Thanks to Justin Smith, More Thoughts on Assange

I am amazed at the number of Conservatives that are wholly supportive of Julian Assange as a hero in an age of corrupt government. In full disclosure, I am extremely grateful the old self-serving cad exposed the wickedness of the Crooked Hillary campaign for President. There were plenty of DNC secrets BUT there were ZERO Classified State secrets/documents that would harm Military or Intelligence personnel in their duties for the U.S. government.

 

When I posted Justin Smith’s “Julian Assange — A Good End to America’s Enemy,” (SlantRight 2.0 & NCCR) the majority of the Social Media Conservative comments were quite hostile for condemning the nefarious side of Julian Assange.

 

From those comments I was persuaded that the “Pentagon Papers” defense could apply to Julian Assange as much as SCOTUS sided with Daniel Ellsberg. At first reading the comments applying the Pentagon Papers/Ellsberg was compelling to me. Then I ran into an article by Harry Melkonian in 2013 in relation to Wikileaks and transgendered Bradley Manning which provides scope that obliterates the Assange/Pentagon Papers argument:

 

“Much has been made of the parallels between Manning’s situation and the plight of Daniel Ellsberg, a US military analyst who released the Pentagon Papers during the Vietnam War.

 

But there is a major difference: Ellsberg released classified information and he faced criminal charges for that act. However, the documents released by Ellsberg were only historical and could not seriously be thought to compromise the interests of the United States.

 

The Pentagon Papers revealed a lack of candor by Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration concerning the Vietnam War and subjected the US to ridicule, but it did not jeopardise security. The papers were released during the Nixon presidency but none of the documents related to events that occurred during the Nixon administration.

 

Ellsberg may have done something unlawful but no-one could claim that it compromised ongoing military operations. This point is clearly revealed by the Nixon tapes, in which the president and his aides were initially rather pleased by the leaking of documents that embarrassed Johnson. In fact, the Supreme Court refused to stop publication of the Pentagon Papers because they found that nothing in the documents could possibly be considered a military secret. The charges against Ellsberg were ultimately dismissed because of the misbehavior of Nixon’s infamous plumbers unit.

 

But Manning is charged with releasing many thousands of government documents and not just historical records. Assange and Manning did expose potential war crimes committed by the USA:

 

“… The publication provided explosive evidence of human rights abuses in Iraq and Pakistani cooperation with the Taliban in Afghanistan — among many other revelations …

… A brief experiment with automatic redactions was aborted. The journalist-led redactions were abandoned too after Assange’s relationship with the London press corps turned toxic. By 2013 WikiLeaks had written off the redaction efforts as a wrong move.

Three Saudi cables published by WikiLeaks identified domestic workers who’d been tortured or sexually abused by their employers, giving the women’s full names and passport numbers. One cable named a male teenager who was raped by a man while abroad; a second identified another male teenager who was so violently raped his legs were broken; a third outlined the details of a Saudi man detained for “sexual deviation” — a derogatory term for homosexuality.

 

Scott Long, an LGBT rights activist who has worked in the Middle East, said the names of rape victims were off-limits. To date there have been no public revelations of people who died resulting from the Wikileaks/Manning document dump, BUT lives were endangered according to the National Review:

 

“… Among the documents Manning turned over to Assange were war logs that contained the names of hundreds of civilians who cooperated with U.S. forces. The DOJ is asserting that Manning did not act on his/her own volition in the once sealed indictment against Julian Assange. Evidently the DOJ believes it can prove criminal conspiracy with Manning rather Manning acting alone and dumping Classified material into Assange’s lap:

 

“In an indictment revealed Thursday morning, U.S. authorities say Assange conspired with former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to steal and publish huge troves of classified documents. Prosecutors said Assange at one point tried to help Manning crack a password to access military computers where the information was stored.

 

Over four months in 2010, Manning downloaded hundreds of thousands of secret reports on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as State Department cables and information about detainees in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Manning turned the records over to WikiLeaks, which passed them to journalists and published them on the internet.

 

Prosecutors said it was one of the most extensive leaks of classified secrets in U.S. history.

 

Assange is charged with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion. In fairness to Assange, he does have his supporters that pooh-pooh everything I just disclosed. For example Sharmini Peries of the Real News Network interviewed Daniel Ellsberg in correlation to Assange’s recent arrest. However Peries is a Leftist and her past association with Hugo Chavez may suggest she has a Marxist orientation. Which brings me to the mantra – Leftists lie.

 

This is what began these thoughts on, “Is Assange a criminal or hero,” is a submission by Justin Smith taking a stand that Julian Assange is an enemy of America and not a hero.

 

I’d like to think Justin’s submission resulted from a Facebook Messenger text I sent him yesterday about the pushback I was receiving from his earlier Julian Assange submission. As of this writing I have not gone back to Facebook to read my messages, but it’s at logical I’m not the only relaying feedback about his earlier submission (which Justin certainly submitted to other blogs and websites for publication as well).

 

In honesty I don’t like to share contributor’s post unless I can validate the info within the submission. As I began that process with Justin I ended up just adding my own response. I sense most of what I sourced in my thoughts corroborates Justin’s submission; ergo this is a rare time that I will not be adding corroborating sources. It may interest the reader that Justin provides a list of titles for me to choose from. I get to choose the title that I sense best fits. Enjoy and if you are in the camp Conservative that Assange is a hero, we’ll just have to agree to disagree. If your politics are Left-Wing, I could care less about any hateful vitriol in defense of Assange.

FOREWORD ___ No matter how beneficial one may have found Assange’s information dump to be to Conservative America overall, he still cost American lives in the Middle Eastern theater and the lives of many who were working with our nation.

