Daniel Gladstein had two comments to Norma Zager’s submission “What Me Worry?” (on the NCCR blog) of which the first I was not on board with but the second I thought might deserve some consideration.

The theme of the first comment grouped the Christian Right and Jewish Zionist supporters of the existence of Israel with the same methodology as Islamists, violent Marxists and White Supremacists as one and the same. I did not concur as I explained in these thoughts:

Daniel attaching the Christian Right to Nazis, Leftists, Islamists, the Far Right (I am guessing this would be all forms of white supremacists), Zionist Jews and probably more extremists as simply divergent aspects but the same methodology is not something I concur with. Although there might be a small fraction of the Christian Right that condone violence of any means as a methodology to achieve an end, that small fraction is in NO WAY representative of the entire Christian Right that simply desire a government that doesn’t endorse immorality as a norm, does not force the issue of accepting the practices of an immoral lifestyle and supports the existence of a Jewish State. Admittedly the Christian Right supports the existence of a Jewish State for different reasons than Leftist Jews, Right Wing Jews and Observant Jews. The Christian Right sees the return of Israel as a sign of the times of the soon return of the Messiah King Jesus who will heal whatever divides Jews and Christians on the view point on who the Biblical Messiah is. Jewish Zionists of both sides of the political spectrum view the Jewish State as the restoration of a lost heritage as a place to live without government sponsored persecution of Jews whether secular or religious. Israeli Jews even disagree among themselves of how Israel should be constituted depending on the political spectrum of Left, Right, Secular or religiously observant. However, all Israeli Jews believe Israel must exist for Jews.

So anyway, grouping the Christian Right and Jewish Zionists in toto with Islamists, White Supremacists, Leftist violent extremists and so on is a bit of a bad judgement in my opinion. Otherwise after pondering your other points, including your “deep state” thoughts in your following comment is quite deserving of introspective pondering.

However, I thought his “deep state” thoughts of the second comment might be deserving of some contemplation. Now to add some thought dwelling to Daniel’s second comment I had to look-up what the “deep state” might signify. I went to Wikipedia for a definition:

Deep State - Shadow Govt

Deep state

For other uses, see State within a state.

The deep state (Turkishderin devlet) is alleged to be a group of influential anti-democratic coalitions within the Turkish political system, composed of high-level elements within the intelligence services (domestic and foreign), Turkish military, security, judiciary, and mafia.[1][2] The notion of deep state is similar to that of a “state within the state“. For those who believe in its existence, the political agenda of the deep state involves an allegiance to nationalismcorporatism, and state interests. Violence and other means of pressure have historically been employed in a largely covert manner to manipulate political and economic elites and ensure specific interests are met within the seemingly democratic framework of the political landscape.[3][4] Former president Süleyman Demirel says that the outlook and behavior of the (predominantly military) elites who constitute the deep state, and work to uphold national interests, are shaped by an entrenched belief, dating to the fall of the Ottoman Empire, that the country is always “on the brink”.[5]

The ideology of the deep state is seen by leftists as being anti-worker or ultra-nationalist; by Islamists as being anti-Islamic and secularist; by ethnic Kurds as being anti-Kurdish, and by liberal democrats as anti-democratic and anti-liberal.[6]As pointed out by former prime minister Bülent Ecevit, the diversity of opinion reflects a disagreement over what constitutes the deep state.[7] One explanation is that the “deep state” is not an alliance, but the sum of several groups that antagonistically work behind the scenes, each in pursuit of its own agenda.[8][9][10]Another explanation refutes the reduction of the deep state to an interest network and defines it as a type of domination based on the high military autonomy levels that enable the security apparatus to disrupt formal democratic institutions (in the foreground) by employing a sui generis repertoire of informal institutions (in the background), i.e. putsch threat, autocratic cliques, mafia, organized crime and corruption.[11] Rumours of the deep state have been widespread in Turkey since Ecevit’s term as prime minister in the 1970s, after his revelation of the existence of a Turkish counterpart to Italy’s Operation Gladio, the “Counter-Guerrilla“.[12][13]

Many Turks, including elected politicians, have stated their belief that the “deep state” exists.[14][15]

More recently, the term ‘deep state’ has been used to describe politics in other nations including Egypt[16] and the United States.[17]

READ THE REST (Deep state; Wikipedia; page was last modified on 7 July 2016, at 19:13.)

So the author of the above Wikipedia article uses the now extinct Ottoman Empire which was replaced by the secular republic of Turkey as platform for the existence of shadow governments within various major powers of the present. Then the Wikipedia author goes into the details of the Turkish evolution of this Deep State apparatus,

There is little elaboration of Deep State operations in various other nations such as the USA. Nevertheless, it is not a big stretch that there is an insinuation of a coalition Deep State entities globally that wheel and deal clandestine agreements and rivalries outside the structure of the rule of law. To what purpose? To leverage global domination for the winners.

Armed with this info you should tackle Daniel Gladstein’s thoughts in his second comment.

The relationship between the Pakistani ISI and the CIA during the Soviet–Afghan War (1979–92) and the ensuing civil war (1992–2001) illustrates the delicate balance between cooperative competitors that nevertheless view each other, or at least one side, as a credulous enemy to be deceived and exploited, ostensibly for the stated purposes of anti-Soviet coordination, but actually for divergent goals. The CIA funneled aid to ISI and its Saudi allies, which in turn employed favored groups, namely Sunni (and especially Arab rather than Afghan) Islamists, as anti-Soviet proxies. However, the real goal of these Islamists, especially the Arab “volunteers,” was to usurp the credibility of their anti-Soviet rivals, who were often more capable fighters, came from ethnic minorities rather than the Pashtun tribes, and, like all Afghans, were non-Arabs. Despite this, the CIA and ISI tapped the Islamists, in particular for drug-running operations and opium production.

The CIA-, ISI-, and Saudi-favored groups accrued more aid and weaponry, including surface-to-air missiles, than their competitors did, yet did less fighting over a shorter period. The Arab “volunteers,” in particular, saw the U.S., Israel, and the al-Saud family, rather than the Soviets, as their main enemies. These “volunteers” later formed the initial core of al-Qaeda, which, through its links to wealthy patrons, had extensive financial and ideological links to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood, while Sunni, was tied to the unorthodox Shiite ideology of the Ayatollah Khomeini, who sought an alliance with Sunni Arabs to ensure Iranian hegemony in the Middle East. (It should be noted that, early in the Iranian Revolution, Khomeini and his domestic allies, both Islamist and radical leftist, saw the Soviets as a potential ally against U.S.-backed Sunni regimes—and a weapon to overthrow the U.S.-led order in the Middle East.)

Khomeini was a visionary revolutionist who envisaged an Islamist coalition to co-opt secular leftists and unite under the banner of anti-Americanism, anti-Zionism, and anti-imperialism. This goal would find ready recipients in Yasser Arafat’s secular PLO, non-aligned but revolutionary Marxist states like Castro’s Cuba (and its late ally, Hugo Chávez’s Venezuela), the unstable Stalinist regime of East Germany, and Soviet clients like Gaddafi’s Libya, which sponsored pan-African, anti-colonialist, and anti-apartheid movements. These were often anti-Zionist and were generally tied to ostensibly progressive elements in the Western New Left, including radical, Maoist-inspired communists. (All these elements, including the radical leftist MEK [which later became a CIA/Iraqi proxy in the Iran–Iraq War], may have aided Khomeini’s faction in the takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran.)

Thus the Muslim Brotherhood/al-Qaeda milieu, which derived its ideology from far-right fascist movements rather than traditional Islam, aimed to amass the forces of the left, the apostate Shiites (now reformed under the unorthodox, pro-Sunni Khomeini), and the KGB and its global allies. Their aim was nothing less than the total destruction of the U.S., Israel, and the existing regional order. The Muslim world, formerly diverse, would be Arabized and homogenized under the guide of the Muslim Brotherhood and its allies, which would include both the Soviet and Western blocs. Once the Brotherhood’s global order was established, it would dispense with the ostensibly leftist elements, their usefulness in destroying the West (and the old Muslim world) exhausted. However, in the meantime, its role in polarizing the world by intervening in and fostering local conflicts would be indispensable, and could be readily exploited by an opportunistic but nominally opposing side.

Note that the U.S. deep state and its allies would play an indispensable role in fostering and exploiting its ostensible enemies. The heterogeneity of the forces at work would indicate numerous centers of power, colluding with each other where interests overlap but ultimately aiming to destroy or control the other. The continual appearance of links between ostensibly “conservative,” and avowed far-right, U.S. deep-state constituents and far-left anti-Western forces, as well as the considerable overlap in their views and aims, is too pervasive to attribute to mere coincidence, especially given each side’s ties to global finance, including the public sphere (i.e., banks, leading financial and political institutions, universities, NGOs) and the underworld drug/arms networks, which utilize fronts and false paper or electronic trails to avoid scrutiny, much less a full uncovering of their activities.

An example is the milieu of James J. Angleton, CIA counterintelligence director, who knowingly recruited KGB double agents to spread disinformation that would serve both Soviet and U.S. deep-state hardliners, whose shared interest was to further the Cold War, which Angleton likely calculated would benefit his (ultimately anti-American and nominally anticommunist) right-wing Mafia, Teamster, and drug-running connections, all of which were organically linked to fascist, Nazi, and neo-Nazi elements in post-war Europe, East Asia, and Latin America. (Note that many of these right-wing elements were associated with stay-behind networks established by NATO and Western intelligence, as part of Operation GLADIO, an early Cold-War effort to foster local anti-Soviet forces in the event of a Soviet military incursion into Western Europe and the Mediterranean. These forces soon strayed beyond their masters’ intentions, became enmeshed in local and regional political structures, and pursued their own interests through the drugs-and-arms milieu, often while under the patronage of both Western and Soviet-allied intelligence agencies.)

Note that elements of the CIA and its right-wing GOP allies have patronized “former” KGB-linked Marxist-Leninists turned Revisionist Zionists [i.e., in the right-wing, fascist-leaning Jabotinsky mold] within the Russian Jewish émigré community in Israel. These “defectors” were tapped as CIA assets with access to CIA-favored elites within the Soviet bureaucracy, who in turn would serve as dependable U.S. assets in a post-Soviet Russia, thereby benefiting the U.S. deep state’s economic interests. They would also form the nucleus of the CIA-assisted takeover of the State of Israel by the CIA-favored Netanyahu faction within Likud. They became favorites of the neoconservative WASP elite, its allies in the military-industrial-intelligence complex, and its far-right affiliates in the U.S. and abroad. One example of the neoconservative–communist nexus can be seen in the actions of Oliver North and Shackley, who were deeply involved, as were anti-Obama GOP rightists who coordinated their activities with Iranian hardliners, in treasonous activities with ostensible U.S. enemies.

North and Shackley, among others, likely worked with drug-laundering Saudi and Pakistani intelligence, and operated partly through the Safari Club, in what were likely joint Western/Soviet intelligence operations promoting Khomeini to power in Iran, supporting Iranian proxies like Hezbollah, and orchestrating the hostage crisis to beset President Carter (the so-called “October Surprise”). North, Shackley, and their allies hoped to benefit Western, especially British, multinational oil corporations by ousting the friendly Shah when his opposition to a deal, like Mossadegh’s in 1953, became inconvenient. (The BBC aired the British government’s unstated official policy by broadcasting Khomeini’s virulently anti-Shah and anti-Western speeches while he was still in exile.) Indeed, North and Shackley, who were both implicated in the Iran–Contra affair, were in the milieu of Israeli and other Western firms, like Halliburton, that secretly circumnavigated the official “freeze” on U.S.–Iranian ties by conducting oil (and, as we know, arms) deals with the revolutionary Khomeini regime. In return, the oil and arm transfers were covertly used to fund U.S. deep-state and Western intelligence, especially CIA, operations in sub-Saharan Africa and Central America, and probably in Afghanistan and Eastern Europe as well. These operations benefited the global arms-and-drugs milieu that the U.S. deep state and its ostensible opponents both exploited for divergent aims, though immediate goals, especially systematic (and systemic) destabilization, overlapped.

The milieu of cooperation can be seen in the formation of front companies like Far West, Ltd., which was composed of motley and seemingly irreconcilable characters: CIA operatives; KGB and GRU (Soviet military intelligence) figures who were then serving in Afghanistan; Stasi, (Cuban) DGI/G2, and (future pro-Chávez, Venezuelan) DICIP operatives; top officials from the Sunni Gulf states and Saudi Arabia as well as Pakistan; Chinese executives who ran shell companies to arm the Afghan mujahideen; and corporate figures from various Western companies. Other states on each side of the Iron Curtain, such as South Africa and Libya, may well have been involved as well. All the players had divergent aims but shared goals.

This alliance between former Soviet Marxist-Leninists-turned-neo-Nazi (or fascist) Russian nationalists and the U.S. deep state, as we shall see, is part of a broader long-term “convergence” strategy by global elites that transcends the ideological fiction that they present to various levels of the societies that they rule internally (and influence or control externally, often for the purpose of building alliances on the basis of shared goals). The Muslim Brotherhood and Sunni takfiris are closely allied not only to Western intelligence, but also to anti-Western proxies, domestic “leftist” groups, and anti-U.S. intelligence agencies. The pro-Islamist “leftists” may in fact be provocateurs for the U.S. deep state as well as anti-U.S. forces. The groups that they inhabit or control may be infiltrated by Western intelligence agencies and their contractors, whose allies in the media, the corporate world, and societal institutions—both on the “left” and on the “right”—have either openly supported Sunni (and Iranian-linked, or Khomeini/Khamenei-type, Shiite) Islamists or marginalized secular Muslims and true progressives.

Thus the narrative is shaped by phased indoctrination through a dialectical paradigm: secularists are branded by the “right” as supporting Islamists and/or Islamic extremism (either takfiri or Shiite violence, often in the form of terrorism), while the “left” expresses overtly what the “right” does more covertly, namely, support for Islamist forces. The “left,” unlike the “right,” does so ostensibly in the name of leftist tropes like “anti-imperialism,” anti-capitalism, or anti-globalization. Its actions are explained away as an outreach to build a coalition, a strange and not coincidental echo of the U.S. GOP right’s own “ethnic outreach” (far-right identity politics) during and after World War II, which was modulated through Nazi and fascist channels that were eventually tapped for use in the Cold War, both domestically and abroad.

  1. Within the Deep State Ideology for Control of this election cycle and use BLM to paint Trumps as to racist for POTUS there is reason to believe that Hillary and Obama are working with leaders of the BLM groups to generate civil unrest , see here , https://www.dollarvigilante.com/blog/2016/07/08/jubilee-jolt-pre-planned-leaked-summer-chaos-begins-dallas.html

Obama and Hilary have already demonstrated that they will use Indefinite Detention of people that have expressed their 1st Amendment privilege , with the detention of the Video producer that they lied and said was why Benghazi happened . Here is a list of links that show how Obama has said he will work to use the Power of the Presidency to Predetermine threats and detain those who pose threats before they happen, see here, Its the Rachel Maddow Video thats most disturbing , http://beforeitsnews.com/politics/2016/03/all-armed-americans-to-be-detained-in-fema-camps-starting-in-2017-video-2785751.html , so it can be said that this Power may be used as they generate civil unrest at the conventions , and I think we should Voice our Concerns to the American People about this and tell everyone that we need to be worried about how Hillary and Obama are allegedly using people’s emotions to create the Unrest for their use of Power over Freedom of Expression and push a Limiting of Speech Rights .

It therefore would be good to inject this evidence into the Public Forum and call them out for being a Disruptive process to the Civil Discourse of our United States Republic and its people’s right to Freedom and Liberty . https://sentinelblog.com/2016/07/11/be-concerned-about-what-is-going-on-right-now-be-very-concerned/

  2. William Safire, who has CIA ties, backed the Turkish seizure of Kurdish-ruled northern Iraq to provide a base for oil exports to the EU. Note that the Barzani faction was at the time providing spurious intelligence about Saddam’s WMD programs and al-Qaeda ties. Barzani’s faction has since proven to be pro-Turkish and has collaborated with the Turks and their oil-exporting ISIS partners. Thus, Safire, keen on ensuring Western oil interests, was likely pushing for Erdogan’s intervention to prevent a more progressive, anti-foreign Kurdish faction from gaining power in a post-Saddam Iraq.

The timing of the ISIS attack on Shingal (2014) suspiciously coincided with that of Barzani’s public announcement in favor of a vote on independence. This was likely a ploy to exploit and nullify internal divisions within his party while tacitly assisting the Western-backed ISIS as a front against internal opponents. His approach also helped secure, jointly with ISIS, control over Kurdish oil reserves, which would then be exported to Turkey and EU member states, benefiting ISIS, the Erdogan clan, and Barzani’s inner circle.

Interestingly, the Quds Force, the intelligence arm of the IRGC, was never declared a terrorist entity before 2007, when it was implicated in attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq. (Shiite proxy forces and al-Qaeda, both aided by the Quds Force, were responsible for these attacks.) The IRGC, since its very inception under Khomeini, has been known to sponsor terrorism against the West. Notably, it was involved, together with its proxy Hezbollah and the PLO, in the 1982 Beirut barracks bombing, and also orchestrated numerous other terrorist attacks, such as the 1988 Lockerbie bombing and the 1994 AMIA bombing. Notably, it collaborated with al-Qaeda in the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing. The IRGC, working through Hezbollah, was behind the 1984 murder of CIA officer William Buckley and has assassinated numerous Iranians abroad.

The neoconservative WASP elite and their right-wing allies in the West, as well as former Soviet-allied and Western intelligence agencies, have had close ties to the present Iranian leadership since prior to the 1979 revolution, when evidence indicates that these elements (notably the CIA and MI6) worked to install Khomeini in power and possibly even assassinate the Shah using cancer. These elements, working through such groups as the Saudi- and Pakistani-backed Safari Club and its corporate allies, also helped bring down the Carter presidency by orchestrating the October Surprise.

The CIA, Turkish intelligence, the Israeli civilian leadership, and the Sunni Gulf states have collaborated with the Quds Force to crush leftist Kurdish forces near the Iraq–Iran border, where the CIA and Western states, notably Pakistan, also helped Saddam Hussein gas Kurdish forces, including thousands of civilians, by supplying chemical weapons during the Iran–Iraq war (1980–1989).

The rise of Erdogan and his AKP—which is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood (which includes the Gulen orbit), its al-Qaeda allies, and pan-Turkic Sunni Islamists—can likely be traced to CIA and other Western assistance for right-wing, fascist, “stay-behind” groups in Turkey as part of Operation GLADIO, an early project of the Cold War. This project aimed to foster localized, anti-Soviet resistance in the event of an invasion. The groups that GLADIO established quickly became enmeshed in the drugs-and-arms milieu and developed ties to criminal networks as well as intelligence agencies on both sides of the Iron Curtain.

One particular network, the Turkish-based Grey Wolves, bears notice. The Grey Wolves are a far-right, pan-Turkic network, ultimately rooted in GLADIO, with neo-fascist leanings and have long been linked to the CIA and Turkish intelligence. By the early 1980s, if not earlier, the Grey Wolves became increasingly powerful through drug-smuggling and international criminal connections. The Grey Wolves may have formed a critical link in the Iran–Contra affair, as part of a drug-smuggling network connecting Afghanistan to Latin America via Turkey and the Mediterranean.

Drug-smuggling activities and ties to Sunni regimes in the oil-rich Persian Gulf region have likely aided Erdogan to ride to power on the backs of his CIA patrons, the Grey Wolves, and the Gulen network. His installation in power, conjunction with the CIA-led installation of Netanayhu’s milieu in Israel, would prove a watermark for the U.S. and related deep-state networks. Both long-term, Cold War-era, WASP-led plans to reconfigure the Middle East and states’ shared desire to relieve internal contradictions led to a new round of destabilization while en route to World War III, especially while oil prices were still high.

Note that the CIA closely worked with and aided the Nicaraguan Democratic Force. The right-wing NDF, despite its intentionally misleading name, was a counterrevolutionary front that was largely run by pro-Somoza elements. This force attempted to recruit more progressive anti-Sandinista elements to serve as a fig leaf for a reactionary group. As in Afghanistan, right-wing forces received most of the CIA and Western assistance, even though these groups were of highly questionable value and usually fought more effective, progressive, anti-regime forces rather than the socialist governments.

