP nominee seekers dwindle down.

On a personal level I do not view Trump as an authentic Conservative representing the Republican base in less government and Conservative social issues. But what I do view Trump as is a candidate that is not spewing a political line. He is saying things that resonate with the Republican base but isn’t necessarily something that is doable, at least not on a grand scale.

Republican Conservatives want a guy that takes serious shots at undoing Obamination and confronting the GOP Establishment. That places a target on Trump from both Leftist Dems, RINOs and Republican Establishment nominal Conservatives. The RINOs and Establishment do not want Conservative change they want a status quo that enables political control.

Then enters Trump: A guy that is a billionaire, that his used to calling the shots even if he steps on toes, not particularly tied to Special Interest lobbyists because he was his own special interest and not willing to back off from criticism from a Trump-like bold and often outlandish statement.

Trump is leading the pack because he is providing a public image of not being asleep at the wheel that moves America in a correct forward manner. Take note I said forward and NOT Progressive.

You might ask, “Are you then endorsing Trump?”

Nope. I still don’t think he is the best candidate to reverse the Obama curse on America. HOWEVER if by some miracle Trump pulls off a GOP nomination, I WILL vote for him. BUT I do pray that the right candidate takes note of Trump’s current Republican voter populism and begins to employ it. I believe that will be the recipe to smack down whoever Leftwing Democrat that Party sets up as a nominee.

Now these thoughts were inspired by a video from the Rutherford Institute of John W. Whitehead talking about American voters being brainwashed a la the 1988 John Carpenter flick “They Live”. Whitehead presents a pretty good case that American voters are sleepwalking through a political system pretending to be a Representative Democratic Republic but in actuality reside in a Big Brother State doing what is told to be believed rather than thinking for their selves.

“You see them on the street. You watch them on TV. You might even vote for one this fall. You think they’re people just like you. You’re wrong. Dead wrong.”—They Live

We’re living in two worlds, you and I.

There’s the world we see (or are made to see) and then there’s the one we sense (and occasionally catch a glimpse of), the latter of which is a far cry from the propaganda-driven reality manufactured by the government and its corporate sponsors, including the media.

Indeed, what most Americans perceive as life in America—privileged, progressive and free—is a far cry from reality, where economic inequality is growing, real agendas and real power are buried beneath layers of Orwellian doublespeak and corporate obfuscation, and “freedom,” such that it is, is meted out in small, legalistic doses by militarized police armed to the teeth.

All is not as it seems.

This is the premise of John Carpenter’s film They Live (1988), in which two migrant workers discover that the world’s population is actually being controlled and exploited by aliens working in partnership with an oligarchic elite. All the while, the populace—blissfully unaware of the real agenda at work in their lives—has been lulled into complacency, indoctrinated into compliance, bombarded with media distractions, and hypnotized by subliminal messages beamed out of television and various electronic devices, billboards and the like.

It is only when homeless drifter John Nada (played to the hilt by the late Roddy Piper) discovers a pair of doctored sunglasses—Hoffman lenses—that Nada sees what lies beneath the elite’s fabricated reality: control and bondage.

When viewed through the lens of truth, the elite, who appear human until stripped of their disguises, are shown to be monsters who have enslaved the citizenry in order to prey on them. Likewise, billboards blare out hidden, authoritative messages: a bikini-clad woman in one ad is actually ordering viewers to “MARRY AND REPRODUCE.” Magazine racks scream “CONSUME” and “OBEY.” A wad of dollar bills in a vendor’s hand proclaims, “THIS IS YOUR GOD.”

When viewed through Nada’s Hoffman lenses, some of the other hidden messages being drummed into the people’s subconscious include: NO INDEPENDENT THOUGHT, CONFORM, SUBMIT, STAY ASLEEP, BUY, WATCH TV, NO IMAGINATION, and DO NOT QUESTION AUTHORITY.

This indoctrination campaign engineered by the elite in They Live is painfully familiar to anyone who has studied the decline of American culture. A citizenry that does not think for themselves, obeys without question, is submissive, does not challenge authority, does not think outside the box, and is content to sit back and be entertained is a citizenry that can be easily controlled.

In this way, the subtle message of They Live provides an apt analogy of our own distorted vision of life in the American police state, what philosopher Slavoj Žižek refers to as dictatorship in democracy, “the invisible order which sustains your apparent freedom.”

We’re being fed a series of carefully contrived fictions that bear no resemblance to reality. The powers-that-be want us to feel threatened by forces beyond our control (terrorists, shooters, bombers). They want us afraid and dependent on the government and its militarized armies for our safety and well-being. They want us distrustful of each other, divided by our prejudices, and at each other’s throats. Most of all, they want us to continue to march in lockstep with their dictates.

Tune out the government’s attempts to distract, divert and befuddle us and tune into what’s really going on in this country, and you’ll run headlong into an unmistakable, unpalatable truth: the moneyed elite who rule us view us as expendable resources to be used, abused and discarded.

In fact, a 2014 study conducted by Princeton and Northwestern University concluded that the U.S. government does not represent the majority of American citizens. Instead, the study found that the government is ruled by the rich and powerful, or the so-called “economic elite.” Moreover, the researchers concluded that policies enacted by this governmental elite nearly always favor special interests and lobbying groups.

In other words, we are being ruled by an oligarchy disguised as a democracy, and arguably on our way towards fascism—a form of government where private corporate interests rule, money calls the shots, and the people are seen as mere subjects to be controlled.

Consider this: it is estimated that the 2016 presidential election could cost as much as $5 billion, more than double what was spent getting Obama re-elected in 2012.

Not only do you have to be rich—or beholden to the rich—to get elected these days, but getting elected is also a surefire way to get rich. As CBS News reports, “Once in office, members of Congress enjoy access to connections and information they can use to increase their wealth, in ways that are unparalleled in the private sector. And once politicians leave office, their connections allow them to profit even further.”

In denouncing this blatant corruption of America’s political system, former president Jimmy Carter blasted the process of getting elected—to the White House, governor’s mansion, Congress or state legislatures—as “unlimited political bribery… a subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect, and sometimes get, favors for themselves after the election is over.”

Rest assured that when and if fascism finally takes hold in America, the basic forms of government will remain. As I point out in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, fascism will appear to be friendly. The legislators will be in session. There will be elections, and the news media will continue to cover the entertainment and political trivia. Consent of the governed, however, will no longer apply. Actual control will have finally passed to the oligarchic elite controlling the government behind the scenes.

