Introducing Markell’s Decline of Interest in Israel

Intro © February 21, 2019

I am huge with support for Israel and the Jewish people. You might wonder why (though my Grandmother once told me I had a Jewish ancestry – I was an uncaring teen at the time and discussion is a bit sketchy in my memory). The reason is God’s Word hasn’t changed and God Almighty has designated the descendants of Abraham, Isaac (not Ismael) and Jacob as the Chosen People for the Land of Promise. That Land is known today as Israel. In Jesus Redemption is to the Jew first then the Gentile. I’m a believer in the mystery of prophetic double fulfillment. In simple terms that means an event prophesied in the Bible may appear to have taken place but a fuller event is still to come (the more secularist a Christian the less likely to believe in double fulfillment prophecy or Dual Prophecy): Modern Israel coming into existence and a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty are signs (many view Jesus speaking fig tree as symbolism of Israel – Matthew 24:32-33) of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Yup, that makes me an authentic Christian Zionist. Bless Israel and you’ll be blessed. As a nation, this is one reason of the importance of America (and Americans for that matter) to be a blessing to Israel.

With my thoughts in mind, Jan Markell’s article below about Christian Pastors failing to talk and/or teach the importance of Israel is indeed a “Disturbing Trend”.

A Disturbing Trend: Does Anybody Care?

Interest in Israel is waning. Does anybody care?

In recent weeks, several publications have put out alarming stories that evangelical support for Israel is sinking — and especially among young people. The periodicals state that a new survey reveals that there is confusion about, or indifference to, the world’s only Jewish state.

It is really a two-pronged phenomenon. There is a decline in the interest in end-times (eschatology) and a decline in interest and support for God’s Covenant land and people by those who identify as a part of the today’s church.

The Christian Post states, “Seventy-seven percent of evangelicals, ages 65 and older, say they support the existence, security and prosperity of Israel, according to a Life Way Research survey. But only 58 percent of evangelicals ages 18 to 34 say the same.”

The various articles indicate that young people are focused on social justice now. There is a perception that the Palestinians are “downtrodden, persecuted, and mistreated,” and therefore, sympathy is towards them. Israel is the “occupier.”

Adding to the survey were Joel Rosenberg and Chosen People Ministries. Rosenberg stated, “Unless the church gives younger believers a healthy, balanced, solidly biblical understanding of God’s love and plan for Israel, overall evangelical support for the Jewish state could very well plummet over the next decade as Millennials represent an ever-larger percentage of the overall church body.”

So who or what is to blame? May I suggest some of the following?

Pastors rarely teach or preach on the topic and thus it is not deemed as relevant. How can young people understand an issue if it is ignored?

  • Dispensationalism is in decline. This theology emphasizes the important and distinct roles of both Israel and the Church.

  • Replacing Dispensationalism are the troubling theologies known as Kingdom Now or Dominionism, Amillennialism, Replacement Theology, Christian Palestinianism, Preterism, and more. None of these will give Israel her proper biblical or end-time role. The emphasis will be on the church.

  • Many popular teachers and leaders mislead on issues relating to Israel and eschatology. Some of these include Dr. John Piper, Lynne Hybels, Hank Hanegraaff, Russell Moore, Rick Warren, Rick Wiles, Jim Wallis, Tony Campolo, Shane Claiborne, Brian MacLaren, and most postmodern and Emergent teachers. Men like Andy Stanley tell people to “unhitch from the Old Testament.” How’s that for de-emphasizing Israel’s role?? Most of the Word of Faith/prosperity teachers and almost all of the New Apostolic Reformation promote Kingdom Now/Dominionism which does not teach Israel’s rightful role in the future. Again, these theologies place more emphasis on the church.

  • The destructive “Boycott, Divest, Sanction” (BDS) movement has infected all of the Mainline Protestants. They want to strangle Israel’s economy and thus “crush the occupation.” The entire World Council of Churches has signed onto BDS.

Lynne Hybels at Christ at the Checkpoint

Events like “Christ at the Checkpoint” have painted Israel as the Mideast villain and bully rather than the one free society in that region. Prominent evangelicals and social justice promoters such as Lynne Hybels speak at this event.  So do Tony Campolo, Gary Burge, Jim Wallis, Hank Hanegraaff, Shane Claiborne, and others who attract younger followers.

  • Periodicals for young people such as Relevant Magazine have turned into anti-Israel propaganda.

Relevant Mag cover

  • Youth events such as the Catalyst Conference and the Justice Conference regularly feature anti-Israel speakers, Palestinians, and speakers with off-base eschatology. Marxist Cornell West is a regular at the Justice Conference. These are targeting evangelical youth. Lynne Hybels has made the youth conference circuit, even bashing Israel’s wall of protection that has reduced Palestinian terrorism over 90%.

  • Social justice is no longer just an issue for the religious Left. If you visit the website of the National Association of Evangelicals, you will find 65 articles about social justice! Type that into their search engine.

  • Anti-Israel films like “Little Town of Bethlehem” was shown at 360 venues in 2010 including dozens of college campuses. Again, it beat the mantra of the Israeli “occupation” and focused on the Israeli soldiers who enforce it.

Christianity Today says that at best, young evangelicals are “indifferent about Israel.” With such a non-stop barrage of anti-Israel propaganda, how can young minds sort through fiction to find the facts?

The Israeli newspaper Ha-aretz is running an article that states that young evangelicals don’t have the automatic support for Israel that their parents had. This is a generation that is suspicious of anything that is presented without explanation. They don’t want to be political pawns. They don’t adopt automatic views and positions. In order to connect them to Israel, we need to make a case for why they should support it. Future U.S. policy towards Israel is at stake!

All of this is happening as new and young members of the U.S. Congress, including one radical Muslim from Minnesota — Rep. Ilhan Omar — are taking a strong anti-Israel stand. Their anti-Semitism is not even subtle. How many younger people will Rep. Omar, Rep. Tlaib, and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez influence in the wrong direction?

While people, both young and old, can be disloyal and change sides, “He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.” (Psalm 121) God’s love and protection will never waiver for His covenant land and people.

How odd of God,

To choose the Jews;

But not as odd, as those who choose,

The Jewish God, but spurn the Jews.

Awaiting His return,

Jan Markell

My Christian Zionism Relating to Jerusalem U.S. Embassy

John R. Houk

© May 17, 2018

I am a Christian Zionist. This means my reflections on the Jewish State of Israel might be a bit controversial definitely to the American Left and to a few Conservative Americans. Essentially the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews by Promise from God Almighty Himself. You can probably guess as well, I am no friend of the Arabs that claim to be the made-up people known as Palestinians.

The Christian side of my Zionism probably is a bit of a turn-off to many observant Jews; viz., the re-establishment of the nation of Israel is an indicative sign the that Savior of humankind – Jesus the Messiah – is returning soon to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. On the other hand, I am not an overt fan in demanding Jews accept Jesus as their Savior.

This demand has been a blight on Christians through history. As Gentiles became the prominent population of the Christian make up, Antisemitism reared its ugly head against Jews with false accusations of Christ-killer. Remember ALL of the 12 Apostles and the initial Christians were ALL Jewish!

The Apostle Paul – born Jewish Saul of Tarsus – became a Christian after ending his Pharisaic Temple-ruler edict to persecute Christians. Jesus Himself appeared to Paul traveling the Damascus road to persecute Christians. Paul Believed in Jesus became an Apostle of The Way. Paul then became the catalyst to bring the Gospel of Christ to the Non-Jewish Gentiles as instructed by Jesus:

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16: 15 NKJV)

So, why don’t I demand the overt conversion of Jewish people? Observant Jews are steeped in their traditions that probably won’t change without a Road to Damascus moment such as Paul experienced. Thus, at Christ’s return at the Second Coming, Jews will have their Road to Damascus moment. Until that day, I am fully supportive of Jews practicing Judaism and all their traditions (which ironically point to a future Messiah and many Christians believe are a type of the Christ [See Also: HERE, HERE &. HERE]).

Originally, I intended this as an intro to an Ari Bussel submission. However, the more I began writing the more I realized I was writing my thoughts on Christian Zionism. Ari’s submission essentially writes about President Trump’s decision to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capital city Jerusalem is a God blesses those who bless Israel moment. As a Christian Zionist, I 100% concur with Ari Bussel.

The God of Israel Rewards Those Who Come to Take Refuge under His Wings

By Ari Bussel

Sent 5/14/2018 5:39 PM

Dear Friends,

Yitz Dekel from Los Angeles writes:  “As an 11 years old boy in Haifa, I clearly remember the turbulent and riveting days of May 14 and May 15, 1948…”

It was today, exactly 70 years ago, that the world witnessed the rebirth of an ancient nation in its Biblical and historical homeland, the nation of Israel in the Land of Israel.

Today, as the US moved its embassy to Jerusalem, Israelis and Jews the world over expressed their joy in one simple, unifying manner.

We said a blessing, thanking God the Almighty, Lord of the Universe

who has granted us life and sustained us

who has brought us to this very moment,

enabling us to reach this occasion

(The Blessing of Shehecheyanu)

ברכת שהחיינו

ברוך אתה ה׳

אלוהינו מלך העולם

שהחיינו

וקיימנו

והגיענו

לזמן הזה

[Blog Editor: Google Translate of above Hebrew Shehecheyanu blessing:

Shehecheyanu blessing

bless you God’

Our God is King of the Universe

Shehecheyanu

And we have

And we arrived

For this time]

Unlike an Orthodox (religious) Jew, for a secular Israeli, reciting this blessing is not something we do often, easily or without thought.  It is thus all the more extraordinary that from the President to the Prime Minister of Israel, to every Israeli and Jew wherever one is, we said the same thing, with the utmost sincerity and meaning – for having reached this time and place!

As I sent out the text of the Prime Minister’s speech, our Christian friends replied immediately with greetings.  They were excited too, or maybe it was our joy that permeated and saturated the entire surface.  We were reinforcing each other, delighted and jubilant.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center here in Los Angeles writes:

Enter Donald Trump. With the stroke of a pen, he validated 3,500 years of Jewish history by opening the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, debunking the global smear campaign against the Jewish State.

His decision will also have an impact on Christian-Jewish relations. My grandparents fled Eastern Europe at the beginning of the 20th Century primarily because of theologically-fueled hatred from Christian churches and clergy.

They would have been shocked to see the hundreds of Christian Zionists who sat shoulder to shoulder with American and Israeli Jews at the embassy opening on Monday. And they would have been amazed to learn it was American Christians, led by a few million Evangelicals, who consistently reminded President Trump about candidate Trump’s promise to do right by Israel.

For us, the Jewish people, it is amazing to see Christians standing with us; side by side, often leading.  As it is says in Psalms:

Psalms Chapter 133 תְּהִלִּים

א  שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת, לְדָוִד:
הִנֵּה מַה-טּוֹב, וּמַה-נָּעִים–    שֶׁבֶת

אַחִים גַּם-יָחַד.