In both Nicaragua and Afghanistan, the CIA-backed groups were also backed, though for divergent aims, by Soviet-bloc intelligence, which hoped to degrade and decapitate leftist opposition forces while placing the blame on the West for arming reactionaries. The CIA and its allies favored these groups, however, for drug-smuggling operations that would further increase the scope and influence of an already-immense military-industrial-intelligence complex. Such cooperation between the CIA and Soviet-bloc intelligence is quite likely, given the corruption within Somoza’s former security apparatus, which shared with the Soviet bloc a common desire to subvert and undermine noncommunist, anti-regime leftists: the pro-Somoza elements aimed to maximize their drug-trafficking wealth, while the Soviet bloc aimed to expand its influence while portraying the U.S. as a destabilizing imperialist power.

Erdogan is closely linked to the CIA-installed Netanyahu regime and its neo-fascist allies within the Likud–Dugin milieu, which in turn is tied to the neoconservative WASP elites and the U.S. deep state, to not mention anti-Western Islamist (Khomeini-linked Shiite and Sunni takfiri) and some “leftist” groups. Globally, these groups are all tied to their respective military-industrial-intelligence complexes in the Western, Russian, and Chinese empires. (The Western empire, including NATO, the Sunni Arab states, and the EU, is U.S.-run.) The groups act as fronts for destabilization activities at the behest of private interests, both within and without government, that operate through deep-state spheres across the world.

Common foundations between pseudo-leftists, Islamists, fascists, and neo-Nazis (including neoconservatives and the Christian right):

    • Ties to global deep-state systems
    • Ties to banks, financial institutions, corporations
    • Anti-democratic
    • Support authoritarianism
    • Elitist
    • Worship institutions of power
    • Drawn to charismatic despots
    • Apocalyptic
    • Benefit from conflict
    • Aim to control or reorder society
    • Tied to global arms and drugs
    • Anti-Semitic
    • Anti-Western
    • Real aims covert
    • Practice deception
    • Work within systems to undermine them
    • Pursuit of total power, private interest

  3. The above comments aptly illustrate the capacity of the deep state to lie endlessly and program people, either by persuasion or by coercive means such as torture or drugs, into believing half-truths or outright lies. The identity of actors involved is deliberately masked and adjusted; their actions and intentions, both past and present, are continually redefined to make only what is said in the present true. Read Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell.

Cognitive dissonance is a common element of elites’ efforts to control society: people prefer to believe their side is saintly and thus echo whatever their partisans say, even if the partisans repeatedly contradict their previous claims. People are increasingly atomized and refuse to listen to perspectives that do not accord with their own. When confronted, they blame the other side for their own faults, real or perceived, and remove dissident voices from their own narrow sphere.

For details regarding the U.S. deep state, see the works of Peter Dale Scott on 9/11, drug trafficking, and the nexus between the corporate elite, the military-industrial-intelligence complex, and the criminal underworld. Key books include Deep Politics and the Death of JFK, the Road to 9/11: Wealth, Empire, and the Future of America, American War Machine, and American Deep State, all by Peter Dale Scott.

  4. The plan would enable Iran to control the Shiite oil-producing regions, while aiding joint CIA–IRGC efforts to install wealthy Shiite exiles in Baghdad. Iran would gain de facto control of the central Iraqi government. This policy, coupled with the disbanding of the Iraqi army and draconian attempts to purge Sunni secularists, would trigger a Sunni counteraction. In turn, the CIA would manipulate the Sunni uprising and Iraqi internal politics to favor Sunni and Shiite Islamists, while marginalizing non-Arab religious and ethnic minorities. The resulting pattern of ethnic cleansing, coupled with the looting of the Iraqi treasury, would favor Arab extremists on each side of the Muslim divide. It would also allow the Barzani-led, pro-Turkish (and hence pro-Saudi/-U.S.) faction to assume control in Iraqi Kurdistan, marginalizing more progressive, secular elements that would oppose foreign control of local oil reserves—in line with Cold War-era U.S. neoconservative aims to undermine perceived Soviet proxies like the nominally Marxist-Leninist PKK and its affiliates, both of which were and are rivals to the conservative (in Marxist terms, feudalist) Barzani faction.

Elements of the U.S. deep state—in alliance with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, and transnational, “proxy” financial conduits—would then begin funding covert operations to develop the rise of a Sunni jihadist “state” that would begin fulfilling longstanding U.S./Saudi (Sunni) objectives to decapitate the multiethnic Syrian state, thereby destabilizing the Iran (Shiite)-allied Assad regime and ousting a Russian base in the eastern Mediterranean. (These objectives date back to the early Cold War and even beyond, as far back as World War I, about which we shall have more to say later.) The ensuing conflict between Russia and NATO—of which Turkey is a member—would, in conjunction with mutually staged conflict over Russia’s sphere of influence in Eurasia, benefit hardliners in the Kremlin and Washington. Propaganda would further their aims while deluding and dividing their respective publics over conflicts in Ukraine, the Caucasus, the Balkans, and Central Asian republics. The KGB and the CIA, and the deep-state milieu of which they are part, are at least partly symbiotic. Conflicts over energy and raw materials are often harnessed to or overlap individual personalities that may be inclined toward raw aggression.

(Note that U.S. deep-state/Saudi interests would also align with those of the CIA-installed Likud elements in Israel, which would be exploited for the benefit of the WASP elite in Washington and London, not for the State of Israel itself; for Israel as a sovereign, albeit dependent, entity, driven by core national interests, no longer exists. It is instead a U.S./British colony serving private interests, namely those of the U.S. deep state. Note that the covert relationship between Netanyahu’s CIA-backed faction and Russian fascism/neo-Nazism, which in turn is symbiotic with [ostensibly anti-Russian] Ukrainian fascism/neo-Nazism as well as neoconservative and Christian-right elements, is largely unexamined, for it would prove devastating to many “official” narratives of the Middle East, both in the U.S. and Russia. It would also unravel many other “official” narratives of foreign affairs.)

The destruction of the multiethnic, secular-oriented Iraqi army, namely its Sunni and Assyrian cores, would force Sunni officers, including former Baathists, to ally themselves with the only remaining Sunni counterweight against Shiite corruption and tyranny: ISIS. By that time, the CIA and its allied intelligence agencies in Ankara and Riyadh would have successfully aided the infiltration of jihadists into the core leadership of the jihadist “state.” The former Baathists would ally themselves with ISIS to fulfill strategic Iraqi purposes that existed under Saddam Hussein: maintain the unity of the Iraqi state for the benefit of core Sunni tribes and clans. At the same time, they would restore Iraq as a buffer against Iran and its Syrian client. Upon discovering the jihadists in their ranks, they would attempt to contain and manipulate them, as Saddam did, to fulfill Iraqi geopolitics in a harsh neighborhood.

However, unbeknown to the secular Baathists, the CIA-installed jihadists would be serving U.S. deep-state/Saudi interests: the destruction of Russian influence in Mesopotamia; the establishment of an ethnically pure Islamist “caliphate”-cum-oil cartel for the benefit of U.S.-backed, wealthy, corporate elites, including the Erdogan cabal in Turkey; and the perpetuation of internecine and regional conflict at the behest of the U.S. deep state and its global allies. It is of note that far-right, pan-Turkic ambitions, those of the Muslim Brotherhood/al-Qaeda milieu, Iranian regional ambitions, and U.S. deep-state interests—namely those of the Cold War neoconservatives and their allied constituents—all overlap, and would require the same means to achieve further destabilization and polarization, which would be harnessed to benefit their own selfish interests.

At the same time, the Baathists’ association with the CIA-formed ISIS would serve as perfect propaganda for the Cold War-era neoconservatives who have done much to obfuscate the differences between secularists and Islamists, while shifting the blame for the rise of the latter to domestic enemies in the U.S.: namely, anyone who criticizes their self-interested power maneuvers. The Baathists would serve as further confirmation, as “proof,” that Saddam’s regime was intimately associated with “radical Islam,” just as the remnants of the long-dismantled Iraqi nuclear and chemical program were touted as “proof” that Saddam harbored live WMD on the eve of the 2003 invasion.

The ostensible timing of ISIS’s formation, meanwhile, would be continually altered for domestic consumption, modulated by the turn of events and the succession of presidential and congressional power in D.C. ISIS’s early and distinctive roots, dating to the 1990s (and ultimately much earlier, to the founding of the Wahhabi al-Saud state), would be made to seem much more recent than they actually were. Hence the rise of ISIS is commonly dated to the seemingly sudden and massive Sunni insurgency of 2013–14. (Of course, the ISIS offensive should really be seen as a symptom of the Second Sunni Awakening, which, as in the First (2005–7), coalesced in Anbar Province.) ISIS is also treated as being indistinct from al-Qaeda in Iraq until at least 2013, shortly before the offensive.

In reality, Clinton- and Bush-era U.S. policy was already setting the conditions that would facilitate the ascendancy of ISIS in Iraq, following the decapitation of Saddam’s regime. The results in 2003–5 were as the contemporary U.S. administration intended. The forcible disintegration of the Iraqi state—namely its sole unifying institution, the army—and the CIA-assisted Iranian takeover succeeded in producing Sunni–Shiite recriminations, a demoralized and unemployed Sunni mass, and increased Iraqi dependency on the U.S. and Iran, thereby greatly facilitating the piggyback Sunni jihadist movements that rose and fell with the tide of the Sunni insurgency. Societies are more malleable to manipulation when existing fault lines—socio-economic, ethnic, religious, or racial, for instance—are deepened by (further, more intense) violent repression or conflict.

Note that much of the first and second Bush administrations, and even part of the Clinton administration, comprised the Cold-War neoconservative milieu, predating but wholly ascendant in the “Reagan Revolution,” that backed Sunni jihadists, including those that were known KGB or communist assets even at the time. The CIA and its ISI/Saudi client-allies disrupted Massoud’s effective, multi-ethnic, anti-Soviet forces by aiding Hekmatyar’s extreme Sunni Islamists, which were also colluding with the Soviet bloc and its allies, including Khomeini’s Iran. The CIA and its allies continued aiding Hekmatyar, who fought rivals and the West rather than the Soviets, despite his known operational weaknesses and dubious reliability, suggesting that the CIA/ISI acted knowingly and were not “duped.” Local sources had known from the start that the Pakistani leadership and the Soviets were duplicitous about their aims, and that Pakistan was feigning a pro-U.S. posture while actually pursuing its own, divergent, anti-U.S. (and effectively pro-Soviet) ambitions. The CIA, however, calculated that profits from Hekmatyar’s drug-and-arms trade would lead to a net benefit for other U.S. covert operations against real and perceived Soviet clients and proxies elsewhere in the world, while also enriching private interests within the U.S. deep state, the criminal underground, and the corporate realm.

Of course, selective partisanship has sought to avert criticism. Reagan-era neoconservatives, many of whom were involved in aiding Hekmatyar’s mujahideen and were linked to the Iran–Contra affair, have insisted that KGB/communist infiltration and incompetence were to blame, yet their claims do not withstand close scrutiny. Their milieu, which included early CIA veterans like Theodore “Ted” Shackley, was heavily involved in schemes to buy influence or access by selling arms to or recruiting anti-American interests, such as Khomeini’s Iran, Gaddafi’s Libya, and various Marxist-Leninist and radical leftist groups as well as Sunni and Shiite Islamists. In turn, the profits or cooperation that their schemes aimed to engender were or would be used to aid these groups’ ostensible opponents, such as pro-Somoza, right-wing counterrevolutionaries in Nicaragua and their right-wing, nominally anti-Castro allies; the right-wing military dictatorships in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, El Salvador, and Guatemala; anti-Iranian, anticommunist Baathist Iraq; and apartheid-era South Africa.

The “official” rise of ISIS is, not coincidentally, closely tied to the Obama-mediated withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq in 2011, under the Bush-era SOFA that was negotiated in 2008. Thus a misleading narrative is constructed to place the blame for ISIS on a latter-day JFK rather than its true architects, the U.S. deep state and its allies. ISIS is also divorced from the broader reality of Cold War-era U.S. support for Sunni Islamists as anti-Soviet proxy forces, furnished directly and indirectly through the CIA and its allies, such as the British MI6, the Pakistani ISI, etc. This is important, for the Cold War-era policy and its architects are more entrenched than ever within the framework of the U.S. deep state—elites who are actively working on a global scale, united with ostensible enemies such as Russian hardliners, to impose a New World Order.

  5. Fundamentalist institutions often act as fronts for intelligence agencies and their overlapping deep-state milieus. Well financed and politically connected, fundamentalist organizations are extensively intertwined with global finance, including the corporate elite, which operates through public institutions such as banks, and the subterranean world of drug- and arms-trafficking. Their global reach allows fundamentalist cartels to use globalization as a political weapon, homogenizing public opinion and regions.

Many of the Sunni Islamist groups backed by the Saudis and their Gulf Arab allies have also been courted by Iran. The Islamic Republic has long sought to gain clout with the Sunni Arabs by courting Hamas, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, and al-Qaeda, both Sunni Islamist movements traditionally backed by the Saudis and their allies. Hamas has also maintained organic links with Iran’s primary Shiite proxy nearest Israel, Hezbollah, via the Palestine Islamic Jihad, an Iranian-backed Sunni arm of Hezbollah.

Notably, all of these organizations finance their activities through the drug-trafficking milieu. Their involvement in such a lucrative and shadowy global network, which in turn is linked to other illicit activities such as arms-dealing, makes the groups easy to manipulate by various actors, or even enables them to cooperate despite seemingly disparate constituents. Thus, despite their regional rivalry, Saudi Arabia and Iran may back groups on opposing sectarian sides when anti-American goals overlap.

In other words, Iran may back a Sunni proxy, and the Saudis a Shiite, and both proxies may work together to aid the common anti-American interests of Saudi and Iranian leadership. In turn, U.S. deep-state elites that rely on lucrative drug monies to finance the military-industrial-intelligence complex may make devil’s bargains with adversaries. These dangerous gambits form part of a greedy game in which each side hopes to gain net advantages, regardless of the cost, both in lives and living standards, to the public.

For instance, Venezuela, run by a nominally anti-American government, is one of the top three transit routes for illicit drugs to the U.S., the world’s largest importer of these drugs. Like Saudi Arabia and Iran, Venezuela has long been an OPEC member. Until recently it was a top-three importer of oil to the U.S. Under Hugo Chávez it was also Cuba’s main source of income via oil imports. Despite its links to the Castro regime, socialist Venezuela has been treated lightly even by anti-Castro hardliners in the U.S.

Latin America has long maintained vital links to drug-running networks in the Mediterranean, Central Asia, and Indochina. Central Asian networks have increased since the late 1970s, when the U.S., its Western European allies, Gulf Arab states, and Pakistan set up money- and drug-laundering networks through front companies and drug banks, all controlled by intelligence agencies. In turn, the U.S. hoped to use profits for funding anti-Soviet proxies, such as in Afghanistan (1979–1992) and Nicaragua (1978–1987).

Hezbollah uses its Venezuelan and other South American networks to finance its operations through the drug trade. In turn, its investment—and that of the U.S. deep state—allows Venezuela to co-opt or effectively hire drug cartels as off-the-books police forces, trained by Cuban intelligence, to target restive, lower-class minorities who are most affected by Venezuela’s price controls. The political violence is thus masked as criminal activity and effectively distanced from its state sponsor.

Multinational corporate media thus buy off or even create false “left” and “right” paradigms to parrot dialectical views that omit key details. “Left-wing” entities praise Venezuelan socialism, while failing to report the government’s abuse of its ostensible lower-class beneficiaries. Meanwhile, “right-wing” entities that benefit from Venezuelan oil and drugs decline to criticize Venezuela’s most egregious abuses, much less effectively and aggressively counter them, such as by military force or vigorous sanctions.

Thus, using profits from oil and drug sales to the U.S., Venezuela has bought off, if not installed, nominally left-wing governments in Latin America and has lobbied Western-led international institutions (such as the World Bank) to repeat uncritically government reports that have reported dubious increases in Venezuela’s standard of living. Meanwhile, nationalist, rightist interests in the U.S. energy sector, such as Otto Reich, have declined to target Venezuela due to its oil-based largesse for the U.S. deep state.

The case of Venezuela illustrates how multinational and subterranean forces cooperate and influence public opinion, creating a false dichotomy, such as that between “left-wing” and “right-wing” interests, when in reality both sides reflect the selfishness and cynicism of elites that fund them. Both “left” and “right” are thus arms of corporate interests that collude behind the scenes. Managed stories are thus easily created by special interests, working through channels such as corporate media and intelligence agencies.

The fact that so much information about deep-state dealings is in the dark—that is, classified, transmitted orally, or destroyed—means that the public is unaware of 97% of how the world truly operates. This opacity also enables deep-state actors to work against the national interest by supporting their private interests. While the U.S. deep state benefits from Venezuela, so do anti-American forces that use the capitalist’s rope to hang him. Greedy concern for profit alone can ultimately lead to treason and destroy a nation.

  6. Thanks in part to the lucrative drug trade, the CIA has arguably been more powerful than the president since the early 1960s; witness the Kennedy assassination(s) in which the CIA likely played a role of some sort. Since its creation, the CIA has regularly strayed beyond its congressionally mandated roles to carry out destabilization in other states, including U.S. allies like Honduras (1960s–1980s). The CIA has had a virtually unlimited and growing, off-the-books budget since the early 1960s. (It had already accrued ample resources by the mid 1950s.) A major component of its undisclosed budget comes from the lucrative drug trade, first from Indochina (1959–1974) and later from Afghanistan (1979–present). Note that in both cases, drugs have passed from these states to the U.S. via the Mediterranean and Latin America, often benefiting large corporate elites, as in pre-Castro Cuba, where U.S. corporate interests benefited from Mafia-run casinos, drug networks, and prostitution under the protection of Fulgencio Batista, who used bribes and kickbacks to enrich himself and his cronies.

Thus, the CIA, an integral component of the military-industrial-intelligence complex, has effectively evaded or circumvented congressional and even presidential oversight, largely due to its connections to the global drugs and arms trade, which benefits powerful corporate, financial, and defense interests. These in turn control or wield considerable sway over the socio-political realm. Note that all these trends long predated the Obama administration. Knowing about the Kennedy assassination(s) and the CIA’s plausible role in it, we can safely venture to suggest that the military-industrial-intelligence complex has superseded presidential power since the mid 1950s and has firmly controlled, directly or indirectly, every sitting U.S. president, both Democratic and Republican, since 1981, the start of the first Reagan administration. (See the works of Peter Dale Scott on 9/11, drug trafficking, and the nexus between the corporate elite, the military-industrial-intelligence complex, and the criminal underworld. Key books include Deep Politics and the Death of JFK, the Road to 9/11: Wealth, Empire, and the Future of America, American War Machine, and American Deep State.)

If President Obama truly aimed, as the right alleges, to implement policies that gravely threatened U.S. national security, the CIA alone, to not mention the military establishment, would have easily blocked them, if not taken steps to oust or kill the President himself. An example is the administration’s policy in the Middle East. The center of gravity in the military-industrial-intelligence complex strongly favored intervention in Syria from the beginning; the President actually took a bold stand by not backing the overthrow of Assad. (Unfortunately, he reluctantly capitulated to a similar demand regarding Gaddafi in Libya.) On many occasions, the President had little room to maneuver around the hawks in the political establishment. Moreover, despite public daylight between the President and Prime Minister Netanyahu, behind the scenes U.S. military and intelligence aid to Israel under the Obama administration has been greater than under any previous U.S. administration.

In short, concerning the domestic policies that the President ostensibly implemented, please attempt to countenance the possibility that the President is merely a pawn of deeper forces and is not truly in control of events or even his own policies. In short, other forces behind the scenes set the agenda. Those forces reside in the wealthy transnational elites, most of which are personally acquainted with each other and have ties to intelligence agencies like the CIA, MI6, and the KGB. These elites’ self-interest has arguably helped place the U.S. deep state on a permanent, undeclared “war footing” against domestic enemies of the status quo—a full-scale war, often covert but sometimes overt, ongoing since the mid 1950s. This war also relies on manufactured external enemies, and indeed the U.S. deep state has often collaborated with other, ostensibly hostile deep-state networks, such as in the Arab Muslim world and Russia, to perpetuate profit and the military-industrial-intelligence complex.