By creating the illusion that it preserves democratic traditions, fascism creeps slowly until it consumes the political system. And in times of “crisis,” expediency is upheld as the central principle—that is, in order to keep us safe and secure, the government must militarize the police, strip us of basic constitutional rights, criminalize virtually every form of behavior, and build enough private prisons to house all of us nonviolent criminals.

Clearly, we are now ruled by an oligarchic elite of governmental and corporate interests. We have moved into “corporatism” (favored by Benito Mussolini), which is a halfway point on the road to full-blown fascism.

Vast sectors of the economy, government and politics are managed by private business concerns, otherwise referred to as “privatization” by various government politicians. Just study modern government policies. “Every industry is regulated. Every profession is classified and organized,” writes economic analyst Jeffrey Tucker. “Every good or service is taxed. Endless debt accumulation is preserved. Immense doesn’t begin to describe the bureaucracy. Military preparedness never stops, and war with some evil foreign foe, remains a daily prospect.”

In other words, the government in America today does whatever it wants.

Corporatism is where the few moneyed interests—not elected by the citizenry—rule over the many. In this way, it is not a democracy or a republican form of government, which is what the American government was established to be. It is a top-down form of government and one which has a terrifying history typified by the developments that occurred in totalitarian regimes of the past: police states where everyone is watched and spied on, rounded up for minor infractions by government agents, placed under police control, and placed in detention (a.k.a. concentration) camps.

For the final hammer of fascism to fall, it will require the most crucial ingredient: the majority of the people will have to agree that it’s not only expedient but necessary. But why would a people agree to such an oppressive regime? The answer is the same in every age: fear.

Fear makes people stupid.

Fear is the method most often used by politicians to increase the power of government. And, as most social commentators recognize, an atmosphere of fear permeates modern America: fear of terrorism, fear of the police, fear of our neighbors and so on.

The propaganda of fear has been used quite effectively by those who want to gain control, and it is working on the American populace.

Despite the fact that we are 17,600 times more likely to die from heart disease than from a terrorist attack; 11,000 times more likely to die from an airplane accident than from a terrorist plot involving an airplane; 1,048 times more likely to die from a car accident than a terrorist attack, and 8 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by a terrorist, we have handed over control of our lives to government officials who treat us as a means to an end—the source of money and power.

We have allowed ourselves to become fearful, controlled, pacified zombies.

In this regard, we’re not so different from the oppressed citizens in They Live. Most everyone keeps their heads down these days while staring zombie-like into an electronic screen, even when they’re crossing the street. Families sit in restaurants with their heads down, separated by their screen devices and unaware of what’s going on around them. Young people especially seem dominated by the devices they hold in their hands, oblivious to the fact that they can simply push a button, turn the thing off and walk away.

Indeed, there is no larger group activity than that connected with those who watch screens—that is, television, lap tops, personal computers, cell phones and so on. In fact, a Nielsen study reports that American screen viewing is at an all-time high. For example, the average American watches approximately 151 hours of television per month.

The question, of course, is what effect does such screen consumption have on one’s mind?

Psychologically it is similar to drug addiction. Researchers found that “almost immediately after turning on the TV, subjects reported feeling more relaxed, and because this occurs so quickly and the tension returns so rapidly after the TV is turned off, people are conditioned to associate TV viewing with a lack of tension.” Research also shows that regardless of the programming, viewers’ brain waves slow down, thus transforming them into a more passive, nonresistant state.

Historically, television has been used by those in authority to quiet discontent and pacify disruptive people. “Faced with severe overcrowding and limited budgets for rehabilitation and counseling, more and more prison officials are using TV to keep inmates quiet,” according to Newsweek.

Given that the majority of what Americans watch on television is provided through channels controlled by six mega corporations, what we watch is now controlled by a corporate elite and, if that elite needs to foster a particular viewpoint or pacify its viewers, it can do so on a large scale.

If we’re watching, we’re not doing.

The powers-that-be understand this. As television journalist Edward R. Murrow warned in a 1958 speech:

We are currently wealthy, fat, comfortable and complacent. We have currently a built-in allergy to unpleasant or disturbing information. Our mass media reflect this. But unless we get up off our fat surpluses and recognize that television in the main is being used to distract, delude, amuse, and insulate us, then television and those who finance it, those who look at it, and those who work at it, may see a totally different picture too late.

This brings me back to They Live, in which the real zombies are not the aliens calling the shots but the populace who are content to remain controlled.

When all is said and done, the world of They Live is not so different from our own. As one of the characters points out, “The poor and the underclass are growing. Racial justice and human rights are nonexistent. They have created a repressive society and we are their unwitting accomplices. Their intention to rule rests with the annihilation of consciousness. We have been lulled into a trance. They have made us indifferent to ourselves, to others. We are focused only on our own gain.”

We, too, are focused only on our own pleasures, prejudices and gains. Our poor and underclasses are also growing. Racial injustice is growing. Human rights is nearly nonexistent. We too have been lulled into a trance, indifferent to others.

Oblivious to what lies ahead, we’ve been manipulated into believing that if we continue to consume, obey, and have faith, things will work out. But that’s never been true of emerging regimes. And by the time we feel the hammer coming down upon us, it will be too late.

Fascism and Trade in America


Justin Smith details how Obama’s Secret negotiations involving TPA and TiSA will undermine American sovereignty and rend Congress impotent on Immigration Policy that disfavors American employment in our own homeland. Consider this quote before reading Justin’s exposé:

It should be noted that much of the text is a proposed draft for negotiation, and within the text, numerous parts of specific provisions are bracketed to denote which countries support or oppose particular sections or language within sections. But the thrust of the text in the annex is clear. For example, Article 4 is about the schedules (i.e., lists) of commitments that countries will have to put together regarding the “Entry and Temporary Stay of Natural Persons,” and a proposed version of Article 4, Section 2 would prohibit member states from “maintain[ing] or adopt[ing] Economic Needs Tests, including labor market tests, as a requirement for a visa or work permit” in the sectors where commitments are made. (In other words, U.S. laws or regulations limiting guest workers only to jobs where no U.S. workers were available would violate the terms of the treaty.)

TiSA has been written in secret by and for major corporations that will benefit greatly if it becomes law. If the House of Representatives grants the Obama administration the fast-track trade promotion authority it seeks, the authority will be valid for six years, which means TiSA (like TPP) would also get an up-or-down vote in Congress without any amendments—making it very likely to pass and become law without the necessary democratic deliberations on immigration that such major changes should have. The leaked TiSA text makes it clear that contrary to the claims by proponents of fast-track trade promotion authority, the reality is that those voting for fast track are ceding key powers to make immigration law and policy to an unelected group of corporations and foreign governments. Fascism and Trade in America

Optimism and Sheer Blind Stupidity

America is being sold out, and corporate interests are being placed above the interests of the American people, through the passage of Trade Promotion Authority and the subsequent scheduled anti-American trade “deals” already under final preparations towards a vote, like the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Trade in Services Agreement. She is being sold out by a Republican majority, who value cheap labor, the “almighty” dollar and their own self-interests above America; by some Democrats, who value open borders and the advancement of global governance agendas over U.S. sovereignty.