Of late, my tolerance for people who advocate for actions that subvert “the rule of law” and by those actions the republic has slipped to zero. Some things are just pretty black and white to me. No matter how one wishes to frame the picture, Assange is no friend to America.

Julian Assange was a hero for much of the American Left when he was undermining American national security and putting Americans and allies in jeopardy, but a villain when he helped Vladimir Putin damage Hillary Clinton. But hold on. Assange became a hero for many on the right for the very same reasons. He was a villain for working with then–Bradley Manning for a lot of people. But that was all forgiven when he helped Putin damage Hillary Clinton.

 

If it’s your view that Assange was noble for undermining the U.S. war effort or national security but evil for undermining the DNC or Hillary Clinton, then your standard for such things is entirely team-based. And if it’s your view that Assange was evil for undermining the U.S. war effort or national security but noble for undermining the DNC or Hillary Clinton, your standards are also entirely team-based.

 

What Assange did wasn’t “journalism”. If he had filtered the information that he helped steal and simply focused on the Bad Guys and actual misdeeds and corruption found, I might have been more forgiving, but he Lumped the Good Guys in with the mix and released ALL Their Information for all to see, DESPITE PLEAS FROM HUMAN RIGHTS organizations [Some of which actually funded by George Soros] for him to redact that info.

Assange is an enemy of democracy not just for publishing stolen political gossip, but for aiding and enabling Manning’s espionage against the United States, in what far too many call an act of a “whistleblower”; Manning helped Assange publish far more sensitive, far more important, indeed life-endangering material.

 

Among the documents Manning turned over to Assange were war logs that contained the names of hundreds of civilians who cooperated with U.S. forces. Assange threw all caution to the wind and indiscriminately published those logs en masse, without redacting the names of civilians involved, placing those fighting for freedom in their countries in great peril.

Many CIA operatives and many covert assets working in country in Afghanistan and Iraq were subsequently outed and murdered as a direct result of this info dump. The embeds who weren’t killed, including several U.S. SOF personnel, report that the Taliban and Al Qaeda regularly poured over the information, sorting and sifting, to learn of U.S. tactics, strategic plans underway, and personnel strength and positions as well as armaments on hand.

The “benefit” from this information could have been achieved without the indiscriminate dumping of information.

If Assange thought there was criminal activity underway in the U.S. government, he should have simply released that criminal related information alone. His intention was to harm America, since the manner of his release didn’t focus on the Bad Guys; and he released the UNREDACTED NAMES, addresses, phone numbers and everything else related to ALL the other Good and Decent Young Men and Women in Our Armed Forces WHO HAD DONE NO WRONG — placing their information in the hands of the enemy, endangering them and their families.

Anyway one wants to look at it, if one is intellectually honest and views his actions through the prism of “the rule of law”, Assange is absolutely an enemy to America and a criminal GUILTY of ESPIONAGE, who should be under a U.S. prison, if not executed — the sooner the better.

Forgive me if I think You are in error to take Assange’s side in this. That some benefit came from his crime of espionage doesn’t absolve him of the crime and all the real world harm that came from it.

 

Julian Assange’s arrest and indictment should provide us with a moment of reflection. He is an awful man. He dumped American military secrets into the public domain without any regard for human life. He conspired with an American soldier to crack American security systems in the effort to deliver more secrets to the world public.

 

His co-conspirator, Chelsea (then Bradley) Manning, wasn’t a “whistleblower” — and neither was Assange. Manning didn’t carefully extract evidence of alleged wrongdoing from classified files and go to the press (a defensible, though still illegal, act). He just dumped hundreds of thousands of pages of classified files into Assange’s hands, and Assange posted them, en masse, on the Internet.

 

Any jihadist or enemy with Internet access could read the documents and not just learn about the identities of American allies on the ground (placing them at immediate, mortal risk) but also gain extraordinary insight into American military tactics and plans — including learning exactly how effective (or ineffective) their own weapons and tactics were.

 

Manning committed treason. Assange helped him. And there were Americans who celebrated both men.

 

The First Amendment doesn’t protect criminal acts and what Assange did wasn’t journalism. He didn’t write any story that focused on the Bad Guys and any of the wrongdoing in government. All he did was steal info that he later sold to the highest bidder; it’s not remotely in the same ballpark as reporters reporting it in the NYTs and WaPo afterwards. You seem not to care that he dumped Good and Decent Americans UNREDACTED Names, Addresses and Phone Numbers along with the Bad Guys, and HE COST AMERICAN LIVES in the aftermath.

In 2010, everyone on both sides of the aisle saw Assange as an enemy to America. The Obama administration condemned him, conservatives called him a traitor, and Donald Trump said WikiLeaks was “disgraceful,” adding that there should be the “death penalty or something” for its actions. Fast-forward to 2016, and WikiLeaks enjoyed a reputational renaissance on the right. Why? Well, WikiLeaks was the same organization, but its target had changed. Rather than taking on alleged American imperialism, it was the conduit for an alleged Russian hack that was systematically embarrassing Hillary Clinton and the Democratic party in the middle of a hotly contested presidential election. “I love WikiLeaks,” Trump declared to rousing cheers at a rally. Sean Hannity defended him during the election and even referred to Assange to advance his absurd Seth Rich conspiracy theory. Even worse, the special counsel’s office has alleged that a “senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact Stone about any additional releases and what other damaging information [WikiLeaks] had regarding the Clinton Campaign.” Trump “loved” Wikileaks, and his campaign allegedly endeavored to get information from WikiLeaks — the same organization that had just a few years before conspired with a traitor to place American soldiers and American allies in mortal danger.