After all, this same milieu did its part to create the global Islamist movement, as well as its fascist and Nazi predecessors, to not mention Soviet communism and neoliberal capitalism. The problem is that Americans and other peoples around the world tend to venerate their authorities in society, namely, the police, the military, religious institutions, and financial and corporate elites. Whether these authorities even mean what they say, whether they are more loyal to power and profit rather than the national interest (much less the nation itself), is a question rarely contemplated, much less posited or openly asked.

    1. I think FEMA Camps will be slaughterhouses. I believe that the most of the people who will be beheaded are God’s children. They will refuse the mark of the beast. Beheading serves organ harvesting.

      – Not long after that video surfaced, many state officials including the governor started a massive campaign to stop executions by electrocution. What was their decided choice for execution you ask? A no brainer eh? THE GUILLOTINE!

Some of you may be asking, why in this modern age we would have government officials lobbying for laws that would require guillotines as a way to kill those they deem worthy of death? With all our technology, with all our civilized ways, with all our “humane” laws, what would drive men to kill with such a thing as a guillotine? MONEY! That’s right folks! It’s the exact same thing that moves the beast in Rome to do the things it does. The almighty dollar bill is what they worship, and the almighty dollar bill is what directs their paths. They truly serve the god of mammon.

We are living in an age when we see commercials on TV telling everyone in the USA to sign the backs of their drivers licences so they can harvest our organs for profit. Doctors all over the land lurk about like Egor in a Frankenstien flic waiting for their patients to show signs of fading. The doctors jump at the first opportunity to harvest your dead loved ones before they even have a chance to get cold on the operating table. Think of it… You can get over $40,000 for one kidney now. Imagine what an entire human body is worth with TWO kidney’s, two eyeballs, a heart, a liver, lungs, skin, gall bladders, bone marrow, blood, etc etc etc. The hospitals of the world have become literal body snatchers right before our eyes! Keep in mind as well, the governing officials of the world also see a cash cow in the executioners cage because they know what they can get for those “fresh” organs. And the Almighty Creator knew of this long before ANY of our transplant surgeons were even born. Isn’t that awesome how His prophecy works out? He doesn’t have to give us the morbid details as to WHY they will be using guillotines. He just tells us they will be using them!

So… let’s cut to the chase!

Why would guillotines represent the better option? I am sure most of you have figured it out already. Why don’t they choose “lethal injection” as an alternative? That is a VERY humane way to break the sixth commandment isn’t it? Or what about cyanide gas? The same gas used on the Jews that was manufactured by the family business of Pope John Paul II’s parents, in fact, John Paul himself was a salesman of the gas. I never heard of anyone igniting or screaming or writhing for 2 or 3 minutes in a gas chamber in excruciating pain, or on a lethal injection table. Have you? So why don’t they use those already in use “so called” humane methods to kill the Christians they will eventually have in their jails? BECAUSE THE ORGANS WOULD BE POISONED AND NOT WORTHY OF HARVESTING! –

  8. Each U.S. intervention in the Middle East is accompanied by:
    1. A spread, not contraction, of the Islamist forces, as well as of Iranian influence, that the U.S. ostensibly opposes;
    2. An increase in the flow of deadly drugs to the U.S., the world’s largest importer of drugs;
    3. An increase in the size and scope of the military-industrial-intelligence complex and the U.S. deep state;
    4. An erosion of constitutional liberties and an increase in the power of national-security agencies;
    5. The rise of an omniscient, omnipresent surveillance society;
    6. A dramatic increase in social stratification, benefiting wealthy global elites;
    7. More, not fewer, Islamist terrorist attacks, both in the U.S. and globally;
    8. Increased conflict between anti-Islamist secular forces, such as the Assad regime and Russia, and the U.S.-led Western empire;
    9. A suspiciously muted Western response to the Islamist killings of thousands of Westerners, as well as of tens of thousands of Muslims—i.e., no comparable anti-Muslim attacks following 9/11, Paris, etc.—yet an increase in anti-Semitism, misogyny, homophobia, and reactionary social principles of organization (authoritarianism, militarism, political religion, corporatism);
    10. The rise of Islamist fundamentalism and violent Islamist insurgencies in Muslim-majority states that had previously never experienced pan-Islamic Wahhabi fundamentalism and were more egalitarian, i.e., in the treatment of women
    11. An increasing uniformity of public opinion, as people increasingly parrot the talking points of special interests and refuse to even consider alternative perspectives, preferring instead to remain in their insular glass echo chambers, surrounded by sycophants
    12. Anecdotal but long-evident signs of decreased human intelligence as societies have become more stratified and centralized over hundreds of years, dramatically accelerating over the past few decades
    13. Wars fought not to win, but to enrich special interests, even at the cost of Western lives, while allowing “guns and butter” to drive states into debt

Regarding point thirteen, elites, our consciousness, society’s structure, and psychology create fears and barriers between each other, between people of different skin complexions and cultures, between civilian and military spheres, between haves and have-nots, between elite-created fundamentalist (read: political) religions and partisan politics: all these lies help annihilate the truth, deny our fundamental humanity and reciprocity and connectedness to each other; they divide, rule, corrupt, enfeeble, and destroy our humanity. The poor peasant or nomad who sees outside rule as all bad and merely wants freedom is not a savage, noble or otherwise, but truly human.

The point of war for profit, rather than for national interest, is not to win decisively, but rather to muddle through, in a stalemate, or to lose, thereby justifying continuing the conflict or starting new ones. This process raises expenditures for wealthy, corporate, global elites, military-industrial-intelligence complexes, and deep states, thereby ensuring permanent, undeclared, unwinnable war, more power, more division, more concentration of wealth, less freedom within societies. Of course, the wars are never fought for the publicly stated purposes or to win against the officially defined “enemy.” The self-fulfilling stalemates and losses in conflicts then justify the selfish society, the structure that dumbs down the populace; indoctrinates the people into fascism, communism, religious fundamentalism, neoliberalism/elite oligarchic capitalism, or whatever convenient, officially created “ideology” as a mask for the deeper, darker impulses of people, born of their despair and weakness; uses the indoctrination as psychological warfare in the media, culture, video games, institutions, etc.; prepares the groundwork for totalitarianism; initiates conflict; and ultimately synthesizes and catalyzes events into a metastasized global super-state, as larger and more centralized empires merge under the direction of elites and their governing ideology.

The recent Turkish “coup” attempt seems to have been orchestrated by a small cabal of Erdogan loyalists to purge even Islamists who no longer suit the needs of the Erdogan clan, the CIA, and Western corporate interests. Most of the “soldiers” out on the streets were relatively small numbers of haggard-looking teenaged youngsters, clad in fatigues, who were cowering, their faces bloodied, before violent crowds. There is little evidence to support anything close to a death toll of 200+ civilians, yet it is echoed in the West by pro-Erdogan corporate media. If anything, the supposed putschists themselves, the patsies of Erdogan, were the sacrificial victim of violent, Erdogan-backed and -funded Islamist crowds to make the “coup” look convincing to the outside world. It would present an image of the “democratic” Erdogan regime, supported by a popular uprising, taking on a powerful military that, in reality, ceased being powerful more than a decade ago, and especially after the last secularists and competent, incorruptible military officials were purged in the joint Gulen-Erdogan-CIA “Sledgehammer” hoax (another fabricated “coup” attempt).

As for the Patriot missiles remaining in Turkey rather than Eastern Europe, I suspect that a possible explanation lies in the fact that wealthy elites, especially in the Anglo-American realm, control the EU, NATO, and international financial institutions. These elites benefit from conflict and globalization to suit their own interests. The EU was created under the Maastricht Treaty in 1991 with the specific aim to allow unfettered flow of capital, including refugees, across Europe. Historically, the Common Market, established by NATO and the U.S. after World War II, did enable economic integration, but with secure borders and distinct national states. To appear more politically correct in an age of multiculturalism (itself a concept created by elites to bolster their selfish interests and power maneuvers), elites created the EU as an ostensible extension of the Common Market while radically undermining its basis in secure borders and nation-states.

At the same time, these elites orchestrated the destruction of NATO’s military strength, making members more reliant on the ever-more-bloated U.S. military-industrial-intelligence largesse. States increasingly lacked the will to defend themselves, turning over their sovereignty to the cosmopolitan corporate elites that controlled the U.S. and Western institutions. The reduction in NATO members’ conventional militaries occurred even as the USSR’s old Marxist-Leninist rulers never changed their stripes, but instead orchestrated the faked “end” to the Cold War while taking control of capitalist enterprises in post-Soviet Russia: in short, the KGB hardliners, with corporate elites’ and the U.S. deep state’s assistance, became the crony-capitalist oligarchs of the Yeltsin family, which in turn allowed Putin to assume power following the false-flag “Chechen” apartment bombings in 1999. Yeltsin’s Russia aggressively intervened in Georgia, Chechnya, and Bosnia in the 1990s, even before Putin assumed power, while feigning innocence to Western publics.

In turn, Russian oligarchs, the communists-cum-Mafia capitalists (but who remained anti-Western Russian nationalists and communists at heart), began acting as extensions of Russian power through criminal financial liaisons with Western financial, drugs, arms, and intelligence networks. Meanwhile, Western elites deliberately refused to develop alternative energy networks, keeping their ties to their Russian oligarch friends while ensuring that Russia could hold Western Europe hostage by turning off the natural-gas spigot whenever Russia wished to intervene in another European state’s affairs. This strategy, combined with open borders, the destruction of NATO’s military, and its outsourcing to the U.S., worked well for cosmopolitan corporate elites but not so well for ordinary citizens or their countries, which faced an increasingly aggressive, ever-imperialist Russia and EU-enabled, deep-state-backed, CIA-abetted Islamist infiltration in their midst.

Now, Germany, Britain, and France can barely even support a functioning army and could barely even topple Gaddafi without the U.S. supporting 90% of the 2011 NATO operation. German soldiers are starving, their rations cut, and lack even proper clothing. Putin has boasted that he could waltz his military into Warsaw or Berlin without the Western alliance firing a shot, and he is almost certainly correct. The West has no shortage of technology; it lacks will, and it lacks will because elites have no loyalty to country, but only to profit, and will collude with their nations’ enemies to perpetuate their own profit. Basically, Europe can only be defended against Russia if the U.S. were to become the continent’s sole policeman. And indeed, that’s what the U.S. has become: it is now an Orwellian Big Brother tending to the slightest bowel movements of its helpless, spoiled brats. And this Big Brother is the only thing standing up to a superpower whose elites next to Putin, to his extreme right, see Russia as the imperial Third Rome, with jurisdiction over all Europe and all Slavs the world over.

But despite the U.S.’s overwhelming military might and near-total global economic dominance, the Russians have fewer dominoes to topple than in the past, given the military weakness of non-U.S. NATO members and the porousness of states closest to Russia, such as Poland, Romania, Moldavia, Ukraine, Georgia, and the Baltic states. Those Eastern European states’ intelligence agencies are still honeycombed with KGB loyalists, making them vulnerable to Kremlin-directed espionage and cyberwarfare (as happened to Georgia and Ukraine when Russia moved against them in 2008 and 2014, respectively) in the event of a Russian invasion.

Furthermore, the U.S. is embroiled, at the behest of elites, in never-ending Middle Eastern wars for drugs, oil, and Islamism, NOT for democracy, a “war on terror,” the fight against “radical Islam,” or any of the propagandistic claptrap that elites spoon-feed to their subjects. These interventions sap America’s military power, justify draconian abrogation of civil liberties, empower the military-industrial-intelligence complex, enrich elites at the expense of everyone else, arm anti-Western Islamists as Western proxies (as in Syria), embolden anti-Western communists, rightists, and Islamists, and allow Russia and Islamists to take over a very weak Europe.

And of course, the West ultimately created the Russian and Islamist threats, along with many others. Western corporate elites funded German imperialism and Soviet communism before, during, and after World War I. These elites fostered Nazism and fascism, which in turn spawned the fascist Muslim Brotherhood and influenced Wahhabi Islamism, the Sunni extremism of the oil-rich al-Saud family. Western corporate elites promoted pro-Axis revisionism before, during, and after World War II, both on the communist left and the ostensibly anticommunist right. Western corporate elites supported Stalinist slave labor and their media parroted propaganda about a socialist, classless paradise in the USSR that ordinary Soviet citizens, acquainted with the norms of wealthy Communist Party elites, knew was insulting nonsense. Western corporate elites armed fascist, right-wing, and Islamist forces ostensibly as anti-Soviet bulwarks, but actually to protect and promote corporate interests, such as control over precious metals, raw materials, and petroleum.

People have argued that the apparent daylight between Erdogan and Gulen suggests that the two have been enemies. But that is to overlook the fundamental nature of dictators. The dictator needs enemies to survive; even his most fervent loyalists are merely expedient pawns, to be dispensed with as circumstances and power politics dictate. (Exhibit A, among others: Stalin.) Gulen was and still is no different ideologically from Erdogan. Both were and are right-wing, Islamist, oligarchic autocrats. They were close allies for decades and worked together, with the assistance of the CIA and wealthy global elites, to corrupt, dismember, and destroy Turkey’s secular, independent history and institutions, turning every aspect of society into arms of the oligarchic, right-wing, Islamist fascists and multinational corporations.

Gulen had but one cardinal sin: the temerity to believe that his clout would gain him more prestige and that he could be Turkey’s king of the hill. That one sin, in a dictatorship, is nearly always fatal, as people who believed they could control, or even outmaneuver, Hitler and Stalin soon learned. The dictator is often more ruthless and cunning than his envious, equally arrogant sycophants (and covert, opportunistic back-biters) suspect. In a greedy game for power, miscalculation can come at the cost of one’s very life. Erdogan, as a supremely intelligent and ruthless dictator, was jealous of his power, so he and his power base ousted a friendly rival.

I detest commodification of sexuality, the transformation of pure and intimate feelings into something based on profit, thereby sacrificing the performer’s altruism. (See Beyoncé as an example: a talented, feeling person, from an oppressed minority in America, who becomes intoxicated with the restlessness needed to perform for profit, exhibiting her innermost feelings and sexual vibrancy for profit. It’s akin to prostitution, albeit in another form.)

There is no corroborating evidence that the Turkish Parliament was ever bombed during the supposed “coup.” Also, the fake “soldiers,” the youths clad in fatigues, said they had no knowledge of a coup, that they believed they were sent to train as a militia, and that armed government loyalists paid by Erdogan attacked, bloodied, and tortured them. The pass from Europe to Asia across the Bosporus was left open, likely purposely by the Erdogan cabal to allow ISIS fighters to return from Europe to Syria via Turkey (and then back again at an opportune time).

Deep structural forces and elites desirous of conflict have manufactured false stories to disguise the real reasons for wars and conflicts. For instance, most of the wars, oppressions, and imperialisms since the 1880s have likely been fought not for the reasons analyzed by most traditional historians, but rather for subterranean, selfish interests by cabals of elites. These elites create dialectical conflicts that present misleading half-truths (read: lies), white lies, and blatant lies to obscure the full scope of what is happening from everyone outside the inner circles. For instance, the manufacturing of exclusive enemies is used to arouse patriotic fervor to benefit elites that, in fact, are opportunistically collaborating behind the scenes with the enemy they ostensibly oppose (i.e., elites funding BOTH the Kaiser’s bourgeois, right-wing Germany AND Lenin’s budding USSR). They do so for selfish interests, profit, and power, not because they care about the national interest, much less the people of the nation.

For instance, both Soviet communist hardliners and U.S. deep-state interests, cabals within the military-industrial-intelligence complexes of the Soviet and Western blocs, opposed people and policies that favored peaceful coexistence, a more just and equitable society, and egalitarianism because such a reality threatened the elites’ Mafia rules of power and profit, along with their excuses to rule, on both sides of the Iron Curtain (again, both sides being linked to global corporate elites). The elites have wished to convince people that the society that has been for hundreds of years, based on stratification, war, conflict, hierarchy, and oppression, is the only reality that was and is (i.e., as in Nineteen Eighty-Four, Oceania has always been at war with East Asia, the nomadic time before settled “civilization” was an age of barbarous savagery and/or some romantic noble savagery, and whatever the elites say at a given moment is the ultimate, absolute, unchanging Reality, past, present, and future), that it is necessary for pseudo-scientific “progress” (however defined), and that the unity and/or uniformity of religion, patriotism, science, race, ethnicity, and the state is a positive good, duty, conformity, and, if necessary, eugenics/annihilation/genocide being incumbent upon the citizenry for the greater good (read: the elites’ good).

In the early 1960s, the Soviet and Western blocs were facing serious contradictions within their industrialized, stratified, centralized societies, both of which were based on failed economic models and societal structures. The Soviet form of state socialism, with its command-and-control system, its emphasis on industrialization (just as in the West, albeit state-owned, not private), its dehumanizing inefficiency and cruelty, its denigration of the ordinary people (the beloved, so-called “workers and peasants”) in favor of the much wealthier Party elites, its extreme ethnic-Russian/nationalist chauvinism at the heart of an ostensibly internationalist government, its false promises of a non-existent classless society, and its oppressive, open-air prison environment, had long led to such severe discontent that it was bolstering the possibility of radical reform or even a complete overthrow of the system.

Meanwhile, the Western model of industrial, bourgeois capitalism and liberal representative systems masked subtle but severe forms of dehumanization, manifest in systemic, structural racism (both at home and in the remaining overseas colonies), the drudgery of day-to-day living in a crowded society, the rise of the service sector, endemic poverty and unemployment in parts of the country, profound regional differences, inequitable distribution of resources, and the rise of mass media, which brought attention to private and petty oppression as well as lunacy, thereby opening the door to radical reform, but also allowing for the further commodification of society through entertainment, drugs, industry consolidation (mergers), and interlocking ties between elites, the media, academia, the military-industrial-intelligence complex, and institutions of cohesion and authority, such as churches.

When everything is a managed story, controlled and filtered through layers of disinformation, one must step back, look at the broad contours of history, and see whether the individual pieces of information, the inner contours, fit the broader, well-documented, long-term pattern(s), the outer contour(s).

For instance, in assessing claims about a global Jewish conspiracy to enslave white civilization, one must look at where power has been concentrated over hundreds of years, particularly since the late 19th century. In other words, by looking at where the power and money lay, as well as the range of people involved, one could see whether a phenomenon was narrow, limited to an ethnic or racial hidden society controlling everything, or was part of a broader phenomenon, in which a multiethnic, loose affiliation of wealthy elites (but mostly WASPs, historically) sought to prevent people from seeing the scope of their activities by blaming only ONE segment of the elites and/or society as scapegoats. The evidence firmly supports the latter scenario. One cannot blame an entire group people for complicity; ALL kinds of people are complicit, even ourselves, in various ways. Besides, wealth, and the elites that own it, is cosmopolitan.

Thus the elites create or foster seemingly disparate groups to blame one scapegoat or another, fostering hatred, exclusivity, prejudice, and closed-mindedness that only obscures understanding and allows elites to achieve their goals and aims by further controlling and regimenting society. The elite-financed communist groups blame the Zionists/Jews, the elite-financed Christian right blames the Islamists and the left, the elite-financed fascists and neo-Nazis blame the Jews, the elite-financed neoliberals blame anyone who opposes capitalistic oligarchy, and elite-financed racists, broadly situated on both on the fabricated “left” and “right” (anyone with authoritarian, anti-egalitarian, elitist—that is, one could almost say, right-wing—mindsets, even if professed by the ostensibly opposite “left”), blame inferior biological subsets, races, pseudo-racial groups, sexual “deviants,” “retarded” people with “criminal, antisocial” tendencies, etc. And in fact, all the groups preceding the racists in this paragraph more or less espouse these biases as well.

(See also all the stories about unidentified flying objects; hostile and friendly alien abductions; Atlantis; supernatural apparitions of the Virgin Mary; HAARP weather control; etc. Elites create these false diversions to delude people and further their illusions, thereby preventing them from seeing reality as it is, preferring drugs, entertainment, ascetic practices, religious and political fanaticism, etc. to looking beyond and seeing things as they really are, as the world system truly operates.)