On May 21st the Senate approved TPA, and Congress agreed on July 12th by a 218-208 vote. Congress also severed the symbiotic nature that the Senate had created between the TPA and the Trade Adjustment Assistance bill, so the failure of either would not prevent the other one from advancing into law; the Senate will give a final vote on TPA sometime between now and July 31st.

When Congress suspends several of its most basic powers for the next six years and delegates them to the executive and Obama, who exhibits a caustic disdain for Our U.S. Constitution, just exactly how does this advance the best interests of the American people?

Under fast-track procedures, Obama writes implementing legislation unaltered and without any Congressional amendments or input, for any yet-unseen global trade agreement, no matter its content and how far reaching it might be. Once it is called to the floor, it is only allowed 20 hours of debate, and the vote threshold is lowered to a simple majority, rather than the 60 votes threshold of most major legislation or the 67 votes required to pass treaties; in essence, Congress has preapproved swift consideration of sweeping global treaties before reading the first word of text, contradicting misleading and erroneous assertions from the offices of Representative Diane Black, Marsha Blackburn, Scott DesJarlais and several others.

Andy McCarthy (political analyst) tells us there is not any danger in passing the TPA. He suggests that Congress and the Senate can simply vote down bad trade deals, however, lowering TPA’s threshold for passage to a simple majority will potentially make it easier for a bad deal to pass. And every single “trade deal” currently under consideration is bad for America.

Either our representatives are blissfully optimistic, or they are suffering from sheer blind stupidity, regarding fascism and “trade deals.” With 76% of our trade with the eleven other Trans-Pacific Partnership participants already covered by NAFTA, TPP is a blatant attempt by globalists to transfer a host of issues from the control of the U.S. Congress and state legislatures to international trade courts; and, the TPP is more centered on redistribution of U.S. wealth than on the mythical creature called “free trade.”

Far from facilitating “free trade,” TPP places U.S. companies at a clear disadvantage by exempting foreign countries from standards mandated by U.S. law (i.e. EPA), and it allows other harmful practices to continue. It does not address currency manipulation, which has the same impact on trade as tariffs, and even if it did, the world has witnessed past trade courts deliver incomprehensible rulings from the IMF concerning China’s numerous violations. It does not address the foreign border adjustable taxes (VATS), which are also de facto tariffs, and it does not properly address the problem of government subsidies to state-owned enterprises. And unfathomably, it allows the Investor State Dispute Resolution to be handled by the foreign tribunals, without providing any rationale as to why the U.S. Court systems are not good enough.

If these broad sweeping trade agreements that the U.S. has entered over past decades, like NAFTA, the Australian Free Trade Agreement, CAFTA and the U.S.-Korea agreement (KORUS), are so good for the American people, why have we found it now necessary to create and implement the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program, which provides federal aid to U.S. workers who lose their jobs due to foreign trade?

While Speaker John Boehner, Paul Ryan (R-WI) – House Ways and Means Chairman, Senators Bob Corker (R-TN) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) have been assuring everyone that the TPP section on immigration does not enable the free flow of labor across borders, they have failed to mention that this subject is the entire focus of the soon-to-follow Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) [WikiLeaks]. Under Article 4 concerning “Entry and Temporary Stay of National Persons”, provisions for open immigration are seen, according to the Economic Policy Institute, that state signatories “shall not maintain or adopt Economic Needs Tests, including labor market tests, as a requirement for a visa or work permit; essentially stating that U.S. laws limiting guest workers, only to jobs where no U.S. workers are available, are a violation of the treaty [See Also: TiSA Means Open Borders – Real Clear Politics 6/17/15].

Article 5 of TISA would allow corporations to transfer an unlimited number of foreign employees to America, under the guise of “contractual suppliers” and “business visitors”, in the same manner as the European Union does through its requirements for the free flow of labor. And just as this has caused double-digit unemployment in Western Europe, America can expect the TISA to increase U.S. unemployment numbers already in double-digits, if the truth were made plain by this administration and both political parties.

Since 1970, real hourly wages in the U.S. are lower today than they were more than four decades ago. The percentage of unemployed men ages 25-54 has grown from 6% in the 1960s to about 17% today, and since 2009, the number of women in the workforce has fallen by 3%.

Every American who loves this country should be demanding at the top of their voices that the Senate votes “NO” on TPP and TISA and any other trade deal that does not increase U.S. manufacturing jobs, opens foreign markets, reduces trade deficits and makes it easier for our businesses to succeed in America. Demand that Senators and negotiators put an end to deals that only benefit transnational mega corporations by allowing the movement of capital, businesses and people across borders without controls, damaging U.S. sovereignty. And demand that our leaders protect American interests, principles of responsible government, U.S. sovereignty and the American people.

Ultimately, this is about more than trade deals. The events of today will determine if America will retain Her sovereignty and power tomorrow. And, the American people must force their will over these events to ensure that Americans will rule themselves, rather than be ruled by bureaucrats, corporatists and transnationalist fascists.

Here is the next group of Presidents that may have been involved in impeachable crimes. In the last post of Nefarious Presidential Actions was Teddy to Harding. Just as a point of reprise these posts are in response to a G+ exchange between myself and Gideon Money who is one of the Liberals that can’t see past the Obama cover-up with the typical blind support for President Barack Hussein Obama and his impeachable actions:

Calvin Coolidge: 8/2/1923 to 3/4/1929

 

At 2:30 on the morning of August 3, 1923, while visiting in Vermont, Calvin Coolidge received word that he was President. By the light of a kerosene lamp, his father, who was a notary public, administered the oath of office as Coolidge placed his hand on the family Bible.