HYPOCRITES ABOUND — Julian Assange intentionally and deliberately works against American interests. Yet there are Americans who will intentionally and deliberately share WikiLeaks information, wield it as a weapon against their political opponents. There is no virtue in Assange. Those who celebrated his “transparency” in the Manning document dumps forget that responsible reporters who gain access to classified material carefully vet that material to make sure that their disclosures do not needlessly endanger innocent Americans, and they carefully weigh the value of the disclosure against the gravity of the harm.

 

Assange and Manning did not seem to care about the men and women they betrayed. Those who celebrated Assange’s role in the DNC and Podesta hacks forget that he was playing a willing and even eager role in a foreign plan to disrupt an election and divide our nation — a plan that worked beautifully in large part because of the very celebration of the hacks themselves.

 

In “Flight 93 elections,” I suppose, advancing Russian interests is a small price to pay for a news cycle or two that humiliates Hillary. And, by the way, if one is going to rightly denigrate the role that Russian hacking had in swaying the American election, how can one also then claim that advancing Russian interests and magnifying Assange was somehow important enough to be worth the costs?

Julian Assange is an enemy of the United States. Just because he is the enemy of our enemies as seen in the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton, and you now consider the enemy Assange to be your friend, that doesn’t make your “friend” Assange any less the actual entity trying to undermine American security, divide American society, and even threaten American lives.

I have no problem whatsoever with TRUE Whistleblowers who take precise aim at SPECIFIC WRONGS and SPECIFIC Crimes they have found within the U.S. government. But even then, there are proven and viable methods within our government for just such cases, and Manning never made the first attempt to take his concerns to his superiors and the proper chain of military command, as outlined in the Uniform Military Code of Justice, and Assange never cared one way or another who got hurt by his actions; all he saw was dollar signs and fame, but what is anyone to expect from a narcissist and a rapist like Assange.

There is so much that stinks around this entire episode in our nation’s recent events. Assange actually sought temporary relief and cover in Russia and regularly bashed America on his TV program ‘Russia Today’.

One of his first guests was the High Cleric and Hezbollah terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Assange’s motives were far from pure or noble. He’s no “hero”.

 

Julian Assange is an anti-American LEFTIST, and an ENEMY to America.

And, to tell the truth, I’d probably drop a hammer on him if I ever had him in my sights.

If you are a Conservative, you probably have heard of George Soros. He is a nefarious individual who actually has a past connected to the Nazi regime of Germany’s Adolf Hitler.

 

Judicial Watch has put together an exposé of Soros showing that his voluminous Left-Wing Globalist organizations are receiving taxpayer supported funding.

 

This man’s agenda is to destroy and transform America which should sound familiar to Barack Hussein Obama’s 2008 election night promise to his cadres:

Those Obama words is one reason Conservatives believed he was a puppet of the /Soros agenda.

 

Let’s look at a little Soros history for context today:

 

George Soros was born to Tividar and Erzebat Schwartz, non-practicing Jews, in Budapest, Hungary on August 12, 1930. Tivadar was an attorney by profession, but the consuming passion of his life was the promotion of Esperanto—an artificial, “universal” language created during the 1880s in hopes that people worldwide might be persuaded to drop their native tongues and speak Esperanto instead—thereby, in theory at least, minimizing their nationalist impulses while advancing intercultural harmony. In 1936, Tivadar changed his family surname to Soros—a future-tense Esperanto verb meaning “will soar.”13

 

When the Nazis occupied Budapest in 1944, Tivadar decided to split up his family so as to minimize the chance that all its members would be killed together. For each of them—his wife and two sons he purchased forged papers identifying them as Christians; paid government officials to conceal his family’s Jewish heritage from the German and Hungarian fascists; and bribed Gentile families to take them into their homes. As for George in particular, the father paid a Hungarian government official named Baumbach to claim George as his Christian godson, “Sandor Kiss,” and to let the boy live with him in Budapest. One of Baumbach’s duties was to deliver deportation notices to Hungary’s Jews, confiscating their property and turning it over to Germany. Young George Soros sometimes accompanied the official on his rounds.14 …

 

Soros today recalls the German occupation of Hungary as “probably the happiest year of my life.” “For me,” he elaborates, “it was a very positive experience. …

 

In 1947 the Soros family relocated from Hungary to England, where George attended the London School of Economics (LSE). There, he was exposed to the works of the Viennese-born philosopher Karl Popper, who taught at LSE and whom Soros would later call his “spiritual mentor.”17 Though Soros never studied directly under Popper, he read the latter’s works and submitted some essays to him for review and comment. Most notably, Popper’s 1945 book The Open Society and Its Enemies introduced Soros to the concept of an “open society,” a theme that would play a central role in Soros’s thought and activities for the rest of his life.18

 

… Popper readily embraced this concept and expanded upon it. In his view, the open society was a place that permitted its citizens the right to criticize and change its institutions as they saw fit; he rejected the imposed intellectual conformity, central planning, and historical determinism of Marxist doctrine.20 By Popper’s reckoning, a society was “closed”—and thus undesirable—if it assumed that it was in any way superior to other societies. Likewise, any belief system or individual claiming to be in possession of “ultimate truth” was an “enemy” of the open society as well. Thus, by logical extension, Popper did not share the American founders’ confident assertion that certain truths were “self-evident,” and that certain rights—such as the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” as referenced in the Declaration of Independence—were “unalienable” and thus not subject to doubt, because they had been granted to mankind by the ultimate authority, the “Creator.”21 We shall see that George Soros, as he grew to maturity, would likewise reject the founders’ premise. Indeed Soros would harbor great disdain for modern-day American political figures who displayed unshakable confidence in their own culture’s nobility, and who embraced the tenets of the Declaration and the U.S. Constitution as timeless, immutable truths. To Soros, “Popper’s greatest contribution to philosophy” was his teaching that “the ultimate truth remains permanently beyond our reach.”22

Soros, his foundation and their affiliates promote and advance a radical, progressive agenda that seeks to destabilize legitimate governments, erase national borders and identities, target conservative politicians, finance civil unrest, subvert institutions of higher education, and orchestrate refugee crises for political gain. The Soros network is engaged in an active and ongoing effort to affect politics, economics, and societies in Europe (Albania, Macedonia, Romania, Hungary), Latin America (Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico), and across the globe. Judicial Watch has successfully investigated and litigated to document the paper trail left by the OSF network as it operates, at taxpayer expense, to subvert and manipulate the sovereignty of constitutional republics and allies of the United States.