    Trump This! Web site
Banner, hand-drawn: Trump as grizzly bear with gaping, saliva-dripping jaws and his golden hair (left side), Clinton as smug, upturned-chin-Mussolini-type party apparatchik in military uniform (right side)
At Trump This! you don’t get the news. You get history: hidden history. The censored history. The history that not even “alternative” news sources cover, much less examine fully. In other words, you get context. News does not help you understand the world; neither does conventional, “official” history. In other words, Trump This! aims to present REAL history.

Elite-inculcated blind obedience, masquerading as “patriotism,” is often akin to how Stockholm syndrome is achieved and how patsies are set up for false flags: prey upon abused, downtrodden, psychologically vulnerable but unaware and/or stupid people who, even while being physically or metaphorically raped, will praise and flatter their oppressors and carry out their commands. People who have been abused as children display analogous traits: they often protect their own feelings of guilt and vulnerability by whitewashing or even praising the crimes of their abusers (masochism and sadomasochism are forms of this).

YPG’s inability to devise a comprehensive strategy to exploit regional alliances (an unfortunately difficult task, given Rojava’s lack of stable, firm support rather than shifting, ephemeral backing from the U.S. and Russia) and attack Turkey with outside support makes a Turkish invasion and destruction of Rojava more likely at some point the near future, given how global corporate elites do not wish to see Rojava succeed.

I have this inexplicable attraction to things old and antique, gateways to a very different world and paradigm. I mourn lost languages, lost techniques, lost settings, lost windows into something beyond the current reality. They are like the old, green-clad, shelly mound at the very end of Canaveral National Seashore, crumbling into the sea, trashed, green glass and Styrofoam and beer cans littering its silent shrubby understory, yet possessing a mysterious dignity of its own, hidden yet manifest, somewhere in the unknown past.

  9. Just for the record, here is another instance of elites manipulating politics:

When George W. Bush was president, none of his neoconservative Christian right appointees, including anti-Castro rightists in the energy sector, and very few Republican voters criticized the Bush administration’s lenient policy toward Venezuela, a terrorist-sponsoring, anti-American Mafia state, because the oil and drugs it sent to the U.S. benefited corporate elites, including neoconservative Christian rightists (and proponents of the spurious “wars on terror and drugs”) as well as politicians in both major parties. This was despite the fact that Venezuela was actively aiding using American investment to aid Hezbollah and was controlling several Latin American states through oil largess.

Yes, you heard a few people on the neoconservative Christian right, mainly Otto Reich and Pat Robertson, “talking tough” against Hugo Chávez, at least within the first few days following a failed coup against his regime; yet there were no sanctions, no oil embargoes, no attempt to orchestrate a military invasion by the U.S. military and its Latin American allies, particularly the key states of Colombia and Panama. And whatever critique there was of Chávez in those few weeks in 2002 quickly died down, even within right-wing circles—an extremely sinister point, considering that these anti-Castro right-wing circles were in effect, by not acting, allowing Chávez to subsidize Castro’s communist regime by providing billions of barrels of ALBA/OPEC oil yearly.

And all the while Chávez was crushing independent labor organizations and impoverishing mulatto, black, and indigenous people through his Cuban-, Iranian-, and CIA-run Mafia state. He was hiring drug cartels as political weapons, trained by Cuban and Iranian intelligence, to extort cash from Venezuela’s poor, historically discriminated minorities to benefit his loyalists in the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, who in turn enriched themselves via the drugs-and-arms milieu while investing very little in genuine social reform.

Chávez, his family, his loyalists, and his pal Fidel Castro—to not mention all the politicians that the Venezuelan regime controlled in other Latin American states—became among the wealthiest people on the planet, with members of Chávez’s inner circle owning more than forty Mercedes-Benz vehicles and shopping with impunity even in the right-wing anti-Castro city of Miami, enjoying the riches of the imperialist, capitalist, Yankee superpower that they publicly decried as the Great Satan.

And the “leftist” sectors of the media and academia, as well as neoliberal and neoconservative rightists in U.S.-led financial institutions like the World Bank (in theory, hardly a bastion of Marxism-Leninism), praised Chávez for innovative social programs and reductions in poverty. Unfortunately, the only basis for such claims, including the statistics marshaled in their favor, was the official line of the Venezuelan state, not an independent, impartial monitor. Yet these statistics were parroted as frequently by the “anticommunist” right as well as the socialist left.

In the public realm, Chávez was lauded BOTH as a heroic, progressive, anti-imperialist hero of the indigenous Third World AND as a friendly arbiter between capitalist interests in the energy sector and the long-neglected poor of Venezuela. He represented a harmonious middle path: he was both a model anti-capitalist, yet without the corrupt elitism of the old Soviet hardliners in Eastern Europe, AND a capitalist-friendly reformer who benefited the poorest, most marginalized, lowest-class, longest-neglected groups in Venezuela.

In reality, Chávez was a continuation of the forty-plus years of previous corrupt, oligarchic, party-dominated Venezuelan regimes, yet with even worse violence, corruption, and a new dose of Soviet-style Marxism-Leninism dressed up as “twenty-first-century socialism.” His regime left all the old racist prejudices and economic inequality of the previous “bourgeois” regimes (as if the Bolivarian Revolution were no less elitist and did not benefit a new bourgeoisie, the bourgeoisie of the Party and collaborationist leftovers from the old, pre-Chávez system).

A little “hidden history” from the late 1970s and the 1980s in Cold War-era Latin America and Central Asia:

Note that Cuban officials, while financing anti-American leftists, were also closely working closely with the ostensibly anticommunist Reagan administration as part of a joint Cuban intelligence/KGB/CIA operation to transfer drugs to the U.S., simultaneously funding “anticommunist counterrevolutionaries,” the pro-Somoza Contras, in Nicaragua, the Medellín drug cartel in Colombia, right-wing “anti-Castro” Cubans in Miami, the right-wing Pinochet and Videla regimes in Chile and Argentina, the Vatican, AND Fidel Castro’s anti-American communist regime, along with Castro’s communist, anti-American Sandinista allies.

All these conduits were as part of the Iran–Contra–Turkish GLADIO (Grey Wolves/pan-Turkic Sunni Islamist/Erdogan/Muslim Brotherhood)–Afghan Islamist mujahideen milieu, which was linked both to the Soviet and Western elites via drug banks run by the Saudis and Pakistanis, as well as by other deep-state entities like the CIA-funded, neoconservative Heritage Foundation, the leftist, pro-Soviet Institute for Policy Studies, a variety of pro-Sandinista/pro-Castro entities financed by the Soviet bloc, the right-wing World League for Freedom and Democracy, and the CIA-funded, neoliberal National Endowment for Democracy.

A little background on the NDE highlights some of the dynamics at work in the “right-wing” sector of this milieu (http://www.cato.org/pubs/fpbriefs/fpb-027.html):

“What finally drew public attention to NED’s meddling in foreign elections was an aborted attempt to provide opposition candidate Violeta Chamorro with $3 million in funding for her 1989 election campaign against Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega. The plan was abandoned after it was determined that NED’s charter, which expressly forbids campaign contributions, would be violated. In the end, the money was channeled to programs that aided Chamorro indirectly rather than through direct campaign contributions.

In 1988, for example, the endowment had given $600,000 to organizations working to defeat Chilean leader Augusto Pinochet. NED considered that endeavor entirely appropriate, even though the recipients themselves lamented it as American intervention in the electoral process. One recipient, contemplating the “hard moral dilemmas” involved in accepting U.S. funds, admitted his reluctance to accept the money, which he bemoaned as a “lesser evil” than the reelection of Pinochet.(10) NED was involved in similar activities in 1990 in Czechoslovakia, where it was criticized for funding 2 parties close to Vaclav Havel to the exclusion of 22 other legitimate parties.(11)

In Panama’s 1984 elections, for instance, the endowment funded a military-backed candidate, Nicholas Ardito Barletta, in direct contradiction of U.S. policy toward Panama, which was to oppose military rule. The U.S. ambassador at the time, James E. Biggs, objected vehemently in a secret cable, “The embassy requests that this hair brained project be abandoned before it hits the fan.”(13)

An even more dubious initiative was NED’s involvement in Costa Rica. Not only is Costa Rica a well-established democracy–former president George Bush visited the country in 1989 to celebrate 100 years of democracy there–it is the only stable democracy in Central America. But Costa Rican president Oscar Arias had opposed Ronald Reagan’s policy in Central America, especially his support of the Nicaraguan Contras. Arias received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to dampen conflicts in the region, but he incurred the wrath of right-wing NED activists. So from 1986 to 1988 NED gave money to Arias’s political opposition, which was also strongly supported by Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega.

In the mid-1980s, for example, the AFL CIO’s FTUI approved a grant of $1.5 million to defend democ racy in France, which was astonishing for several reasons. First of all, French democracy in the 1980s did not appear to be so fragile that it required financial assistance from American taxpayers to sustain itself. The government of Franáois Mitterrand was duly elected within a democratic system nearly as old as America’s. The AFL-CIO, however, determined that France’s socialist government was permitting a dangerous rise of communist influence. According to the late Irving Brown, Paris-based director of international relations for the AFL-CIO at the time of the incident: “France . . . is threatened by the Communist apparatus. . . . It is a clear and present danger if the present is thought of as 10 years from now.”(15)

That mentality has resulted in AFL-CIO support for highly controversial causes. One of the French groups that received funding, the National Inter-University Union, was widely viewed as a cauldron of rightist extremism and xenophobia and rumored also to have ties to terrorists.(16)”

One of the most revealing and inconvenient excerpts is this, regarding deep-state (including CIA, drug, and elite corporate) involvement in the Nicaraguan Civil War via NED:

“By dealing with private groups abroad rather than foreign governments, NED invariably ends up playing favorites, engendering strife within the very democratic movements it seeks to assist. When the Bush administration funded anti-Sandinista groups in an attempt to dethrone [Marxist-Leninist leader] Daniel Ortega, the competition for U.S. funds splintered the opposition, strengthening some factions at the expense of others. Unfortunately, it was often the strongest anti-Sandinista organizations that were loath to “feed at the U.S. trough,”(19) and as a result those cornerstone groups, which should have led the movement, were ultimately weakened. NED’s blatant involvement was further destructive in that it seemed to validate Ortega’s charge that the anti-Sandinistas were, from the outset, pawns of the U.S. government. For any foreign organization or political movement to be perceived as an American puppet is fatal, particularly in the Third World. NED’s involvement in Nicaragua probably hindered rather than helped the effort to oust Ortega.”

All these tactics could not be more perfectly designed to sabotage a genuinely progressive, anti-Sandinista movement, committed both to anticommunism and national sovereignty, favoring independent development and the uplifting of the poorest, most marginalized citizens of Nicaragua.

Finally, note how the anti-American regime in Venezuela, like Erdogan’s Islamist dictatorship in Turkey, was not criticized by the neoconservative Christian right OR the anti-American left UNTIL a Democratic, black president assumed office. The explanation is that the deep-state elites, including the Bush and Clinton dynasties (both ENEMIES of the Kennedys and Obamas), as well as fake plants like Bernie Sanders, have set up a either a patsy, a new Lee Oswald, or a perfect scapegoat, a latter-day JFK, to take the fall in a dialectical pattern of interlocking dark operations, false flags, and lies designed to aid global corporate elites, promote the false left/right dichotomy, enrich the elites, establish a permanent national-security state and dictatorship, annihilate regional, cultural, and ethnic diversity of the human species, control individual behavior and sexuality, set up a transnational and supranational oligarchy, initiate permanent, undeclared war for profit, enshrine perpetual, permanent war as a fact of life, and work to create the merging of larger and larger empires into a single globalist dictatorship.

I meant to say that he changed nothing, that he kept “left all the old racist prejudices and economic inequality of the previous “bourgeois” regimes” in place while pretending to the West that his socialist regime eliminated all these evils.

  11. To sum up:

When one faces a devolving, insane world, a downward vortex sucking individual human beings into disaster, one MUST act. One MUST fight back. I fight this lonely fight, screaming into the howling wind across the vast Siberian wastes of modernity, the Siberia of Gulags, Auschwitz, the factory floor, drugs, entertainment, environmental destruction, total control, total conformity, total inhumanity, total annihilation—the Siberia of Tsars and Stalinists, not the old, forgotten, mystified Siberia, the Siberia that once was 10,000 years ago, wild, free, mysterious, harsh, haunting, yet fully humanizing, free of industrial-scale war and industrial-scale pollution, free of taxes, serfdom, Gulags, oligarchs, religious elites, multinational corporations, and the machinery of “progress.” We MUST fight back to recover our humanity, at the greatest possible sacrifice. The modern system is sh*t; there is no kinder language for it: it must be dismantled. No new government can change it, for the incentives for oppression will remain. Violence will ultimately not get the job done; the real change begins in our hearts, our minds. We must act selflessly, commit collective suicide if need be, to save ourselves. If not, then what did God create us for?

  12. But late Sunday, many questions remained unanswered. It was unclear, for example, how a lone gunman managed to hold so many people inside the nightclub for so long, whether any of the clubgoers tried to stop him and why police waited three hours to intervene. A clear timeline of events, including when the victims were killed and injured and who shot them, remained elusive.

Authorities declined to offer details. But a senior U.S. law enforcement official said officers delayed their assault on the gunman because the active-shooter scene turned into a hostage negotiation once the gunman called 911. For three hours, the gunman was on the phone with police and no shots were fired.

“That is when you do wait,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not an authorized spokesman. “It was appropriate.”

Police ultimately chose to end the standoff because of concerns about the health and safety of dozens of people who were injured and trapped inside. Officials at nearby Orlando Regional Medical Center said at least nine people died at the hospital or were dead when they arrived. It was unclear whether anyone was injured during the gunman’s final shootout with officers, although authorities said that one Orlando police officer was shot but his Kevlar helmet saved him.

A former Fort Pierce police officer who once worked with 29-year-old Omar Mateen, the assailant in an Orlando nightclub shooting that left at least 50 dead, said he was “unhinged and unstable.”

Gilroy, a former Fort Pierce police officer, said Mateen frequently made homophobic and racial comments. Gilroy said he complained to his employer several times but it did nothing because he was Muslim. Gilroy quit after he said Mateen began stalking him via multiple text messages — 20 or 30 a day. He also sent Gilroy 13 to 15 phone messages a day, he said.
“I quit because everything he said was toxic,” Gilroy said Sunday, “and the company wouldn’t do anything. This guy was unhinged and unstable. He talked of killing people.”

He [Janiel González] said he never saw the gunman, who was in an adjacent room about 20 feet away. He said he thought the initial burst of gunfire lasted eight or nine minutes.

“He kept on shooting and shooting and shooting, rapid fire,’’ Gonzalez said, “and he’d change (clips), put in more ammunition — bud-dudda. I could smell the ammo in the air.’’

He said he heard another gun from a different direction, so he wonders if there were two gunmen.

“Everybody dropped to the floor. We were trying to look for an exit. But the main exit was right next to the entrance where the shooter was shooting,’’ he said.

But he said the door was blocked by a man. He wasn’t sure if it was a club security person or an accomplice to the gunmen.

“Fifty people were trying to jump over each other trying to exit the place. There was a guy holding the door and not letting us exit. He’s like ‘Stay inside, stay inside.’ As he is saying that, the shooter keeps getting closer and closer and the sound of the bullets is getting closer. Everyone starts to panic. People are getting trampled. Let us out, let us out!’’

Gonzalez’ first thought was that it was a hate crime. “This guy is trying to prevent us from leaving. Maybe they’re working together,’’ he said.

“When you enter the club, there’s a right wing and a left wing. The shooter entered and went straight to the right. He never came to the left (side), which is the hiphop room where the majority of my friends were. Everybody in the right (wing) room got injured.’’

“I’m pretty sure it was more than one person. I heard two guns going at the same time. It was very, very crazy.’’

The global security service behemoth G4S gets the most ink for operating in Israeli prisons, where its guards have been alleged to abuse the Palestinian prisoners held there. The company’s operations extend to prisons in Australia and South Africa. Sometimes their security guards return to the mothership to violently assault protesting shareholders from denouncing G4S’s legion human rights violations at their own annual board meeting.

G4S also provides security services to colleges and universities nationwide. According to their website G4S provides colleges with such services as video surveillance, security officers, and “risk-mitigation software solutions.” Since universities are under no obligation to advertise their security provider, it’s hard to say just how many have employed G4S. Many universities, including Columbia, invest in G4S.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is quietly transporting illegal immigrants from the Mexican border to Phoenix and releasing them without proper processing or issuing court appearance documents, Border Patrol sources tell Judicial Watch. The government classifies them as Other Than Mexican (OTM) and this week around 35 were transferred 116 miles north from Tucson to a Phoenix bus station where they went their separate way. Judicial Watch was present when one of the white vans carrying a group of OTMs arrived at the Phoenix Greyhound station on Buckeye Road.A security company contracted by the U.S. government is driving the OTMs from the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector where they were in custody to Phoenix, sources said.

The firm is called G4S and claims to be the world’s leading security solutions group with operations in more than 100 countries and 610,000 employees. G4S has more than 50,000 employees in the U.S. and its domestic headquarters is in Jupiter, Florida. Judicial Watch is filing a number of public records requests to get more information involving the arrangement between G4S and the government, specifically the transport of illegal immigrants from the Mexican border to other parts of the country. The photo accompanying this story shows the uniformed G4S guard that transported the OTMs this week from Tucson to Phoenix.

Outraged Border Patrol agents and supervisors on the front lines say illegal immigrants are being released in droves because there’s no room to keep them in detention. “They’re telling us to put them on a bus and let them go,” said one law enforcement official in Arizona. “Just move those bodies across the country.” Officially, DHS denies this is occurring and in fact earlier this year U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske blasted Border Patrol union officials for denouncing this dangerous catch-and-release policy. Kerlikowske’s scolding came in response to the congressional testimony of Bandon Judd, chief of the National Border Patrol Council, the labor union that represents line agents. Judd told lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee that illegal immigrants without serious criminal convictions can be released immediately and disappear into the shadows. Kerlikowske shot back, telling a separate congressional committee: “I would not stand by if the Border Patrol was — releasing people without going through all of the formalities.”

[Note: Such activities might be related to the milieu of U.S.-backed drug-running operations that intersect with intelligence-gathering networks.]

On June 6, 2011, Kerlikowske published his report “Drug policies must be rooted in science,” in response to a report calling for the decriminalization of illicit drugs by the Global Commission on Drug Policy. In the report, he denies the Commission’s assertions that the War on Drugs is failing and costing billions of the taxpayers’ dollars. The report claims that the economic impact of illicit drug use is $80 billion for health care and productivity.

Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association (NRA), has been on a media blitz trying to defend an NRA lawsuit that attempts to block an executive rule aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of cartels and criminals. The new rule would require gun stores along the border with Mexico to report to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) when a person purchases multiple long guns, such as the cartel favorite AK-47.

LaPierre’s argument is that the U.S. government can’t defeat multi-billion-dollar cartels with a form:

“Obama wants lawful firearms dealers to fill out a form whenever someone purchases more than one long gun.

That must be some form! The administration claims it will help stop cartels from bringing drugs and mayhem to our country. Really?”

    http://politicalcorrection.org/blog/201108100010

Note that the Orlando suspect purchased at least long gun prior to the massacre. The NRA leadership and its shadowy backers in the gun industry have a clear milieu involving Mexican drug cartels, domestic right-wing terrorists, private security contractors, and the Muslim Brotherhood and Sunni takfiri networks.

[James Wesley] Howell was arrested Sunday after telling police officers he was en route to L.A. Pride where he “wanted to harm” the event. He was heavily armed with what police called a “small arsenal” in his car.

TMZ also reported that Howell was arrested within the last year after pointing a gun in a threatening manner at a neighbor during an argument. He agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of “intimidation” and the firearm charge was dropped. He’s still serving his one-year probation for that crime.

He gave the Louisville Metro Police Department a one-star review two months ago, saying, “They are slow AF so they only got one finger as I’m shifting gears.”

Howell’s Facebook account lists him as a former security guard at Universal Protection Services in Clarksville, Indiana. He also claimed to work at Geek Squad City in a position he labeled CIA [Counter Intelligence Agent].