 

Coolidge was “distinguished for character more than for heroic achievement,” wrote a Democratic admirer, Alfred E. Smith. “His great task was to restore the dignity and prestige of the Presidency when it had reached the lowest ebb in our history … in a time of extravagance and waste….” (Calvin Coolidge; WhiteHouse.gov)

 

Notorious for saying practically nothing when not giving a public speech, Calvin Coolidge takes the second spot of controversial-free presidents on this list. Herbert Hoover: 3/4/1929 – 3/4/1933

 

As a kid growing up in Washington State, whenever Herbert Hoover’s name was mentioned in my family the look of disgust came from both my Grandmother and my Mother. My Grandmother was a young adult and mother of three children during the depression and my Mother was one of those children. Their memories of Conservative Republican President Hoover were not fond. My Grandmother and Mother idolized Hoover’s successor – President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. My family blamed Hoover for the Depression making them lifelong Democrats.

 

As much as the voting Americans blamed Hoover for the Great Depression he really did nothing impeachable. Hoover became unpopular and with about seven or eight months left in his term of Office in election year 1932 (Hoover would later loose in a landslide to FDR), an incident took place which was huge at the time. In 1924 WWI veterans were promised a bonus that would mature in 1945. By 1932 the Great Depression was in full swing in the USA with unemployed, homeless and hungry Americans all over the place. This included WWI veterans who were involved in the world’s most horrific war in terms wounded and killed in history. The WWI veterans began to grumble for an early payment of their promised 1945 bonus to occur in 1932. To protest WWI vets, their wives and children organized a march to Washington DC to make their grievance clear to Congress and President Hoover. The organized marchers called themselves the Bonus Expeditionary Force (BEF) after the term used for the U.S. Army contingent sent to Europe to fight Kaiser Wilhelm’s German army in 1917. That contingent was called the American Expeditionary Force. The American press called the BEF the Bonus Army, the Bonus March or the Bonus Army March.

 

I have read three versions of what happened during this march. I can summarize the part that might have been impeachable for Hoover. The U.S. Army led by General Douglas MacArthur was sent to Washington DC to break up and disperse the BEF. Violent confrontation eventually took place and a few veterans died and wives and children were under threat of MacArthur led violence. The impeachable Offense was in using the Army as a police force in a domestic issue with the use of armed infantry and tanks. According to a Congressional Act passed in 1878, mobilizing the army to engage in police action on U.S. was supposed to be illegal without prior authorization from Congress. This law is still on the books today and is called the Posse Comitatus Act:

The Posse Comitatus Act is a law of the United States (18 USC 1385) passed in 1878, after the end of Reconstruction, and was intended to prohibit Federal troops from supervising elections in former Confederate states. It generally prohibits Federal military personnel and units of the United States National Guard under Federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. The original act only referred to the Army, but the Air Force was added in 1956 and the Navy and Marine Corps have been included by a regulation of the Department of Defense. This law is mentioned whenever it appears that the Department of Defense is interfering in domestic disturbances.

 

There are a number of exceptions to the act. These include

 

·         National Guard units while under the authority of the governor of a state

 

·         troops when used in pursuant to the Federal authority to quell domestic violence as was the case during the Rodney King riots

 

The relevant legislation is as follows:

 

Sec. 1385. – Use of Army and Air Force as posse comitatus

 

Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

 

The three versions I read have a bit different views of what happened with the most detailed being written by a person that begins by glorifying FDR as a person that “rewrote history”. The brief description is then clarified in the most positive of lights.

 

The Bonus Army was the popular name of an assemblage of some 43,000 marchers—17,000 World War I veterans, their families, and affiliated groups—who gathered in Washington, D.C., in the spring and summer of 1932 to demand cash-payment redemption of their service certificates. Its organizers called it the Bonus Expeditionary Force to echo the name of World War I’s American Expeditionary Forces, while the media called it the Bonus March. It was led by Walter W. Waters, a former Army sergeant.

Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler, one of the most popular military figures of the time, visited their camp to back the effort and encourage them.[1] On July 28, U.S. Attorney General William D. Mitchell ordered the veterans removed from all government property. Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two veterans were wounded and later died. Veterans were also shot dead at other locations during the demonstration. President Herbert Hoover then ordered the army to clear the veterans’ campsite. Army Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur commanded the infantry and cavalry supported by six tanks. The Bonus Army marchers with their wives and children were driven out, and their shelters and belongings burned.

…  Attorney General William D. Mitchell ordered the police to remove the Bonus Army veterans from their camp. When the veterans moved back into it, they rushed two policemen trapped on the second floor of a building. The cornered police drew their revolvers and shot two veterans, William Hushka and Eric Carlson, who died later.[11][12]

At 4:45 p.m., commanded by Gen. Douglas MacArthur, the 12th Infantry Regiment, Fort Howard, Maryland, and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, supported by six battle tanks commanded by Maj. George S. Patton, formed in Pennsylvania Avenue while thousands of civil service employees left work to line the street and watch. The Bonus Marchers, believing the troops were marching in their honor, cheered the troops until Patton ordered[citation needed] the cavalry to charge them—an action which prompted the spectators to yell, “Shame! Shame!”

 

After the cavalry charged, the infantry, with fixed bayonets and tear gas (adamsite, an arsenical vomiting agent) entered the camps, evicting veterans, families, and camp followers. The veterans fled across the Anacostia River to their largest camp and President Hoover ordered the assault stopped. However Gen. MacArthur, feeling the Bonus March was an attempt to overthrow the U.S. government, ignored the President and ordered a new attack. Fifty-five veterans were injured and 135 arrested.[12] A veteran’s wife miscarried. When 12-week-old Bernard Myers died in the hospital after being caught in the tear gas attack, a government investigation reported he died of enteritis, while a hospital spokesman said the tear gas “didn’t do it any good.”[16]

 

During the military operation, Major Dwight D. Eisenhower, later the 34th President of the United States, served as one of MacArthur’s junior aides.[17] Believing it wrong for the Army’s highest-ranking officer to lead an action against fellow American war veterans, he strongly advised MacArthur against taking any public role: “I told that dumb son-of-a-bitch not to go down there,” he said later. “I told him it was no place for the Chief of Staff.”[18] Despite his misgivings, Eisenhower later wrote the Army’s official incident report which endorsed MacArthur’s conduct.[19]

Their goal was simple: in the starving season of despair that engulfed America, now known as the Great Depression, the veterans rather reasonably begged for the early distribution of funds the government promised them. Specifically, they wanted immediate payment of a soldiers’ “bonus” promised by the World War Adjusted Compensation Act of 1924; the bonus was to be distributed in 1945 but if the men could receive it in 1932 it was estimated it would amount to approximately $500 per man.

The BEF marchers encamped in parks, dumps, abandoned warehouses, and empty stores. They were unarmed and determined to act like peaceful and law abiding citizens; they had taken care to ferret out and expel radicals preaching revolution and violence from their ranks. Despite their evident hunger they didn’t panhandle. To many observers they appeared too weak and pitiful to pose a menace; one reporter described them as “ragged, weary… with no hope on their faces.”