 

The Soros operations are highly sophisticated and multi-faceted, working across academia; the courts; labor and agriculture; “social justice” organizations; religious associations; and, of course, political groups. OSF operations also utilize U.S.-based non- profit organizations to further their agenda. Key personnel in the Soros/OSF network (and their affiliates) are former U.S. government officials capable of leveraging their government status and access to benefit the OSF’s progressive goals.

 

Judicial Watch will continue to investigate and litigate to obtain evidence that we will analyze as we pursue additional lines of inquiry concerning Soros and the Open Society Foundations around the world and, in particular, the United States.

Background and Context

 

The Open Society Foundations’ mission is to: “… work to build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people.”1

 

The OSF, and its subsidiaries and affiliates, are subsidized with U.S. taxpayer money, totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Senior U.S. government officials have leveraged their positions for post-government employment with OSF programs, sometimes seeking taxpayer funding for the very same specialties, functions and regions that involved their government employment.

 

It is important to contextualize the operations and financing of the Open Society Foundations. A year ago, Soros took dramatic action to step up his leftist political activities. As reported by the Wall Street Journal on October 17, 2017, Soros transferred $18 billion to his Open Society Foundation:

 

“The pioneer of hedge-fund investing has transferred the bulk of his wealth to Open Society Foundations”

“Open Society today has a broad mandate driven largely by its founder’s values. It operates through a network of more than 40 foundations and offices in countries from Afghanistan to South Africa.

 

Mr. Soros has urged developed countries in Europe and elsewhere to share the burden of increased migration from conflict-ridden countries [conflict, it appears, Soros groups help foment]. Anti- Soros politicians in Macedonia, Poland and some other European countries have attacked foreign-funded groups, including Open Society, for what they see as outside interference in their affairs.”2

 

Three years before this massive transfer of wealth to the Open Society Foundation, Inside Philanthropy reported:3

 

“The Open Society Foundations is bigger than you think. In fact, it may be the largest philanthropic organization ever built, with branches in 37 countries.  While the Gates Foundation spends more money, OSF has a larger footprint worldwide thanks to its many local offices, including throughout Africa.  OSF’s budget will be around $930 million this year—which is substantially more than Ford’s [Foundation] total grantmaking.”

 

One might reasonably wonder why U.S. taxpayers would be asked to fund the activities of such a wealthy, sophisticated, highly politicized, “philanthropic” organization.

 

In 2018, OSF projected expending $537,000,000 in grants and program funding throughout the world.4 The 2018 OSF budget exceeds $1 billion. While the OSF’s self- professed goals of strengthening the rule of law, supporting democratically elected governments, promoting fairness in political, legal, and economic systems, and safeguarding fundamental rights may seem innocuous – or even noble – the reality is far different. Soros promotes a radical left agenda. In the United States, this has included:

 

  • Promoting an open border with Mexico and fighting immigration enforcement efforts;5

 

  • Fomenting racial disharmony by funding anti-capitalist racialist organizations;6

 

  • Financing the Black Lives Matter movement and other organizations involved in the riots in Ferguson, Missouri;7

 

  • Weakening the integrity of our electoral systems;8

 

  • Promoting taxpayer funded abortion-on-demand;9

 

  • Advocating a government-run health care system;10

 

  • Opposing U.S. counterterrorism efforts;11

 

  • Promoting dubious transnational climate change agreements that threaten American sovereignty;12 and,

 

  • Working to promote gun control and erode Second Amendment protections.13

 

The Soros foundations funded the liberal think tank Center for American Progress (CAP) (founded by former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, who remains on the CAP Board of Directors14), and the related 501c(4) CAP Action Fund to the sum of $1.835 million dollars in 2016 and 2017.15 OSF program strategy documents describe CAP as an “anchor” grantee of the organization.16 The current President of CAP, Neera Tanden, was Policy Director of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, and domestic policy director for the Obama campaign. Additional CAP Board members include Tom Steyer and Sen. Tom Daschle.17

 

Soros foundations also funded the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and its related entities, and Democratic voter turnout initiatives. In 2003, Soros described defeating President George W. Bush as, “the central focus of my life,” and donated more than $15 million to anti-Bush organizations and efforts.18 At the January 2018 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Soros attacked President Trump and described him as a “danger to the world.”19

 

Similarly, in Europe, Soros and his foundations have sought to erase national borders and identities,20 targeted conservative politicians,21 financed civil unrest,22 infiltrated institutions of higher education,23 and orchestrated a massive refugee crisis24 that will leave the continent forever changed.25

 

Judicial Watch has filed four lawsuits in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia directly related to uncovering the facts about the global Soros-funded network of left-wing activist groups – what Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban calls Soros’ “Mercenary Army”26 – organized in part through the Soros Open Society Foundation and his East West Management Institute. The documents uncovered by Judicial Watch through a series of lawsuits reveal that the Obama administration turned over key State Department activities to George Soros’ OSF. Judicial Watch reporting suggests the Deep State continues to be aligned with Soros as career and holdover State Department officials in countries such as Albania, Colombia, Guatemala, Macedonia and Romania help OSF push its radical agenda.