Unlike the Orlando, Florida shooter, Howell is a young, white, midwestern man with a history of right-wing ideology, if his social media is any indication. He posted both anti-Hillary Clinton and anti-Barack Obama things on his social media as well as support for marjuana legalization. His last post on Facebook shows a meme comparing the Democratic presidential candidate to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

A June, 2015 video shows Howell shooting a rapid firing weapon into the ground saying it was “fun as hell.”

“It appears he [Mateen] was organized and well-prepared,” Orlando Police Chief John Mina said. Authorities said they haven’t found any accomplices.

Mateen was a normal husband at the beginning of their marriage but started abusing her after a few months, she [Sitora Yusufiy, now divorced and living in Colorado] said. She said Mateen was bipolar, although he was not formally diagnosed. She also said Mateen had a history with steroids. He was religious but she said she doesn’t think his religion played in to the attack.

Mateen had worked since 2007 as a security officer at G4S Secure Solutions, one of the world’s largest private security companies.

FBI Assistant Special Agent Ronald Hopper said the agency was aware of Mateen. The FBI interviewed him in 2013 and 2014 after he expressed sympathy for a suicide bomber, Hopper said.

Mateen was [allegedly] not under investigation at the time of Sunday’s shooting and was not under surveillance, Hopper said.

In the past two weeks, Mateen legally purchased a Glock pistol and a long gun, ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Trevor Velinor told reporters.

National media attention was already focused on Orlando over the weekend because of Friday night’s fatal shooting of Christina Grimmie while she signed autographs after a show. She was an up-and-coming singer who had appeared on NBC’s “The Voice.” Her shooter then killed himself. The Pulse shooting happened only a few miles from the Plaza Live theater, where Grimmie was killed.

Rob Ryan joined the Universal Protection Service management team in October 2008 as the Vice President of Sales in California, Colorado and Arizona, before returning to the East Coast to assume the same responsibilities for the Southeast Region, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has over 30 years of sales, marketing, training and management experience, and has enjoyed a 23–year career in the security industry, beginning in 1991 as the Sales Manager for American Protection Services in Buffalo, New York, where he played a major role in the company’s expansion throughout the East Coast.

Before joining Universal Protection Service, he served as the Northeast Region Vice President for G4S–Wackenhut Corporation, and managed a portfolio of business in excess of $150 million. He has held a variety of management positions in both operations and business development, and has been responsible for sales and operations teams at all levels, as well as high–level local, regional and national client relationships.

Little is known about the shooter [Kevin James Loibl, who is white like Howell], other than the fact his current address includes two other residents. He didn’t have a criminal record, nor did he have a permit for firearms.

Loibl was armed with two guns and a hunting knife, police said.

At Loibl’s home, in St. Petersburg, someone had left a note on the front door, expressing the “deepest sorrow” for the loss “to the family, friends & fans of the very talented, loving Christina Grimmie,” The Associated Press reported. The note said there would be no other comment. No one answered the door to the one-story house that had a rusted, metal animal trap in the yard.

Some have wondered why Mateen posed in several selfies wearing clothes bearing the insignias of the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Although the NYPD has denied any relation to the shooter, Mateen’s employer, G4S, has some interesting links to previous terrorist events. And it benefits from terrorism.

Mateen worked for the British company G4S since 2007. Throughout that time, G4S has been what people might call a private, special operations military outfit. It is said to be three times the size of the British military. In 2012, a G4S employee was charged with making a bomb threat at the Olympics. Similar bomb threats were connected to G4S in 2013 and May 2016.

Previously called Securicor, G4S provided security at all three airports affected by the 9/11 attacks. Securicor/G4S had bought Argenbright Security—the 9/11 airport security firm—just nine months before the 9/11 attacks. The company later ran operations at Guantanamo Bay.

  14. “Omar Mateen worked for G4S, formerly known as Wackenhut, currently the largest security firm in the world.

Before Wackenhut shed its name and became G4S, members included former FBI director Clarence Kelley, former Defense secretary and CIA deputy director Frank Carlucci, former Defense Intelligence Agency director Gen. Joseph Carroll, former Secret Service director James J. Rowley, former Marine commandant P.X. Kelley, former CIA deputy director Adm. Bobby Ray Inman, and previous to becoming CIA director, William J. Casey as outside legal counsel.

“The company’s board of directors reads like a who’s who of the intelligence community,” Joel Bleifuss wrote for In These Times in 1991. “The 1980s were a decade of privatization. As a for-profit intelligence service, Wackenhut appears to have taken on the kind of work that in earlier years the FBI and CIA would have done (and still do), albeit illegally.”

Casey is of particular interest. As the [right-wing, neoconservative Christian] director of the CIA during the Reagan years, he revitalized covert operations from Central America to Afghanistan. He was a central player in the Iran-Contra affair [and the aforementioned Iran–Contra–Turkish GLADIO (Grey Wolves/pan-Turkic Sunni Islamist/Erdogan/Muslim Brotherhood)–Afghan Islamist mujahideen milieu, a key component of which was drug smuggling]. During his tenure, Casey “lunged into covert operations with tireless ambition. With President Reagan’s support, Casey’s CIA supported the Afghan rebels against the Soviet incursion,” writes Robert Nash (Spies: A Narrative Encyclopedia of Dirty Tricks and Double Dealing from Biblical Times to Today).

The Afghan rebels became al-Qaeda and the Taliban [but mostly al-Qaeda, a drug-smuggling CIA/Saudi/Pakistani proxy].

“For years, Wackenhut has been involved with the CIA and other intelligence organizations, including the Drug Enforcement Agency. Wackenhut would allow the CIA to occupy positions within the company in order to carry out clandestine operations,” terrorism expert and CIA analyst, William Corbett, told SPY Magazine in 1992.

“It is known throughout the industry,” retired FBI special agent William Hinshaw told the magazine, “that if you want a dirty job done, call Wackenhut.”

Mateen was a follower of Marcus Dwayne Robertson, a former US Marine who acted as a bodyguard for the “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdul-Rahman. Robertson was the imam of the Orlando-based Fundamental Islamic Knowledge Seminary. In addition to working with the CIA, he was an FBI informant for 15 years. He is linked to al-Qaeda and the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993. See Mateen Associated with Former Bodyguard of CIA Operative Sheikh Omar Abdul-Rahman.”

[Note: this indicates that the managed story of Mateen’s being a deranged gay rather than an Islamist, which perfectly fits elitist conceptions of homosexuality as an immoral disorder, was very likely false and served to disguise the degree to which the CIA, its Saudi allies, and the deep state had indoctrinated Muslims as well as evangelical, especially right-wing, Protestants and Catholics in the U.S. and abroad. Note that Mateen’s former spouse initially described Mateen as religious but later changed her story, likely under pressure from the FBI and/or the CIA. Another managed story is the fabrication of Mateen’s alleged ties to ISIS, while a much more likely link is to al-Qaeda and Hezbollah, both of which DID work together opportunistically in the 1990s.]

“Court documents show that the security firm has repeatedly been sued for discriminating against employees for their race, sex and sexuality. Once hired, staff are not protected from bigoted coworkers: Four former security guards in Oregon filed a lawsuit last year because “ a devoutly Christian supervisor who told employees their gay family members were going to hell, played videos about the Illuminati and warned that the security kiosk could be attacked by demons,” according to the Law Enforcement Officers Security Union.

About 60,000 G4S employees operate in Afghanistan and throughout the Middle East, where it has a “dominant market presence across the region” as the largest multi-solution security provider, according to the company. Most of its profits come from cash management, cash transportation and private security, largely for financial institutions, foreign embassies and oil facilities [and thus serves as a conduit for covert intelligence operations, notably drug-smuggling, from Central Asia via the CIA and its Mediterranean–Latin American networks, as well as CIA/Saudi/Turkish/Qatari/Pakistani/NATO support for Islamist proxies]. Its “unique recruitment model” includes hiring mostly expatriates, though a WikiLeaks document showed that they are “getting an Iraqi face” by hiring more locals at their security firms in Iraq.”

“To pay for the Cold War, Harry Truman set out, as Arthur Vandenberg advised, to “Scare the Hell out of the American people.” A daunting task, considering the years of pro-Soviet accolades that had been previously flowing from the executive branch.

What were the targets singled out for demonization in the Cold War propaganda campaign? One of the chief aims of the government was to discredit dangerously parochial attitudes about the desirability of peace. It was also thought necessary to inoculate the public, particularly in Europe, against the virus of “neutralism.”

Further, since the American government had successfully entrenched the military industrial complex as a permanent feature of American life, US planners were eager to discredit the idea of “disarmament,” which meant … a return to the pre-war days when the union of government and business was more tenuous, government-connected profits were fleeting, and market discipline provided a check on consolidation.

The degree to which the press participated as a partner in the rhetoric of the Cold War was no accident. Media penetration was a major facet of CIA activities in both the foreign and domestic context. At its peak, the CIA allocated 29 percent of its budget to “media and propaganda.”

One report notes that the media organizations funded by the CIA in Europe included: the West German News agency DENA (later the DPA), the writers association PEN in Paris, a number of French newspapers, the International Forum of Journalists, and Forum World Features. The London-based Forum World Features provided stories to “140 newspapers around the world, including about 30 in the United States, amongst which were the Washington Post and four other major dailies.”

German media tycoon Axel Springer had received the then-substantial sum of more than $7 million from the Agency to build his press empire. His relationship with the CIA was reported to have extended through the 1970s. The New York Times reported that the CIA owned or subsidized more than 50 newspapers, news services, radio stations, and periodicals. The paper reported that at least another dozen were infiltrated by the CIA; more than 1,000 books either written directly or subsidized by the Agency were published during this period.

By the early 70s, it had been revealed that the head of the Hearst bureau in London was a CIA agent. Some suspicion was aroused among those editors not on the Company payroll, and inquiring minds among them wanted to know if CIA men were currently in their employ. Soon thereafter the Washington Star-News published a report claiming that some three-dozen journalists were on the payroll of the Agency. One agent was identified in the story as a member of the Star-News’ own staff. When the paper went belly up in 1981, the “journalist” in question went directly to work for the Reagan administration. Later, he joined the staff of the Washington Times.

When George Bush assumed the role of CIA director, he agreed to a single paragraph summary of each of its journalists for the Church committee. When it submitted the last of its data, the CIA had provided information on more than 400 journalists. The final Church report was a disappointment, having been audited by the CIA. A subsequent House investigation was suppressed, though a leak it was published in the Village Voice. The House report indicated that Reuters news service was frequently used for CIA disinformation, and that media manipulation may have been the “largest single category of covert action projects taken by the CIA.” According to the watchdog group Public Information Resource, propaganda expenses in the 70s may have exceeded $285 million a year. This was more than “the combined budgets of Reuters, United Press International, and the Associated Press.”

Propaganda in Latin America was more or less constant, as the CIA influenced elections, organized the torture and murder of dissidents, including priests, and backed brutal, but pro-American patsies throughout the region.

The efforts in manipulation of opinion in Latin America were reflected in similar campaigns at home. For instance: pro-contra public relations specialist Edgar Chamorro served as a conduit of disinformation from 1982 to 1984, manipulating journalists and Congressmen at the behest of the CIA. Though domestic propaganda is a violation of the law, it was a standard Agency tactic.

As a follow-up, the Reagan administration signed a law banning media disclosure of covert operations as a felony.

If reporters were often led to compromise their integrity at the behest of the warfare state, it was an example set at the highest levels of power in the American media. Press ownership, already concentrated to a ludicrous degree, shared a cozy relationship with the CIA from its start. Those chummy with the Company included Time-Life magnate Henry Luce, former Post owner Philip Graham and assorted New York Times owners in the Sulzberger family. Top editors of the Post and Newsweek have also served as agents, while the Post’s intelligence reporter was on the take from the CIA in the 60s. Katherine Graham, for decades owner of the Washington Post, had this to say to top CIA officials as the Berlin Wall was starting to crack. “There are some things the general public does not need to know and shouldn’t. I believe democracy flourishes when the government can take legitimate steps to keep its secrets and when the press can decide whether to print what it knows.”

The [neoconservative Christian-right] movement that culminated in the elevation of Ronald Reagan to the presidency was a product of those turbulent Cold War years, and perhaps more so a product of domestic intervention by the security state than many of its participants would care to admit. The armchair warriors in the neoconservative camp and the inveterate interventionists at National Review can both trace their roots straight back to the propaganda efforts of the CIA.

After the Hitler-Stalin pact, the neoconservatives moved from cafeteria Trotskyites to apologists for the US warfare state without missing a beat, as Justin Raimondo shows in his 1993 Reclaiming the American Right. The CIA’s role in establishing the influence of the neocons came out in the late 60s, though the revelations were obscured by the primary actors’ denials of knowledge of the covert funding. The premiere organization of the anti-Stalinist left, the Congress for Cultural Freedom, provided a base of operations to launch a left-intellectual [and budding neoconservative/Christian-right] crusade against the Soviet Union.

The Congress for Cultural Freedom was perhaps the Agency’s most ambitious attempt at control and influence of intellectual life throughout Europe and the world. Affiliates were established in America, Europe, Australia, Japan, Latin America, India, and Africa, although its appeal was limited in the Third World for obvious reasons. It combined concerts, conferences, and publishing efforts, promoting the State Department line on the Cold War. Magazines affiliated with the Congress included, among others, the China Quarterly, the New Leader and, of course, Encounter.

The funding of the Congress and similar fronts was organized through dozens of charitable trusts and nonprofit foundations, some of which were invented by the CIA. The money was made available through seemingly legitimate means to the Congress, as well as to political parties (including the German Social Democrats), unions and labor organizations, journalists’ unions, student groups, and any number of other organizations that could be counted on to support US [deep-state, special-interest] hegemony in Europe and the world.

The most complete story of the CIA and the Congress for Cultural Freedom is found in Peter Coleman’s apologetic book, The Liberal Conspiracy. Coleman, a former Australian barrister and editor of the Congress magazine, the Quadrant, lets slip quite a bit of revelatory information in his analysis of the Congress’s activities and its relationship to the CIA. The common targets of Congress literature, as Coleman notes, are familiar: the literature was anti-Communist, [Christian-democratic], and anti-neutralist. Other aims promoted by the Congress were cataloged by William Blum: “a strong, well-armed, and united Western Europe, allied to the United States….support for … NATO…and…skepticism of disarmament [and] pacifism. Criticism of US foreign policy took place within the framework of cold war assumptions; for example that a particular American intervention was not the most effective way of combating communism, not that there was anything wrong with intervention per se….” F.A. Hayek commented that the Congress’ strategic agenda was “not to plan the future of freedom, but to write its obituary.”

Among those involved with the Congress were James Burnham, Irving Kristol, Gertrude Himmelfarb, Daniel Bell, Arthur Schlesinger, Lionel Trilling, and the self-described “life-long Menshevik” Sidney Hook. After World War Two, Kristol worked as the editor for the American Jewish Committee’s Commentary magazine, then served as editor of Encounter from 1953 to 1958.

The Congress was organized by Kristol’s boss and CIA man Michael Josselson, who maintained a tight grip on the activities of the Congress as well as the content of its publications. According to Coleman, Josselson’s criteria for his editors was simple: they had to be reliable on the State Department line. Later, Kristol was to deny he knew the organization was a front. This seems unlikely for several reasons. For one, Sidney Hook stated that “like almost everyone else,” he had heard that “the CIA was making some contribution to the financing of the Congress.” More to the point, as Tom Braden, then head of the CIA’s International Organizations division, wrote in a Saturday Evening Post article, a CIA agent always served as editor of Encounter. Today, Kristol is a kind of svengali in the modern [neoconservative] world.

Neoconservative prominence and influence owes quite a bit to the covert activities of this government, something they forget only rarely, as with the case of neocon Richard Perle who was caught funneling information to one of our “reliable allies” while in the Reagan administration.

While waging the CIA’s battle, the neocons were not yet billing themselves as conservatives. But the National Review was another matter, a journal aimed specifically at the American right wing. The official line holds that National Review was founded in an intellectual vacuum, and, for all intents and purposes, created conservatism in America. But events, as are most often the case, were not that simple. The idea for National Review originated with Willi Schlamm, a hard-line interventionist and feature editor with the Old Right Freeman. At odds with the isolationism of the right, Schlamm was well-known for his belligerence, having demanded that the United States go to war over Formosa.

One person in a position to know more details about the founding of NR was the late classicist and right-winger Revilo Oliver. Although late in life Oliver was associated most closely with extremist racialism, in the 50s, he was an influential member of the Buckley inner circle, a regular contributor to National Review and a member of Bill Buckley’s wedding party. Later, he went on to serve as a founding board member of the John Birch Society, until his break with the Society’s founder Robert Welch.

In his autobiography, Oliver explains that the National Review was conceived as a way to put the isolationist Freeman out of business. A surreptitious deal was cut with one of the Freeman editors (presumably Schlamm) to turn the magazine over to Buckley; a last-ditch effort saved the magazine, and control was assumed by Leonard E. Read, president of the Foundation for Economic Education. Unfortunately, Read balked at “politics,” i.e., analyzing and criticizing government actions, and the magazine quickly slipped into irrelevance.

It’s hard to blame the editors of the Freeman for failing to see Buckley’s treachery coming. As late as 1954, Buckley was denouncing the US military as incompatible with a free society. Soldiers emerging from the armed forces, Buckley argued, were brainwashed with militaristic platitudes.

Buckley’s decision to launch the National Review was a watershed event on the right by any measure. As Buckley’s admiring social-democratic biographer John Judis notes, “Except for Chodorov, who was a Buckley family friend, none of the right-wing isolationists were included on National Review’s masthead. While this point of view had been welcome in the Freeman, it would not be welcome, even as a dissenting view, in National Review.”

As Judis notes, Schlamm, who envisioned himself as the guiding light behind NR, was not even a conservative. He “had more in common with Dwight MacDonald or Daniel Bell than with Robert McCormick…”

Buckley, by 1955, had already been in deep cover for the CIA. While there is some confusion as to the actual duration of Buckley’s service as an agent, Judis notes that he served under E. Howard Hunt of Watergate fame in Mexico City in 1951. Buckley was directed to the CIA by Yale Professor Wilmoore Kendall, who passed Buckley along to James Burnham, then a consultant to the Office Of Policy Coordination, the CIA’s covert-action wing.

Buckley apparently had a knack for spying: before his stint with the Agency, he had served as an on-campus informant for the FBI, feeding God only knows what to Hoover’s political police. In any case, it is known that Buckley continued to participate at least indirectly in CIA covert activities through the 60s.

The founding circle of National Review was composed largely of former agents or men otherwise in the pay of the CIA, including Buckley, Kendall, and Burnham. Wall Street lawyer William Casey, rooted in OSS activities and later to be named director of the CIA, drew up the legal documents for the new magazine. (He also helped transfer Human Events from isolationist to interventionist hands.)

NR required nearly half a million to get off the ground; the only substantial contribution known was from Will Buckley, Senior: $100,000. It’s long been rumored that CIA black funds were used to start the magazine, but no hard evidence exists to establish it. It may also be relevant that the National Review was organized as a nonprofit venture, as covert funding was typically channeled through foundations.

By the 70s, it was known that Buckley had been an agent. More imaginative [read: penetrating and critical] right-wingers accused Buckley of complicity in everything from the assassination of JFK to the Watergate break-in, undoubtedly owing to his relationship with the mysterious Hunt.

But [other people] also believed that something was suspicious about the National Review. In a syndicated column, Gary Wills wondered, “Was National Review, with four ex-agents of the CIA on its staff, a CIA operation? If so, the CIA was stingy, and I doubt it – but even some on the editorial board raised the question. And the magazine supported Buckley’s old CIA boss, Howard Hunt, and publicized a fund drive for him.” In reply, Buckley denounced Wills for being a classicist. But others close to the founding circle of National Review nurtured similar suspicions. Libertarian “fusionist” Frank Meyer, for example, confided privately that he believed that the National Review was a CIA front.

What FDR tried and failed to do when he sought to shut down the Chicago Tribune, when his attorney general held mass sedition trials of his critics on the right, and when he orchestrated one of the worst smear campaigns in US history against his conservative opponents, the CIA accomplished. That in itself ought to lead conservatives to oppose the existence of executive agencies engaged in covert operations.