 

… It’s estimated that over one hundred thousand Washingtonians lined the streets as the veterans marched down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.  …

… Their vigil became a test of endurance and heartbreak and was watched by the entire nation.

 

The President, his Attorney General William Mitchell, and most of Congress railed against the BEF as “dangerous insurgents” and “violent socialists.” The Hearst newspapers and other conservative organs decried them as radicals; many said there wasn’t a true veteran among their number, that they were fakes and frauds and criminals. Others took pity; truckloads of food arrived from goodhearted people all over the country. A hundred loaves of bread were shipped each day from a sympathetic baker and pies came from another. Many people worried about the women and children and a health inspector described the encampments spread around Washington as “extremely bad and unhealthful.” The men tried to raise money by staging boxing and wrestling bouts among themselves and charging the locals a small admission to watch; they willingly beat themselves into submission and raised about $2500.00 to buy food and small comforts.

… The police, under the supervision of a retired general named Pelham Glassford, tried to respond with a degree of kindness. After Hoover made it clear he was going to do absolutely nothing to alleviate their hardship, the police began to offer weak coffee, stale bread and watered down stew at six cents a day to the marchers. This enraged Hoover who said the police were pandering to criminals. Congress formally rebuked Glassford for ever allowing the marchers to enter the city in the first place. The police department’s small relief effort withered away under the glare of presidential and Congressional condemnation.

 

The BEF was a humiliation to the Administration and as summer wore on there was an overall hardening across the land against the BEF. The majority of the country’s newspapers took up the cause on behalf of Hoover, his Attorney General and those in Congress, all of whom continued to insist the marchers were dangerous socialists and anarchists, and that most had never served one day in service to their country. Typically, many Americans were persuaded by such official claims – but not all. Will Rogers said the BEF had the “record for being the best behaved” of any “hungry men assembled anywhere in the world” and some military leaders like General Billy Mitchell and Marine Corps General Smedley Butler had the courage to say the men should be paid their bonuses early.

One of them, Brigadier General George Moseley, wanted the bonus marchers arrested and sent to “concentration camps on one of the sparsely inhabited islands of the Hawaiian group not suitable for growing sugar” so they could “stew in their own filth.” Moseley also thought that while the government was in the business of rounding up American citizens it might as well do it right and round up people of “inferior blood” (presumably to be handled in similar fashion). Remarkably, no one thought Moseley was a lunatic. Years later Dwight Eisenhower, who knew Moseley well, described him as “a brilliant” and “dynamic officer.”

 

On July 28th the Attorney General declared the BEF was “guilty of begging and other acts” and ordered police chief Glassford to evacuate all veterans encamped on any piece of government property. Police wielding nightsticks decided to first clear out abandoned buildings where some of the BEF squatted and their raid began peacefully enough because most of the marchers were taken by surprise and disorganized. Word spread quickly, however, and angry BEF reinforcements arrived from camps across town. They began to throw bricks and the police fired back; horrified, Glassford shouted orders for the police to hold their fire, but the skirmish cost two veterans their lives and several more were seriously wounded.

 

Hoover was appalled; he ordered Secretary of War Patrick J. Hurley to deploy troops. Hoover also issued a communiqué announcing the military would “put an end to rioting and defiance of civil authority” and charging that the men who clashed with police were “entirely of the Communist element.”

 

Secretary of War Hurley gave the order to Four-Star General Douglas MacArthur. … A young career officer named Dwight D. Eisenhower was MacArthur’s aide and Ike strongly protested against military intervention; he warned his boss it was a “political matter for civilian authorities.” Specifically, he called the clash between the BEF and the police a “street corner brawl” and said it was inappropriate for a general to become involved in a local political issue.

 

MacArthur, of course, disagreed. “There is incipient revolution in the air!” he snapped. “We’re going to break the back of the BEF.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt: 3/4/1933 to 4/12/1945

 

He was elected President in November 1932, to the first of four terms. By March there were 13,000,000 unemployed, and almost every bank was closed. In his first “hundred days,” he proposed, and Congress enacted, a sweeping program to bring recovery to business and agriculture, relief to the unemployed and to those in danger of losing farms and homes, and reform, especially through the establishment of the Tennessee Valley Authority.

 

By 1935 the Nation had achieved some measure of recovery, but businessmen and bankers were turning more and more against Roosevelt’s New Deal program. They feared his experiments, were appalled because he had taken the Nation off the gold standard and allowed deficits in the budget, and disliked the concessions to labor. Roosevelt responded with a new program of reform: Social Security, heavier taxes on the wealthy, new controls over banks and public utilities, and an enormous work relief program for the unemployed.

Gideon Money will decry the sources I use as information on FDR information. The reason being criticism of FDR is still considered a moral evil by Liberals-Leftists-Progressives just as criticism and exposés of Obama are considered a moral evil. So am going to share some FDR criticism from respected Conservatives. Trust me I can find some FDR criticism that has enough elements of truth to sound credible but the polemical style is so vindictive that the Progressive crowd can easily refute the vindictiveness as Right Wing propaganda. Really stabbing on FDR is the website WhatReallyHappened.com which takes some evidentiary facts and make them sound like pejorative pros. That website’s post of the FDR Scandal Page is full of info that I know Gideon will dismiss as unsubstantiated information. If you check out the full link there is the appearance that WhatReallyHappened.com did a little cross posting from a Geocites page. Progressives and Liberals alike can be somewhat critical of a Joe-American free website posting exposés. Hence in all honesty I used the FDR Scandal Page as a reference to search from more reputable Conservatives.

 

Recall when I was examining Herbert Hoover that I wrote my Grandmother and Mother grew up in during the Great Depression. I shared the family that raised me loathed Hoover in blame for this Depression and idolized FDR for fixing the roughly decade long Depression.

 

The program developed by the FDR Administration was called the New Deal. The problem I have with my family idolizing FDR was more the result of a very effective propaganda campaign that simply did not match the reality of the statistics.

 

For 70 years there has been a holy creed–spread by academia until accepted by media and most Americans–that Franklin D. Roosevelt cured the Great Depression. That belief spurred the growth of modern liberalism; conservatives are still on the defensive where modern historians are concerned.

 

Not so anymore when the facts are considered. Now a scholar at the libertarian Cato Institute has demonstrated that (a) not only did Roosevelt not end the Depression, but (b) by incompetent measures, he prolonged it. But FDR’s myth has sold. Roosevelt, the master of the fireside chat, was powerful. His style has been equaled but not excelled.