1 A Song of Ascents; of David. {N}
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

++++++

Like our Christian friends the world over, minorities in Israel celebrate too, with equal dosages of excitement.  They know that it is in Israel and nowhere else where they can live freely and securely, as equal citizens in a Jewish country.  In the only Jewish country in the world, they can worship as they wish.  So it was in Biblical times; so it is in modern era in the 21st Century.

An Israeli Druze whom I am honored to call a friend, Riad Hasson, writes:

This day in Jerusalem was most thrilling.  Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel and the Jewish people for all its generations.  We, the Israeli Druze, are proud of the decision and the execution (of moving the US embassy to Jerusalem)!!  Jerusalem – the City of King David – is suitable and warrants glory and honor, appropriate for the City of the Forefathers and the City toward which the eyes of the entire world turn.   I love your Jerusalem.  We all love you Jerusalem!

My dear friend Mendi Safadi, also an Israeli Druze, was in Jerusalem the entire day celebrating.  Here are some pictures he took – join, as if we are all there!  As I was forwarding the video clips he took, people thought I am in Zion Jerusalem.  “No,” I replied, “I am in the City of Angels, saluting the City of God.”

(Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

[Blog Editor: Ari included many photos of the U.S. Embassy event in Jerusalem. Below are only a few hand-picked stunning photos. I feel confident if you want the entire photo array, ask Ari Bussel to send them to you – bussel@me.com]

The power and energy emanate from Zion Jerusalem, like an immense beam of light, and the entire world turns its head toward the City on the Hills, as foretold by the Prophet Isaiah:

Isaiah Chapter 2

2 And it shall come to pass in the end of days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established as the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3 And many peoples shall go and say: ‘Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths.’ For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

However, it is not the Prophet Isaiah’s words that are applicable today.  Instead, as we are in the City of David, the redheaded, good-looking David, who was skillful in playing and a mighty man of valor, a man of war and prudent in affairs and a comely person (1 Samuel 16:18).  David son of Yishai, grandson of Oved, great-grandson of Ruth of Moab.

Ruth was not Jewish, and yet she is the great-grandmother of King David, whose city we celebrate today and every day.  Jerusalem was once the home of the Temple, today it is the capital of Israel.  It is the same King David from whose lineage Jews and Christian alike believe that the Messiah will come.

Ruth wonders too, for she is “a foreigner” and yet treated equally or even better than the locals.  Such in ancient times; so at present times.  And so we are told the reason:  for “you left your father and your mother and your homeland, and you went to a nation you did not know previously.”  Ruth came to “take refuge under the wings of the Lord, God of Israel,” and so this act of hers is forever recognized and not forgotten:

Ruth Chapter 2

10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed down to the ground, and said unto him: ‘Why have I found favour in thy sight, that thou shouldest take cognizance of me, seeing I am a foreigner?’

11 And Boaz answered and said unto her: ‘It hath fully been told me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother-in-law since the death of thy husband; and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people that thou knewest not heretofore.

12 The LORD recompense thy work, and be thy reward complete from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to take refuge.’

Ruth lived the way she did not expecting anything in return.  Quite on the contrary, she sacrificed and risked much.  In many ways, we have witnessed many more “Ruths” millennia later during the Holocaust.  These were the Righteous Gentiles.

And so we recall an ancient promise by God the Almighty.  How wonderful we have an opportunity to “open The Book” and refresh our memories.  We will discover there so many wonderfully amazing things.  All foretold; all happening in ancient times and at present times!

Genesis Chapter 12

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’

We have apparently merited reaching this very day and witnessing history in the making.

SHALOM!

Always,

Ari Bussel

Introducing Israel – a Jewish State

US Stand & Bless Israel

A Christian Zionist Perspective

John R. Houk

© June 19, 2016

I am proud to proclaim I am a Christian Zionist. It is my whole hearted belief that the Land of Israel is the God-given land of the Jews. God declared this the land promised to the Twelve Hebrew Tribes named roughly after the sons of Jacob.

Jacob had his name changed in the period of time he was travelling with his wives and (at that time) eleven sons to throw himself on the mercy of his twin brother Esau from whom Jacob stole his birthright by deception. So Jacob was alone and for theological reasons I am not qualified to extemporize got into a wrestling match a “Man”. Note that the “M” is capitalized:

Genesis 32:22-30 NKJV

22 And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. 23 He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had.24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. 25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. 26 And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.”

But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”

27 So He said to him, “What is your name?”

He said, “Jacob.”

28 And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel;[a Literally Prince with God]for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

29 Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.”

And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.

30 So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel:[b Literally Face of God] “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

God Almighty blessed Jacob as the father of a nation that would be named after him – Israel.

It is true that I am a devoted Christian rather than Jewish. That too often means Observant Jews do not trust my Christian motives. This is largely due to Antisemitic persecution conducted by Christians at the behest of Christian rulers and clergy willing to make the Jewish people a vilified scapegoat for Jesus’ death on the Cross. Even it is true to hold all Jews accountable due to the jealous actions of the Sanhedrin leadership of the day, then we should hold all Jews accountable that the Father raised His Son from death to life glorified in the same glory he possessed after emptying Himself of His Divine attributes at His incarnated birth in Mary. Incidentally the “Man” who wrestled with Jacob is thought by many Bible believing Christians to be the pre-incarnated Jesus.

I have shared these introductory thoughts because of an awesome article by Vic Rosenthal that I found at Israpundit which is operated by Ted Belman. The title is the best introduction to the Rosenthal essay: “I am a nationalist, Zionist, tribalist and hawk.”

The thing is while I was reading this essay I began to think the same definitions and details he was applying to himself, could also to me as well. Although I absolutely concur that Israel is for the Jews, the reasoning can apply to my thoughts about the USA. In the case of Zionist – I am a Christian Zionist. Rosenthal applies “tribalism” to protecting the borders of Israel as a Jewish State non-Jews (and Muslim haters of Jews and Israel in particular) and Israel culture is Jewish in faith, history and language. I apply tribalism to protect U.S. borders from immigrants hating the “out of many, one” melting pot that has made America a nation and to protect our culture based on the Christian faith (ALL Denominations), Western heritage and the English language.

Here are ten things I believe:

  • ‘Israel is the Jewish state’ has a concrete meaning: the owners of the land of Israel are the Jewish people, not all its citizens.

  • Arabs who live in Israel should have full civil rights, but they should understand that they are living in someone else’s homeland. It’s natural and correct that the flag, national anthem, primary language and other symbols are those of the Jewish people.

  • It is not a civil right to call for the destruction of the state or the murder of its people.

  • Israel should not welcome non-Jewish migrants.

  • Everyone in Israel should have freedom of religious worship and be able to visit their holy places. But the government of Israel should be sovereign over every inch of the land of Israel, in particular the Temple Mount.

  • Everyone should be able to follow their own religion or lack thereof without coercion. But the official religion of the state of Israel should be Judaism.

  • Israel and the Jewish people have an absolute right to defend themselves.

  • Collective guilt justifies collective punishment.

  • Nobody has the right to try to kill Jews or Israelis, even if their means are ineffective.

  • There should be a death penalty for murderous terrorism.

***

These ten propositions mark me as anti-democratic, even racist and fascist to many, doubtless including the two former Defense Ministers who recently made speeches decrying what they believe is decay in Israel’s collective morality and accusing the Netanyahu government of being responsible for it.

Their judgments would be even harsher if I told them that I understand and identify with the act of Sgt. Elor Azaria, who shot and killed a wounded Arab stabber who (despite Azaria’s legal defense) probably posed no danger to him or others, as well as the idea that no terrorist should survive his attempted act of terrorism.

It wouldn’t help if I admitted that I agree with the decision of Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev to deny government funding to an Arab theater group that produced a play presenting a terrorist murderer in a positive light. Or that I think there needs to be a Basic Law (the Israeli equivalent of a constitutional amendment) that defines and protects the concept of a Jewish state, just as there is one for the idea of a democratic one. Or that I view ‘settlers’ as people with the same rights as any other citizens, including the right to not be kicked out of their homes.

Since the end of the Second World War, ‘enlightened’ people in the West have believed that nationalism was responsible for the horrors of the 20th century, and have created international institutions like the UN and the EU to counteract it. They believe further that tribalism, the belief that one ought to give a higher priority to the welfare of one’s own people than that of others, is racism and should always be condemned in the strongest terms. It is considered an overriding principle of universal morality that one is obligated to treat every other human equally, regardless of their relationship.

These principles are always justified by arguments about human rights and morality, although some cynics suggest that they were encouraged by the psychological warfare department of the Soviet KGB in order to weaken the enemies of the nationalistic and tribalist Russians.

Those who think they set the tone of moral discourse in Israel, like the former defense ministers and 99% of our journalists, writers, artists, lawyers, judges and academics are committed to this universalist morality.

There is nothing inherently more true about the universalist view than the tribalist one. Arguments for one or the other must depend on the expected outcomes. The Western argument against tribalism is that it leads to war and genocide, while universalism produces peace and cooperation.

But exactly the opposite is true in today’s world.

Let’s look at the European Union as an example of a universalist project. Because of its universalist stance toward the outside – liberal rules about granting asylum, for example – and the erasure of border controls inside it, European states are in the process being destroyed by uncontrolled hostile migration. Those that do not adopt a tribalist policy and close their borders will not survive.

This is because universalism is a form of unilateral moral disarmament. It is practical only if everyone practices it. And tribalist Muslims do not. So while the EU may be effective in preventing another war between France and Germany, it can’t protect its member states against subversion by those who spit on its moral principles.

Israel is another example. Surrounded by tribal societies which have been marinating in hate for the Jewish state for decades, it cannot afford to open its borders to Gaza. And it can’t accept the assurances of the PLO that a Palestinian state in highly strategic Judea and Samaria would be a peaceful neighbor.

But not only would it be counter to Israel’s survival to adopt universalist principles, it would violate the conception of a Jewish nation.

This idea of a people connected to a land – even when the land was ruled by others and Jews were a minority in it – has maintained the Jewish people as a nation since biblical times, a history as long or longer as any other distinct people on earth. Nothing is more fundamental to Judaism than the relationship between God, the Jewish people and the land of Israel.

I find it ironic that the same people who insist that “all religions must be respected” and who defend the aspirations of all kinds of ethnic groups – including ‘Palestinians’, who have one of the weakest claims of all to be considered a nation – object so strongly to Jewish nationalism.

I think that if there were to be a referendum today, the great majority of Israelis would agree with the ten propositions above.

Actually, we have such a referendum at least every four years. It is called an election, and I’m confident that the next one will result in a government that is even more nationalist, tribalistic and hawkish than the present one. And that will be a good, moral thing.