One should be suspicious that an event billed as something that covers Islam and builds meaningful relationships and excludes non-Muslims except pro-multiculturalist Mainstream Media (MSM). Here is the reason that red flag suspicion should be waving as in red alert.

 

The Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR is a radical Islamic organization with ties to the Jew-hating terrorist organization Hamas and transnational parent Islamist Muslim Brotherhood (aka Ikhwan) in Egypt. The Salafist Muslim doctrines of the Muslim Brotherhood (See Also HERE) very closely akin to the Saudi version of Radical Islam of the Wahhabis.

CAIR and its affiliate local chapters are Radical Muslims pretending to be peaceful Moderate Muslim civil rights activists. These guys support Islamic terrorists by stealth and are promoters of turning the USA into a Sharia dominated nation ending the Rights and Liberty inherent in the U.S. Constitution.

 

CAIR is the best known cog in this machine of deceit formed under the direction of the Muslim Brotherhood. CAIR and a number of other Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas organizations sprang up in the USA with one agenda – to infiltrate and transform America away from the Constitutional rights established by our Founding Fathers. Here are some excerpts relating to this Islamic nefarious agenda from a Pamela Geller article I found at Breitbart:

 

The Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and seven other terror-tied groups have announced the formation of the US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), which they describe as an umbrella group that will serve as a “representative voice for Muslims as that faith community seeks to enhance its positive impact on society.”

 

What kind of presence is the USCMO going to have on the American political scene? Investor’s Business Daily noted that “USCMO also aims to elect Islamists in Washington, with the ultimate objective of ‘institutionalizing policies’ favorable to Islamists — that is, Shariah law.”

 

The coalition is made up, by and large, of the same groups that were named as Muslim Brotherhood proxies and unindicted co-conspirators in the largest terrorist funding trial in our nation’s history. They are well-funded, and could very well upend the political landscape, much as they have the corrupted academia.

 

Muslim Brotherhood groups forming this new “coalition” include the Muslim American Society (MAS), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), the notorious Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Circle of North American (ICNA), the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA), the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA) and the Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA).

 

The idea of the USCMO is to “allow the larger Muslim community to better participate in our nation’s political process.” The rhetoric is slick and deceptive. These groups work towards norming jihad and sharia in America. Many of the Muslim groups in this newly formed organization, including MAS and ICNA, as well as the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was the parent group of CAIR, were identified as allied organizations of the Muslim Brotherhood in a captured internal Brotherhood document that came to light during the trial of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), an Islamic charity that was shut down for funding Hamas.

The government memorandum explains that “shortly after Hamas was founded in 1987, as an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood, Govt. Exh. 21-61, the International Muslim Brotherhood ordered the Muslim Brotherhood chapters throughout the world to create Palestine Committees, whose job it was to support Hamas with ‘media, money and men.’” To accomplish this, the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. created the U.S. Palestine Committee, which CAIR later joined. “The mandate of these organizations, per the International Muslim Brotherhood, was to support Hamas, and the HLF’s particular role was to raise money to support Hamas’s organizations inside the Palestinian territories.”

 

The USCMO is the stealth jihad on steroids. MAS and ICNA, as well as the IAP, were listed as among those organizations dedicated to the Muslim Brotherhood’s stated goal of “eliminating and destroying the Western Civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over other religions.”

 

It is clear that the USCMO will vehemently oppose Israel and every measure that may ever be proposed or implemented to increase our national security. They will demonize and vilify everyone who speaks the truth about jihad terrorism and calls for genuine reform and honest counter-terror action from Muslim leaders. They will work to stifle and destroy the freedom of speech and to criminalize all criticism of Islam, including counter-terror analysis.

So if you have not gotten the picture yet. CAIR is a nefarious anti-American and Anti-Constitution organization determined to use stealth measures to undermine our current government system. My only question is: How long will this agenda be stealth, transforming into a Bill Ayers-type violent agenda to undermine the U.S. government and the American way of life?

 

If you are a Christian or a Jew supporting Israel’s right to exist, you will not be welcome to St Louis-CAIR media event to ask the tough questions. If you are a Constitutional Originalist, you will not be welcome at the St Louis-CAIR media event to ask the tough questions. So what should you do?

 

Find like-minded people and protest on a public side-walk exercising your First Amendment Right of Free Speech and Right to peaceable assemble to protest the deception CAIR which more than likely includes the local chapter in St Louis.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) ST. Louis is holding a media event on July 23, 2014 at The Seven Gables Inn in St. Louis, Missouri.  The CAIR St. Louis web page states the following regarding the event.

Here’s why many American’s are concerned about CAIR’s history and agenda:

 

·         Omar Ahmad, Chairman and founder of the Council on American Islamic Relations, told a Muslim crowd Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.   At the Islamic Association of Palestine’s third annual convention in Chicago in November 1999, Omar Ahmad gave a speech at a youth session praising suicide bombers who kill themselves for Islam.  Fighting for freedom, fighting for Islam — that is not suicide. They kill themselves for Islam, he said.

 

·         Nihad Awad, CAIR Executive Director, said I am in support of the Hamas movement.

 

·         Mustafa Carroll, executive director of the Dallas-Fort Worth CAIR branch, told a crowd at a Muslim rally in Austin, Texas in 2013 If we are practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land.

 

·         CAIR pressured the FBI in June 2013 to stop their Most Wanted advertising campaign which helped the FBI gain information regarding the whereabouts of dangerous terrorists.  The list of CAIR officials who have made apologetic comments in the public regarding terrorists is quite extensive.