 

Throughout the New Deal period, median unemployment was 17.2 percent. Joblessness never dipped below 14 percent, writes Jim Powell in a preview of his soon-to-be-published (by Crown Forum) FDR’s Folly: How Franklin Roosevelt and His New Deal Prolonged the Great Depression. Powell argues that the major cause of the Depression was not stock market abuses but the Federal Reserve, which contracted the money supply by a third between 1929 and 1933. Then, the New Deal made it more expensive to hire people, adding to unemployment by concocting the National Industrial Recovery Act, which created some 700 cartels with codes mandating above-market wages. It made things worse, ”by doubling taxes, making it more expensive for employers to hire people, making it harder for entrepreneurs to raise capital, demonizing employers, destroying food . . . breaking up the strongest banks, forcing up the cost of living, channeling welfare away from the poorest people and enacting labor laws that hit poor African Americans especially hard,” Powell writes.

 

Taxes spiraled (as a percentage of gross national product), jumping from 3.5 percent in 1933 to 6.9 percent in 1940. An undistributed profits tax was introduced. Securities laws made it harder for employers to raise capital. In ”an unprecedented crusade against big employers,” the Justice Department hired 300 lawyers, who filed 150 antitrust lawsuits. Winning few prosecutions, the antitrust crusade not only flopped, but wracked an already reeling economy. At the same time, a retail price maintenance act allowed manufacturers to jack up retail prices of branded merchandise, which blocked chain stores from discounting prices, hitting consumers.

 

Roosevelt’s central banking ”reform” broke up the strongest banks, those engaged in commercial investment banking, ”because New Dealers imagined that securities underwriting was a factor in all bank failures,” but didn’t touch the cause of 90 percent of the bank failures: state and federal unit banking laws. Canada, which allowed nationwide branch banking, had not a single bank failure during the Depression. The New Deal Fed hiked banks’ reserve requirement by 50 percent in July 1936, then increased it another 33.3 percent. This ”triggered a contraction of the money supply, which was one of the most important factors bringing on the Depression of 1938–the third most severe since World War I. Real GNP declined 18 percent and industrial production was down 32 percent.”

 

Roosevelt’s National Recovery Administration hit the little guy worst of all, Powell writes. In 1934, Jacob Maged, a 49-year-old immigrant, was fined and jailed three months for charging 35 cents to press a suit rather rather (sic) than 40 cents mandated by the Fed’s dry cleaning code. The NRA was later ruled unconstitutional. To raise farm prices, Roosevelt’s farm policy plowed under 10 million acres of cultivated land, preventing wheat, corn and other crops from reaching the hungry. Hog farmers were paid to slaughter about 6 million young hogs, protested by John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath. New Deal relief programs were steered away from the South, the nation’s poorest region. ”A reported 15,654 people were forced from their homes to make way for dams,” Powell writes. ”Farm owners received cash settlements for their condemned property, but the thousands of black tenant farmers got nothing.”

 

In contrast, the first Depression of the 20th century, in 1920, lasted only a year after Warren Harding cut taxes, slashed spending and returned to the poker table. But with the Great Depression, the myth has grown that unemployment and economic hardship were ended by magical New Deal fiat. The truth: The Depression ended with the buildup to World War II. In 2008 (2009 in paperback) Burton W. Folsom, Jr. wrote a book with a similar title Roeser’s review (entitled: FDR’s Raw Deal Exposed) of Jim Powell’s book written in 2003: “FDR’s Folly: How Franklin Roosevelt and His New Deal Prolonged the Great Depression” (similar PDF written for CATO Institute). Folsom’s book is entitled “New Deal or Raw Deal?: How FDR’s Economic Legacy Has Damaged America”. I realize Folsom, Roeser and Powell are people that express a Conservative view on Economics. This means my critic Gideon Money would cry ‘these guys are Conservatives and hence Right Wing propagandists and unreliable.’

 

The problem I have with such a cop-out criticism is that if you click on the bios I linked to their names, you will see they well educated with MA’s and Ph.D.’s. These guys are Academics that paid their dues in acquiring their degrees. Just because they affiliate themselves with Conservative politics, history and/or Economics does not make them non-credentialed. So if Gideon’s maintains the inept line of Right Wing Propagandists then that exposes his prejudice more than validates his argument.

 

Here is another well respected Academic – Thomas Sowell – who is a Free Market Economist that praises Folsom’s book on FDR Folly written at the often dissed Conservative Internet news site WorldNetDaily:

 

Guess who said the following: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.” Was it Sarah Palin? Rush Limbaugh? Karl Rove?

 

Not even close. It was Henry Morgenthau, secretary of the treasury under Franklin D. Roosevelt and one of FDR’s closest advisers. He added, “After eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started … and an enormous debt to boot!”


This is just one of the remarkable and eye-opening facts in a must-read book titled “New Deal or Raw Deal?” by professor Burton W. Folsom Jr. of Hillsdale College.

Roosevelt blamed the country’s woes on the problems he inherited from his predecessor, much as Barack Obama does today. But unemployment was 20 percent in the spring of 1939, six long years after Herbert Hoover had left the White House.

 

Whole generations have been “educated” to believe that the Roosevelt administration is what got this country out of the Great Depression. History textbooks by famous scholars like Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. of Harvard and Henry Steele Commager of Columbia have enshrined FDR as a historic savior of this country, and lesser lights in the media and elsewhere have perpetuated the legend.

In more recent years, there have been both academic studies and popular books debunking some of the myths about the New Deal. Nevertheless, Professor Folsom’s book “New Deal or Raw Deal?” breaks new ground. Although written by an academic scholar and based on years of documented research, it is as readable as a newspaper – and a lot more informative than most.

Far from pulling the country out of the Great Depression by following Keynesian policies, FDR created policies that prolonged the Depression until it was more than twice as long as any other depression in American history. Moreover, Roosevelt’s ad hoc improvisations followed nothing as coherent as Keynesian economics. To the extent that FDR followed the ideas of any economist, it was an obscure economist at the University of Wisconsin, who was disdained by other economists and who was regarded with contempt by John Maynard Keynes.

The very first task undertaken by Roosevelt upon taking office was saving the country’s banks, which had shut down the day of his inauguration. … And by saving the system they meant consolidating the hold of the biggest banks.

Once the system was saved from total meltdown, Roosevelt and his “Brain Trust” initiated a variety of programs to convince the country that they could end the Depression. One such was the public works program, most famous in its later WPA (Works Progress Administration) incarnation, but originally known as the Public Works Administration, and which was originally proposed by some FDR advisers to work in tandem with the National Recovery Administration. Together the two would hasten recovery: the former would put money in the pockets of workers so that they could spend them on businesses overseen by the latter.