Christian Apathy Contributes to Terrorism and Anti-Semitism

A close Internet friend sent me a link to an Earl Cox post in Breaking Israel News. Mr. Cox is described as a broadcaster and journalist that is a friend of the Jewish State of Israel. And from the tenor of the article I perceive he is a Christian Zionist – my kind of guy.

Christian Apathy Contributes to Terrorism and Anti-Semitism

Breaking Israel News

Where are all of the Christians who should be standing for right and against wrong? Where are all of the Christians who should be standing for Israel? G-d Himself in Genesis 12:3 said, “I will bless those who bless you (Israel) and the one who curses you (does not stand) I will curse.”

A basic premise of Christian faith and roots has everything to do with Israel. To ignore Israel is to shun G-d’s word of an eternal covenant with His Chosen People, the Jews, and an eternal covenant cannot be broken. Our silence in our own countries also affects Israel, its land and people. It is imperative that Christians all over the world stand and contend for Israel.

By remaining silent or neutral, Christians are enabling evil everywhere to flourish. Being apathetic is yielding to the preponderance and brutal degree of inhumane suffering caused by those who live outside the Judeo-Christian ethic.

The tenets of good and evil based on Judeo-Christian principles have been our standard, even mainstay, for two thousand years and they have served humanity well so why change them? It would be better to perfect the world based on G-d’s principles than to change them based on the world’s persistence on mixing up right and wrong. Evil and wickedness are the result and terror, it seems, is the means in this postmodern world.

It was during the Holocaust that a Christian minister in Germany observed the changing mindset of the people and the Nazi slaughter of the Jews. He is quoted as saying “silence in the face of evil is itself evil. G-d will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” These are sobering words that loudly ring of truth today.

In this time of resurgent violence against Israeli Jews that is by now recognizably cyclic in intensity but always simmering historically, we Christians absolutely must defend our brothers and sisters in Israel. While some have been active for quite a long time, others who should be active are sadly remaining silent and on the sidelines.

The call to stand up for Israel is true also for Jews in order that they do not have their religion and rights undermined by legal means, media opposition or other hostile opposition. As far as media opposition, the Jews of Israel have a lot to lose if a particular Israeli English speaking leftist paper were to have its way. We already see what hostile opposition looks like. There is currently an apparent legal opposition to Jewish history and sacred sites now by the UN with UNESCO’s declaration of Rachel’s Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs as being Muslim.

We have a biased international body with certain legal abilities to change history and likely alter visitation rights to holy sites sacred to both Christians and Jews. The modern rewriting of the history of the Temple Mount by Muslims is well known. Injustice to Jewish history must be opposed on all fronts.

It is essential for Christians and Jews to work together. We must take our Judeo-Christian principles to the courts in each of our countries, to the world courts and to university campuses. We must teach and uphold our G-d given Judeo-Christian principles and make certain the facts on the ground are accurately taught (and reported) to be sure students are receiving accurate information in their quest for a balanced education.

It will take every ounce of our strength here in America to keep our government aligned in allegiance to the G-d given land of Israel and to the Jewish nation of Israel. What G-d provides, no man has a right to discard or destroy. The commandments and covenants of G-d are forever and when He says they are eternal that is exactly what He means … forever. Standing for Israel is the same as standing for G-d and vice-versa.

It is only in democratic, freedom loving societies mostly in the U.S., Europe and Israel that Christians really are able to take a stand for the faith without punitive retribution. For the moment this is true but the future is uncertain if we remain silent and allow evil to gain ground and triumph.

Let us remember the haunting words of Martin Niemoller (1892-1984), a prominent Protestant pastor who said, “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.”

Yurki1000 posted this on my NCCR about page:

Oneway2day. I appreciate your work. I wish you take an interest of this item and maybe make an article of it. Thank you. God bless you 🙂

> Empowered 21 (E21), a worldwide Christian organization based in Tulsa, OK and the sponsor of a Global Congress in Jerusalem in May 2015, may be endangering its credibility, and the credibility of the Christian faith it seeks to propagate, because of its relationship with Palestinian Christians who promote a fallacious anti-Israel narrative. <

http://www.breakingisraelnews.com/44901/empowered-21-and-christians-who-promote-anti-israel-propaganda-opinion/?utm_source=Breaking+Israel+News&utm_campaign=157ac0fdfa-BIN+Email&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b6d3627f72-157ac0fdfa-86566921#M8bLtTVVpq0lklVh.97

When I first read this request I suspected Yurki was asking me to examine another string of the Agenda 21 Conspiracy Theory relating to Progressive (I usually use the term “Leftist”) Christian theological ideology which usually cherry-picks God’s Word elevating select Scriptures that concur with Humanism as relevant and discarding all Scripture that runs counter to Humanist Social Justice and Left Wing utopianism.

As I read the article I soon realized the article by Tricia Miller had nothing to do with Agenda 21. Rather “Empowered 21” is an organization promoting global connectedness that Miller quotes as “Spirit-empowered movement”. Miller accuses this Holy Spirit global movement as a group of Evangelicals and Pentecostals getting together hooking up with Christians who align with the Arabs that call themselves Palestinians but are Christian rather than Muslim. The problem with such a hook-up is that Palestinian Christians (as are many Arab Christian sects throughout the Middle East) are Antisemitic Jew-Haters and Israel-Haters. Combine this hatred of Jews with the Palestinian Christian growing view of Replacement Theology and Palestinian Liberation Theology (and yet another pseudo-Marxist strain of Liberation Theology and Black Liberation Theology).

Replacement Theology believes that Christianity replaces Jews as the Chosen People and Palestinian Liberation Theology (PLT) is the Leftist ideology involving warped thoughts on Social Justice. Christian thoughts must be centered on God’s Justice which is largely met in Grace by Faith in the Blood of the Risen Savior Jesus Christ. If Social Justice deviates from the path of God’s Justice and the cleansing of the Blood by Grace then that Social Justice is null and void.

Replacement Theology is unscriptural. Social Justice that is contrary to God’s Word is plain and simple – UNGODLY.

If Ms. Miller’s analysis is correct then you as a Biblical Christian (may God have mercy if you are not) should be VERY ALARMED. Regardless on your Christian take that Jews need Jesus now to be Saved or Jews will awaken to understand that Jesus is their Messiah and not dead at His return, KNOW that Jews are still and always will be God’s Chosen People.

The Apostle Paul – the Apostle to the Gentiles (non-Jews) – was Jewish by birth of the tribe of Benjamin, says this in Romans chapter 11:

I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, 3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”?[a]4 But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”[b]5 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.[c] But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 Just as it is written:

“God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
To this very day.”[d]

9 And David says:

“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
A stumbling block and a recompense to them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,
And bow down their back always.”[e]

11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. 12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. 15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.”20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness,[f] if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”[h]

28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. (Romans 11: 1-32 NKJV)

Now I realize that when this epistle was penned by Paul or a secretary for his day and that Romans was not divided by chapter and verse. So whoever did the dividing made sure that nearly the entire eleventh chapter is devoted by the Apostle to the Gentiles to the Promise the Jews are still the people of Promise made to Abraham. AND that Christians have not replaced the Jews but have been engrafted as a wild branch into the natural root. AND though the branches of the natural may be experiencing a pruning effect, at least a remnant of the natural branches will be re-engrafted into the natural root. AND if the graphed wild branches ever walk in disobedience they too will experience pruning. AND Christians abandoning or cherry-picking God’s Word are opening themselves to a pruning. AND worst of all – throwing Jews and especially the Jews residing in the Land of Israel – under the bus for Left Wing political expediency will lead to a curse and NOT a blessing.

The Short Version of Blessing and Cursing

12 Now the Lord had said to Abram:

“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

6 Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, as far as the terebinth tree of Moreh.[a] And the Canaanites were then in the land.

7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

17 19 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.” (Genesis 12: 1-3, 6-7; 17: 19-21 NKJV)

For an exact and graphic picture of blessing and cursing and their results I encourage you to read Zechariah chapters 12 – 14. From a Christian perspective those chapters establish the Jews as God’s chosen and Jesus the Messiah as the King of kings right on through His millennial reign. I know next to nothing Judaic theology so I can’t speak to the Jewish belief of those chapters of Zechariah. However, any Christian who has read their Bible only a little bit would recognize Jesus Christ as the Person written of in Zechariah.

Any kind of Replacement Theology proclaiming the Christian Church is simply erroneous.

Tricia Miller’s article I referred to in the beginning of these thoughts, “Empowered 21 and Christians Who Promote Anti-Israel Propaganda,” is something I found quite disturbing. Usually Evangelical Christians and Christians associated with either/or Pentecostalism-Charismatic beliefs have been among the staunchest supporters of Israel. Miller’s article singles out Christian organization that crosses all three slants of the Christian faith; viz. Evangelical, Pentecostal and Charismatic. The organization is called Empowered 21 and bills itself as a part of the Oral Roberts University (ORU) umbrella. I suspect largely to the death of ORU’s founder Oral Roberts and some financial mismanagement of Brother Oral’s son Richard Roberts (Richard Roberts’ self-defense on local news video), the Roberts family has largely been shut out of the family legacy of ORU. Perhaps the relatively new ORU Board of Directors have embraced Palestine Liberation Theology (PLT) over the Biblical stipulations of God’s Promise to the Jews or they are just plain ignorant that the legacy of Middle Eastern Christianity (which includes Arabs that call themselves Palestinian) has been and still largely is Antisemitic.

If the ORU support (either direct or backdoor) of PLT Christians exists I’d like to believe is due to a plausible excitement that Arab Christians have discovered that the Holy Spirit is as active now as it has been since the original Disciples in the Upper Room first experienced Holy Spirit Baptism as in tongues of fire lit up their God enthused connection between their human spirit and the Holy Spirit of God Almighty. Unfortunately the more I read I have come to the sense that the ORU Board and the powers that be at Empowered21 are on board with the Antisemitic Replacement Theology of the PLT Christians.

Another of America’s leading Christian schools, Oral Roberts University (ORU), has deep conservative Christian roots. Oral Roberts himself was a Pentecostal televangelist and a strong friend of Israel. Some of the leading preachers in America graduated from ORU, and its board of trustees has included pro-Israel Christians such as pastors John Hagee and Kenneth Copeland and Bishop Keith Butler.

But things may be changing at ORU. The current chair of ORU’s board of trustees is the aforementioned Mart Green. He is reported to have “saved” ORU with a $70 million cash infusion. In January 2013, ORU’s board of trustees elected Billy Wilson as the university’s new president; a few months later, Wilson was named as a speaker for 2014 at the leading anti-Israel Christian conference, “Christ at the Checkpoint.” (The End of Evangelical Support for Israel? The Jewish State’s International Standing; By David Brog; Middle East Quarterly; SPRING 2014 • VOLUME 21: NUMBER 2)

And more on ORU, ORU President – Billy Wilson, Empowered21 and Naim Ateek:

In what is being dubbed an “unprecedented advisory,” Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning to Christians to steer clear of the “Christ at the Checkpoint” [CATC] conference that took place from March 8th-15th in Bethlehem, and coincided with Israel Apartheid week there. Israel Today, a publication that investigated the conference, concluded that it could pose “a long term threat to Israel’s security.” According to the official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

“The attempt to use religious motifs in order to mobilize political propaganda and agitate the feelings of the faithful through the manipulation of religion and politics is an unacceptable and shameful act. Using religion for the purpose of incitement in the service of political interests stains the person who does it with a stain of indelible infamy.”