 

·         The Council on American Islamic Relations is vigorously fighting bills in twenty state legislatures that would prohibit courts from considering provisions of foreign laws including Sharia if they are inconsistent with the United States and state constitutions.  Sharia law is antithetical to the rights and liberties afforded under the United States Constitution.

 

·         Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR’s Texas chapter, in 2009 received a 65-year prison sentence for funneling over $12 million from the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation to the jihad terrorist group Hamas, which is responsible for murdering hundreds of Israeli civilians.

 

·         Mousa Abu Marzook, a former CAIR official, was in 1995 designated by the U.S. government in 1995 as a “terrorist and Hamas leader.” He now is a Hamas leader in Syria.

 

·         Randall Royer, CAIR’s former civil rights coordinator, in 2004 began serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding al-Qaida and the Taliban against American troops in Afghanistan and recruiting for Lashkar e-Taiba, the jihadist group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai jihad massacres.

 

·         Bassem Khafagi, CAIR’s former community relations director, was arrested for involvement with the Islamic Assembly of North America, which was linked to al-Qaida. After pleading guilty to visa and bank fraud charges, Khafagi was deported.

 

·         Rabih Haddad, a former CAIR fundraiser, was deported for his work with the Global Relief Foundation (which he co-founded), a terror-financing organization.

 

·         CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case–so named by the Justice Department during the HLF trial.

 

Americans who are concerned about CAIR’s history and agenda have the First Amendment Right to complain about this event and choose hoteliers who do not give place to the same.  Florida Family Association’s online campaigns have influenced the policies of other hoteliers regarding such events.

Unnecessary Const Rights Prohibited

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,  against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. (Amendment IV – U.S. Constitution)

 

I have been a huge supporter of the Patriot Act (Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001) due to the reason that this law came into existence; viz. an Islamic terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 (911) on American soil that resulted in the deaths of about 5,000 people. To the extent that the Patriot Act is a tool to examine foreign activity that results in the nefarious acts of terrorism or is a supply line monetarily to foreign terrorism is something I still support. The key is the term “foreign.”

 

Since 911 the Islamic terrorist paradigm has an adaptive agenda to circumvent the nature of “foreign” as related to the American Homeland. Foreign Radical Islamic global Caliphate-minded Muslims have been working for years to plant their theopolitical ideology as a homegrown paradigm. The more homegrown a Radical Islamic organization or Mosque the less the claim of ties to foreign terrorism. Currently most Islamic organizations in the USA can be traced to a foreign Saudi or Muslim Brotherhood hand in a large degree. There are actually lesser known Radical Islamic organizations associated with foreign Islamic terrorism that are not Saudi or Muslim Brotherhood; however it is less likely that those organization will separate from their parent foreign Radical Islamic connection. Inevitably the Radical Islamic homegrown planted organizations will attain a self-sufficient operation independent of foreign ties. When that happens use of the Patriot Act laws would legally be ineffective to monitor domestic criminality and will be subject to the traditional ingrained Constitutional framework of the Fourth Amendment that protects Americans from unwarranted searches of private property including snail-mail, email, telephone, Internet and so on. A Radical Muslim network divorced from their foreign founders will essentially operate mafia-style to Islamize America using the U.S. Constitution to terminate Constitutional Law in favor of Sharia Law.

 

I am certain the Patriot Act has been abused by stretching the reach of its mandate in protecting Americans from foreign terrorism. The Patriot Act must be updated to better accommodate the Fourth Amendment especially on a domestic level. For one thing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) needs more precise language so that relating information, broad undefined information or just plain no defined information cannot be used to acquire a FISA Court Search Warrant. The lack of specificity in legal language has made the marriage of the Patriot Act and the FISA Courts a Law Enforcement and Intelligence Agencies, a paradigm of an abuse-of-power waiting to happen. Such abuse is in direct violation of the Fourth Amendment. If Congress fails to add specificity in the Patriot Act and the Courts based on FISA, then those tools need to be scraped OR just plain be ruled unconstitutional due to the Fourth Amendment.

 

The ability of the devotees of Radical Islam to use the Constitution to undermine the Constitution is a reason for some kind of Surveillance Act on a foreign and domestic level to exist. In the past I have favored Security to trump Civil Rights directly in the aftermath of 911; however it has become evident the truism of ‘power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely’ has swayed me back to emphasize Civil Rights. Again, I am still a supporter of the Patriot Act, BUT not as it is codified today. There must be a balance in the use of security and Civil Rights with any erring to come down on the side of constitutionally mandated Civil Rights. Check out Judge Andrew Napolitano:

The case or controversy requirement demands that there be real adversity between two or more distinct entities each of which has a stake in the outcome of a dispute before a federal court can exercise any jurisdiction. Federal courts can only resolve disputes; they cannot rule with finality in the abstract or when approached by only one party. They can grant preliminary temporary relief to one party — in order to freeze the status quo and in anticipation of an adversarial contest on the merits — but they cannot rule when only one party is noticed and shows up.

 

This is precisely how the FISA court functions, and yet we have no merit-based ruling by the Supreme Court on its constitutionality. …

 

But this is just what Congress did with FISA. In the FISA court, only the government appears, seeking a generalized search warrant without regard to the facts of any specific case. There is no case or controversy in the constitutional sense as there is no adversariness: No plaintiff is suing a defendant, and no defendant is being prosecuted by the government. Absent adversariness, the federal courts have no jurisdiction to do anything.