Today, the war-mongering right is self-sustaining. Money flows like milk and honey to neoconservative activists from the major conservative foundations. Irving’s son Bill Kristol has his sugar daddy in the form of media tycoon and alien Rupert Murdoch. National Review is boring, but in no danger of going under financially.

But the cozy relationship with the federal government is the same. Neocons Bill Kristol and Robert Kagan now insist on massive extensions of the warfare state.”

The list author says: “What most Americans mistakingly regard today as the “Conservative movement” has undergone many convoluted and dramatic transformations over the past sixty years. Perhaps the most keen observer has been Murray N. Rothbard, the internationally acclaimed economist and historian. How this disinformation process began is detailed in three insightful articles, “Life in the Old Right,” “The Foreign Policy of the Old Right,” and “The Transformation of the American Right,” available online. However, Rothbard’s long-awaited book, The Betrayal of the American Right, tells the full story of how this subversive movement at war with American liberties and the rule of law, came about. “Conservatism,” since the days of Burke and Robespierre, has stood for the status quo and an apologia for tyranny.”

  15. “…if Turkey really believes that the US Empire was behind an actual conspiracy carried out to destroy Erdogan, why after only a day or so would Erdogan allow the US to resume using its Incirlik Air Base again? After all, such a covert criminal offense would be considered an act of war. Why wouldn’t all diplomatic relations be immediately cut off and all American Embassy personnel sent home? In all likelihood, the entire weekend’s events was a joint false flag operation by both Turkey and the United States. The US continues to protect Gulen and his global methods of preaching jihadism worldwide while a fake spat erupts temporarily between Empire and its longtime crucial NATO puppet ally Turkey. This is perhaps the most viable explanation and how clandestine backroom deals are typically forged under false pretenses on the geopolitics chessboard. Potential blackmail maintains the lie that keeps all the criminal players in check. And increased authoritarian control in one country is good for increasing authoritarian control in all countries according to New World Order’s code of psychopathic conduct.

And whether he alone staged the false flag or US-Gulen forces staged a botched coup, or all parties are guilty to one extent or another by either complicit or actively plotted and executed design, Erdogan still holds another three million more Syrian refugees he can unleash at any time to Europe as punishment should he be exposed and held accountable. In effect, Erdogan holds the cards to further extort more concessions over and above the $6 billion the EU’s already agreed to cough up to make him stop flooding yet more refugees onto the European continent that’s already teetering on the brink of total self-destruction.

It’s the grossest form of perverse injustice when the likes of the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Turkey have collectively created the terrorists and caused the wars driving the mass migration crisis, with Israel and Saudi Arabia flatly refusing to accept refugees, and Turkey holding power to extort a weakened, compromised Europe into accepting Turkey’s heavy-handed coercion into EU membership while further charging extortion fees, then threatening to create a far worst crisis if additional demands aren’t met. On top of that, the barbaric conditions and criminal abuses perpetrated especially inside the Turkish refugee camps have resulted in yet another appalling humanitarian crisis.”

  16. A perfect example is the “coaching” of elite-backed candidates, modulated through deep-state-linked media and institutions, according to the needs of special interests at the moment—i.e., scripted responses to make sure that the dialectic of managed stories is effective.

An illustration is the neoconservative effort to manage Trump’s rhetoric, distancing it from the more cloaked language of the Republican establishment, thereby masking the fact that Trump’s views and the establishment’s are essentially the same and that Trump, like Clinton and even Sanders, is an establishment candidate—as evinced by his close relationship with his ostensible foes in the “elite liberal” media, including establishment luminary and CIA front Time magazine (which, like the rest of the corporate media, is also cozy with the Clinton and Bush dynasties).

Another is the effort, spanning decades since the 1960s, to insinuate radical, deep-state-backed entities into society by presenting them as representative institutions rather than special interests bent on controlling segments of the population. This effort ultimately works to radicalize the populace, working through other means as well, including drugs, ensuring destabilization and militarization that works to the benefit of the deep state and its affiliated elites.

For instance, the CIA-backed, Muslim Brotherhood-controlled CAIR is presented as a civil-liberties advocacy organization on behalf of all Muslims rather than a deep-state-backed effort to spread Islamism, in covert concert with related efforts to present right-wing evangelical Protestant and Catholic extremists—who, despite their public rhetoric, are part of a dialectic to control society while working with Islamists, whose views they largely share, behind the scenes—as merely representative Christians.

Similarly, the Farrakhan-led Nation of Islam, another CIA front, and a number of far-left organizations rooted in identity politics (of the “left” persuasion, similar to “right-wing” identity politics) present themselves as authentic representatives of their purported constituencies, while actually serving as radical provocateurs and agents of the deep state as well as transnational, supranational elites.

Many of the radical, dogmatic, violent Maoists, Trotskyists, and assorted Marxist-Leninists of the 1960s, 1970s, and later decades discredited genuine social reformers, thereby dovetailing perfectly with the aims of deep-state interests and elites. These groups have infiltrated and co-opted numerous progressive milieus, including Black Lives Matter, and are aided by the subterranean drugs-and-arms milieu and its ties to deep-state entities, corporations, and the military-industrial-intelligence complex.

The pseudo-left, the fundamentalist Christian right, and Islamism share an elitist, anti-egalitarian, authoritarian, often racist mindset. All are modern rather than ancient products of the centralized state-market system, and all are ultimately traceable to the same nationalist, racialist, corporatist milieu, datable to the late nineteenth century, that exerted a great influence on, and ultimately produced, fascism and Nazism.

This milieu, based in Western Europe (home of the major colonial powers and their financial institutions) and the U.S., also exerted a cross-cultural influence on late Tsarist Russia, especially via anti-Semitism and nationalist pan-Slavism, and the budding Soviet regime, especially its emergent Stalinist center.

There is substantial evidence that the NRA acts as a deep-state front with substantial ties to the military-industrial-intelligence complex. In particular, the NRA has ties to private security contractors and their advocates in the arms industry, such as Eric Prince (a right-wing neoconservative and former CEO of Blackwater) and Oliver North, among others, who in turn are deeply implicated in multinational defense corporations that serve as cover for CIA drug-running operations, which have involved recruitment of al-Qaeda assets, particularly along the vital Central Asian–Mediterranean–Latin American route to the U.S., the world’s largest importer of deadly drugs.

Despite the NRA’s claim to be a civil-liberties organization dedicated to the perpetuation of Second-Amendment rights, it is in fact a lobbying group, working on behalf of deep-state interests, and has very little to do with its ostensible mission. The very scope and intensity of its efforts indicates that it is a well-funded, highly connected, amply-placed operation, not a lone resistance movement against the elite liberal establishment and its gun-grabbing milieu.

Notably, NRA executive Wayne LaPierre and his allies, including paid-off members of Congress, have repeatedly blocked efforts to monitor and regulate the flow of high-capacity rifles that could be exploited by domestic terrorist networks, such as the right-wing nationalist groups, including white supremacists, as well as Islamists, that form core components of the NRA’s constituency in the deep-state milieu, which relies on dialectical and systemic destabilization on behalf of wealthy global elites. These radical groups—right-wing extremists, Islamists, and far-left extremists—have been implicated in probable false-flag attacks on deep-state targets, such as gays and non-Islamist Muslims, including the probable false-flag attacks in San Bernardino and Orlando, both attacks being sponsored by deep-state intelligence assets.

Evidence indicates that the Federal Narcotics Bureau, the FBI, and the CIA are, for various reasons, implicated in the transport of undocumented migrants with ties to criminal syndicates, notably Mexican and other Latin American drug cartels, to the U.S., where they are released. In turn, other illegals with no criminal ties are detained indefinitely while the real criminals, who are intimately tied to the CIA, international deep-state networks, and global corporate elites, are released from jail or prison. These illegals form the core of many drug-funded ethnic gangs in the U.S.

Notably, G4S, a right-wing, CIA-backed global security contractor with ties to Central Asian drug trafficking, staffs many of the American prisons in which illegals are housed, thereby making it an ideal conduit for intelligence operations, including the recruitment of drug-running assets and informers. G4S also ran many security components at Guantanamo Bay, where alleged al-Qaeda suspects (in all likelihood patsies for the real al-Qaeda terrorists) have been held indefinitely without trial. G4S has been implicated in the employment of the Orlando terrorist suspect and other Islamists as well as right-wing extremists.

that not all 9/11-Truth-Movement forums and websites are the genuine article, but that the most apparently successful ones will have been infiltrated by people whose agenda is diametrically opposed to finding out the truth about what really happened that day, and where the responsibility lies. And some of them have found devious ways to confuse, even calling into question the honesty or the eyesight of hundreds, if not thousands, of witnesses whose heads were already turned towards the smoking North Tower when the
second plane hit the South Tower.

The events of 9/11 defined this century. Devastating wars were launched and [thousands] of … people have been killed, mutilated and traumatized because of the criminal misconceptions forced on us by [people] in
the U.S. administration of the time; misconceptions which the current [Obama] administration has done nothing to correct. That monumental task has been taken on by a worldwide movement of concerned individuals and groups who are certain that we were not told the truth about what happened on 9/11 or
which … entities were involved with the perpetrators who shut down NORAD, for example.

…It is important that we all stay focused on one thing: Getting a new inquiry launched, and the more the 9/11 Truth Movement is distracted from this aim, the less likely that we shall succeed. The case for a new inquiry about the Pentagon is inherent in the fact that a plane was never forensically identified, and that the images from the estimated 80-or-so surveillance cameras surrounding what should have been one of the most secure areas on the planet have all been suppressed. What actually happened is, therefore,
almost beside the point, the point being that what was said to have happened almost certainly did not.

Judges, after hearing a not-guilty verdict, do not turn to the jury and ask: “Well, if he didn’t do
it, who did?” It is up to the relevant law enforcement agencies to recommence their inquiries. What happened, initially, in New York was obvious, because real people saw it happen, and because
so many videos captured what happened to the South Tower. But, once again, the planes were not forensically identified … so the official story was [most likely] a total fabrication. Although the no-
planes-in-New York theorists have been recognized as either fools or monumental liars—by those who can think for themselves—they have given many a mainstream-media lackey an excuse to bundle all of those who are genuinely seeking the truth into one single category:

Foil-hatted nutters [and anti-American traitors opposed to war and the deep state] who don’t even think that real planes hit the Twin Towers.”

Erdogan’s intent in punishing the Kurds is to gain the sympathy of Turkish voters in the next parliamentary elections, enabling his party to win an outright majority and establish an autocratic presidential theocracy.

To conceal its deception and mislead the American public, within days of starting its war on the Kurds, Ankara hired Squire Patton Boggs for $32,000 a month, as a subcontractor to the powerful lobbying firm, the Gephardt Group. Squire Patton Boggs includes former Senators Trent Lott and John Breaux, and retired White House official Robert Kapla. The Gephardt lobbying team for Turkey consists of subcontractors Greenberg Traurig, Brian Forni, Lydia Borland, and Dickstein Shapiro LLP; the latter recently added to its lobbying staff former CIA Director Porter Goss. Other lobbying firms hired by Turkey are: Goldin Solutions, Alpaytac, Finn Partners, Ferah Ozbek, and Golin/Harris International. According to US Justice Department records, Turkey pays these lobbying/public relations firms around $5 million a year. Furthermore, several US non-profit organizations serve as fronts for the Turkish government to promote its interests in the United States and take Members of Congress and journalists on all-expense paid junkets to Turkey.

It is significant that Dickstein Shapiro LLP, Mr. Goss’s employer, misled the Justice Department, by reporting two days prior to the start of his employment and three days before the Armenian Genocide Centennial, that the former CIA Director had already met on behalf of his lobbying firm with nine members of Congress to discuss “US-Turkish relations.”

Most probably, hiring Porter Goss as a lobbyist for Turkey was a reward for his staunch support of Turkish issues, while serving as a Republican Congressman from Florida from 1989 to 2004. During the October 2000 debate on the Armenian Genocide resolution in the House International Relations Committee, Cong. Goss, the then Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, testified against the adoption of the resolution, using the excuse that it would harm US-Turkey relations. Nevertheless, the genocide resolution was adopted by a vote of 24 to 11.

This is more than unethical; it is a grave risk to US national security. The American government must not allow the sale of its top spymaster to the highest bidder! What if North Korea offered him a higher price? Would Mr. Goss jump ship and lobby for an enemy state just to make a few more dollars?”

  19. “Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein greets Donald Rumsfeld, then special envoy of U.S. President Ronald Reagan, in Baghdad on December 20, 1983. He gave him a pair of golden cowboy spurs – a present from Reagan.

This meeting took place before one of the most shocking war crimes since the second world war – Iraq’s 1988 gassing of the Kurds in Halabjah. This meeting took place at a time when Iraq was first alleged to have used chemical weapons, and it paved the way for an official restoration of relations between Iraq and the US, which had been severed since the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

In March 1984, with the Iran-Iraq war was in full swing, Rumsfeld was back in Baghdad for meetings with the Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz. On the day of his visit, March 24th 1984, UPI reported from the United Nations that mustard gas laced with a nerve agent has been used on Iranian soldiers.

Furthermore, in the same year, the Reagan administration played a key role in the genocide of the Kurd’s and supplied the helicopters that Iraq used to drop chemical weapons on them. In 1984, according to The LA Times, the State Department in the name of increased American penetration of the extremely competitive civilian aircraft market pushed through the sale of 45 Bell helicopters to Iraq. The New York Times later reported that Saddam transferred many, if not all [of these helicopters] to his military.

It was Rumsfeld’s trip to Baghdad which opened of the floodgates during 1985-90 for lucrative US weapons exports to Iraqi dictatorship – some $1.5 billion worth – including chemical/biological and nuclear weapons equipment and technology, along with critical components for missile delivery systems.

In 1988, When Iraq attacked Kurdish civilians with poisonous gas from Iraqi helicopters and planes. US intelligence sources told The LA Times in 1991, they believe that the American-built helicopters were among those dropping the deadly bombs”.

In the same year, the Chicago Tribune Magazine listed among Rumsfeld’s achievements helping to reopen US relations with Iraq. The Tribune failed to mention that this help came at a time when, according to the US State Department, Iraq was actively using chemical weapons. How did the U.S. end up so close to the Baathists in Iraq ? They backed them in two coups in Iraq in 1963 and 1968.

Evidence suggests that Hussein was already working as a CIA agent in 1958, and that he may well have recruited by them in the previous year. There was no way the the US or the U.K. was ever going to allow a popular and secular Communist party to come to power…

A military coup in 1958 coup brought to power Abd al Karim Qassim. Hussein participated in a 1959 attempt to assassinate Qassim. The assassins killed Qassim’s driver and wounded Qassim, but not fatally. One of the assassins was killed, and Hussein was shot in the leg and got away.

After the botched assassination, Hussein had to flee Iraq. He spent the next four years in the Lebanon, Egypt and Syria, the only period he has lived outside Iraq. While Hussein was in Beirut, the CIA paid for his apartment and put him through a brief training course, former CIA officials said according to Richard Sale writing for the United Press. The agency then helped him get to Cairo, where he attended law school in Cairo and is believed to have made frequent visits to the U.S. embassy there, according to Eric Star writing in Star Tribune on February 2nd 2003 (A history of Iraq, the cradle of Western civilization). Star writes that:

The Iraqi Baathists and the CIA had a common interest in getting rid of pro-Soviet Qassim. Several authors believe that Saddam was helping the CIA and the Baathists coordinate a coup.

The CIA’s role in 1963 coup was “substantial.”

CIA agents were in touch with army officers who helped in the coup, operated an electronic command center in Kuwait to guide the anti-Qassim forces, and like in Indonesia in 1965, supplied the conspirators with lists of people to be killed. A former senior CIA official said: “It was a bit like the mysterious killings of Iran’s communists just after Ayatollah Khomeini came to power in 1979. All 4,000 of his communists suddenly got killed.” Aburish confirms this saying that

“The relationship between the Americans and the Baath Party at that moment in time was very close indeed”.

This is supported by Miles Copeland, a veteran CIA operative, reported in the United Press that the CIA had enjoyed “close ties” with Qasim’s ruling Baath Party, just as it had close connections with the intelligence service of Egyptian leader Gamel Abd Nassar. In a recent public statement, Roger Morris, a former National Security Council staff member in the 1970s, confirmed this claim, saying that the CIA had chosen the authoritarian and anti-Communist Baath Party “as its instrument.”

We came to power on a CIA train, admitted Ali Saleh Sa’adi, the Baath Party secretary general. CIA assistance also reportedly included coordination of the coup from the inside the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad as well as a clandestine radio station in Kuwait and “solicitation of advice from around the Middle East on who on the left should be eliminated once the coup was successful”.

In 1968, the Baathists seized power again – Hussein became vice president and head of security services in the new regime, serving under Bakr, and soon emerged as the real power behind the throne.

Some writers claim that the CIA played a role in the 1968 coup, as well. Roger Morris, a former State Department foreign service officer who was on the NSC staff during the Johnson and Nixon administrations, says the CIA had a hand in two coups in Iraq during 1963 and 1968. According to David Morgan in his article Ex-U.S. Official Says CIA Aided Baathists CIA. First, Morris said that Saddam Hussein was first recruited by the CIA in 1958 -” There’s no question – It was there in Cairo that (Saddam) and others were first contacted by the agency.” In 1968, Morris says, the CIA encouraged a palace revolt among Baath party elements led by Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr, who would turn over the reins of power to Hussein in 1979. “It’s a regime that was unquestionably midwived by the United States, and the (CIA’s) involvement there was really primary,” Morris says.

King Hussein of Jordan attributed the success of the Iraqi Baath Party in the late 60s entirely to the support it received from the CIA, at the time heavily involved in fighting communism on all fronts – especially in the Arab world.

Iraq’s Deputy Chief of Army Intelligence Col. Abdel Razaq Al Nayyef later said, “for the 1968 coup you must look to Washington.”

“Working with Saddam made sense to the CIA … [because] he was not a communist and [in fact] was an anti-communist.”

  20. “Nearly all of today’s radical Islamic groups, including al-Qaeda, trace their lineage to the Brotherhood.

“The Muslim Brothers are at the root of a lot of our troubles,” says Col. W. Patrick Lang, one of several US intelligence veterans interviewed for this article . Formerly a high-ranking Middle East expert at the Defense Intelligence Agency Lang considers al-Qaeda to be “a descendant of the Brotherhood.

For many years, the American espionage establishment had operated on the assumption that Islam was inherently anti-communist and there fore could be harnessed to facilitate US objectives. American officials viewed the Muslim Brotherhood as “a secret weapon” in the shadow war against the Soviet Union and it’s Arab allies, according to Robert Baer, a retired CIA case officer who was right in the thick of things in the Middle East and Central Asia during his 21 year career as a spy. In Sleeping with the Devil, a book he wrote after quitting the CIA Baer explains how the United States “made common cause with the Brothers” and used them “to do our dirty work in Yemen, Afghanistan and plenty of other places”.

Described by ex-CIA analyst Graham Fuller as “the preeminent international Islamist organization,” the Muslim Brotherhood currently has a huge following with autonomous branches, all in close contact, spread across the Arab world.

After seizing power in a 1952 military coup Egyptian Col. Gamal Abdul Nasser quickly threw prominent Communists in jail. This raised eyebrows among US cloak-and-dagger operatives who were eager to oblige when Nasser requested help in upgrading Egypt’s ineffectual secret service. But the US government “found it highly impolitic to help him directly,” the late CIA agent Miles Copeland acknowledged in his memoirs, The Game of Nations , so the CIA subcontracted more than a hundred German Third Reich vets, who specialized in Nazi security and interrogation techniques, to do the job.

…US officials grew wary of Nasser, who seemed like a loose cannon on the deck of Middle Eastern politics. A fervent pan-Arab nationalist, he rebuffed American appeals to join a neutralist coalition of Third World nations that favored an independent stance during the Cold War. Non-alignment in the East-West conflict was an abomination to CIA director Allen Dulles and he bristled at Nasser’s growing stature as a charismatic leader who could galvanize Arabs and Muslims far beyond Egypt, “If that colonel of yours pushes us too far, we will break him in half,” Dulles admonished Copeland, the CIA’s man-on-the-spot in Cairo.