A ministry official stated that, “the conference is designed for the evangelical Christian leadership [sic – same word twice] leadership — an extremely important audience to us.” Christians around the world should pay close attention to the Israeli government’s concern about the dangerous propaganda being fanned and fueled at “Christ at the Checkpoint.” …

Looking further into the agenda of this event, the Jewish National News Service pointed out that “Christ at the Checkpoint” emphasizes replacement theology, which teaches that the Christian Church has replaced Israel and the Jewish people in God’s purpose and plan so that the Jews are no longer God’s “chosen people,” and that Christians have replaced them. This is a source of division in the Churches and a stance many Christians resolutely oppose.

Bethlehem Anglican Canon Rev. Naim Ateek, president of the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center, spoke at the inaugural CATC in 2010; he is one of the first church leaders to connect Liberation Theology with the Palestinian cause. … Ateek stated in an Easter message he once delivered: “In this season of Lent, it seems to [sic] many of us that Jesus is on the cross again with thousands of crucified Palestinians around him. It only takes people of insight to see the hundreds of thousands of crosses throughout the land, Palestinian men, women, and children being crucified. Palestine has become one huge Golgotha. The Israeli government crucifixion system is operating daily. Palestine has become the place of the skull.”

Executive Director David Brog of Christians United for Israel described the speakers of CATC as the “who’s who of the new anti-Israel narrative…in a guise of love…. who claim to be “pro-Israel, pro-Palestinian, pro-peace.” Just before the conference convened, Brog warned that “almost every speaker will blame Palestinian suffering on Israel and Israel alone.” He calls CATC a “dangerously one-sided propaganda campaign against Israel.”

Bishraw Awad, former president of Bethlehem Bible College opened the CATC with a pledge of Allegiance to Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas: “As evangelicals we pledge our allegiance to Palestinian President Abbas and the Prime Minister.”

… (New Anti-Semitism Tailored for Evangelicals; By Christine Williams; Gatestone Institute; 3/25/15 4:00 am)

The Empowered21 Global Council is an esteemed group of International Christian leaders, co-chaired by George Wood and Billy Wilson. These leaders have met together in Los Angeles, CA in January 2011 and in Orlando, FL in January 2012 to discuss and give oversight to a series of 11 regional Empowered21 leadership teams. These teams are forming across the world to focus on crucial issues faced by the Spirit-empowered church. [Leaders include a list of prominent Ministers and Evangelists that I still have a great admiration for and yet I hold disappointment for being involved in partnering with anti-Israel Christians.] (LEADERSHIP; Empowered21)

There is nothing new about the efforts to drive a wedge between America’s evangelicals and Israel. Many in the anti-Israel camp have been working for years to do exactly that. Anti-Israel Palestinian Christians such as Sami Awad and Naim Ateek have traveled the country telling American Christians how their “brothers and sisters in Christ” are being oppressed by Israel’s Jews. …

The days when one had to travel to Bethlehem to hear such anti-Israel voices are now over. The anti-Israel narrative of “Christ at the Checkpoint” is now being shared at major Christian conferences in the United States including those organized by Empowered21 and Catalyst.

Empowered21, the preeminent gathering of Pentecostal/Charismatic Christians, provides a troubling example of this trend.[8] Its leadership is a who’s who of Pentecostal and Charismatic luminaries from around the world, including many longstanding friends of Israel. However, the leading critic of Israel among these leaders, Mart Green, appears to be playing an outsized role in setting the conference’s agenda: Its 2012 conference in Virginia included a talk by Sami Awad and a screening of Green’s film, Little Town of Bethlehem. [Blog Editor: PLT leanings of Mart Green’s film]

Empowered21 has announced that it will hold its 2015 global congress in Jerusalem. Given the conference’s connections to Sami Awad and Mart Green, there is some skepticism whether the choice of location was intended as a sign of solidarity with the Jewish state. Only time will tell if the organization’s leadership will permit the conference to become a one-sided Israel bashing fest. (The End of Evangelical Support for Israel? The Jewish State’s International Standing; By David Brog; Middle East Quarterly; SPRING 2014 • VOLUME 21: NUMBER 2)

Yeah I know, that’s a lot of excerpts. I was just so astonished to read the who’s who involved in an Anti-Israel/Antisemitic endeavor that promotes an existence of a Palestinian State at the expense of Israel’s Biblically Promised Land! Thus instead of talking about them, I just went to the sources of information. After a few links (some of which are not friendly toward those I still consider very anointed Ministers of the Gospel) that are very uncomplimentary to admirable individuals and yet concurs with spiritually indicting Christians that have wittingly or unwittingly hooked up with PLT ideology; I will then post “Empowered 21 and Christians Who Promote Anti-Israel Propaganda” sent to enlist my thoughts from a frequent commenter on my NCCR blog – Yurki1000.

Empowered 21 and Christians Who Promote Anti-Israel Propaganda

By Tricia Miller

July 9, 2015 12:00 pm

Breaking Israel News

Empowered 21 (E21), a worldwide Christian organization based in Tulsa, OK and the sponsor of a Global Congress in Jerusalem in May 2015, may be endangering its credibility, and the credibility of the Christian faith it seeks to propagate, because of its relationship with Palestinian Christians who promote a fallacious anti-Israel narrative.

This global entity, which intends to “shape the future of the Spirit-empowered movement” and evangelize every person on earth by 2033, claims to represent 640,000,000 evangelical and pentecostal Christians. Therefore, the potential fallout from an alliance with those who spread dishonest propaganda against Israel is significant.

At the recent conference, E21 co-chair Billy Wilson and others repeatedly emphasized the necessity of Christian unity for the purpose of “world evangelization in our generation.” The problem with this call to unity stems from E21’s unreflective support for, and involvement with, Palestinian Christian leaders who promote a narrative rooted in demonization of Jews, delegitimization of Israel, and erroneous theology.

This relationship is demonstrated in part, through the inclusion of Jack Sara, president of Bethlehem Bible College, as one of the leaders in E21’s Global Congress. Sara was scheduled to participate in a breakout session that addressed the subject of networks of ministries and churches. He was also a member of the committee, “Exploring the Land of Pentecost,” which was responsible for educating attendees about places they would tour.

Jack Sara’s participation is particularly troubling because Bethlehem Bible College (BBC) and the Christ at the Checkpoint (CaTC) conferences it sponsors are some of the primary promoters of virulent anti-Jewish/anti-Israel propaganda. The logo for Christ at the Checkpoint depicts a church behind the security barrier built by Israel, and the theme of last year’s meeting was “Theology in the Service of Peace and Justice.”

Through their imagery and content, these conferences present a one-sided narrative that perpetuates the two millennia-old Christian doctrine that Jews are an obstacle to God’s purposes. As a result, Jews are demonized, the Jewish state is delegitimized, and Christians are encouraged to accept the message in the name of peace and justice.

This narrative is rooted in a customized replacement theology and a Palestinian version of liberation theology. Traditional replacement theology says that God no longer has any purpose for Israel or the Jews and that God’s work on earth is now being done through Christians and the Church. This teaching promotes contempt for Jews, and has provided justification for two millennia of anti-Semitic violence.

Palestinian replacement theology rewrites history by claiming that Jesus and the first Christians were all Palestinians, and that the Palestinians – not the Jews – are the indigenous people in the land. This assertion means that the Palestinian people are the rightful owners of the land, which serves their political agenda very nicely by delegitimizing the existence of the Jewish State.

Palestinian liberation theology depicts Palestinians as victims who need to be liberated from Israeli occupation. This narrative is particularly appealing to an evangelical audience susceptible to a message emphasizing the need for peace and justice, but has no understanding of the historical or political context of current events necessary to counter the lies and distortions supported by this theology.

The promotion of, or adherence to, any theology that is customized for the purpose of promoting a political agenda undermines the credibility of historic Christian faith.

Therefore, the perpetuation of 2,000-year-old anti-Jewish canards and erroneous theology by BBC and CaTC is a serious problem. Consequently, it is imperative that the leaders of E21 consider the repercussions of not distancing themselves from this demonizing narrative, even as they express the understandable desire to support their Palestinian brethren.

E21’s collaboration with local Christians was further evidenced through the scheduling of a service in Manger Square in Bethlehem, before it was cancelled with one days (sic) notice due to “significant political and religious pressure,” In response to this unexpected development, E21 co-chair Wilson “spent the afternoon in Manger Square trying to find a way to further support our Christian brothers in there, including considering the possibility of other alternative venues.”

Wilson’s intent to “support our Christian brothers in there” by scheduling a service in Bethlehem, and the involvement of the president of BBC in the leadership of E21 are consistent with the conference’s emphasis on the importance of Christian unity. This would be an ideal goal in an ideal world. However, in this case, E21’s cooperation with Palestinian Christian organizations that have a track record of anti-Israel activism may provide a venue through which their false narrative is promoted to a global audience.

In light of this threat, the leadership of Empowered 21 needs to reconsider how they define their stand in “unity” with those who promote anti-Israel propaganda based on erroneous theology, demonization of Jews, and delegitimization of Israel.

Otherwise, the credibility of this global movement and the Christian faith it seeks to propagate will be compromised, and its intent to “shape the future of the Spirit-empowered movement” will be an issue of great concern.

Not only am I a Christian Right Conservative I also a Christian Zionist. This means I am in the camp that stands with the Promise of God Almighty that the Land Promised to Abraham belongs to the Jews as descendants of Abraham through the descendant line of the Child of Promise – Isaac son of Abraham and Sarah.

Jewish Zionists (What is Zionism?ADL, About Zionism – Zionism-Israel & Zionism As JudaismRobert Wolfe-JewishMag.com) and Christian Zionists (CHRISTIAN ZIONISTS, PAST AND PRESENT – Think-Israel, CHRISTIAN ZIONISM 101 – ICEJ, What motivates Christian Zionists? – Jerusalem Post & Christian Zionism and Islamic Eschatology – John W. Swails III, Ph.D. ORU) are not united in matters of faith BUT the two are united in that Israel is the Land of the Jews promised by God Almighty.

Even among Pro-Israel advocates I am probably a bit controversial in my views. I reason controversy because I believe the borders of Israel should be closer to the Biblical scenario which would enlarge the Jewish State of Israel quite a bit further than the admirers of the fake-Palestinians who side with these Jew-hating Arabs.