 

This flawed system is complicated even further by the fact that should the FISA court deny an application for a general warrant because it believes the government’s procedures to be illegal or unconstitutional, those court orders are non-binding and the government has ignored them. Unenforceable rulings that may be disregarded by another branch of the government are not judicial decisions at all, but impermissible advisory opinions prohibited by the Framers.

 

When a FISA court judge rules that the NSA has the constitutional power to spy on Americans about whom it has no evidence of wrongdoing, as one judge did two weeks ago, because that ruling did not emanate out of a case or controversy — no one was in court to dispute it — the court is without authority to hear the matter, and thus the ruling is meaningless.

 

By altering the constitutionally mandated requirement of the existence of a case or controversy before the jurisdiction of the federal courts may be invoked, Congress has lessened the protection of the right to be left alone that the Framers intentionally sought to enshrine. But don’t expect the government to wake up to this threat to our freedom. Its consistent behavior has demonstrated that it doesn’t care whether it violates the Constitution. Marxist principles as espoused by Russia’s Lenin and Stalin and China’s Mao Zedong (or Mao Tse Tung) is a Communism that overthrows the government by means of a transforming ideological revolution. Early American Communists were enamored by Lenin’s revolution that overthrew Czarist Russia that transformed Russia into the illusory delusion of a utopia. The reality is Russia was transformed from an elitist oligarchy of nobles in which huge amounts of citizens were regarded in low estate into a Leninist-Communist oligarchy of top-down transformist police state. In Russia’s case the removal of a royal oligarchic autocracy to a Communist dictatorship did not produce individual Civil Rights. Conformity was the centrality of Russian culture under the Czars and the new Communist government. That Russian Revolution which affected American Constitutional government was the desire of Russian/Soviet Marxists to export their transformational revolution to the entire world. In America’s case too many closet Communists became a part of positions of influence in both government and culture.

 

Senator Joseph McCarthy in the beginnings of the Cold War went from a hero exposing Communists and/or Soviet-Communist sympathizers in these places of influence to being painted as a nut-job witch-hunter that ruined lives more than protecting the government and Americans from Marxist transformationism. History has shown that Joe McCarthy was closer to being correct than being a witch hunter that destroyed innocent lives. Bipartisan powerful politicians and Executive Branch Establishment-minded leadership began to fear the stigma of hiring Communist sympathizing functionaries. A Left oriented Mainstream Media sympathetic to a Socialist paradigm also began assaulting McCarthy. A better a truism might drove McCarthy to alcoholism thus ruining a patriot’s life.

 

There are bad people who desire to destroy America and our way of life initiated in the great experiment of a Constitutional Republic initiated by our Founding Fathers. The primary assault on America in the 20th and 21st centuries has been interpretations of Marxism and Caliphate-minded Muslims. We as Americans need to get behind some kind of balance between National Security and Constitutional protections we call our Civil Rights. Since 911 the government has evolved from a protective nature to ignoring the Rights ingrained in the U.S. Constitution. I believe government abuse caused by a misplaced enthusiasm to hunt down Islamic Terrorists (I guess our fearless leader would call them Enemy Combatants). That government abuse has filtered into policing domestic criminals such as thieves, bank robbers, various levels illicit drug distribution, murderers and so on.

 

Domestic policing ALSO has led to ignoring the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment pertaining warranting search, seizure and attacking personal property. Yesterday I managed to get to an old email from the Rutherford Institute written by John W. Whitehead. The email begins by relating true incidents in which police have erroneously invaded homes of innocent citizens which resulted in deaths. I am not talking about police officer deaths. I am talking about police officers shooting to death citizens who believed their home was being invaded by criminals.

 

And this is how I am going to end my thoughts on the Fourth Amendment. Read Whitehead’s article and be prepared to be outraged by the abuse of power.

Samson Simon Sharaf and Pakistani Christian Patriotism

Shamim Masih writes a praise essay on Samson Simon Sharaf (Below My Thoughts) a retired Brigadier General from the Pakistan army. The impressive rarity about Sharaf is that he is a Pakistani Christian. This means Sharaf has achieved a high level in Islamic Supremacist Pakistan.

 

I Googled the Brigadier General to read some info that Shamim may not have provided. Sharaf is a prolific writer. He is a promoter of the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) which is a political party that showed strength outside of two other political parties that have dominated Pakistan politics – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N). Here is another blog with an odd name that has some pro-PTI information.

 

I have found that Pakistani Christians are typically intensely loyal patriots of Pakistan. Even after all the persecution they have received in matters of Pakistan patriotism Pakistani Christians will bristle up their back at perceived foreign enemies. The PTI is a centrist political party that seems to combine the promotion of an Islamic democracy mingled with a bit of socialism. Their appeal is based on the plank of uniting all aspects of Pakistan society under fairness rather than exploitation and corruption. The party’s leader is Imran Khan. Sharaf seems to have a close relationship with Khan. Under Khan’s leadership which has the support of the retired Brigadier General, PTI wants to dump the USA as a partner and make peace with the AFPAK Taliban. Khan feels that being embroiled with America’s war on terror has brought dysfunction to Pakistan society.

Shamim Masih identifies Sharaf as a Christian, yet Sharaf’s Facebook about page under Basic Information lists his religious views as “My own”. I am not so convinced that Samson Simon Sharaf is a committed Christian. I sense his Christianity is of a secular nature at best or of a dhimmi to Islam at worst. Or like a lot of Pakistanis Sharaf is Pakistan patriot like many Pakistani Christians. That is a mystery to me.

ISLAMABAD: Z A Bhutto is seen as a visionary leader with an enduring mark on Pakistan’s policy. Amongst his accomplishments are China, Afghan Policy, Nationalisation, Nuclear Program and convening of the Islamic Summit in Lahore. To co-opt the religious right in his global and domestic agenda, he nationalized minorities’ institutions depriving them of the oasis in which they thrived. According to one account, he remarked on the Christian protests against nationalization ‘If they do not behave, I will force them to wear black cloths’. Some Pakistani Christian leaders still believe him and follow him as great leader. Amazing!

