Senator Hillary Claims Bush Explanation is Bogus

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called President Bush’s explanations for eavesdropping on domestic conversations without warrants "strange" and "far-fetched" Wednesday in blistering criticism ahead of the president’s State of the Union address.

This quote from a CNN story truly astounds me. Hillary was an active and powerful First Lady under hubby President Clinton. I am assuming therefore that Hillary was fully cognizant of the Echelon program established during President Clinton’s terms of office. The Echelon program is described thus:

ECHELON attempts to capture staggering volumes of satellite, microwave, cellular and fiber-optic traffic, including communications to and from North America. This vast quantity of voice and data communications are then processed through sophisticated filtering technologies. This massive surveillance system apparently operates with little oversight.

The American Thinker actually shows how liberal rags like NY Times and the Washington Post rarely complained about Clinton usage of Echelon. Indeed, the NY Times actually defended the use of Echelon during Clinton Administration.

Of course Senator Hillary has the MSM to still back her up. It is doubtful that any MSM outlet will ask questions as to how President Hubby used Echelon to spy on Americans.  Is there Judicial outrage over Clinton using Echelon?

I mean Clinton was aware of the Islamofascists certainly because of Echelon. I am guessing Senator Hillary is just looking for an MSM sound byte because she is hardly the person to judge the legitimacy of taking down war criminals such as the Islamofascists.