In stating briefly my position of support for Israel I was quite gratified to read yesterday that the Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely is advocating those under her charge to use the Torah (Jewish Bible) or as we Christians would call it – the Old Testament as a “reference point for the rights of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.” With that in mind allow me to share some Christian Zionist quotations of the Holy Bible:

Genesis

21 And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had spoken. 2 For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him—whom Sarah bore to him—Isaac.

9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, scoffing. 10 Therefore she said to Abraham, “Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, namely with Isaac.”

12 But God said to Abraham, “Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac your seed shall be called.

Galatians

22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. For these are the[a] two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar—

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. 29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.”[a] 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. (Genesis 21: 1-3, 9-10, 12; Galatians 4: 22-24, 28-31 NKJV)

Israel’s Deputy FM: Focus on Our God-Given Biblical Right to the Land of Israel!

Tzipi Hotovely. Israel Deputy FM

United With Israel

May 22, 2015

In a dramatic foreign policy development, Israel’s Deputy FM instructed Israeli envoys to invoke the Jews’ biblical right to the entire Land of Israel.

Israel’s newly appointed Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely told Israeli diplomats to use the Torah (Jewish bible) as a reference point for the rights of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.

In a video broadcast from Jerusalem, Hotovely addressed Israel’s foreign ministry envoys in over 100 foreign countries.

While the landmark speech was a bit shocking within Israel’s Foreign Ministry, there is strong support from many Israelis who believe that this approach has been long overdue.

“It is important to say that this land is ours, all of it is ours. We didn’t come here to apologize for this,” she said.

Hotovely is a strong proponent of complete Jewish sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, the biblical heartland of Israel.

“The international community deals with considerations of morality and justice. Facing this, we have to return to the basic truth of our right to this land,” Hotovely said.

She quoted the famous Jewish scholar Rashi (Rabbi ShlomoRabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki (Rashi) Yitzchaki, circa 1040 CE) from his famous commentary to the biblical book of Genesis.

In one of Rashi’s most famous pieces, he explained that the bible begins with the creation of the world so that if foreign nations would ever accuse the Jews of stealing the Land of Israel, the Jews would have the following response.

‘Since the entire world belongs to God, only He can choose to whom the Land of Israel will be given. And God chose to give it to the Jewish people’.

Since billions of people around the world believe in the authenticity of the Hebrew bible, including Jews, Christians and Muslims, this approach may be Israel’s most effective tool to claim complete sovereignty in its ancient homeland.

Wondering about Hamas Connection – Ari Bussel Thoughts Following

Negotiation with Hamas like Negotiation with Rabid Dog

John R. Houk

While I was researching my last post – “Stand with Israel against Islamic Terrorists – Hamas” – I ran into a bothersome Google Search Engine situation. I was piecing together a very brief (and definitely not comprehensive) line of events that led Hamas to fire missiles at civilian targets in Israeli cities and the no-choice resulting Israel response of Operation Protective Edge led by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Now this is what I found bothersome: somewhere in this long overdue Gaza invasion to get rid of (or at least cripple) Hamas, Israel does not share the smoking gun data connecting the Islamic terrorists that murdered in cold blood Eyal Yifrah – 19, Gilad Shaar – 16, and Naftali Fraenkel – a 16-year-old with dual Israeli-American citizenship. One has to be a numbskull to believe that the murderers – Arabs that call themselves Palestinians acting as terrorists – had not executed these teen kids.

The problem I am having is this: Did these Islamic Jew-haters work for Hamas, one of the terrorist organization under the PLO umbrella (now Western legitimized as the Palestinian Authority – PA) or did the Jew-haters concoct the murders on their own to gain Palestinian prestige among their family and friends which are constantly brainwashed to hate Jews? So far in my Google Search Engine research I failed to find the absolute linkage to Hamas.

I have no doubt that Google is one of the moron organizations that treat Israel as occupiers of Arab land rather than defenders of the ancient Jewish Homeland bequeathed by God Almighty as the Promised Land. So I would not be surprised if Google techs have programed their search engine for such queries to make Hamas a victim and Israel a perpetrator.

Indeed, as of yesterday the top results of searches pointed to Palestinian apologists, Leftists and incredulously Left thinking Jews that have defined a conspiracy that Prime Minister Netanyahu or the IDF or both concocted a scheme to kidnap three Jews and hold them for a while as an excuse sweep the Hamas organization out of Judea-Samaria (labeled as occupied West Bank by Arabs and the West) and then invade Gaza as an excuse to eradicate Hamas from further executions of terrorist activities against Israel.

I was not surprised a lying fabrication from Palestinian apologists and Leftists because that is what these guys do to persuade sympathy from gullible readers of media reporting. I was incredulous though to see Jewish pundits reputed as either definitely Left Wing and Center-Left that usually are supportive of Israel’s right to exist, BUT are under the delusion that providing undeserved land to Arabs that call themselves Palestinians will bring peace between the Arab world and Israel.

At this point I grew weary of finding the wording that the Google Search engine would deliver in pointing out if the Israeli government had publicly delivered the smoking gun evidence that the Islamic terrorists that murdered the three Jewish teens was specifically Hamas. So I emailed pro-Israel journalist (and a person I consider an online friend) Ari Bussel if he could point me to any specifics.

Ari gave a detailed account of the information he knew. Surprisingly the Israeli government has not made the details public, but Ari reports that Prime Minister Netanyahu made the information available to the relevant Heads of government which I presume includes the USA.

Ari’s email is good enough to post for readers to have something to think about. So this is what I am going to do. I am going to post the email exchange between Ari and I. Ari Bussel emailed a CC of my question and his own response to various others. One of those replies was CC’ed to me and I am also including that. In full disclosure I am editing the exchange to refrain from exposing the email addresses involved. And at this point includes Ari’s email even though he often includes his email address in many of his submissions to my blog.

From John Houk to Ari Bussel

Subject: I have a question

Dear Mr. Bussel,

I am writing because I am having difficulty in pinning down a reliable answer pertaining to the murders of the three teen Israeli boys. Prime Minister Netanyahu says Hamas is responsible for the murders. This accusation is absolutely believable due to the nature of the Hamas Charter to destroy Israel and kill Jews. Unsurprisingly I have come upon numerous Palestinian apologists that claim Netanyahu and the IDF conspired to kill the three teenagers for an excuse to clear Judea-Samaria of Hamas operatives and to attack Gaza. What I am surprised about is that I am reading left leaning Jewish publications and left leaning Jews agree with the Hamas accusation.

So my question is: Has the Prime Minister made good on publicizing the definitive proof that Hamas was responsible for the heinous murders of three Israeli teens? Google isn’t cooperating for me in balanced searches.

Thanks in advance if you are able to respond.

From Ari Bussel to John Houk

Subject: RE I have a question

Dear John,

Allow to start with the following:  I have not seen the evidence, and I sent a request, asking if it is possible to receive detailed information (some may be classified still, given that the two kidnappers are still in hiding and have not been caught and brought to justice yet).

I would also like to add that the details are no longer relevant.  Why?  Because once a lie is told, and then repeated often enough, the seeds of doubt have been planted, and even a later correction, and factual evidence will not repair the damage caused.

A classic case in point may be the Goldstone Report.  Anyone remembers the correction by the Judge himself?  We all remember that the Report “proved” Israel is guilty.  (Guilty of what makes no difference whatsoever, nor do refutations, line by line, fact by fact, of what was contained therein.)

Richard Goldstone, of course, is a Jew.

A person with whom I swim every day at a local Jewish Community Center (that is open to all, not only “Jews” or “Whites”) has confronted me at the very start of the abduction of the three youths, Eyal, Naftali and Gil-Ad, HY”D (may the Lord avenge their deaths), suggesting at first they were in hiding then that the Israeli Security Service (Shin-Bet) is responsible for the abduction of the three from the bus stop that Thursday afternoon.

He further stated they were being held at the cellars of the Shin-Bet somewhere, still alive, but did not rule out we will kill them to put the blame unto others (i.e. the “Palestinians”).

All this while telling me, as I was leaving in disgust, he is saying Psalms for the three boys (a common manner of praying for Jewish people).

I turned around, shocked, and asked:  Why do you bother?

Incidentally, the story changed as the days went by.  The boys were in hiding.  They were taken by Israel.  Etc.  All these horrible things, and yet the (meaningless) “prayer” continued.  My friend does not understand that having such ideas cannot be reconciled with being a Jewish person, one who believes in God the Almighty.

My fellow-swimmer is a professor, specializes in demography, writes regularly and is otherwise both a respected and known member of the Jewish community in Los Angeles.  His opinion, as “off the wall” as it may sound to some, reflects the prevailing thought of many of the Old Guard of the local American Jewry.  He is not an extremist by any measure.  He is intelligent and interesting.  And he is a reflection of our worst enemies from within.

In many ways, their thinking is not much different than that of Turkey’s Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Netanyahu presented evidence of the Hamas connection of the two kidnappers (still at large) to different heads of state around the world.

For many years, Hamas has been promoting the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers and Israeli citizens.  It is a protocol that has worked very well for both Hamas and Hizbollah.  It was in the summer of 2006 that Hizbollah went over the border to Israel proper, attacked an IDF patrol and kidnapped Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, HY”D.

[Blog Editor: I plead a learning moment. I had no idea of the meaning for ‘HY”D’. Here is the explanation for the non-Jews who love Israel:

May Hashem avenge his/her blood

This honorific “May Hashem avenge his/her blood” is used for a non-rabbinic general individual who perished as a result of anti-semitism, for example pogroms or the Holocaust. The Hebrew version is “Hashem yinkom damo” (m.) / “Hashem yinkom dama” (f.) and in the Hebrew: (f.) “ינקום דמה” \ (m.) “השם ינקום דמו.” The English abbreviation is “HY”D” and in Hebrew “הי״ד.”

Hashem

(Judaism) a periphrastic way of referring to God in contexts other than prayer, scriptural reading etc. because the name itself is considered too holy for such use]

That prompted what would later be called “The Second War in Lebanon.”  Israel received their body parts back in exchange to more than 200 terrorists.

Not two weeks later, Hamas, promoting the very same tactic publicly and following exactly the same manner as Hizbollah, went into Israel (via a tunnel), attacked an army base and kidnapped an Israeli soldier.

That soldier was kept in a high rise building in Gaza for five years and was exchanged for more than a thousand terrorists, many who were convicted in a court of law for multiple life sentences.

There were other failed attempts to kidnap Israelis.  Until last month, when three Israeli boys, standing at a bus stop on their way home for the weekend, disappeared.  It took Israel several long hours until the process known as Hannibal Directive/Procedure [Wikipedia] was launched.  By that time, it was too late.

Was that a red line?  Kids being kidnapped?

Some excused it by saying they are “religious fanatics.”  Other said they are “Settlers” and should not even have been there (“there” is Judea and Samaria).  Easier to blame ourselves apparently for the sickness of our enemies.

The following day, the identity of the two kidnappers was made public by Israel and the necessary evidence was presented by PM Netanyahu to his counterparts among world leaders.