 

The 1973 constitution institutionalized political isolation of religious minorities, taken a step further by the military dictator Zia ul Haq. He added discriminatory laws and introduced religious and sectarian divides that nation seems helpless to undo.

 

Though another military dictator Gen. Musharaf reintroduced the Joint Electorate, through an inconclusive selection system, he handed over charge of minority parliamentarians to party leaders in violation of Article 226 of the constitution. Successive constitutional amendments under the Zardri government have deprived religious minorities of whatever little voice they had in the federal government. As expediency with the opposition, he snatched the only representation “Ministry for Minority Affairs”.

 

Pakistani Christians have played a vital role in the development of the country. Since independence, we have given talented people to the country through the education institutions. This apart, we have Christian role models in every field of national life.  A few meriting mention are Samuel Martin Burke, Justice (R) A. R. Cornelius, Group Captain (R) Cecil Chaudhry and Wing Commander Mervyns Middle cote (Shaheed). Pakistani Christians are proud of them and many more whose names I have not mentioned.

 

Unfortunately most emerging Christian leaders have fallen victims to their ambitions and prefer to be around party leaders than their people. Yet there has been one who works for the cause of his country and community with no personal ambitions.

 

Last week, I chanced to represent Christians in a local TV Channel talk show. I tried my best to highlight the plight of the Christians but a Christian politician in the show disappointed me. His demeanor and manner were negative and appeasing; avoiding burning issues and takes the bull by the horns. I was left wondering that if he with his unique style of politics cannot straight talk, what about others who are made of a lesser mettle than him.  The fact is that Pakistani Christian politicians are a disappointment at large seeking seats and appeasing their parties at the cost of their people. In this absconding and unpredictable pitch I recently met a man who can play to win for his people selflessly.

 

Brigadier (R) Samson Simon Sharaf is a retired one-star general officer of Pakistan Army and a ground combater. He heads St. Mary’s College Rawalpindi, a Roman Catholic Institution of Higher Education providing world class professional education as also catering to Christian Boys and Girls, fallen through cracks due to socio-economic disadvantages.

 

He appears unassuming at a first glance and only an objective discourse can bring the best out of him.  His eyes brighten and arguments become passionate. He quotes from history, literature and current affairs to discuss issues faced by the country and its minority communities. He is apt, straight and minces no words to call spade a spade.

 

He is perhaps the only Christian officer who has served in the Military Operations Directorate at GHQ in the post 1971 era. This is an organization that needs the highest levels of security clearance. He has handled one of Pakistan’s most prestigious and guarded Nuclear Policy. Later, he volunteered to reform the Army Public Education System and raised the prestigious Army Public College of Management and Sciences. As recognition of his services in Human Resource Development, the government of Pakistan rewarded him with a commendation and Sitata e Imtiaz. He trained both in Pakistan and abroad and is seen as a role model by officers of Pakistan Army.

 

He is pedigree stuff.  His father Lal Din Sharaf Sargodhavi worked with Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah whose pictures he proudly hangs in his office, and this is where his inspiration and character come from.  Despite being qualified in security and nuclear strategy, he prefers to call himself a Political Economist, the robe of a modern strategist. This is an area in which he has been writing for the past six years with remarkable accuracy, insight and foresight. Had the military heard his cries in the wild, Pakistan would have been a different country today. Rather than exhibit an elastic conscience, he chose to suffer for his convictions and fade away as a soldier.

 

His humility and candour dispels the impression of a military officers used to ordering. He displays humility and firmness crucial to win hearts and minds. As I sat in his simple and workmanlike Rector’s office laden with latest books and where visitors kept coming and going, I realized that I was encountering a person par excellence.  He had a human angle to every issue and displayed the ability to be a good listener. In between, he was in touch with his military colleagues, dishing out wisdom. I was surprised that he has not drawn his salary for four years and diverted the finances for the development of the institution he heads.  To cover his expenses, his daughter runs his water treatment and telecom business while he devotes his time to his passion for community service and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf. He is the elected Central Secretary Defence of his party. This is where he sees a bright future for Pakistan and its non-Muslims.

 

I have read over a hundred of his recent articles from politics to international affairs, WOT, political economy and nuclear issues. Having met him in his office and home, I could humbly affirm him a “living legend”.

 

His personal study at his house is a room with books lying all around with his trophies and mementos hanging on walls. There is a wall size poster of Pakistan’s 3rd Highest Mountain with his ice axe and snow boots hanging by the side. It is then I learnt that he was also a high altitude mountaineer, climbed Gashebrum1 (8068M) and enjoys desert rallies. He is the first Pakistani to have cross country traversed Pakistan’s most inhospitable Nara Desert in summer heat. He has also climbed Mont Blanc in France and made free fall jumps with a parachute. He still hikes and plays golf and tennis.

 

I was surprised to know that since 2005, he has been personally present at every trouble spot of Christians and worked unobserved to resolve issues. He does not claim credit and attributes his accomplishments to the work of God.

 

He hates to call himself a politician and claims to be a reformer. Within PTI, he has an impressive following particularly overseas Pakistan’s who keep calling him with their ideas. As a political leader, he prefers to work in the mainstream rather than take the easy and exclusive option of minorities. Yet, he has made enduring contributions to the party constitution on minority rights and Balochistan.

 

Samson Simon Sharaf is both a dreamer and a doer and a befitting person to become the voice of religious minorities in Pakistan.