American spies opted for pushing “the opiate of the masses,” as Karl Marx s[o] famously described religion.

There were notable precedents for marshaling religious sentiment to advance America’s Cold War agenda. In 1948, the fledgling CIA enlisted the cooperation of the Vatican and Catholic Action, the largest Catholic lay organization in Italy, in a successful campaign to deliver the vote and vanquish left-wing parties in a hotly contested Italian election. Although Muslims have no pope or authoritative religious hierarchy, CIA strategists figured they could win over Arab hearts and minds by manipulating Islamic piety. Copeland recounts in The Game of Nations how the CIA engaged in black propaganda operations in Egypt that sought to demonstrate “Soviet ungodliness” by circulating anti-Islamic literature – including books with titles like Against the Veil and Mohammed Never Existed – while attributing its distribution to the Soviet embassy.

What the CIA really needed, according to Copeland was a “religious spellbinder” to alter Arab opinion and “divert the growing stream of anti-American hostility” . As Copeland recalled, “I wanted to find and groom a messiah who would start out in Egypt, and then spread his word to Africans and perhaps other Third World peoples. Our Chosen One would immunize them against false prophets,” I.e., Nasser and other non-aligned nationalist leaders.

Miles knew “from what was happening in America that a religious movement didn’t have to make sense in order to attract adherents,” as he put it. He was referring to Billy Graham’s sick gospel and salvation road show, which drew huge crowds across the USA in the early 1950’s. The meteoric transformation of this dime-a-dozen, [a] Protestant … into a big time celebrity evangelist evidently made quite an impression on Copeland, who came up with the bright idea to sponsor “a Moslem Billy Graham…”

While on the prowl for a Muslim Billy Graham, Copeland reached out to leaders of the religious revival movement known as the Ikhwan, or Muslim Brotherhood, which sought to build an Islamic society from the bottom up. The seeds of a clandestine relationship between the CIA and the Ikhwan were planted by Copeland, who surmised that the Muslim Brothers, by virtue of their strong antipathy to Arab nationalism as well as Communism, might be a viable counterweight to Nasser in the years ahead, US intelligence would become a de facto partner of the Brotherhood as it evolved from a mass-based social reform organization into the wellspring of Islamic terrorism.

When a group of young Egyptian army officers led by Col. Nasser toppled the pro-British monarchy, the Muslim Brotherhood gave them full support. But the Brothers soon had a falling out with Nasser when it became apparent that he did not intend to establish an Islamic state. Egypt’s secular strongman cracked down hard on the Muslim Brethren, which comprised the largest organized popular force in the country and the last obstacle to his autocratic leadership. Nasser’s aim was not to banish religious expression from the political domain, but to prohibit any religious expression that was not government controlled.

In the wake of failed assassination attempt against Nasser in October 1954, Egyptian authorities outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood, jailed and tortured thousands of its members and killed several of its leaders.

Saudi Arabia became a magnet for many persecuted Islamist refugees not only from Egypt but also from Syria, Iraq, Libya and other Arab states where the Muslim Brothers were perceived as a threat to the secular, nationalist order. Ikhwani expatriates were welcomed by the oil-rich Saudi monarchy, which became the principal patron of the Brotherhood on the Arabian Peninsula and elsewhere. A strategic US ally, the Saudi royal family was so hostile to godless Communism that it did not even maintain diplomatic relations with Moscow.

American intelligence formed a three-way tryst with the Saudis and the Muslim Brothers, according to Robert Baer, the former case officer in the CIA’s Directorate of Operations, With the CIA’s implicit approval, the Saudi royals channeled funds to the Brothers, who joined a US-backed anti-Nasser insurgency in Yemen in 1962.

To give a boost to Islamic proselytizing the Saudis with CIA encouragement, founded the Muslim World League in 1962. Underwritten initially by several donors including the Saudi-based Aramco oil consortium (then a CIA collaboration), the League established a formidable international presence with representatives in 120 countries. Members of the Muslim Brotherhood occupied key staff positions at the League while it disseminated anti-communist religious propaganda and sponsored the construction of mosques and Islamic center’s around the world.

Exiled Ikhwani were also employed as teachers and imams in Saudi mosques, schools and government agencies, where they promoted the extremist doctrine of Sayyid Qutb, the Brotherhood’s leading scribe and theorist. Executed in 1966 after 10 years of confinement in Egyptian torture chambers, Qutb is arguably the most influential [figure] in [Islamism]. He fashioned a lethal variant of political Islam that provided a Koranic justification for violence as the only way to rid the Muslim world of corrupting Western influences.

After Nasser died in 1970, the Muslim Brethren, buoyed by Saudi petrodollars, resurfaced in Egypt. The newly emboldened Ikhwani were wooed by President Anwaar Sadat, Nasser’s successor, who freed Islamic activists from jail, lifted some restrictions on the Brothers, and turned them loose against the Nasserite die-hards and leftist student groups who disapproved of Sadat’s decision to make amends with the United States. Sadat’s courtship of the Brotherhood elicited more winks and nods from US intelligence. Right under the CIA’s nose, the officially-banned by semi-tolerated Muslim Brotherhood was going through a momentous transformation in its country of origin.

The heads of two Brotherhood breakaway factions – the Egyptian Islamic Jhad of Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri and the Islamic Group of Sheik Omar Abdei Rahman – were among those [including other Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated, CIA-backed, drug-smuggling “anti-Soviet volunteers” in Afghanistan] implicated in the 1981 assassination of President Sadat.

Muslim Brotherhood veterans have played a prominent role during every phase of bin Laden’s terrorist odyssey. As a college student he was mentored by Abdullah Azzam, a Palestinian Brother, who convinced the young Saudi to join the anti-Soviet jihad in Afghanistan…

In 1984, Azzam and bin Laden jointly set up the Service Bureay, based in Peshawar, which played a pivotal role in organizing Islamic militants from 43 countries, including the United States, who flocked to Pakistan’s North-West Frontier territory to [enter Afghanistan]. With contacts spread across North Africa and the Middle East the Muslim Brotherhood was instrumental in recruiting many of these foreign Islamic volunteers. Jane’s Defence Weekly estimates that 14,000 of the so-called “Afghan Arabs” (though none were Afghans and many were not Arabs) trained in guerrilla camps, where paramilitary drills were infused with radical Islamic teachings.

“The militant wing of the Muslim Brotherhood is essentially what we’re facing today,” asserts Baer.”

  21. “How They Respond to Opposition!”

    – Today, fronted by the powerful family banking dynasties of Europe, the Black Nobility exercise supremacy over the world’s governments, as well as their economies, and even their cultures. Ultimately, they are an international network, existing in a parallel world, straddled between fronts of legitimacy, and activities on the black market and in the underground.

Their method of conquest is to wholly demoralize the societies of the world, wrecking their very fabric, by promoting every vice, including sexual depravity, greed and war. By enslaving the nations of the world through colossal debt, they ensure subservience, and guarantee the slow transfer of their sovereignty to global government. By encouraging stock market speculation, they siphon off the wealth of the ignorant masses. In the end, by creating a global economic cataclysm of untold magnitude, they intend to demonstrate to humanity their own ineptitude, and offer their reign as salvation, by implementing a global fascist state, to be governed by their expected messiah.

One of the most profound characteristics of the black nobility is their ongoing need to remove any individual that represents a threat to their interests. History is littered with example after example of men and women who were murdered in cold blood as a result of making one step too far. –

      2. DRAGON WORSHIP

        New Age / Occultism

        – How long will we look the other way while people are ravaged by false teaching’s promoted by men who spread their own miracle rumors?

It was E.W. Kenyon in his book the Hidden man on pg.99 wrote, “I know that I am healed because he said that I am healed and it makes no difference what the symptoms may be in my body.” An example would be if they are coughing and you say you have a cough they respond by “no I don’t, I haven’t had a cough in years.” That’s called denial of reality at best, and lying at worst.

This is what was adopted by Kenneth Hagin who writes in his book “In the name of Jesus” on the topic of divine healing and health. “I have so often said, I haven’t had a headache in so many years (45 to be exact) … Just a few months ago, as I left the office building and started home, suddenly my head started hurting, someone might say, “well, you had a headache. No, I didn’t have one! I don’t have headaches. I haven’t had a headache since August 1934. 45 years have come and gone. And I haven’t had a headache…but if I had a headache, I wouldn’t tell anybody. And if somebody asked me how I was feeling, I would say, I’m fine, thank you.” (In the Name of Jesus, p.44) Notice he says he wouldn’t tell you how he really feels because his words override the pain. Is this honest? Is it true? Is this the way someone is to represent the Lord. Did Jesus teach this nonsense? Of course not.

E.W. Kenyon studied at the Emerson College of Oratory in Boston which was a hotbed at the time for the emerging New Age thought. They imagined they have discovered laws of faith, promoting a Christianized version of occultism. –

        THE PRINCIPLES OF DRAGON WORSHIP

        – The Bible teaches the whole world worships the ‘Dragon’. There are three basic tenents to Dragon worship; and they might surprise you: 1. Do what you will. You decide what is wrong and right. 2. If it makes you happy then do it; since Pleasure is the goal. 3. Listen to your heart, let your heart be your guide, since your heart is the true dictator of truth….

Satan is the god of this world, and he is adored and followed by the multitudes. Only a hand full of people openly worship him as the devil. The vast majority follow him in his different forms. You may say, “I don’t worship the devil”, but if these three tenets are a part of your life, then you are a worshipper of the dragon, if you realize it or not. The devilish book, “Satanism 101″ agrees:

“The worship of Satan is not a vital part of Satanism. You do not have to worship Satan to be a Satanist…. As long as you follow the Satanic way of life you can call yourself a Satanist” – Chapter 1, of Satanism 101. –

        SOON

        – And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

  22. I am not the intolerant one, the supposed agent of Satan or (an)other dark force(s). The intolerant one is whoever wishes to have only his own views echoed…whoever he may be. The ever-shifting enemies, or scapegoats, of the intolerant one only show the intolerant one’s familiar Orwellian pattern of self-criticism, brainwashing, and historical revisionism to control past, present, and future.

In other words, the intolerant one thinks, “Leave my corner of the universe alone, you subversive scum. Go away, away to hell. Let me listen to my favorite elites spoon-feed me what I wish to hear. To have exchange of thought, it must be my thought, the thought that I agree with, not true exchange of thought. That would be subversive and unpatriotic.”

Imparting symbolic anthropomorphism to life, such as metaphorical relations (as in animism, a worldview rather than a religion), is much more grounded than taking literally artificial commands from a supernatural dictator/Big Brother who changes his plans as the moment passes, resulting in ever-changing prophetic utterances from his followers, and who blames sinful humans for not being immortally appraised of the details that only he himself knows, thereby insinuating that the humans are merely not reading the scriptures properly…the proper interpretation changing as supernatural Big Brother (mediated through his HUMAN prophets, who are prone to HUMAN error and who filter Big Brother’s “message” through HUMAN means) sees fit.

Too often, organized religion, including modern and so-called “biblical” Christianity (read: fundamentalism), is just the equivalent of Mao Zedong’s Little Red Book or any other political treatise. Too often, modern religion is just political religion, the propaganda of elites and their media, institutions, and intelligence services (CIA, KGB, etc.). Thus it serves as a channel for the subconscious desires of indoctrinated human beings, such as the will to power, often by preaching a way of purity, sexual abstinence, hell-fire for the heretics, etc…which, of course, the instructors are not bound to follow, being accountable only to the supernatural or human Big Brother. Read Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, to not mention the REAL history of the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

(Note that so-called “liberal” theologians are just as guilty by making religious figures and teachings fit postmodern sensibilities and leftist politics. That is as much a shameful sham as is right-wing political religion, otherwise known as religious fundamentalism. Both projects take religion outside and beyond its historical context by making it literal, selective, absolute, fit for “our time,” and wholly subservient to the momentary whim of elites and their fads, which they spoon-feed to the ignorant “little people.”)

The way to read the Bible, or any religious text, without falling into these traps is as follows: look at the parts that apply most nearly universally to human nature, that stress internal metanoia (repentance/reform, a radical reorientation of one’s personal life), and are least prone to being manipulated for selfish reasons and contemporary storms—that is, opt for what makes oneself shudder, not bask in comfort; grapple with one’s internal demons; and experience inward reformation. You will not find such reformation in any religious or other institution, text, individual person, politics, sociopolitical systems, etc. They are not courageous, neither do they think outside the proverbial box. They are merely the tools of whoever wields them at a historical moment.

Perhaps humanity needs to experience a global nuclear exchange in order to feel total war encapsulated as the horrifyingly all-encompassing abnegation of life that it truly is, not as a necessary evil or as a necessary precursor to the Last Judgment/Paradise. The next big war may also be the last war in human history. It may spell the very end of the modern system as we know it, including all its constructs, such as fundamentalism (including Islamism and the neoconservative Christian right, communism, fascism, neoliberal capitalism, “New Age” nonsense, etc.).

We need to have our greed and selfishness and will to power hurled back at us and be forced to drink the very last molecule from the bottom of a bottomless well of depraved ignorance and stupidity. Wars, if any, are to be fought with sticks rather than machine guns, mustard gas, AK-47s, and mushroom clouds of sarin nerve agent. The problem is that the ignorance promulgated by elites, such as the notion of the “Jewish/Zionist world conspiracy” or the racist “black nobility/anti-Obama” trope posted above, only serves to divide people and obscure the truth.

Stratification and dislocation, the reliance on third parties rather than close-knit, face-to-face interactions for advocacy or support, are symptoms of a broader trend toward centralized state-market systems since 10,000 BCE. We as individuals have less control over our own fate than ever before, paradoxically, because we are beholden to larger and more unfamiliar groups of people who claim to care for and aid us. To merely get ourselves heard, we must rely on corrupt, third-party lobbyists who claim to represent us, such as the American Enterprise Institute or the NAACP, while having no control over whether they truly spend every dime on us.

Here are the goals of the neoconservative Christian right, the red–black–green milieu (far left, fascism/Nazism/far right, Islamism), and the U.S. deep state and its wealthy corporate affiliates:

Undermine peaceful end to Cold War; strengthen power of military-industrial-intelligence complex and deep-state hardliners in U.S., Western bloc, and USSR/new Russian Federation. (See possible joint CIA/KGB coup against Gorbachev in 1991, paving way to KGB-run, oligarchic, state-capitalist regime under Yeltsin and then his handpicked successor Putin.)

Weaken NATO via newly founded EU and strengthen Russian influence over Europe (beginning in the East but extending to West), thereby justifying U.S.’s taking over sovereignty of contemporaneous and prospective EU states.

Allow unmitigated migration under guise of “multiculturalism,” to be exploited for drug trafficking, wealthy corporate elites, and deep-state intelligence.

Use deep-state, CIA-linked milieus to allow Islamist infiltration of Europe, destabilization, funding of Islamists, fake “counter-jihadist” as well as pro-Islamist right-wingers, and pseudo-far-left provocateurs that support pro-Islamist campaigns against “Islamophobia” (an Islamist/CIA invention).

Weaken U.S. militarily by continuing and intensifying “wars for, not against, [Islamist] terror and drugs” on key “Earth-Island” routes, draining U.S. focus temporarily from Eastern Europe, allowing Russia to reestablish its imperium, thereby serving as a budding future pretext for anti-Russian U.S. policy.

Blame U.S. “wars for terror and drugs” on Russian and Chinese provocation, domestic scapegoats (usually true progressives and conservatives who are not part of the deep-state “left/right” dialectic), or both. Always blame anti-elitist, anti-corporate elements, as well as egalitarians and anti-authoritarians.

Employ false-flag events as part of interlocking dark operations to further deceive an already-indoctrinated public, such as 9/11, various terrorist attacks (Islamist, domestic right-wing, and joint Islamist/right-wing), and indoctrination via CIA-linked media, think tanks, religious institutions, etc.

“The idea of the United States saving the Middle East from itself appeals to liberal hawks and neoconservatives alike. Unfortunately, when that notion has carried the day — as it did in Iraq in 2003 and Libya in 2011 — regional security and stability have worsened. Indeed, in light of Syria’s geopolitical circumstances, intervention along the lines suggested in the memo could produce consequences more dangerous than those of the two previous adventures.

These losses [by the Assad regime to Turkish-, Saudi-, and Qatari-backed Islamists, including ISIS, in 2013–15] were also key factors in Russia’s decision to enter the Syrian fray after years of sitting on the sidelines. This gives the lie to the interventionists’ belief that “judicious” airstrikes could somehow disempower the Assad government, sap Russian resolve and improve prospects for a negotiated solution.

If Moscow saw fit to intervene on account of Washington’s covert support for the rebels, it is only logical that it would retaliate even more strongly in the event of overt support [especially given Syria’s decades-long importance, now greater than ever, as a Russian base in the Middle East, a critical Mediterranean buffer, situated along energy routes, against neighboring Sunni powers and NATO ally Turkey. Like Ukraine, Syria is a core component of Russia’s pivotal geostrategic pillars].

Even in the unfathomable event that Russia would abandon Syria, direct American military action would cause Iran and Hezbollah, the Assad government’s closest allies, to intensify their support. This would strengthen hawks in Iran [and their covert neoconservative allies in the Western deep states, who also benefit from conflict] and dim prospects for further improvement in United States-Iran relations.

Perhaps the interventionists believe that American military action would force Mr. Assad to the peace table. That prospect is equally implausible. There is no conceivable bargain that the Syrian president could strike with his adversaries, many of whom are hardline Islamists. He and his colleagues would rather go down fighting than hand Syria to Sunni jihadists. The same goes for Iran and Hezbollah.

But the biggest problem with the arguments for intervention — even the calibrated airstrikes that the dissent channel memo calls for — is that it would lead to boots on the ground. Assuming Mr. Assad would escalate attacks in response to the airstrikes — a virtual certainty — the option of a limited response would no longer be available.

For example, if the United States simply cranked up the pace and intensity of airstrikes with an eye to blunting Mr. Assad’s resistance, Russia, Iran and Hezbollah would be even more likely to come to his rescue. Washington would be left just two realistic options: stand down and look feckless or ratchet up the conflict into a full-blown … war and commit to finishing off the regime.

Direct military action against the Syrian government would ignore the primary lesson of Libya: that regime change, absent the willingness and capacity to engage in subsequent stabilization operations, opens the door to extremist groups. An American commitment to such operations in Syria would also ignore the primary lesson of Iraq: that true stabilization requires both counterinsurgency and state-building, for which the United States, like most mature democracies, lacks the stomach [given its] … brutality and [the requisite] political stamina.

The president can’t afford to undertake an open-ended war in Syria, a country in which the United States’ national interest is subtle and complex. If the United States has a direct military interest in Syria, it is [to make the country] a jihadist-killing field. It is already advancing that interest via a sustained and effective air campaign [in partnership with Russia] against the Islamic State [and other Sunni jihadists in Syria, who, as recent gains by the Assad regime have shown, have shown themselves to be as much of a proxy, albeit a theocratic one, of the Gulf Arab states and Turkey as the Assad regime is of Iran, thereby losing their support, especially among Syria’s non-Sunni minorities, who have already seen through the hypocrisy of sectarian U.S. interventions for “democracy” (read: drugs and oil) in the Middle East and Central Asia that have led to the expulsion and killing of ethno-religious minorities by jihadists in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. The U.S. has frequently championed its love for the Christians of the Middle East but has only served the neoconservative WASPs and their deep-state, CIA-tied allies, including Likud hardliners like Bibi Netanyahu, who profit especially from the killing of progressive Kurds, Alawites, Druze, Armenians, Assyrians, Circassians, Yazidis, Sufis, various Christian sects, the last remaining Jews in the Arab states, and others while benefiting right-wing Protestant powers and their Manchurian Jewish, as opposed to truly Jewish, lackeys, whose allies are the Islamists, both Sunni takfiris and Iranian Shiite hardliners].

Beyond such realist considerations, the dissent channel memo defaults to general notions like the integrity of the “international system” for civilian protection and “accountability” for human rights violations. These are valid concerns, but they are strategically tertiary [not to mention all-too-familiar cases of hypocritical moralizing, given longstanding U.S. abuses of “human rights” at home and abroad, from white supremacy to backing for right-wing dictatorships in Latin America, Central and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and sub-Saharan Africa, proving that the world’s exceptional nation is in fact no different from any other superpower—or any other state, for that matter, which acts to preserve its own sphere of influence].