For eighteen days Israel, the Jewish People and people who believe in the Bible were praying to the Almighty for the safe return of the three boys.  The IDF and Israeli security services were on a search and rescue mission, leaving no stone and bush unturned.

On the eighteenth day, the bodies of 16 year olds Gil-Ad and Naftali and 19 year old Eyal were discovered.

Their only sin:  Being Jewish in the Jewish Homeland.

(Well, that is a double sin.)

Celebrations erupted throughout the “Palestinian” cities and towns.

After all, the mother of one of the three kidnappers had stated before she raised her kids on the Quran and the Prophet, then she added, that if it turned out her son did kidnap (and/or murder) the Jews, he will be blessed and she could not be happier.  (Incidentally, she will receive money for the rest of her life as a result of the atrocity committed by her son.)

Theirs is a culture of death.  They glorify murder.  Thus, it is not surprising they name kindergartens, school yards, soccer fields, city squares and public institutions after such murderers.

The discovery was followed by a very somber day of mourning in Israel, and the three were brought to their final resting place.

Israel stood in shock.

Sane and reasonable people everywhere were silenced at the horror of what took place.

Israelis stood in unity, for we are all commanded DO NOT MURDER.

It was at the same time that three Israelis did exactly that, violating the very commandment of the ten that guide our lives.

The difference could not be clearer.  They were apprehended and immediately brought to justice.  They likely will not be allowed back among civilized society for the rest of their lives (for Israel does not have a death penalty).

We abhor and will do everything against anyone who finds murder a reasonable and necessary course of action.  Revenge is not an excuse to capture a 16 year old and set him on fire while he is still alive.

And that is exactly the difference between Israel and her enemies.

I now return to the question you posed, albeit from a slightly larger context.

Tell a lie often enough, and one starts believing in it.

Our greatest enemy is confusion, and see how easy it is to plant the seeds of doubt:

Maybe the Israelis kidnapped the three boys?

The Israelis will stop at nothing, as long as it serves their purpose.

The greater good – the ability to subjugate the local population to invasion, torture, persecution, etc. – is justified.  Sacrificing three boys is a very small price to pay.

Israeli Settlers are extremist ideologists.  They will follow the dictum of the Torah to sacrifice their own sons!

All that Israel wanted is an excuse to invade Gaza.

Israel is no different from the Nazis!

I must admit, it is very difficult to fight when surrounded with absolute darkness.

Nothing makes sense.

Israel does not need ruses or excuses.  All that Israel tries to do is live peacefully in the only Jewish country in the world, its Biblical and eternal homeland.  We are not raised to hate Arabs because they are Muslim.  We want to live in peace with our neighbors.  In fact, our Torah directs us time and time again to remember we were a foreign people in Egypt, thus, we must treat the foreigner, widowed and orphaned among us with extreme care.

Israel does not kidnap and torture its own citizens, be they Jewish, Muslim or otherwise.  For that there are numerous human rights organizations and an Israeli Supreme Court that see that even “torture” designed to obtain information to thwart activities such as terrorist attacks is done within a certain framework.

In Israel, incidentally, there can be no secrets.  Now more than ever before, everything is public knowledge.  I have long advocated that even field security within the IDF needs to be strengthened, since everything is available on-line or on the radio or tv.

A secret such as this (“Israel kidnaps, tortures and murders its own youths in order to fight Hamas”) is too big to hide.  Surely someone, on some moral, ethical or other grounds go public with it.

Israel does not need excuses to conquer Gaza and eliminate Hamas.  Hamas has vouched to destroy Israel, and has been actively pursuing this goal.  Israel must fight Hamas with all her might, although for too long she did not do so.

We can go on and analyze each and every statement above (italicized), and others like it, and soon we will get to the conclusion that they are all a mirror reflection of the enemy.

It is the enemy who regularly sends its women and children and young men to act as human bombs.

It is the enemy who uses civilians as human shields.

It is Hamas that sits in bunkers underneath hospitals, kindergartens, schools and mosques.  (Fatah terrorists are those who, likewise, ran into the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, defiled and desecrated the place knowing Israel will not dare touch a holy place.)

It is Hamas that fires hundreds of rockets a day directly at civilian populations, in order to kill, maim and instill fear and terror in the hearts and minds of as many Israelis as possible.

Israel’s enemies, including Hamas and Fatah and the other tribes that constitute modern day “Palestinians,” regularly advocate the abduction and killing of Israelis.

In short, all these statements are an exact description of what is commonplace within our enemies.

So the question to be asked is not the minutia, rather the truth.

How does one separate truth from fiction, reality from a thousand and one Arabian fantasies?

My colleague and partner, award-winning investigative journalist and author Norma Zager and I have recently embarked on a series called “How not to be Conned.”  It is part of our “Conversations Eye to Eye” on Christian radio on the Crawford Broadcasting network of 23 stations across the USA.

I will send you a powerpoint of the presentation we recently gave at a local church on the same topic.

I am also including a segment on Christian TV with a friend of mine from Israel, Prof. Abraham Sion of Ariel University (in those “Occupied-Occupied Territories,” otherwise known as Judea and Samaria; double-Occupied since all of Israel is “Occupied”).

Fighting Israel with Hitler’s Weapons:

http://www.heaventv7.com/vod/player/?program=35211

Also, I am forwarding an e-mail from a blogger in Israel.  (Appended here below.)  It also discusses exactly the same matter.

You see, you raised a most important question.  Not the actual proof (that exists, but it will make little difference in terms of the lies being floated around), rather how to separate truth from fiction, how to know if something is true or not.

Whether by Israeli enemies or self-haters, our job turns to be most challenging.  We are thinking individuals, and we are easily confused.  Likely because we hear the lies time and again.  Many times the lies come from “reliable” sources (“I am a Jew” or “I am Israeli” or “I served in the IDF” or “I am a son of Holocaust survivors” or from organizations with like names “Pro-Israel, Pro-Peace,” “Jews for Peace,” …).

We are not sure any more what is truth and what is a lie.  What is good and what is bad.

Thus, Norma and I always start and end as follows:

What you need is a benchmark.  It can be God.  It can be the Bible.  It can be your children.  Or your spouse.  It has to be something that for you is the absolute truth.

When something then does not make sense, for instance, when you are told it is dark now, yet you look and the sun is at a zenith and your watch shows 1PM, pinch yourself.

Check what you are told (“it is dark outside” or “Israel kidnapped and murdered the three kids”) against that is most dear to your heart.  God.  The Bible.  Your children.  Your spouse.

And then you will know the answer.  Deep in your heart.  In your mind.  In all your senses.

The fight is difficult, the confusion easily gaining the upper hand.  Thus we must stand ready, knowing our path is right, believing with all our might and putting all our trust as we are like blind persons or a busy highway, a tiny light engulfed in dense darkness.

There is no doubt we will prevail, but the fight is not easy.

It was on July 3rd at the presentation we gave at a local church that I realized that the “Benchmark” or “One’s Absolute Truth” slide was very simple:  At a Church, The Truth is Jesus, a Jewish Rabbi.

So compare the doubts and the statements by Jewish-self-haters and other enemies of the People of the Bible (i.e. us, the Saturday and the Sunday People) to what Jesus has said, and you will have the answer and the proof.

You asked a seemingly “simple question” and clearly did not expect such an answer.

Yet, you managed, as you often do with your preface for every posting of ours, to raise awareness, to focus the attention to bring about truths that need to see the light of day, be read and discussed.

For that – as always – I thank you.

I took the liberty to add a few people to this e-mail, among them:  my colleague, Norma Zager, Pastor Lorraine Coconato in whose Church we gave the most recent talk, Leehy Shaer, the aunt of Gil-Ad HY”D (one of the three kidnapped and murdered youths) who lives in LA, Prof. Abraham Sion of those Occupied-Occupied areas of Zion Jerusalem, Dr. Daryl Temkin, who taught me how easy it is to float a lie and how difficult it is to combat the aftermath, and my friend Danny Seaman from Jerusalem, who for ten years headed the Government Press Office in Israel.  There is no better person that him among us – the soldiers on the front line, the guards on Israel’s walls.

Dear John,

With thanks.  Please feel free to extract segments and/or use as you see fit.  There is plenty of information therein.

I do expect an answer, as the Consul General of Israel for the Western Region (USA) was blind copied on this e-mail and promised a reply.

This said, I am trying to put as little pressure on him as possible, given the current situation and his on-going responsibilities as the highest ranking Israeli representative for the West Coast.

Sunday morning we will be at a Church where he will be speaking.

Subject: RE I have a question

Dear Ari,

Thank you for copying me on your informative article to John, and I would like to add the following:

The Palestinian Arabs have adopted and mastered Nazi propaganda. Goebbels could have learned some tricks from them. They use the same narrative, same cartoons and same repetition of lies and falsehoods, blaming the Jews for almost all world evils. Just to give one example: When Germany decided to invade Poland on the eve of WW2, it came up with a false story that Polish guards at the border between Poland and Germany killed German soldiers. The fact was that German troops killed some fellow German soldiers and blamed the killing on the Poles as a pretext to invade Poland. See how similar Arab propaganda is.

Also, in no Arab country one can find a constitution safeguarding civil rights. In no Arab country, including areas governed by the Palestinian Authority, no Jew can live or have any rights. Yet the Palestinian Arabs blame Israel falsely for all the evils that exist in their own countries and territories. They work around the clock to discredit Israel, but unfortunately, Israel is hardly engaging in any way in refuting those allegations. The outcome is that if the Arabs repeat an allegation one thousand times and there is no one on the other side who bothers to refute them, they are then, in the minds of many people, regarded as facts.  The worst of those who engage in discrediting Israel are often anti Semite Jews.

Best

Are Jews the Bane of the World’s Future?

I received a comment from a Christian that was upset with me that I believe the Land of Israel is for the Jews because God gave it to the Jews by Promise. The comment was from a post entitled “YOU KNOW the USA and EU Work AGAINST Israel, Right? (Cross posted at SlantRight 2.0) In essence the commenter seems to believe that when Paul calls Christians Spiritual Israel then the Promise to the Jews was replaced by Christians; ergo Christians replace Jews as the Chosen People.

In case I have read it wrong here is the comment:

After seeing one post awhile back i followed you, thinking i’d see some more reasoned thinking… Now I’ve UN-followed — because it’s a waste to hear the typical yammering by another neo-Conned religious dude who doesn’t get Romans 9 — where Paul clearly spells it out for us– who is an Israelite? Or you can read in Revelation 2 again about the false Jews. (Pray and meditate as your read, and look at the actions –unprovoked war against the US in 1967 — destroying the USS LIberty (ever studied that?)

Why do you think we were warned TWICE, in critical places of the Scriptures?