Says Schlesinger: “though the code authority exercised public powers, it was not a public body. It was, as [NRA administrator Hugh] Johnson put it, ‘an agency of the employers in an industry.’” The result was just enough renewed economic activity to keep the biggest corporations from going under. Thus Maurice Spector could write in the New International in 1938 that there had been no recovery in the sense of an expansion of capital, of increasing opportunities for accumulation, which is the norm for a recovering capitalist economy. Instead “capital secured its profits by restriction” of production, reviving existing production facilities to levels still below the 1920s peaks. FDR was elected to an unbeatable record four terms. A record due to blank Amendment inspired by those four terms. FDR barely got into his fourth term when he was taken down by a massive cerebral hemorrhage on April 12, 1945.

 

FDR also his share of personal scandals pertaining to mistresses and his wife Eleanor. I have run out of space and time to write about those here. Even in the 1940s Christian Morality was still central as cultural mainstay. In all probability if FDR’s tryst became proven public knowledge I suspect would have resigned. It should come as no surprise to many of you to find out that Monsanto actually authored the wording of its own Monsanto Protection Act hidden in the recently passed and signed Continuing Resolution spending bill. How could a major corporation write its own laws and regulations, you ask?

 

Quite frankly I think it’s important to understand that the entire Senate passed the bill containing the Protection Act, but the politician who actually gave Monsanto the pen in order to write their very own legislation is no others than Roy Blunt — a Republican Senator from Missouri. As the latest IB Times article reveals, the Missouri politician worked with Monsanto to write the Monsanto Protection Act. This was confirmed by a New York news report I will get to shortly.

 

As you probably know I do not play the political clown game of left versus right, and instead highlight corruption and wrongdoing wherever it is found — regardless of party affiliation. In the case of Senator Blunt, he admits to colluding with Monsanto, a corporation that has literally been caught running ‘slave-like’ working conditions in which workers are unable to leave or eat (among many worse misdeeds).

 

This is one of the most blatant offenses against the citizens of the United States I’ve seen in a long time. A population that Blunt swore to serve. It’s not for the United States public at all, and it’s a serious matter that I don’t think is properly understood. The passing of this bill into law means that Monsanto is now immune from federal courts regarding any suspension or action on their crops that have been deemed to be dangerous to the people (or the environment).

Loutsios & Sons Ltd., co-owned by Loutsios John, the husband of Nikos Anastasiadis’ daughter, Elsa, took five promissory notes worth €21 million from Laiki Bank. The money was then transferred to London, reported Cypriot newspaper Harangue, affiliated to the communist-rooted AKEL party.

 

The withdrawal was fulfilled just three days before the Eurogroup meeting when euro finance ministers agreed a 10 billion euro ($13 billion) bailout for Cyprus.

 

The company, however, has firmly denied the reports.

Earlier in March the Eurogroup proposed the Cypriot government impose a new tax that would make citizens shoulder a 12.5-percent crisis tax on savings larger than €100,000, with a tax of 3 percent on smaller deposits.

At dawn of March 25, Cyprus and the troika of international backers (EU, ECB, IMF) reached agreement on a €10bn bailout plan, aimed at preventing the bankruptcy of the island’s financial system and the country’s exit from the Eurozone.

 

The depositors holding over 100,000 euros at the Bank of Cyprus will lose 37.5 per cent in money in exchange for bank shares. These big depositors may further lose up to 22.5 per cent more if the experts consider bank’s balance insufficient.

 

This means that those with big deposits in Cyprus’ largest bank could lose could lose up to 60 percent of their savings in a harsh new EU and IMF bailout deal. Those with deposits less than 100,000 euros will be protected under the Cyprus deposit guarantee.

The project has some big money and some big science to build on. “Even advocates of the bill admit that there is no need for the bill today as every health insurer in the state of Washington provides for abortion coverage,” said Becker in a written statement. “As such, the decision of the committee is that the bill will not move forward from here this year.”

The hearing attracted more than 250 people from both sides of the abortion issue, with many of those wearing rival buttons and ribbons and dressed in dueling color schemes left to watch the proceedings on a screen in a nearby room.

Opponents countered that abortion insurance coverage is already widespread in the state and that the bill is unnecessary. They also said the measure threatens the religious freedoms of businesses and individuals who oppose abortion rights and do not want to subsidize the cost of the procedure for others.

“You all have the second amendment right to bear arms, to own a gun,” said Peggy O’Ban, spokeswoman for Human Life of Washington. “But does that mean I have to buy it for you?”

I’m sure by now many of you have heard that the government has sent out a questionnaire to doctors to be asked of their patients…yesterday I went for my quarterly visit and I am livid!

 

There are around 25; could be more, questions ranging from “did you have a flu shot….mammogram …colonoscopy…what is your BMI?

I declined.

 

My doctor told me that since I declined the government (it sounded like MS) would call me…I said I don’t answer to unknown numbers…she said they’ll send me a letter…Imagine!

 

If I don’t answer or decline to answer the questionnaire doctors could lose their ratings…

 

She said the government said she should get her patients to have these tests or she isn’t a good doctor…

 

SNITCHING…does anyone remember stories about Hitler?  Snitching on each other…

 

O wait…Obama had a “fishing” expedition.  Seems as if he was preparing us for this for years.

 

In the conversation she again expressed leaving her profession, moving back to the country she was born to practice, or even becoming a Realtor, what she may do is get rid of the government by taking only cash patients…imagine, anything but being coerced into treating her patients the way the government wants…

 

My doctor and I spent most all the time talking about this outrage, which she seems to be having this conversation with many of her patients and again she talked about leaving her profession and it wasn’t all about money; it was the government dictating to her how to practice. She said that she was approached to leave her practice and go into the hospital which she declined… saying to me that she’d have to follow the government guidelines.

 

Sounds like doctors are being coerced.

 

Speaking of guidelines, do you know that on the news they discussed the government is giving hospitals rewards of money to keep cost down on patients…WHAT?

 

Already clinics are not treating cancer patients.  Their Hippocratic Oath is disappearing.

 

Here is what I am asking of everyone here:

 

TO DO, and RESOLVE something post.

 

If we can spread this throughout the country perhaps we can stop this interrogation.

 

WE HAVE RIGHT TO CHOOSE…

 

This reminds me of the last census form where as the government added things like how many toilets do you have……WHAT? A census is to find out how many people there are in a household…PERIOD.