The memo also intimates [the familiar hawkish refrain] that American restraint in Syria [or any other country] somehow puts the United States’ credibility on the line more broadly. This, too, is a stretch. Beijing [to use one example] is probably not looking at how Washington deals with Damascus, either ethically or operationally, to decide whether or not to seize Taiwan or assert control over the Malacca Strait.”

    1. Daniel I’ve axtya;;y appreciated your voluminous contributions to this blog; thus I can hardly believe you call me or any devoted Christian as intolerant let alone a “scum”. I agree with many of your concepts even though I disagree with a lot of them. Especiaaly your characterisms Biblical Christians as nefarious as liberal (cherry-picking Biblical) Christians. Also I find it a bit ironic that you classify White Anglo-Saxon Protestants (WASP) as Neocons since Neocon haters classify them as a part of Jewish cabal to rule the world.

But you are absolutely entitled to your opinion which is the reason I cross post some of your comments as stand alone blog entries on my blogs.I want to thank you for your continued contributions even if we disagree on matters of faith.

      1. Firstly, I would like to politely ask you to re-read my last post. I never called you or any neoconservative Christian rightist “scum,” but was rather politely attempting to indicate how many neoconservative, Christian-right ideologues elsewhere, on other Web sites, have treated those that disagree with them and attempt to present differing perspectives. As can be seen elsewhere in my postings, I simply detest all forms of authoritarian control and censorship, including by communist regimes, and in fact detest modern political parties and ideologies.

Anti-Semitic critics of the neoconservatives have rarely, if ever, attacked the WASPs, and indeed have mainly classed the neocons as Jews who are part of a capitalist-Bolshevist plan to corrupt white, Western civilization (as in the writings of David Duke and others, which draw upon the Tsarist forgery The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, among other works). That’s because the anti-Semites, even the Islamists, are products, directly and indirectly, of the West, and are in fact covertly working with the neocons, who are part of the deep-state milieu, linked to wealthy corporate elites (which include MANY different ethno-religious groups besides Jews, despite the anti-Semitic provocateurs’ efforts to prove the contrary).

As far as Nazi statements against Christianity: the Catholics and Protestants of Germany primarily opposed Hitler, if they did at all, only when the Nazis interfered with the churches by attempting to prohibit their proselytizing Jews on racial grounds. Aside from this interference, the Christians of Germany had relatively few quarrels with Hitler and other Nazis, apart from the excessively violent enthusiasm of the Hitler Youth and the SA, which unnerved aristocratic and upper-class strata of society. (These strata resented Hitler and other Nazis not for their elitist authoritarianism or anti-Semitism but for their petit bourgeois or lower-middle-class origins.) German society was largely conservative, right-wing, and/or nationalistic, not leftist, and even the National “Socialists”—the Nazis—did not target corporate interests and had no problem with profit so long as business served state interests, unlike in the Stalinist USSR.

The Nazis’ hostility to Christianity was largely residual and based on the churches’ resistance to external interference. The churches, with a few exceptions like elements within the Confessing Church (namely Dietrich Bonhoeffer), chiefly resented this aspect of the Nazis—their attempt to regulate the churches’ internal affairs by outlawing their proselytizing and baptizing of Jews—and otherwise did not oppose the Nazis’ anti-Semitism, extreme nationalism, elitist authoritarianism, or even other aspects of their racial ideology. Even Hitler himself, like many Nazis, was, if not a Christian, syncretistic in his views (he was also baptized a Catholic). And many Christians, such as the Protestant “German Christians,” actively backed the Nazis wholesale.

Of course, there were elements of the Nazis, especially within the SS, who did view Christianity disdainfully and actively sought its eventual demise. People like Heinrich Himmler, and some zealots like Martin Bormann, were highly suspicious of Christianity due to its Jewish origins, as German scholarship, even in an anti-Semitic society, had long since proven Jesus’ Jewish heritage. The SS, in particular, preferred a mystical, occultist, neo-pagan and racialist order, though infused with what it saw as the spirit of the Christian Knights Templar, to govern German society: in short, a racial, aristocratic vanguard, based on blood and soil, against “Jewish” and other “degenerate” influences.

However, it must be noted that such views of Germany’s pagan past, including “blood-and-soil,” social-Darwinism-based racism, had very little, if anything, to do with what the Vikings or any of the Germanic tribes believed in or practiced prior to the advent of Christianity in northern Europe. The Nazis’ views were largely products of the late-nineteenth-century West and should not be taken as proxies for what “pagans” were really like prior to the “civilizing” influence of Christianity. Nor can the Nazis be cited as an inevitable outcome of Darwinism, but merely reflected a virulent and crude distortion of evolutionary ideas to society, in service of a political and pseudo-scientific rather than purely scientific idea, even though Darwin himself did share some of the common racial assumptions of his time, such as the Western view of darker-skinned peoples as being somehow inferior to the white races.

      1. Here is where we may part in how we view the dilemma. The problem, to me, is structural, not religious or abstract. It is real. The problem, in part, is that we resent changing the global system because elites split us into groups competing for a share of the domination. Hence we have division by ethnicity, religion, race, class, region, political ideology, partisanship, etc. We can only see the system we live in and are desirous of its benefits if only we could manipulate and control it to our own advantage; we literally can’t imagine living WITHOUT the current global system. We see things through the prism of wealth and materialism; modern war and eternal empire; drugs and oil; social security and social Darwinism. We forget that people, long ago, lived without those things; if we remember, we tend to dismiss those people as primitives, pagans, noble savages, etc. The drumbeat calls for progress, development, positive religion, civilization.

You may see the problem as one that requires religious, fundamentalist revivalism; I see the problem as one that requires something far deeper, a changing of the human consciousness on a grand scale. That change of consciousness may come “easily” or it may come “devastatingly,” through peaceful transition or global cataclysm, the latter of which (nuclear warfare) I see as far more probable, given human nature and the underlying forces at work, including peak oil, changing climate, stratification of wealth, etc. These things may seem far more distant and dehumanizing than an absolute dogma, but they are concrete and have discernible impacts on our daily lives over a long timescale. Retreating into politico-religious ideology may seem comforting, but it is a form of euthanasia that does not stop the march to total destruction. That destruction will and shall happen if people do not undergo METANOIA.

The important thing is that people must be willing to listen to prophecy that does not match their own politico-religious “prophecy.” To do so, they must have an open mind: an emotional heart and a logical brain. They must be receptive but critical thinkers, independent of some external “Big Brother,” whoever or whatever it may be: institutions, economics, politico-religious ideology, etc. Thinking outside the box is painful but necessary. Social-media indoctrination, like ANY form of indoctrination, trains us NOT to be critical thinkers. We have free will; God, the true God beyond the gods of human imagination, the Ultimate Power-Reality, gave us it. We have the will, and hence the means, to choose which path to take. Ultimately, we came from the stars and shall return to them. What we see in front of our faces is not the Ultimate Reality, but rather one dimension. Yet we have the power to choose how to care for the one dimension God gave us temporarily to inhabit.

  23. An open letter to the Turkish government:

This game must stop, lest all citizens of Turkey pay the price. Cutting off the flow of financial, intelligence, and military support to ISIS would greatly accelerate the collapse of this terrorist oil-and-drug cartel. Start by arresting all ISIS networks inside Turkey and closing Turkish territory to ISIS militants who seek to enter Syria and Europe.

Working with Islamist extremists against your enemy is like the world’s attempt to work with Hitler in 1938. An enemy that can only be appeased but not satiated, an enemy dedicated even to its allies’ destruction, will only bite the hand that feeds it. Indeed, Islamist fascists do derive much of their ideology from Nazism as well as Italian fascism.

Much of the blame for both Assad’s crimes and the rise of Sunni extremists in Syria must be laid squarely on regional powers (and, in the case of ISIS, the last Bush administration) rather than the Obama administration or Israel. Erdogan’s role is particularly egregious, though rarely, if ever, reported honestly in corporate media around the world.

Since the early 2000s, when Hafez’s son Bashar al-Assad succeeded him as Syrian president, Erdogan’s AKP promoted extensive trade with Syria. On the eve of the anti-Assad uprisings in 2011, trade between Turkey and Syria was at all-time highs, as was trade between Turkey and Syria’s ally Iran. Given Syria’s poverty and corruption, Ankara had significant leverage over Damascus. Yet as we shall see, it chose not to wield it.

For decades, the corruption and discrimination that Syria’s poorest Sunnis faced was well known, as was the fact that Gulf Arab states were exploiting Syrian Sunnis’ legitimate grievances to fund Salafist (Wahhabi) mosques, Sunni Islamist groups, and Islamic programs in Syria. The Assad family was to blame for the root causes, yet Syria’s Sunni enemies were equally culpable in laying explosives. Oppression and Islamism fed on each other.

Given these factors, the risks of an anti-Assad uprising leading to sectarianism, Islamist extremism, and civil war were certainly on the mind of Turkish and Western intelligence operatives. With its economic leverage, Turkey could have played the stick to America’s diplomatic carrot by pressing Assad to reduce corruption, integrate Sunnis into public life, and provide jobs and civil rights for them.

Yet Erdogan preferred to curry favor with the anti-American instincts of Assad, his Iranian patrons, and Gulf Arab elites rather than take steps to reduce the risk of a humanitarian disaster—and millions of refugees streaming into Europe via Turkey—should Syrians revolt against Assad. At the same time, Turkey and Gulf Arab states funded extremist Islamist ideology in Syria.

Only when Assad began brutally crushing his foes did Turkey intervene, unlike in 1997, when the Turkish government, then secular, nearly invaded Syria to prevent an exodus of fellow Sunnis. However, in 2011 Turkey intervened covertly, not overtly. Several factors prevented Turkey from using its once-powerful military against Assad.

First, having recently been so chummy with Assad, Erdogan wished to keep his options open. Second, and most importantly, Erdogan had recently purged much of the secular, anti-Islamist military establishment on trumped-up charges of a coup. Like Stalin’s pre-1939 purges, Erdogan’s acts removed his most qualified military professionals, placing ideological loyalty and domestic politics above national security.

By 2011, the Turks and their Gulf Arab allies had taken numerous steps to ensure that whatever replaced Assad would not be a secular, potentially pro-Western government with abiding ties to Russia, Syria’s other longtime client. Given the groups that Turkey and its allies were arming, Erdogan had all the more reason to make sure Washington didn’t notice. So he opted for covert operations.

Having laid down the explosives of Sunni extremism, which found fertile soil in the despair of Syrian Sunnis, the Erdogan regime ensured that the Islamists always had an edge over their secular Sunni rivals in terms of arms, organization, and funding. Thus the secularists, who were poorly led and armed, were quickly sidelined and routed by late 2011 and early 2012. Corruption in their ranks also fueled support for the Islamist elements.

There was another rationale behind Turkish support for violent jihadists. These groups’ territories, including ISIS’s, also overlapped a proposed Turkish–Qatari pipeline that Turkey and Gulf Arab states hoped would not fall into the hands of a progressive, unfriendly Kurdish regime. Oil politics and anti-Kurdish animosities trumped long-term interests.

Embracing the most insular forces in the Middle East adopts a parochialism unfit for a great country like Turkey. Turkey maintains significant ties with the West through tourism, institutions of higher learning, and cultural exchange. As the world becomes more interconnected, embracing reactionary, violent ideology grows increasingly dangerous, especially with oil involved. Islamist misogyny, authoritarianism, and racism are unacceptable.

In the 1990s, Turkey had an opportunity to become a bridge between East and West, a staunchly independent, truly democratic, Muslim-majority state that holistically incorporated the best indigenous and foreign elements. Erdogan and his AKP opted to become a typical, Arabized Middle Eastern state: reflexively anti-Israel, dogmatically Islamist, and geared toward economic growth benefitting a small elite.

Unfortunately, the West accepted this devil’s bargain, so long as corporate interests in Riyadh and Doha, to not mention Western European capitals, benefited. The result has been increased destabilization benefiting Sunni terrorists and their Gulf Arab clients, an isolation of Israel, expansion of Iranian influence, and the growth of right-wing Islamist and reactionary forces in the West and the Middle East.

In short, Netanyahu, al-Baghdadi, and Le Pen—and even Iranian hardliners like Khamenei—are part of the same dynamic: groups that benefit from destabilization, sectarian and ethnic conflict, and connections with financial benefactors in the drugs, arms, and intelligence milieu. So are Erdogan, his Muslim Brotherhood-linked allies, and Gulf Arab elites like the al-Saud family.

Meanwhile, the U.S. military-industrial-intelligence complex is stronger than ever, and the nation mired in ever-more-costly interventions that only help its enemies. The U.S. has become Arab states’ proxy and whipping boy, willing to carry out their vendettas but then blamed, along with Israel, for worsening problems that the Arab states refused to solve themselves.

At least the Saudis can sleep easily at night, knowing that ISIS will attack them last—after defusing Saudi domestic tensions by going after familiar bogeymen: non-Arabs, the West, and the Saudis’ Iranian rivals. As the regional truism goes, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Well, not really, especially in a globalized economy.

We are willing to work with an honest government to defeat ISIS, this scourge of the Turkish nation and of the entire world. In return, we ask that the government show that ISIS’s fascist, racist, and authoritarian ideology is anathema. Such an ideology must not be the foundation for governance, a tool that elites use to control their masses and amass private fortunes.

The only way to repudiate Islamist fascism is to embrace full democratic rights, gender equality, and decentralized federalism for all minorities within the Turkish nation. (Transparency about Turkey’s past and present mistreatment of minorities, including the Armenian and Circassian genocides, can’t hurt.) Turkish intelligence and the “deep state” must be defanged, and the powers of the presidency curbed significantly.

An honest Turkish government can trust that its efforts would be received in gratitude and loyalty. After all, the current struggle is not solely about ISIS. Nor did it begin in a vacuum. Turkey and all its neighbors have a duty to put their sordid history, past and present, firmly in the past.

  24. “The ideological roots of the AKP were formed with Necmettin Erbakan’s Welfare Party (RP), which was established in 1983 and banned in 1998. Already in 1995, the AKP’s later foreign minister and president Abdullah Gül stated, “This is the end of the republican period,” and that “the secular system has failed and we definitely want to change it.” Erdoğan’s later undersecretary Ömer Dinçer was also specific and stated the principle of secularism should be replaced with the integration of Islam.

Both the preamble and Article 24 of Turkey’s secular constitution from 1982 stipulate that no one shall be allowed to exploit religion for the purpose of personal or political influence, but nevertheless this is what they have done.

There has been an explosive increase in the budget allocated to the Religious Affairs Directorate and in the number of personnel, which has increased from 70,000 in 2002 to over 120,000 in 2014. For example, from 2010 to 2014 about 40,000 people were recruited as Quran teachers, imams, preachers and muezzins.

Religious high schools (imam-hatip schools) play a major role in the AKP’s plans to transform Turkish society. In 2002 they had 65,000 students, but now there are about 1 million. Originally planned to train imams, their numbers far outstrip this need and instead they are intended to provide the cadres for “the new Turkey.” From 2010 to 2014, there has been a 73 percent increase in the number of imam-hatip schools, and in the same period almost 1,500 general high schools have been closed and around 40,000 students have been placed in religious high schools against their will.

Like Stalin’s elimination of Trotsky and his followers or Hitler’s elimination of Ernest Röhm and his Brownshirts, Erdoğan has turned on his former ally, Fethullah Gülen, a Turkish cleric resident in Pennsylvania, and his followers in the Hizmet (service) movement.

In April 2007, the Turkish military in an e-memorandum declared themselves to be “the absolute defenders of secularism,” but with the support of members of the Gülen community in the police and judiciary Erdoğan crushed military and secular opposition in a series of show trials. However, the revelations of large-scale government corruption in December 2013 led to accusations by Erdoğan of “a judicial coup” by the Gülen movement, who he claimed formed “a parallel state.” Consequently, around 40,000 police officers and 4,000 judges and prosecutors have been reassigned and 4,000 preparatory schools (“dershane”), many of which were managed by the Gülen movement and prepared students for university and civil service exams, have been closed.

…the Gezi Park revolt in 2013 must have seemed the height of ingratitude to the government, but it was led by educated, articulate young people who objected to the AKP’s interference in their lifestyles.

The AKP came to power with the promise of clean (“ak”) governance but, as I pointed out in the Financial Times eight months later, it was business as usual with an amnesty to cover tax fraud and an amended public procurement law to render state tenders in certain fields opaque.

…a symbiotic relationship has developed between Erdoğan and the AKP and the business world. A system of “crony capitalism” has developed, where allegiant companies are awarded lucrative contracts in return for donations to, for example, the Foundation of Youth and Education in Turkey (TÜRGEV), where Erdoğan’s son Bilal sits on the board.

Consequently, companies that do not toe the line are made to feel the government’s wrath.

…he [Erdogan] has made use of the same mechanisms to come to and maintain power, including control of the media. A small number of holding companies own most of Turkey’s press and TV outlets, and they also have a symbiotic relationship with Erdoğan and his party, as they are dependent on the government for contracts inside industry, construction, energy, mining, finance and tourism.

As newspaper circulation in Turkey is relatively low (around 5 million), for 90 percent TV is the primary source of information, but for younger people there is increasing reliance on the Internet and social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

When Erdoğan states, “I am increasingly against the Internet every day,” this is quite understandable as this has been the main source of non-government controlled news.”

    http://famagusta-gazette.com/comment-the-rise-of-the-turkish-reich-p27470-69.htm

“Ironically, the [Turkish] military contributed to the strengthening of political Islam in Turkey. An upsurge of left-wing [especially Kurdish, namely PKK, and Armenian ASALA] and right-wing [Turkish deep-state-backed] violence [including false-flag attacks by Turkish-intelligence-and-CIA-affiliated entities that were erroneously attributed to leftist minorities] that brought Turkey to the brink of civil war in the 1970s eventually prompted the military to intervene [via a CIA-, NATO-, and Grey-Wolves-backed, right-wing coup in] 1980 to restore order [and which reflected the rising role of the pan-Turkic, far-right, fascist Grey Wolves and their Islamist allies, who were involved in drug trafficking on behalf of Western intelligence agencies and the Turkish deep state].

In an effort to combat communism and leftist ideologies, the military attempted to strengthen the role of Islam. Under the military’s tutelage, religious education was made a compulsory subject in all schools.
Quranic classes were opened, and state-controlled moral and religious education was promoted. In effect, [under CIA/NATO guidance] the military sought to institute a process of state-controlled “Islamization from above.” By fusing Islamic symbols with nationalism, the military hoped [ultimately in vain, as the rise of hardcore Islamists Erdogan and the Gulenists, backed by the Grey Wolves and the CIA, showed] to create a more homogeneous and less political Islamic community and to insulate the population from the influence of left-wing ideologies. Based on the tripod of “the family, the mosque, and the barracks,” this new “Turkish-Islamic synthesis” [the equivalent of neoconservative Christian rightism and “family values”] was designed to reduce the appeal of radical leftist ideologies and also to diminish the influence of non-Turkish strands of Islamic thinking from Pakistan and the Arab world [but ultimately led to the domination of CIA-backed, Arab-supremacy subversion by Saudi Arabia and its Wahhabi proxies like Pakistan]. The military also hoped the new synthesis would act as a counter to Islamic radicalism from Iran [who, though Shiite, were also inspired by the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood].

While the AKP has Islamic roots—many of its leaders, including Erdoğan and Gül [from which the Gulenists derive their name], came out of the Milli Görüş movement and had been members of the [right-wing Islamist] Welfare and Virtue parties—the AKP defines itself not as an Islamic party but as a conservative democratic party similar to [conservative and right-wing] Christian democratic parties in Western Europe.

Despite the AKP’s claim of being a conservative democratic party, many Turkish secularists and outside observers still question whether it has abandoned the Islamist agenda of its predecessors and reconciled itself to operating within the framework of Turkish secularism, or whether the priority that the party has given to privatization, structural reforms, and integration with the EU over a [politico-]religious agenda merely represents a tactical shift in its political strategy.”