From the Rothschilds to British Zionists to the current Yahoo in charge, the Beast of Daniel 9 has effective control of your beloved brutal state… — SO Who really runs the machinery of gov’t there? Are they using our military brothers as stooges while the powers in media and even the 501 c 3 churches have fallen into the trap?

What good can Jesus do with a Neo-Conned church? (Bold Emphasis Mine)

The only reference to Jews in Revelations is a weak assertion that the Christians have replaced the Jews. For one thing Chapter 2 of Revelation is about Christian Churches that have strayed away from the principles that make a strong Church thus endangering their position in Christ. Revelation 2: 8-11

The Persecuted Church

8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write,

‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: 9 “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

11 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”’ (Bold Emphasis Mine NKJV)

The “Jews” the Apostle John is writing about by prophetic revelation are Christians that believe the Law must be abided by Christians with the emphasis of circumcision and ritual rites. The Apostle Paul did not have a problem with Jews that believe the Salvation work of Jesus Christ but he did have a problem with Jewish Christians forcing Gentile Christians to directly follow the Law. The Law culminates in Christ hence Faith trumps works of the Law to remain in Right Standing with God in Christ. (See Matt. 5: 17-20 and Romans 10: 3-13)

So when the commenter associates the term “Synagogue of Satan” with all Jews as a condemned people in the sight of God he/she is greatly mistaken.

For greater clarity on Jews as still the Chosen People or the people of the Promise through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob read what Paul says that the Promise to the Jews is by no means annulled:

Present Condition of Israel

30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.[a] 32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law.[b] For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. 33 As it is written:

“Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense,
And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
[c] (Romans 9: 30-33 NKJV)

Israel Needs the Gospel

10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel[a] is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”[a]

19 But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says:

“I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation,
I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.”
[a]

20 But Isaiah is very bold and says:

“I was found by those who did not seek Me;
I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”
[b]

21 But to Israel he says:

“All day long I have stretched out My hands
To a disobedient and contrary people.”
[c]

Israel’s Rejection Not Total

11 1 I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, 3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”?[a] 4 But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”[b] 5 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.[c] But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

Israel’s Rejection Not Final

11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. 12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness,[a] if you continue in His goodness.

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved,[b] as it is written:

“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;

27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
[c] (Romans 11: 1-6, 11-27 NKJV)

This is some clarity that the Promised Land is still the land of the Jews which is the Land of Israel – Eretz Israel.

Now let’s examine a few assertions by the commenter that has little to do with the Promise to the Jews and more to do with a bias against Israel which I perceive may even smack a bit of Antisemitism.

The 1967 War in which Jordan, Syria and Egypt AGAIN prepared to invade Israel with the intention to destroy, because of its Jewish nature the commenter insinuates an Israel attack on the USS Liberty was an overt act of war against the United States. The reality is AGAIN Israel was involved in a war of its survival and after Israel perceived an attack from the sea hit some IDF forces Israel retaliated based on the perception. Here is a good summary:

The Israeli attack on the USS Liberty was a grievous error, largely attributable to the fact that it occurred in the midst of the confusion of a full-scale war in 1967. Ten official United States investigations and three official Israeli inquiries have all conclusively established the attack was a tragic mistake.

On June 8, 1967, the fourth day of the Six-Day War, the Israeli high command received reports that Israeli troops in El Arish were being fired upon from the sea, presumably by an Egyptian vessel, as they had a day before. The United States had announced that it had no naval forces within hundreds of miles of the battle front on the floor of the United Nations a few days earlier; however, the USS Liberty, an American intelligence ship under the dual control of the Defense Intelligence Agency/Central Intelligence Agency and the Sixth Fleet, was assigned to monitor the fighting. As a result of a series of United States communication failures, whereby messages directing the ship not to approach within 100 miles were not received by the Liberty, the ship sailed to within 14 miles off the Sinai coast. The Israelis mistakenly thought this was the ship shelling its soldiers and war planes and torpedo boats attacked, killing 34 members of the Liberty ‘screw and wounding 171. Ships from the Sixth Fleet were directed to launch four attack aircraft with fighter cover to defend the Liberty, but the planes were recalled after a message was received at the White House that the Israelis had admitted they had attacked the ship.

Numerous mistakes were made by both the United States and Israel. For example, the Liberty was first reported — incorrectly, as it turned out — to be cruising at 30 knots (it was later recalculated to be 28 knots). Under Israeli (and U.S.) naval doctrine at the time, a ship proceeding at that speed was presumed to be a warship. The sea was calm and the U.S. Navy Court of Inquiry found that the Liberty’s flag was very likely drooped and not discernible; moreover, members of the crew, including the Captain, Commander William McGonagle, testified that the flag was knocked down after the first or second assault.

According to Israeli Chief of Staff Yitzhak Rabin’s memoirs, there were standing orders to attack any unidentified vessel near the shore.1The day fighting began, Israel had asked that American ships be removed from its coast or that it be notified of the precise location of U.S. vessels.2 The Sixth Fleet was moved because President Johnson feared being drawn into a confrontation with the Soviet Union. He also ordered that no aircraft be sent near Sinai.

A CIA report on the incident issued June 13, 1967, also found that an overzealous pilot could mistake the Liberty for an Egyptian ship, the El Quseir. After the air raid, Israeli torpedo boats identified the Liberty as an Egyptian naval vessel. When the Liberty began shooting at the Israelis, they responded with the torpedo attack, which killed 28 of the sailors. In 1981, the National Security Agency noted that accounts by members of the Liberty crew and others did not have access to the relevant signal intelligence reports or the confidential explanation provided by Israel to the United States, which were used in the CIA investigation. The NSA concluded: “While these [signal intelligence of Israeli communications] reports revealed some confusion on the part of the pilots concerning the nationality of the ship, they tended to rule out any thesis that the Israeli Navy and Air Force deliberately attacked a ship they knew to be American.”2a

The Joint Chiefs of Staff investigated the communications failure and noted that the Chief of Naval Operations expressed concern about the prudence of sending the Liberty so close to the area of hostilities and four messages were subsequently sent instructing the ship to move farther away from the area of hostilities. The JCS report said the messages were never received because of “a combination of (1) human error, (2) high volume of communications traffic, and (3) lack of appreciation of sense of urgency regarding the movement of the Liberty.” The report also included a copy of a flash cable sent immediately after the attack, which reported that Israel had “erroneously” attacked the Liberty, that IDF helicopters were in rescue operations, and that Israel had sent “abject apologies” and requested information on any other U.S. ships near the war zone.

Initially, the Israelis were terrified that they had attacked a Soviet ship and might have provoked the Soviets to join the fighting.3 Once the Israelis were sure what had happened, they reported the incident to the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and offered to provide a helicopter for the Americans to fly out to the ship and any help they required to evacuate the injured and salvage the ship. The offer was accepted and a U.S. naval attaché was flown to the Liberty.

The Israelis were “obviously shocked” by the error they made in attacking the ship, according to the U.S. Ambassador in Tel Aviv. In fact, according to a secret report on the 1967 war, the immediate concern was that the Arabs might see the proximity of the Liberty to the conflict as evidence of U.S.-Israel collusion.3a A second secret report concluded, “While the attack showed a degree of impetuosity and recklessness, it was also clear that the presence of a U.S. naval vessel, unannounced, that close to belligerent shores at a time when we had made much of the fact that no U.S. military forces were moving near the area of hostilities was inviting disaster.”3b

Sorry commenter there was no intention of pre-1967 borders Israel taking on invading Arab armies and the super power the United States. That’s not smart thinking.

In Conspiracy Theory when it involves Jews, the international aspect of the Rothschild family has always figured large in the accusation of Jewish World Domination. Here is an example:

SECRECY IS THE HALLMARK of the Jewish Rothschild Dynasty. But I, Brother Nathanael Kapner, a former Jew, am intent on bursting the “Rothschild-bubble.” I am doing this because I perceive that the Rothschilds, (they are Jews), are the leaders, (they are secretive), in destroying Christian civilization throughout the world. (How The Rothschild Dynasty Operates; By Nathanael Kapner; Real Jew News; 4/29/08)

If the Rothschilds are involved in a NWO conspiracy I doubt that the little sliver of land known as Israel is a cog in that agenda. Here is some info that is probably closer to the truth about the Rothschild family in monolithic terms:

There is no longer any such thing as a monolithic House of Rothschild with connections to any significant number of all the scores of today’s independent Rothschild business ventures. The closest thing is Rothschilds Continuation Holdings AG, a Swiss company that manages interests in many Rothschild-founded institutions. There are no longer any Rothschild family members on its board (the last having retired in 2011), though about eight Rothschilds are believed to own stakes in it (like many holding companies, it’s privately held, so its records are not public). Its other owners include Rabobank and Hong Kong based Jardine Matheson Holdings. The Rothschild funds it manages now focus on mergers and acquisitions. Make no mistake, it’s a large and successful company; but with billions in assets, it’s a relatively small fish in the sea of world financial institutions with trillions in assets, including Deutsche Bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, HSBC Holdings, BNP Paribas, Japan Post Bank, Crédit Agricole Group, Barclays PLC, Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, Royal Bank of Scotland Group, JP Morgan Chase & Co., and many others. Anyone trying to point the finger at the scattered Rothschilds as “controlling” world banks has an awfully tall order. That little factoid is about 100 years out of date.

By my analysis, the Rothschilds are best thought of not as an evil shadow conspiracy, but as a great success story of rags to riches, Jewish slum to financing the defeat of Napoleon. The price of gold is fixed twice a day by five members of the London Bullion Association: Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank, Scotiabank, HSBC, and Societe Generale, and they conduct their twice-daily meeting over the telephone. Today this is mere financial necessity, but until 2004, it was also a century-old tradition as great as the ringing of the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The five distinguished representatives included a Rothschild, and they met in person in a paneled room at the London office of N M Rothschild & Sons. That ritual is now a thing of the past, as is the power of the world’s greatest financial dynasty. (These are the last two paragraphs of “The Rothschild Conspiracy”; By Brian Dunning; Skeptoid; 5/22/12)

Scroll back up toward the top to read the commenter’s accusation of British Zionism and compare to these far out Anti-Semitic words:

The Davidic monarchy of Britain, and the rulers of all her allied/related nations; including America and parts of the Commonwealth like Australia, Canada and New Zealand, and others; have purposefully hidden their people’s true Israelite identity/history from them.

http://www.jahtruth.net/heraldry.htm

To do this successfully, they have helped to promote the idea that the synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9 / 3:9) – those who say they are Jews and are not, are the real “Israel”, in order to draw attention away from themselves. When for the most part, these so-called Jews are actually Idumeans (from Esau/Edom), Ashkenazi (Genesis 10:2, 3) & Khazars.