 

I answered just that one question…and that was legal.

What Price Freedom? – Or Our New Leviathan

A dark cloud of fascism surrounded the Beacon of Freedom on November 6th, as America’s ill-informed and ignorant electorate rejected the ideas of personal responsibility and fierce independence exhibited by the early pioneer as he or she rose each morning and asked for nothing more than one more day to work towards success and gave thanks to God for seeing that morning’s sun. By reelecting Obama, these neo-fascists have gladly embraced mindless open borders, the Welfare State, global warming/”green energy”, appeasement and surrender as a foreign policy, and $20 trillion plus deficits. They have sold their Freedom for “free” contraceptives and an Affordable Health Care Act that inflates the cost more than if they had bought their own private insurance policies, and in the bargain they have ensured the enslavement of their children and their children’s children to the Leviathan and those Statists who control it!

The job lay-offs and company cutbacks and closures (Walmart, Applebee’s, Krogers) have already begun in anticipation of the AHA becoming entrenched in U.S. law, especially since many small businesses are close to the 50 employee mark that forces them under its regulation, as it takes over an entire industry. Americans must not let their opposition to Obamacare wane, because its positive effects are few and its freedom killing regulations, such as imprisonment for anyone refusing to “buy” it, are vast and devastating both to the individual and the nation.

Obama’s “mandate” is a fiction. He only won by two million votes, and he received nine million fewer this time than in 2008. The Republicans retained control of the House of Representatives with a 233-201 margin; and yet, Obama is proceeding with his theme that “the wealthy need to pay their fair share”, as he prepares to raise taxes on all Americans by allowing the Bush tax rates to expire. He has suggested raising taxes on everyone making $250,000 or more and a return to the higher tax levels of the Clinton era.

Obama supporters echo his theme, even though the top 15% earners in the U.S. already pay 90% of the taxes. Steny Hoyer, the number two Democrat from Maryland, suggests that working families should not have to bear the burden of deficit reduction. Mary Kay Henry, Pres of SEIU, wrote in a letter to the ‘Tennessee-Tribune’: “We need a country where the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share. We need good jobs, we need to need to protect the vital services that millions of Americans rely on and we need to provide a pathway to citizenship for immigrants”, signed with the American Communist Party slogan “In Solidarity”!

Steny Hoyer and others who voted for Obama are not only morally bankrupt, but they are economics illiterate. They do not understand… or even want to understand… that most of America’s jobs are found in small businesses. They do not understand that more taxes on the wealthy tend to place brakes on new business, business expansions and the jobs that are created, thus burdening families further once the lay-offs start; fewer regulations and taxes have historically enabled and created a stimulated and vibrant national economy.

Mary Henry must not realize that current U.S. law already provides a path to citizenship for immigrants, but of course, she really meant illegal aliens, who all the Far Left liberals think souls be given amnesty, which did not work in 1986 and will not solve the situation now; legal Hispanic immigrants, who filed their paperwork and paid the fees, don’t like the fact that the illegals claim their “right” to be here, expect to go to the head of the line and essentially be rewarded for their criminal behavior. However, Heather McDonald (Manhattan Institute) uses statistics to illustrate that, by and large, Hispanics did not vote for Obama due to his immigration stance, but rather they voted for him due to their own propensity towards large centralized government.

America had the chance to elect a potentially good President, Mitt Romney, who would have made the nation energy independent, but they stuck with the Fascist, who is once again preparing to tax carbon emissions by the metric ton and is positioned to close 200-400 coal plants by 2014; just this week a coal plant in Utah laid off 160 workers. So, when gas prices keep rising and people can barely pay their electric bills (projected to soon increase by 30%), Americans need only to look in the damned mirror, because they created the situation by reelecting the most radical President in American history!

While Speaker of the House John Boehner has not been specific on what goals he might set for raising new federal tax dollars, his lack of spine is apparent, as he makes conciliatory noises and once again kisses their President’s backside by suggesting that compromise on the debt ceiling and tax rate is possible. Boehner did, however, recently attempt to sound tough, as he stated that he supported continuing President Bush’s tax rates for all income levels.

Now that the debt ceiling “crisis”, automatic tax hikes and spending cuts set to occur at the end of the year have set the stage for going over the “fiscal cliff,” Obama speaks of reaching across the aisle in the spirit of compromise; however, he has shown himself in his first term as an intransigent, secretive pathological LIAR…and now we’re supposed to take him at his word and join him? Not just “No”, but “Hell No!” No deals should be cut with Obama…Let the Democrats be the ones to shut the government down if they will!

Obama’s and Harry Reid’s annual $1.5 trillion deficits have done their damage, and our economy may collapse no matter what saving steps are taken. Obama could take every penny from all of our millionaires and billionaires and still not make a dent in the nation’s debt. The only chance we can give America is to 1) cut government bureaucracies 2) halt deficit spending 3) limit all spending 4) keep the current tax rates; an economic and financial collapse knows no party or race, and you on the Left are damaging the nation and everyone’s future!

Obama, the Divider, and his neo-fascist supporters declare that Americans do not have the right and duty to preserve the society that so many fought and bled for centuries to build; their Utopian lust for a multicultural and transnational society is certain to destroy America if they aren’t stopped, because no nation can survive long if its immigrants are not integrating into the culture and learning the common language or if its borders are not secured and its laws enforced. Obama has pitted women against the Church, unions against Wall Street and local governments, the poor against the rich, homosexuals (3% of the pop.) against the Church and the military (military cadre are retiring in droves due to the military’s “gay marriage” acceptance) and race against race on many issues. His Marxist call for “social justice” is a farce, and his policies make American life insecure and unsafe, as he also ignores the Constitution, loots the U.S. Treasury, downgrades our Armed Forces and consolidates power.

There are those in America who have chosen tyranny over Liberty, but we must resist, obstruct and sabotage Obama’s and the Democrats’ anti-American agendas at every turn in order to save our nation, because redistribution of the wealth is not a legitimate function of the government. The sober and resolute citizens can stop this out of control government…we can stop the liberal whores who bow at the altar of government servitude; we will not negotiate the terms of our economic and political servitude, or abandon our children to a dark and bleak future, or allow Obama to create a new order founded in ideas foreign to our culture historically and an anathema in every way. And, they do not get to dictate to us under Our U.S. Constitution, as we remain defiant in our demise, if it comes to pass. To quote the great Mark Levin, “We’re not good losers, you better believe we’re sore losers! A good loser is a loser forever.” With Freedom for All and Our Beloved America’s future at stake, no options exist except for resistance … no surrender!