Why have they done this? Why don’t they tell their people the truth? Are they ashamed of belonging to the House of Israel?

http://jahtruth.net/britca.htm

The answer is simple when you look at it from their perspective. And is why the Davidic British monarchy gave over control of Palestine to the counterfeit-Jews, who say they are Jews, and are not. The “Elite” have done a deal with the Devil’s synagogue, for their own convenience and Elizabeth Battenberg/Mounbatten even inter-married with them, and then had their male children circumcised by a rabbi, as only counterfeit-Jews can be, under counterfeit-Jewish Talmudism. (The Counterfeit-Jew Zionist and Judahite British Elite Conspiracy; By cybe; 100777.com; 8/15/08)

Yeah, that’s some nutty stuff.

Then the commenter mentions “the current Yahoo in charge”. I had to think about that a minute. Then I realized Marissa Mayer has a Jewish last name, so I looked up her ethno-religiosity:

Is Marissa Mayer Jewish?

Yes, the new CEO of Yahoo!, Marissa Mayer is a Jew.

Hat tip to our friend David who points out, “I find it interesting that Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and as of Monday, Yahoo!, are all run by Jews.” (Is Marissa Mayer Jewish? By Tzvee Zahavy; The Talmudic Blog; 7/16/12)

Jews in the 21st century are from religious to secular and even to atheistic in their belief system. I have no idea where MS Mayer stands on her heritage and this is not the place to do further research to satisfy my curiosity. Nevertheless I can see that the commenter is concerned about her Jewishness. And so we can conclude that the commenter is an Anti-Semite because of the obvious everything Jewish is evil mentality.

Daniel chapter 9 is about Daniel’s awareness that Jeremiah’s prophecy that 70 years of exile had elapsed which meant the time for the Jews to return home had come. In chapter 9 Daniel intercedes to God for mercy on the Jews’ past path that was so bad that God’s punishment was to exile them from the Promised Land. I am guessing the commenter presumes this is an example of God abandoning Jews because of sin. The reality is if you read the rest of Daniel 9 God Almighty gives Daniel a vision which for Christians has a double meaning. The first meaning was Jews indeed would return home and stay there until the Messiah comes. For the majority of Jews this has not happened, but for Christians that Messiah was and is Jesus Christ of the lineage of David in the flesh and the Son of God by incarnation. Again Jewish leadership became more worldly minded than spiritual minded losing their rebellion against the Romans which in turned emptied huge chunks of Jews into exile called the Diaspora. Guess what: When the Messiah returns again the Jews will know Him as Jesus the Messiah and Savior.

In my opinion it is a bit of an expectation that the majority of Jews in the present are wary of Jesus Christ as Messiah because of how the Christian Church forsook the love of Christ to persecute Jews as Christ-killers not realizing the Chosen People’s time of full restoration will not occur until Christ Returns. Modern Israel is the miracle that should signify to Christians the fullness of the times of the Gentiles has not happened yet but is getting closer.

Chuckle … The commenter quite cleverly lists Christians that agree with the Bible that the Jews are the Chosen People have been “Neo-Conned”. That is a reference to the name of the blog that the comment was actually left upon – the NeoConservative Christian Right (NCCR). My favorite blog to post on is actually SlantRight 2.0; however the NCCR is my secondary blog that usually benefits from cross posting.

It is true, even though Neoconservatism has bad a rap with the Left and many on the Right I have an affinity for this Conservative ideology. For myself I am a fiscal Conservative with domestic issues and a supporter of a big military to keep America strong, protected and free. Most Libertarian-Conservatives and perhaps a majority of Paleoconservatives lean to going back to pre-WWII days when America purposely kept the military small under an Isolationist Foreign Policy. Isolationism was good for its day when the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans served as a buffer against militarily powerful nations.

Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 which signaled the end of ocean buffers as a protection for the USA. This means Isolationist policies will always be ineffective in protecting our homeland. Only a pro-active military will keep America the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

Another aspect of NeoConservatism was the concept of spreading American-style democracy to otherwise hostile despotic nations. The theory being a nation of laws might disagree with American National Interests but would be more interested in achieving a diplomatic solution to disagreements with a like-minded governing system.

I have since modified my agreement with nation-building after encountering actual hatred from Muslim citizens for delivering them from despotism. That anger is based primarily on the Islamic theopolitical dynamic that is totally the opposite of the Constitutional Freedom Americans have. Muslims have been totally brainwashed by their religion that politics and religion are equal partners in governance. Islam’s holy writings demand absolute submission to their deity Allah and absolute respect for their false prophet Mohammed in a socio-political sense as well as religiously. If the governing authorities fail to uphold this mind-set through a Muslim rule of law known as Sharia massive riots occur. There is no amount of nation-building that will change this Muslim-mindset without forcing a situation where the people are taught a system more accustomed to Liberty and Freedom.

In the 21st century an all-out war to conquer an evil religious ideology is Politically Incorrect. However, the all-out war concept to transform the minds of a conquered people is part and parcel of Islamic ideology from the days of conquering Mohammed through to the present time. That is the West’s current weakness.

Now back to the commenter. I suspect the commenter’s problem with NeoConservatism is less with its broad ideology but more with the movement’s historical figures which were often Jewish and/or Marxist in their thought process. Liberal Jews joined bewildered Marxists abandoning Communism due to the example of the abject failure Leninist-Stalinist and Maoist Communism to bring forth a civil free society. One famous Neocon brought forth this transformative thought: A Neocon is a Liberal mugged by reality (Loose memory of the original quote). I believe I have already established the commenter has a problem with Jews. You can see the antipathy and dislike then of NeoConservatism.

MY NAME IS TOM TRENTO AND…I DON’T WANT TO "SLAUGHTER JEWS."

Tom Trento - Dir. TUW

Liberal Jews in America that lean on the Democratic Party and Obama’s agenda to create a Jew-hating state called Palestine are literally setting Israel up for a Jewish genocide that will exceed the Nazi Holocaust of WWII.

One example of those Liberal Jewish Democrats is Mark Alan Siegel Chairman of the Dem Party of Palm Beach, FL. Siegel is so virulently Land for peace that will destroy Israel that he is publically putting out there that Christian Zionists (Siegel calls them fundamentalists) want Jews to be slaughtered in Israel so the return of the Christian Messiah will return.

That is the ludicrous cheap propaganda that Jewish Democrats are dumping on American Jews to get them to vote for President Barack Hussein Obama.

Here is how I learned about this fool from The United West and Tom Trento.

Obama’s Foreign Policy is Unfavorable to Israel

Jesus Returns with Army 2

John R. Houk

© August 17, 2012

Caroline Glick has written an essay that begins with the U.S. Foreign Policy debacle of doing nothing to keep Mao Zedong (Mao Tse Dung) from his Communist conquest of China. Mao wrested control of the Chinese government from the Nationalist government of Chiang Kai-Chek who ended up fleeing to Formosa (Today’s Taiwan).

Glick compares Mao’s usurpation of power in China to allowing the Muslim Brotherhood Islamist President Mohamed Morsi of winning a close Egyptian election. Glick reports that Egyptian military authorities and generals have been fired and replaced with Muslim Brotherhood loyalists. Also Morsi has not called the Egyptian Parliament back (disbanded originally by Egyptian military) which Glick believes gives Morsi the power to write Egypt’s new Constitution. If Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood write the next Egyptian Constitution, this will probably instill dictatorial powers on the new Egyptian President. Glick believes these dictatorial powers will be on a larger scale than the Obama abandoned and deposed Hosni Mubarak’s power.

Glick then properly goes on to criticize Obama’s Foreign Policy of joining Turkey in supporting the Islamist rebels fighting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Now I realize there will be really no difference in Israel-hate and American-hate from which ever Syrian broker eventually stabilizes control of Syria; however deposing Assad would throw a monkey wrench into the Iranian-Syrian military alliance at least for awhile. That actually would be to America’s benefit. Anything that sets Iran back with only a little resource involvement by the US is a plus for America.

If the Sunni-Islamists succeed in taking over Syria the animosity with Iran would only be temporary in my opinion. The one thing that unites and smoothes over the hatred between Sunni and Shia Muslims (Iran is a Shia Theocracy) is a mutual hatred for Jews and Israel.

I suspect if Israel attacks Iranian nuke sites the Sunni regimes of Turkey (Islamist government) and now Egypt (Muslim Brotherhood Islamist government) might begin to offer at the very least clandestine military aid to Iranian client Hezbollah and the Sunni-Islamist terrorists Hamas. Undoubtedly Hamas would join a Hezbollah attack from the north by making a southern military front against Israel. The Saudi Royal Family hates and fears the militant Shia Iran regime in becoming a regional hegemon. I believe it is a pretty good guess that the Wahhabi Clerics in Saudi Arabia would fully support the elimination of Israel’s existence. If the Saudi Royal Family does not want its own civil war it would probably support yet another invasion of Israel while working clandestinely with the USA to help thwart Iranian influence.

Israel’s existence is in volatile times. A nuclear armed Iran would be suicide for Israel. Israel must take the risk of regional war to stop the formation of nuclear warheads that can be placed on Iranian missiles that can easily reach Israel. If a regional war breaks out Israel would have to be harsh on the Arabs that call themselves Palestinians just to survive. I sense a President like Obama would condemn Israel for such self-preservation harshness against Palestinian Authority Arabs and Hamas governed Gaza Arabs. An Obama-like President might even desire to punish Israel by not helping the Jewish State to survive.

YOU DO KNOW what would happen to Jews in a defeated Israel, right? There would be a SECOND Holocaust that would either rival the Hitler-Nazi Holocaust or even exceed those dimensions of butchery.

American voters need to vote for a President that is Pro-Israel and willing to stand with Israel even if doing so is not Politically Correct to the rest of the Western World. Currently that man is GOP Nominee Mitt Romney. Standing with Israel will bring the blessings of God Almighty for blessing God’s Chosen People.

I am not Jewish; nonetheless I and other Biblical Christians support Israel because the Jewish State’s existence is prophetic. Eventually Jesus Himself will Return and the Jews will comprehend He is their Messiah as much as He is the Christian Messiah (i.e. the Christ) of Christian Believers looking for the fulfillment of God’s plans for His Creation. Salvation is of the Jews.

Yup, you pegged me: I am a Christian Zionist (SA Jewish Virtual Library). The kind of person Leftists, Muslims and erstwhile so-called Progressive Christians dislike immensely. Unfortunately many Liberal and Observant Jews distrust the motivation of Christian Zionists.

[SlantRight Editor Side Note: The distrust is in the Christian Zionist motivation to be a friend of Israel. Jews are not real hip to Christian proselytizing because of the unscriptural and horrid treatment Jews received at the hands of Christians taught to hate Jews as Christ-killers. The accusation was unfair in Christian history and it is unfair now.

For one thing polytheistic Romans were goaded into Crucifying Christ at the behest of power-station minded Jewish leadership (viz. the Sanhedrin monopolized by Pharisees but dominated by Greek mindset Sadducees).]

Well that is my two-cents. The analysis of Israel’s predicament and U.S. Foreign Policy is much more eloquently provided by Caroline Glick. You should READ IT.
